3.5 stars I think this might be my second time eating here. The first time I tried this restaurant was maybe back in 2021, when we had a family friend in town. I don't remember what we ordered that time, but I do remember that nothing has changed. It is still a hole-in-the-wall type of restaurant. My mom thinks it's a Chiu Chow restaurant, but there's Vietnamese translation, so it could mixed. We're not sure. This time, these are what my mom and I ordered: Shaken Beef w/ Red Rice ($18.95): if you like your steak at medium rare, this place does a decent shaken beef. Personally, I took most of the beef home to cook again b/c I do prefer it medium-well/well-done. Otherwise, the beef was tasty and the red rice was satisfying. Portion was huge. 4/5 stars House Chow Fun ($16.95): Mom ordered the wet version. It came with beef, chicken, shrimp, canned mushrooms, bean sprouts, and some greens. It is tasty fresh, but it does get soggy if you got leftovers to take home. 3.5/5 stars Free parking on site, but parking is small and limited. If you're normally a solo diner, there is a good chance you'll be sharing a table with other solo diners during lunch/dinner rushes. I thought it was good and would definitely come back. I would recommend to anyone who isn't squeamish about hole-in-the-wall mom-n-pops.
CASH ONLY Decided to give this spot a try and was pleasantly surprised. It's a small, cozy restaurant with attentive and friendly service. I ordered their promotional dine-in-only noodle dish with thick yellow noodles, and it did not disappoint. The dish was flavorful and generously portioned, loaded with tender pork, ground meat, boiled shrimp, and crispy fried shrimp for a great mix of textures. It also came with a side of soup! Overall, a solid experience. I'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu.
Just another hidden gem that's been there for 50 years.. most importantly it tasted exactly the same after all these years..everything's as fresh as it gets. Places I hope they will be in business forever
Tried this place twice in two weeks! LOL Both times, good experience. Good food, great flavors, and filling. It reminds me of Kim Kee Noodle House. I like this place cause it's more open space. The Kim Kee in MPK is pretty small. Please note, this place also only accepts cash. Remember to bring cash if you wanna stop by!

The interior is small and looks old but decently clean. This is a casual noodle eatery spot for the locals. Reasonable price with generous portions. Staffs were warm, friendly, and efficient. The waitress gave us extra soup to go with our leftovers. We usually get the house special rice noodle soup. The soup broth is light and flavorful. It comes with a lot of toppings; shrimps, fish cakes, fish balls, chicken, kidney, and ground pork. There's different types of noodles that you can choose from. The green hot pepper on the table is very fresh and the satay sauce is delicious, they paired well with the noodles. This is a "CASH ONLY" restaurant!
if you are in the 626 area I definely reccomend stopping by here! I feel like this restraunt is such an underrated gem. my family comes here every weekend to get the bo luc lac (lol we get 3 orders each time) and every time we come it always hits. the portions are HUGE, comes with a soup, tomato rice, and beef cubes. The beef cubes are so tasty and so soft and tender, they quite literally melt in your mouth. omg and the rice is actually so yum. I actually am not the biggest fan of rice, but this rice I can eat like everyday and will not get sick of it. the rice is just so tasty and goes so well with the beef. definely reccomend mixing in some satay and eating jt with the beef and rice.

The restaurant was desolate on a Sunday evening, which has been the scene for the past few months. Not that many customers are eating here. I ordered a beef and shrimp soup with vermicelli and egg noodles, it came out fast and tasted decent. However, I did not expect to have to pay $16 for it because on the poster on the wall, the exact thing I ordered was $11. I am confused why there is inaccurate pricing. And they took cash only without telling me beforehand.
The "House Special Noodles" and "Filet Mignon Cubes" are popular items on the menu and recommended. House Special Noodles with soup included on the side were pretty bland by itself for my taste. I added their housemade XO sauce or shacha sauce from the condiment caddy on the table and it was so much better. Their Pan Fried Chives Cake was delicious! Sam's Noodle Station specializes in Chinese regional Chiu-Chow/Teo Chew noodles. Specifically Chiu-Chow- Vietnamese. Noodles and Appetizers are what I like here, but there are other dishes you can try to see what suits your palate. This place has a second location called: Macky Noodles in Monrovia, Ca. CASH ONLY!
A super great option to Kim Ky or Kim Tar. Wonderful hole in the wall that serves Chiu Chow Noodles. The wait goes by uber fast; I promise. Patrons eat and leave. They know the drill. Most patrons (probably 85-90%) that was there were regulars. You can tell because they don't need to read the menu and/or Boss Lady remembers their order. Boss Lady has impressive memory and super efficient. The noodles come out quick and hot. The only thing I would do differently on my next visit would be to skip the 'dry' noodle option. Will return for sure!
Our first time trying Sam's Noodle Station. My mom and I went there on the weekend, and it's located inside a strip mall on Valley in Alhambra. Parking can be difficult coz they have many businesses in the plaza. We both ordered their #1 House Special Rice Noodles, and I picked the mixed noodle with round yellow noodles and rice vermicelli. It had 3 shrimps, some fish balls, chicken meat, pork kidney, etc. It's similar to Kim Ky, but the food quality was not as good as Kim Ky's, and their soup broth was not as flavorful. The shrimps were fresh, though. It was lacking flavor overall.
I was in Gardena this afternoon and at first I wanted ribeye steak, then Vietnamese pho and then the pork kidney noodles that I haven't had for awhile so i yelp it in Alhambra because I needed to buy some things close by. From ribeye steak to pork kidney noodles, haha that's funny. Anyway, there were a couple of places that had them but they closed early and this is the only place that is open till 7 pm, when I first walked in, there was nobody inside besides the lady owner sitting at the table and she spoke Cantonese, Mandarin and English. First I spoke Cantonese but then she said something I didn't understand so we spoke English lol. I want the pork kidney noodles with some extra pork kidneys, I didn't know it was one big plate of it. I got the noodles with rice noodles, I don't like the yellow egg noodles. It was good, the broth was lite and refreshing, I think is a chicken broth, I could be wrong. There's only 1 pieces of pork kidney in the whole bowl and it was tough like it was cooked too long and it got chewy. There was a couple of shrimp, some chicken breast pieces and minced pork with beans sprouts. I felt like it was missing something because I had it before at another restaurant. The taste was a little different but still satisfying. The pork kidney strips were great but is a little too oily. There was some cut up lettuce on the bottom of the dish and some ginger with scallions on top of the sliced pork kidneys, I think it was oily because it was poured on top with the soy sauce, is a good flavor but still too oily for me. It reminds me of the days when I would chopped the cabbage and cooked it with garlic and soy sauce with lots of oil, it makes a good side dish when you're poor and living in Santa Monica by the beach lol. The lady was really nice and she doesn't come over to check up on you but is a small restaurant, is ok. Then it got busy, a couple of people came in and she got a couple of to go orders. Is a good environment and the price is fair. There's other restaurants and shops in the plaza too, there's plenty of parking but is tight.

I am a long time fan of authentic and traditional Chaozhou-style egg noodles soup. I frequently dine-in and do take-out at three noodle houses in SGV. I most recently discovered one more noodle house located on Valley Blvd at Valley Square shopping center in Alhambra. YES, it is Sam's Noodle Station! I was super happy to find out that Sam's business hours are 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM daily. Sam's is now my favorite noodle house because they close later in the day compared to the other 3 noodle houses that closes earlier. Thank you Sam's! My Mom and I came here for a late Saturday lunch. Love the nice open clean place with lots of inside seating. Decor is very simple. Tables have chopsticks, spoons, and sauce dish plus various condiments. They will bring the green chili peppers and house-made satay sauce to the table. Love their spicy and tasty satay sauce! Menu had great noodle and rice choices. Prices were very reasonable. You can choose your preferred type of noodles. For certain dishes, you may choose how you want your noodles either soup inside the bowl or served "dry" with a tasty bowl of warm broth on the side. I have tried both versions and they are both very good. I went with my usual... Shrimp & Fish Fillet Egg Noodle Soup (dry-style). Huge portions of thick egg noodles with 4 fillet fishes (taste could have been better, slices could have been thicker), 4 big sweet shrimps, bean sprouts, green onions, and fried onions plus a small bowl of light and flavorful chicken broth. It was SO GOOD. I didn't have any leftovers. Btw, side of chives and bean sprouts are given upon request. My Mom tried the Hainan Chicken with Rice. Big chucks of chicken pieces, 3-4 tender Chinese broccoli stalk with leaves, and chicken flavored rice on a plate plus a small bowl of chicken broth. She enjoyed it very much. YUM! For take-out, I ordered 1 Filet Mignon with Egg Noodles for my youngest daughter. If she likes it, this may be our go-to for it. They also sell their amazing Sam's house-made satay chili sauce for $8.50. I couldn't resist and bought one jar. Super friendly lady staff who provided amazing and attentive service. She made sure we had all that we needed. She refilled my water without me asking. Thank you! Highly recommend Sam's! Looking forward to sharing this place with my family and friends. Decided to give this place another try and I gotta say I am impressed that their food tasted better and service was improved. We were seated right away and our food arrived promptly. Ordered their pork kidney noodles with soup on the side, shaken beef with red rice, and rice flour cake with eggs and scallions. Everything tasted so much better than expected. Very attentive and quick service. Sadly, they still don't accept credit card here. read more

This beef and tendon wide noodle soup was recommended by the waitress as I didnt know what to order, too many choices. This was really good,and the chef definitely did not skim on the beef tendon. read more

Came a little late (6:15ish and they close at 7:00) but there were still lots of regulars. Service is quick with a no fuss feeling. Ordered the special noodle that was advertised on the wall for $12.99. Shrimp, pork slices and ground pork. Comes with the yellow noodle/Rice Noodles combo which is unique to the Kim Ky/Sam's Noodle station noodle places. Shrimp were surprisingly large and very fresh. We also ordered the Diced Filet Mignon with Black Pepper Sauce. A little pricier at $18.95 but the steak had a great sear, very tender and portion is generous. read more

This is still a go-to stop whenever I visit California. The service is so wonderful. When we were there to dine, they were offering a special where you buy four dishes and you get one for free. The green tea iced was free as well. Just so many great deals when you go during the lunch hour. It's a small restaurant but there's plenty of seating. It can get busy during lunch time because everyone is here to eat. The food is still very tasty and delicious. I love the bo luc lac with the red rice. Super tasty and delicious. I've had several other items from their menu from noodle soup to fried turnip cakes. And they've all been delicious. read more

CASH ONLY!! Came here on a Saturday afternoon and was seated for two right away. The place is clean and the restaurant was slowly getting packed for the lunch rush. I ordered the house special noodles with thick egg noodles and it was pretty good! There is a variety of noodles you can select with your order. Size wise, the house special order came with alot of noodles and meat/shrimp. My uncle detected a big of MSG in our orders which I personally did not mind. Although the kidney side order wasn't too flavorful, I enjoyed it. The kidneys was perfectly cooked and came with plenty of chili, ginger and green onions which paired well. Service wise, our waiter was a kind man who spoke English and Chinese. The waitress on the otherhand was a bit rude. There was a miscommunication between us and her attitude was just very off putting (The miscommunication wasn't even my fault, she was at fault). Parking can get super packed here during lunch hours so I would recommend parking at the 168 Market lot next door and then walking over. For two bowl of noodles + a side order, the price was $41 which is pricey but worth the amount of food we had! read more

We ate here for lunch and it was great service! The dry noodles w soup on side was my favorite, everything was yummy and big portions! Our server was rlly nice and made sure to check up on us a few times. We will come back again for sure! read more

The menu is overwhelming but gracias a Yelp for helping narrow down some of the favorites here! We tried a couple flat noodle rice dishes here and for around $12 each- my goodness what a great value and taste for that price! Noodles and ingredients were fresh and the broth (which we asked for on the side) was subtle and not salty. The dishes paired well with the table-side hot chili peppers and fish paste. Sam's reminds me of the best of SGV- a well priced Vietnamese /Chinese noodle shop filled with locals with minimal ambience but friendly service. Recommend that you stop here if you're driving down Valley blvd! read more
Ordered the been cubes with pasta. The beef was well seasoned and tender along with the pasta had great flavor. The sauce they use for the pasta was delicious. Really enjoyed this dish. This was $20. To go service was quick and easy. The place looks clean. Parking was fairly easy. read more

We always enjoy their noodles. We get the seafood noodle and the fishball noodles. Good portions. Similar to Kim Ky but without the long lines. Seems like they have a dine in special. read more
I've always heard stories about people going to an Asian restaurant and getting yelled at or having rude encounters with the staff. Well yesterday was my lucky day! This was the first time ever that it had happen to me! Walked in with my family and the lady immediately sat us right next to another family sitting side by side. I requested to sit it he back booth where we'd be at a more comfortable distance from everyone. The staff told my family sternly and loudly that we needed to sit right there and look at the menu before fixing up that table for us. We were all taken aback like what the heck... everyone was now looking at us weirdly and I felt uncomfortable and prefer to get up and leave however my family chose to eat there. 5 minutes in and she moved us to the back booth. She was really hotheaded with us and our food came out staggering. We did not dare ask when I'd receive my meal after about 25 minutes from everyone else's food arriving. The complementary broth was good. My cousin ordered fried rice and a noodle soup dish. I ordered crispy chow mien with beef. Food was okay 4/10, and pretty pricey. I will suggest other options next time my family has this place in mind. read more

One of my friends recommended this Chiu Chow restaurant and I was like "huh you can actually place an online order on their website and pick up in person." The ordering process was relatively easy and I got an email stating my order is ready for pick up 15 minutes after I had received an order confirmation. Please note that #85 has several options - chow fun (flat noodle) or chow mein (thin noodle) & gravy or dry. I never heard of gravy style so that was what I ordered, but personally I would recommend dry instead of gravy style. I got to the restaurant and told the only waitress that I am here for pick-up. Somehow I ended up waiting outside for another 5-10 minutes and had to walk back in again to ask for my order. *** #1 Assorted Meat & Shrimp W/ Rice Noodles (Flat Rice Noodles, $9.95): It was an excellent noodle bowl - flavors were on the point and I was pretty satisfied with this order. #85 House Special Chow Fun (Gravy Style Chow Fun, $13.05): Not exactly what I was looking for because it did not look like the one shown on the front page of their website. I mean gravy wasn't all that bad, but I was totally expecting some shrimps and seasoned chow fun cooked via gravy instead of both chow fun & broth getting separated. *** Convenient online order process, inefficient pick-up process, and relatively tasty food. This chiu chow restaurant seems to specialize dry style chow fun and that's probably what I will stick with if I do come back here again. P.S. - Outdoor seating is not available. read more
