My cousin specifically likes their $10/lb Hog foot (to go cold/warm up at home), and $13+ Taiwanese Bento boxes to-go or dine there. My cousin's fav bento box is $14 Beef Shank and Chicken, and her SO favorite is $14 Salty Duck. She mentioned that Smoked Duck is heard to be good too. She ordered me 2lbs of the Hog Foot dish and it was delicious! It come with sauce, ginger and cilantro which I didn't need but the SO enjoyed. It's a good snack or side to have around. They sell other side dishes, and frozen dumplings to goodies. Looking forward to coming back to try their bento box there. Small shop, not good foe big parties, no restroom. A lot of classic Taiwanese dishes here. Although prices have gone up, the flavor is not missing. They have everything from bentos to various stewed and smoked dishes. The frozen dumplings are great and great for that weekday meal where you don't want to cook. I can see where some people complain about the service. But this is not the spot you go for that. It's essentially a fast food spot with higher quality. The beef noodle soup can bang with the best in the area. Arcadia is still blessed with Taiwanese gems and this is one of them. A hole-in-the-wall, esoteric shop in the midst of an unassuming Arcadia plaza (the infamous "Yogurtland plaza"). Although not the first place you would think to go to for a fancy sit-down meal, the quality of the food and friendliness of the service more than makes up for the modest ambience. My favorite dish of the night was the fried porkchop rice, which had the flavor, texture (still very crispy!) and depth of umami comparable to anything I had in Taiwan. Overall, would recommend a visit to this place when nearby in Arcadia for some real Asian comfort food. read more

The porkchop hits the spot, it is perfectly breaded - not too oily and never soggy, boneless, savory and slightly sweet. The beef shanks may look plain without garnish or chile oil, but it is flavorful and tender. Service is straightforward, order by calling in or at the restaurant. Call ahead to order but don't be discouraged if they don't pick up. There's usually only one person running the front and she's extremely busy! Even ordering at the store, the wait for your food usually takes about 15 minutes. I recommend calling before the 11:30 lunch rush!! I really like their special lunch boxes! The smoked chicken comes in a generous portion, I usually can split it for two meals. Their beef shank is also very tasty and comes with a yummy savory sauce. I also really like their sesame chicken thin noodles - so good on cold winter days!! They also have cold side dishes available in a fridge right by the door and frozen dumplings which are really good if you're too lazy to go out and get food. Came here because the place Nextdoor (Sinbala) was closed on Tuesday. There was no comparison. Sinbala is about the same price, if not cheaper. And the noodles are better. I will say the spicy mixed dry noodle had a lot of flavor, however a little too salty for my taste. If I were to eat at an Asian restaurant I would rather just go nextdoor. The place is also pretty small and cramped. The service is great tho, the ladies are super sweet and don't worry if you don't speak Chinese. We ordered the beef shank bento box, simmered eggs, brew bamboo shoots , simmered duck wings, and the pork and fish ball soup. The only thing I wouldn't order again is the soup mainly because it's not much bang for your buck. It's literally 4 fish balls (tasty) 3 pork balls (not that tasty) and broth. Its a little hole in the wall place that doesn't really appeal but their food is really not bad! The three of us ordered one dan dan mien, one tomato dried noodle, and their chicken roll. Total came to about 23 with tip so not too bad. The dan dan mien is delicious! Has all the proper flavors packed in with a little kick of garlic. It comes in spicy and nonspicy...next time spicy is on my must try list. The tomato meat noodle is juicy and tasty as well but doesnt beat the dan dan mien. As for the chicken roll, I cannot say because its still sitting in my fridge but I can tell you it looked very crispy and tasty last night. :) seems like a majority of the people to-go their orders since the place is so small but if you're in the area, try it out!
