I needed a place to meet my friend for dinner and I didn't want to spend a ton of dough. Meow Noodles has strong reviews and good prices Meow got my bidness! It's a really nice, clean, casual noodle place. I like that the menu is simple and not overwhelming. They have four "chef's choice" noodle bowls that offer the perfect variety so it's easy to get one that fits your taste buds. You can also build your own bowl by choosing a base, and that's what my friend did. Hers actually looked a little better than mine and it had more noodles, and it cost $2 less. Maybe that's the way to go. Anyway, I was happy with what I ordered, which was the fish and seafood bowl. $16.99. Good deal! They also have very nice selection of rice bowls, fried snacks, and beverages. The server was super nice. There are QR codes at the table, but the server took our order at the table. They have a few dedicated parking places right next to the restaurant, but if they are full, there's a big, 2 hour City of Alhambra parking lot just north of 6th and Main that's just a three minute walk. They have plenty of indoor seating and also plenty of picnic tables outside if you want to dine al fresco. I'd definitely go back if I were in the area.
There's street parking or a structure parking nearby. Inside is clean and there's a decent amount of seating. The staff are really nice and the food arrived at a decent pace. The fried dumplings were quite tasty. It had a good crunch and not too temperature hot. I also got the bulgogi rice bowl. The egg was just okay. The bulgogi and onions were pretty good! This can be a good place for a meal with friends/family.
From Hot Pot to Rice Noodle -- A Warm Surprise on Main Street This place used to be California Hot Pot, but it's now transformed into a cozy spot that serves Chinese rice noodles instead. It's located on Main Street near 6th Street, and on the side of the building, you'll spot the sign "Cakelly Plaza." Across the street, you'll find the UPS Store and Cathay Bank, and right next door is the Social Security Administration office. There's a small shared parking lot next to the restaurant, plus street parking if that fills up. Small Space, Big Comfort The interior is pretty small -- about eight tables, each seating two to five people -- but it feels warm and inviting. Service was great and the food came fairly quick. I ordered the tomato soup base rice noodles with beef, and it was delicious! The soup was piping hot, rich in flavor, and absolutely perfect for cold weather. They offer multiple soup base options and even have single or duo combo meals. The quality of the rice noodles and sliced beef definitely stands out -- better than most rice noodle spots I've tried. Final Thoughts I'd honestly give this place a 4.5, but since my overall experience was great and there wasn't a single bad thing about it, I'll round it up to a 5-star rating. If you're craving something warm, flavorful, and comforting -- this spot is definitely worth checking out!
The restaurant has a small parking lot in the back. They have indoor seating. Fairly small restaurant. We tried the beef stew rice noodle and pickled pepper rice noodle. Both were very different and very good. I can't choose a favorite because they tasted so different and good in their unique ways. My husband wanted the plum juice. He thought it was great but I didn't care for the musky taste. Staff was nice. Service was good.
Easy cheap fast weekday kinda noodle spot. The menu is basically all the same toppings but with different soup bases. It's not superbly filling but it leaves space for boba and dessert. The fried chicken wings were surprisingly crispy and good Parking is abundant in the lot. There's essentially no line and maybe 1 other table there when we went during peak dinner time weekday.
Vegan review: I came here randomly because I was at a celebration of life nearby. I spoke with the server and she told me that anything can be modified to vegan and she understood what it was. I ordered the Tomato Soup Base with veggies & tofu only, and no eggs. Delicious and flavorful broth. I had it twice for both lunch and dinner. Adding extra topping is expensive though. I paid $2 for more shredded tofu skin. The server gave me a cute to go bag. There's one gender neutral restroom. Will definitely come here again.

The staff stayed attentive and efficient, and the dishes came out fresh and tasty. I also like that they offer combo options for one person or for two people -- super convenient whether you're dining solo or sharing. One thing to note: they don't accept credit cards for bills under $20 unless you're willing to pay the credit card processing fee. Just something to keep in mind before you go. Overall, a great experience -- I'd definitely come back!
If you're looking for a comforting meal in Alhambra, you should definitely check out Meow Rice Noodle! This Chinese restaurant serves rice noodles in a variety of different broths with different toppings of your choosing. I especially like that the soup felt clean and healthy. I tried their signature chrysanthemum original rice noodles which come with a variety of toppings like chicken, beef, ham, shrimp, quail eggs, and veggies and I loved it! I would definitely recommend this if you're looking for a clean soup with a good amount of toppings. The soup was very rich in the bone broth flavor yet felt clean. The rice noodles were nicely cooked and there was a filling portion in the bowl. I didn't taste too much of the chrysanthemum but it was still a good tasting broth. I also tried their bulgogi rice bowl and it was essentially a thin sliced beef bowl similar to yoshinoya but with kimchi and a fried runny egg on top which made it really good! Their appetizers were also delicious! I enjoyed their fried chicken wings which was lightly salted and seasoned well and also their fried squid which was strong in the squid taste. I tried their special iced lemon tea and the Yaxi lemon tea which is the "duck poop fragrance" Chinese specialty tea. Both were super refreshing and I enjoyed Yaxi lemon tea for the subtle taste of fragrant tea. The workers were attentive and very helpful in giving recommendations. They have parking in the lot next to the restaurant although it can be limited. There are also plenty of parking structures close by.

Got the 招牌菊花原味米线 or Signature Chrysanthemum Original Rice Noodles for $16.99 and the 芝麻球 or Sesame Ball for $5.95. The 招牌菊花原味米线 or Signature Chrysanthemum Original Rice Noodles was really good and we would definitely get it again. The 芝麻球 or Sesame Ball were good and crispy. Unfortunately, they were really small (about a quarter size each).

I came here on a Sunday night to have dinner with my friend, my husband and our little girl dog as an Early birthday celebration. The reason why this restaurant was chosen was because it is dog friendly and somewhat in the middle between where we live and where my friend lives. There are 3 wooden tables right outside (please note that they are not covered seating), to the right of the restaurant, in their parking lot. We arrived around 6:25 pm and my friend came a little before 6:40 pm since she was running late. I let the servers know inside that we will be sitting outside. We were brought menus and paper placemats right away. After looking over the menu, we ended up ordering: Popcorn Chicken, $7.95 prior to tax- My husband thought it would be good to start off with an appetizer. The portion size was fine to share and I thought the chicken was okay. But I did think it was a little on the salty side. Spicy Beef Shank Rice Noodle, $13.99 prior to tax- My husband and our friend decided to each order this bowl, as the employee who took our order had suggested this dish if you like eating spicy foods. This dish had slices of pork, bok choy and plenty of noodles, but not sure what else it had since I didn't have any. My friend really loved her bowl, but my husband didn't. He felt the spice was too numbing and couldn't really taste the flavors. He wouldn't order this dish again. The portion size of this dish is plenty for one person. Signature Chrysanthemum Original Rice Noodle, $15.99 prior to tax- I opted for this signature dish and really loved it. My dish had chicken, ham and beef slices, shrimp, bok choy, quail eggs corn and rice noodle. The soup was a whitish color and I requested for it to have no spice added to it since I do not eat spicy foods. I really enjoyed this dish and loved the flavor of the soup. I felt very filled after eating it and would order this dish again. My husband also really liked my dish too. ------------------------------------ (Total= $57.24 after tax, prior to tip) Please note that this restaurant does not take Discover, as my friend tried to pay for the bill with it (but my husband fought for the check, lol, and paid for it). Because we were sitting outside, I was afraid the employees would forget about us, but they were pretty good at checking up at us a few times during our dinner. We were given a large water bottle so that we could refill our own water glasses and also had it refilled at least once during our meal. There are some tables inside, but the space in general is small. The night we came, the place wasn't busy, but there were customers. There is only one restroom inside and was clean during our visit. Overall, I really liked this restaurant and wasn't expecting to like it as much as I do. I would love to come back here in the near future.
I was super sad to hear that California Hot Pot is no longer at this location, but decided to give Meow Rice Noodle a try! We got the smashed cucumber salad, fried squid, and chrysanthemum noodle soup. 6.5/10 on the cucumber salad. It was as expected, but they did give us a big portion which was nice for sharing. 8/10 on the fried squid! It was the right amount of crispy and chewy. They also gave a dry cumin powder that really complements the flavor. Would definitely get again! 7.5/10 The Chrysanthemum noodle soup had a very light and fulfilling soup base. I wasn't a huge fan of being sat next to the bathrooms since you could really smell it from the table. This kinda ruined the experience for me and made it hard to enjoy the food with the cleaning/bathroom smell. Also, the water had a very tap water taste to me. I might just be picky, but it was also served room temperature so the flavor was even stronger. The ambiance/environment was a bit lackluster. The cool thing about them though is that their soups come in large ladles which is a cute concept. The parking was relatively easy and the service was friendly!
My friend wanted to try this place and I agreed to it! We got a few things off their menu! We split the sausage and fried squid from their appetizers menu. My noodle broth tasted clean while my friend has a little kick of spice and sour. Personally I liked her noodle more just because it was packed with flavors. I got the signature chrysanthemum original rice noodle and my friend got pickled peppers sliced rice noodle. The rice noodle was soft and is a good change if you're looking to trying something new.
Parking: Nearby street parking available, as well as a small adjacent parking lot. Ambience: Small, cozy! Lots of wooden designs Service: Friendly, no complaints! Taste: Got the signature chrysanthemum original rice noodles and the golden durian rolls. The noodles were great! Consisted of a large portion size with plenty of ingredients to fill the bowl, the broth was savory and comforting, and the noodles were chewy. The durian rolls were good, but the durian flavor seemed more artificial / oily than anticipated. Overall, would come again for the comforting soups!

Was craving rice noodles so decided to give this place a try as it's been on my radar. I think it was okay, but not as amazing as I expected. Menu option is kind of limited. I went with the tomato and sliced beef for $14.99. This came with bean sprouts, which I wasn't aware of, and there was a lot of bean sprouts inside - almost as much as there was rice noodle. Not a fan of bean sprouts but will eat if I need to, but in this case - it totally overwhelmed the dish. There also wasn't enough rice noodle for me. Everything else was good, but that kinda blew it for me. Also got the spicy soup with beef and tomatoes. This is more of a gentle burn in spice they slowly works its way up. It's good if you like spice. Restaurant wasn't too busy when we arrived but got a good amount of customers by the time we were leaving. Workers are friendly. Not sure if I'd be back though. Lots of street parking or a small lot to the side. read more
One of my favorite noodle spot in SGV area. My go to dish would be tomato sliced beef rice noodles- the tomato soup base is the perfect balance of sweet and tart. The portion rice is very generous, I can never finish and would end up taking leftovers. Parking: they have a lot next to the restaurant, I never had an issue with finding a spot. The only downside is they don't have their AC on during the summer. I remember one time I was sweating while eating and it was very uncomfortable. read more
Overall, Meow Noodles is more of a 3.5-star restaurant. Beef Stew Noodles (老广牛腩米线) - 3/5. The noodle soup was enjoyable overall, with good texture and well-cooked noodles. However, the broth felt unbalanced, with an overpowering umami flavor that dominated the dish. By the end of the meal, I was left feeling very thirsty, which took away from the experience. With a more balanced soup base, this could be an excellent dish. Popcorn Chicken - 4/5. I like this appetizer. The chicken used is the right kind of meat, making the fried chicken tender on the inside. The batter is good, and the frying was well executed, resulting in moist, crispy popcorn chicken. All this sprinkled with the right amount of seasoning and salt. I came to Meow Rice Noodle for lunch with a friend and it was a good spot! I tried the Spicy Sliced Beef Rice Noodles and it was extremely flavorful and filling. The noodles, meat, and vegetables soaked up the broth well. I really enjoyed the dish and the portion size. I couldn't even finish it. Amazing food, great taste, affordable price! We got these dishes: -spicy sliced beef noodle -spicy minced pork rice noodle -pickled peppers sliced beef rice noodles -kimchi and sliced beef rice noodles -tomato beef shank rice noodles -iced lemon tea Each dish costed around $14-$17 and it was pretty good portion. The flavor was amazing, with great spiciness and umaminess. Service was awesome too, servers were so kind :) Would definitely come again! read more

Unagi rice bowl 4.5/5 Spicy sliced beef rice noodle 3.5 /5 Kimchi and sliced beef rice noodle 4/5 ------------- Arrived during lunch time and got seated fairly quickly! The service was not the best, but it seems like she was the only one working. However, the food was great! Perfect for the cold and gloomy weather we've been getting. read more
Came here round 4pm to cus I was craving a noodle soup. Cute small shop right across a sidewalk. The door was an unpainted windowless brown board which made me thought it was an empty shop without the sign above, but it had see through window panels on the sides, Just thought that was peculiar. I ordered the Combo B of kimchi and sliced beef and sausage and coke. Food was delightful overall, but music was a bit loud. they handled the food on top of like two small cutting boards. I think it's funny how they probably just cooked the food in the pot they gave me with the long vertical handle. Love the ice cold drink. Overall a cute spot. may or may not come back. the spam in my noodle soup is kinda questionable, not gourmet. read more
Meow Rice Noodle has some unique features, like the metal bowls that keep your noodles warm throughout your meal--definitely a cool touch. We tried their chrysanthemum signature broth, and while it didn't taste much like chrysanthemum, it was still pretty good overall--filling, nutritious, and comforting. The toppings were hit or miss: Beef, spam, and noodles were all solid--good textures and flavors. Chicken felt unnecessary and didn't add much flavor to the dish. Located in Downtown Alhambra this spot serves up some pretty solid rice noodle soups. Came in a little after it opened and there was still plenty of seats. This spot is pretty unique since the soup bowls come in huge ladles. I ordered through the QR code that was connected to the table and the food came shortly after. I tried out these items. Pickled Pepper Soup with Sliced Beef Noodles - Flavors were actually really nice, slightly sour from the pickle and soup came super hot (warm). The sliced beef was nice and noodles were perfectly cooked. I liked this. (4.5/5) Spicy Soup with Fish Fillet - The fish was delicious. Be warned the soup actually is quite spicy. It's got that schezwan kick to it forsure so if you can't handle the spicy don't get this one or ask for it to be less spicy. The perfect casual meal on a cold winter evening! I love eating in Alhambra because there's no shortage of delicious Asian food, and Meow Rice Noodle is no exception. First, the parking lot makes it so convenient to visit. The menu is also very easy: you pick your soup base (I went with tomato, the only non-spicy option), protein (there's pork, beef, etc), and you get rice noodles in a delicious soup with veggies! Souper simple, souper delicious. The service is quick and efficient, and the atmosphere is warm and cozy. Although my friend and I stayed late chatting and catching up, they didn't rush us or made us feel like we needed to leave - even though we realized we stayed until they needed to close! Meow Rice Noodle took over California Hot Pot, but kept the same layout and the way you order. I came with my cousin on a weekday night right before a rush and was able to easily find seating and order through the QR code. Food came out really quick and everything was super hot, so it was perfect the chilly night. I ordered the spicy fish filet rice noodle and we shared the cucumber salad. I can probably pass on the cucumber salad - as much as I love cilantro, I think it was more of a cilantro salad than cucumber. The noodles came with a generous amount of veggies and fish, but everything got too salty about halfway through. Overall a solid spot on Main St for a quick dinner! read more
It was our first time here, and we chose this place because small dogs were allowed. If you have been to California hot pot, the seating layout is the same, and with two picnic tables for outdoor seating. We ordered squid snack to share, and each of us ordered a noodle. Their noodles were good and the portion was perfect. The price was +/-$22pp. The service was great too! They were very attentive, and also offered water for our furry too! A good place for rice noodles, and I really loved their broth! My go to is their sliced beef rice noodles, portions were good too. The restaurant is also very clean. Not to mention, when you order takeout, they pack everything so nicely! Service was fast too! Note: there is a small parking lot right next to the restaurant although all seem to be compact sized, street parking is plenty too if you have a larger car. And, they also do happy hour from 2-6pm for snacks and drinks. read more

Any restaurant that features a cat theme is sure to capture my attention, even more so if there are noodles involved. Meow Rice Noodle offers a unique menu made up of noodle soups with creative soup bases such as their signature Chrysanthemum, tomato, green pepper and spicy--all served from a unique presentation out of a copper pot with a huge ladle. I highly recommend the Tomato Sliced Beef Noodle which comes with a pipingly hot sweet and savory tomato broth along with thin fatty slices of beef, bouncy rice noodles, wood ear mushroom, baby bok choy, corn kernels and tofu strips. And if you order a side of sliced fish, even better! For appetizers, you can't go wrong with the salt and pepper squid, which is freshly fried. The staff is friendly and the food comes out relatively quickly. The restaurant is a little on the small side with a cozy, neighborhood restaurant ambiance. I did have to deduct one star because of a strange, noticable smell that seemed to emanate from the bathroom or pipes, which took away from the dining experience. I'm hoping it'll be fixed by the next time I visit. read more
Called ahead for a party of 6. Parking is interesting, from Atlantic you can turn into the car wash driveway and go into the alley or off Maine, you can make a right into the entrance only driveway. Staff were friendly, I enjoyed my signature chrysanthemum broth rice noodles. It tasted even better with the chilli oil they offered. Near the end of our meal there was a foul smell. We were next to the restroom so we think it was that. Wouldn't mind trying their spicy noodles the next time I'm in the area. read more
This was a random pick for us. I honestly did not know what this location served but I have to say I enjoyed it. We arrived when it had just opened. Nice and clean not a lot of sitting like some reviews say it's small but cozy. The service was ok. Now my Kimchi & sliced beef rice noodles was amazing! It was perfect. They serve it in this pot with a long handle I don't know how to explain it or how to even call it but I loved it. They give you a huge soup spoon and chopsticks. Been really loving rice noodles, so we tried this place. It was good. We got the tomato sliced beef rice noodles and tomato fish fillet rice noodles (not pictured. The fish fillet one is clearer than the beef one as the beef one was a bit oily, due to beef haha. Both were good. It was served very hot. The noodles were a great texture. Some friends and I decided to come try out this new spot for some noodle soup. Of course, the fact that the noodles come in a life-size ladle pot catches your eye first. I opted for the Spicy Beef Shank Rice Noodles ($13.99), which had a mala spice. Because the mala is strong, this gave a good balance to the flavors while my friends' Tom Yum Rice Noodles lacked some flavor. It's there, but it's light. We also ordered the Popcorn Chicken ($7.95) and Smashed Cucumber Salad ($4.99) as starters, which ironically came out after our main entrees. The popcorn chicken was pretty good while the cucumbers could use more flavor (maybe if they let it marinate longer). Overall, decent meal but not really anything special enough to have me come back amongst the many options in 626. read more
