Tea smoked duck
Ann T.

Opened decently late if you want dinner after the regular dinner rush. Lots of parking in the plaza it's located at and there's a decent amount of seating inside. Small restaurant but we were accommodated. My boyfriend spoke with the worker in Mandarin the entire time but apparently she was worried that we didn't order any veggies, but laughed when he pointed out that we ordered the pickled veggies. I guess that count! For our dinner we got the: cumin pork knuckle (boyfriend and my friend really liked this and I liked whatever bites I can get out of it since I love cumin seasoned meats, but the actual cut of meat is not my favorite since I'm a baby who doesn't like chewiness or bones, but everyone else really liked it), hot pepper chicken, and the spicy sauerkraut (our pickled veggies, nice hit of sour taste to go with the spiciness of the chicken and the cumin of the pork). This was the first restaurant that I've ever had hot pepper chicken from and visually it's a bit scary to those who are weak to spice, crispy fried chicken nuggets covered in dried chopped chilis, but it's SO GOOD. The sharp, instant kick from the spiciness is addicting and goes great with a bowl of rice. After getting it here, it made me go get the same dish from other establishments but it's just not the same. Great restaurant and definitely support this mom and pop shop!

Never knew this place existed until I saw it on yelp, and glad we decided to stop by. This is one of those mom and pop places. The inside is very small, only like 5 tables. Price is very affordable and portions are generous and delicious. We enjoyed everything we got, but the main star was the hot pepper chicken which I highly recommend. Lady working (guessing owner) is very nice but seems super busy running around. My mom dropped one of her chopsticks and before she could even ask for a new one, one of the guys working there already brought her a new set. That's what I call good service.

I just realized I was 'First to Review' Lin's Club years ago, so here's a long overdue update. I don't quite remember what they served in the beginning, but I'm very satisfied with everything they have now. I've also developed a new appreciation for smaller family owned businesses, and found that these places often have better food, better service and much better customer interaction. The owner here is so personable that I feel like I'm at auntie's house. If I order several dishes that are too similar, she'll suggest something else to have a wider range of flavors. That's thinking for her customers. I love spicy food, and Lin's Club is near the top of my go-to list. Their hot pepper chicken is one of the best, full of flavor and not scorching hot. The cumin beef, smoked tea duck, dan dan mein, spicy beef pot and many more are all so good. If you have a tolerance and love for Szechuan spicy food, Lin's Club needs to be in your list. The inside is small, as in one of the smallest restaurants I've ever been to, and service can be slow if they get a little busy, but the great flavor is there. So be patient, open minded, hungry and polite and you'll have a great experience. Though they take credit cards, please try to use cash because the banking systems takes a % out of the total.

Very small spot. About 5 tables. There is a language barrier but it was ok. I was craving some beef noodle soup. I searched on google and Yelp and this spot popped up in the searches. I got the house special beef noodle soup and it was not what I was expecting. Broth was just very tasteless. Noodles however was really good. The beef was good but very thin. The Pepper spicy chicken was amazing. Such huge portions. I will definitely come back to try the spicy beef noodle soup and the chicken but will definitely pass on the house special noodle soup.

I ordered from Uber Eats and was amazed at how delicious the food was. The flavors were bold, a bit spicy, but oh so good. The packaging was sturdy and well-foiled, and everything was still hot by the time it arrived. Cumin Beef - Super flavorful, slightly spicy, and cooked to perfection. Really tasty. (5/5) Mapo Tofu Combo - We had this with noodles, and the noodles were well-flavored. It arrived piping hot, and I would definitely get it again. The Mapo Tofu had a nice peppercorn taste, and I really enjoyed it overall. Can't go wrong. (4.5/5) I'll definitely need to go in person next time!

I ordered takeout here and it was really homey Chinese food. I got the hot pepper chicken which was really crispy and light, but a little too spicy for me. Also we got the hot and sour soup, shrimp fried rice, and kung pao chicken. Would definitely come back for large portions and affordable prices.

Spicy fried chicken nuggets

First time trying out Lin's Club in Monrovia and it feels like a great place for Sichuan-style home cooking. The restaurant is pretty small and cozy, but the menu has a lot of interesting dishes if you're into authentic flavors. We ordered a few things to try: * Spicy fried chicken nuggets - Definitely recommend this one! The chicken was tender, with a nice kick of spice but still very flavorful. * Spicy pig's ear in chili oil - Pretty authentic taste-wise, though the cuts were a little too thick for my liking. Still enjoyable if you're into that dish. * Twice pan-fried pork belly - This one wasn't our favorite. Not much flavor and just didn't stand out. What makes the place even better is the owner - super friendly and welcoming, which made the experience felt like dining at a friend's home.

Boss at the front definitely has her rough edges but she means well and will get you right. None of their prices and portions are unreasonable, too. Honestly, all of their dishes are great and you can't really go wrong with any of them. I particularly appreciate that you're able to get a side of rice for just a dollar to balance out the side dishes. For anyone new, their laziji (hot pepper chicken, I believe) is incredible and a must-try

Lins is my absolute favorite restaurant! I have been eating here for years and it never disappoints.

Beef dry pot
Rony Q.

This small unassuming restaurant that far away from most of the food scene that I'm used to, is one of my top 5 restaurants on my list. I first came here for the tea smoked duck because I saw that the price looked great and i had never had tea smoked duck before. Since then I've been here several times because everything I've had here has delivered in both taste and quality and I can't wait to come back here to try more! Tea smoked duck (5/5): there's so much duck for how much it costs and everything about it is amazing. The tea smoke is very prominent and it makes itself known in a good way. Breast meat is good, thigh meat is good and tastes great the next day too! Beef dry pot (5/5): there's a perfect blend of spices that this mix of veggies and beef get cooked into and what's nice is that it's really not as oily as other dry pots that I've had at other places. My favorite part about this dry pot is actually the cauliflower & potato and would consider getting the cauliflower dry pot over the beef next time. Hot pepper chicken (5/5): I'm usually not a fan of this dish because of so many reasons. Sometimes there's too many peppers and too little chicken. Sometimes the chicken is more bone than chicken. I decided to give Lin's club version a chance because the pictures on Yelp looked like it was a lot of chicken and when I got it, it was completely different than what I was used to. There was SO much chicken and it was all boneless and it was seasoned so well too. The owners of the place are very kind, but they are also so busy with making all of their online orders so please be patient with them. Everything is made fresh and could take a bit longer than what you are used to, but it's worth the wait!

Mapo tofu (in to go container)

Mom and pop type operation / small cafe located in a strip mall in Monrovia. They serve up some really delicious, fresh Chinese food at very reasonable prices. What I also love about this place is that it's also open relatively on the later side for this area (seriously...lots of places in this area seem to close early). This is perfect for even stopping by and ordering take out if you are leaving work a little later on the way home. The portions are great if you want to order for family style meals (dining in or take out) or if you just want to order a couple of items that will last a few meals as a solo diner. The folks here are very kind and helpful. This place first popped up on my radar a while back because of the high reviews when I was looking for dinner in the area after work. After eating ordering and eating the food from here, I can see why. I came in about 30 min before closing on a weeknight and ordered mapo tofu and sauteed eggplant along with an order of rice. I ordered to go because I didn't want them to wait around since they were closing soon. This lasted me about 2-3 meals and both dishes were very tasty. Would love to come back and order one of their noodle dishes or just more items from the menu in general. Such a great gem. Parking was really easy as well as the lot is pretty large and at the time, most surrounding businesses were closed.

Cumin Lamb
Ray G.

A super tiny little place with some very good Sichuan food. I ordered the Hot Pepper Chicken (La Zi Ji) and the Cumin Lamb and asked for more 'mala' for both dishes. The food came out relatively fast. The portions were very generous. But, the Hot Pepper Chicken was ridiculously ginormous. I've had this dish at many other places and the flavor was great. There was significantly more chicken that I've had elsewhere. And the prices were really reasonable compared to most Sichuan restaurants in the SGV (or SoCal) area. This is my new go to La Zi Ji place in the SGV.

Pork intestine
Amanda C.

The food here is sooooooooo good!! We originally wanted deep fried pork intestine, but after we finished ordering, the waitress was so kind and told us we need some veggies LOL. So she suggested we get the pork intestine with veggies, and she offered to have the intestines extra crispy since we initially wanted the deep fried ones. I am so glad we came here, the service was amazing and the food was so delicious!!

We've been at their location in Tustin and I heard this one was better than that location I was really excited about it. Teson is really good too, so I had a pretty good expectation on this location. Upon arrival, we were immediately seated by the staff member and she was pretty efficient and on top of things. I have attached here, but the ambience is pretty lively, but also not too loud. It was an enjoyable experience where you can talk with each other and be able to hear one another. At the same time, they had a clean and classy decor to their interior design. We ordered the stirfry lamb with cumin, shredded potato, and the chili oil fish fillet. The Lamb - 5/5 was perfectly cooked and seasoned with a very nice heat to it. Be careful because this is not for those sensitive to spicy food, but if you do like spicy, this has such a nice kick to it. The shredded potato - 5/5 one of my favorite dishes to substitute for the rice. Don't be deceived by how it looks. It definitely has a kick and can numb your mouth; however, you can still taste the pickled flavor in each bite. The chilli oil fish - 5/5 one of my most favorite dishes from both locations. Although the spiciest of the dishes, you taste the flavor through each bite. The dish is perfectly cooked and just dissolves in your mouth. Overall I am extremely satisfied with our visit and recommend coming here if you're ever in the area!!

The squid tentacles were tiny, and the dish felt like it was mostly filled with mixed vegetables. For $25.99, it definitely felt a little like a rip-off. On the brighter side, the Tea Smoked Pork Rib was really good--super flavorful and probably my favorite dish of the meal. That said, most of the menu is on the pricier side, and the portions aren't very generous, so value-wise it's a bit questionable. Service was just okay. No one really checked in on us, and we had to wave our hands a few times to get attention when we needed something. Overall, solid flavors in some dishes, but the portion size and pricing hold it back from being a full 5 stars.

The fish in the fish stew was tender, juicy, and not overcooked. Everything was spicy, by the way, so keep that in mind--and I love spicy food. I will say even though I'm not a fan of peppercorns, but because they were stewed, they were totally tolerable. The eggplant was soft and full of garlic and was delightful. What's not to love about mapo tofu? And the lotus skewers, if that's your jam, you'll enjoy them. Also, you can bring fish you caught there and they'll prepare it for you meal. They have free parking in the back, and they have a great outdoor space. They do have live entertainment outdoors at about 8:30 PM, so be aware of that. It was our first time there, so I was very excited to try new foods. Unfortunately the food didn't really meet my expectations. We ordered 4 dishes. Sichuan style red cooked pork, Chongqing mouthwatering chicken, Sichuan chili sautéed pork, and cilantro wrapped tofu skin. The Sichuan style red pork had some tough and dry pork from being overcooked. Possibly from being reheated in the microwave. Half of the dish was decent, while the other half just wasn't right. We ended up taking leftovers home, so I could make soup with the chewy pork. The deep fried hard boiled egg was the best part of this dish. It's a bummer as there was only one egg. I give this dish 7 out of 10. The Chongqing mouthwatering chicken was pretty good. It was very spicy and nutty. I didn't like the fact that they served pieces of chopped up boned-in chicken. There were sharp pieces of flats/wingettes, so please be careful. The worst part was that I found a piece of chicken neck. I wish they had served boneless chicken. 6 out of 10 for this dish. The Sichuan chili sautéed pork dish was the best thing we ordered!! I give it 10 out of 10. Mild spicy and garlicky.... soooo delicious!! The green chili pieces are just amazing as they complement the pork meat. I would come back just for this dish. The cilantro wrapped tofu skin dish was very good. However, I don't know if it's worth $3.99 for 2 sticks. Service was decent. One of the girls didn't seem to speak English. My old uncle asked for sriracha, and the waiter went out of his way to get us sriracha. He actually opened a new bottle just for my uncle. There was no ice in the water. Soon after leaving the restaurant I felt very thirsty, so we had to stop by a grocery store to buy ice cold Coca-Cola. It was nice that they have booth seating areas. Parking lot was very small, but my uncle has a handicapped parking placard.
