    stewed brisket wonton lo mein
    Erik G.

I've wanted to come here for a long time, but my wife wasn't interested. Conveniently located in the GW Supermarket food hall, they specialize in Cantonese-style dishes. You won't find a better deal in the area! It's a great value. I ordered the stewed brisket wonton lo mein, as a friend, Cindy S., had it before. I should have read her review more carefully; she said it was decent, and that's exactly how I felt. The dumplings were okay, but I found a hard piece of cartilage in one, which I had to spit out. I'm glad my son wasn't eating it, as it could be a choking hazard. The egg noodles were also okay, nothing special. The best part was the brisket smothered in gravy. Overall, it was a decent dish, but I wouldn't go there for it. If I do go back, I'll try their #1 bestseller, the wonton noodle soup.

the wonton soup is good, but for me nothing special to it. the beef tripe is just ok for me.

Located at the Food Court inside the Garvey Square Shopping Center. This little mom and pop restaurant, serving a variety of Chinese food, cook to order. You order the food at the counter. They will call your number when your order is ready. You can eat there at the food court or order to go. I ordered the Wonton Noodles Soup. The portion was pretty good for the price. It was delicious. Noodles was tasty and their Wonton is bigger than most places that serve Wonton Noodles Soup. The broth was light. They gave you the chilli oil to spice up the flavor. The ambiance is ok. Since this is in the food court area, seating can be tough to find during lunch time. Overall, the food is good. I suggest you get the food to go instead.

Harlam kitchen is pretty decent for what it is. Located in a food court, we decided to give it a try. The menu is pretty simple with many variations of similar dishes. In terms of the food we got these. Chinese Donut Roll with Rice Sheet - I actually enjoyed this. It's simple but good. Pretty inexpensive too. (4.5/5) Wonton and Beef Stew Noodle Soup - It's not the best noodle soup I've had but its pretty decent. Comes in plastic bowl, not sure if it was going to melt or not since the soup was piping hot. Wontons were aight and beef stew was tasty. (3.5/5) Beef with Fried Noodles - I enjoyed this. Simple but the noodles were crispy and the gravy was tasty. (4/5) Overall solid food for a pretty good price. They are cash only so if you plan to come, make sure to bring cash.

This used to be my go-to for wonton noodle soup but it is under new management as of last year and it's not the same anymore unfortunately! This spot is located inside the food court of GW Supermarket so parking can be chaotic! It has a big parking lot but it's shared with many other businesses. Service was okay, not too friendly or welcoming Menu is very extensive and has a good variety of chow mein, lo mein, rice noodles, fried rice, and wonton noodle soup. Pricing is reasonable ($10-12+). Got the wonton noodle soup ($7.75) and was very disappointed. The wontons used to be huge and stuffed with pork, big pieces of shrimp, and super delicious. Not only have the wontons shrunk in size but there is hardly any shrimp and pork inside! It also doesn't taste as delicious as it used to. It tastes dry and flavorless now unfortunately. The noodles are very hard to chew and just not the same. Won't recommend or return

This might be the only delicious hole in the wall with a health inspection with an A

Located in the food court of the square market shopping plaza, this is definitely a bond fide low key and underrated Cantonese hole in the wall. I've been coming here since I was a kid and the quality of the food and the taste has never changed. Known for their delicious broth and traditional Cantonese dishes, you will not be disappointed. The go to dishes are the wonton noodle soup (with varieties of different types of meat), chicken curry, rice sheet noodle with Chinese donut, and their dry beef chow mien/ chow fun. Service is speedy and efficient. Ask for their chili sauces to compliment their delicious dishes. Plenty of parking but the plaza can get busy on the weekends. Lastly, cash only.

I haven't been to Harlam's Kitchen in many years, not since it used to have its own brick-and-mortar store. I thought Harlam's Kitchen was long gone but found out they relocated inside the GW Supermarket food court. Of course, I had to try them out again and reminisce about how good their 'jaleung' is. I ordered a Wonton Noodle Soup, Rice Noodle Rolls, Congee with Fish Fillet, and Chinese Donut with Rice Sheet Roll. My ultimate comfort food bundle! Everything tasted great, and I was surprised it all came out of that tiny food court kitchen. The only thing missing was more sauce on the rice noodle rolls, like sriracha, peanut sauce, and hoisin sauce. The food court is dingy and vacant, but don't let that fool you. The food here is solid and still retains the same recipes as years ago. I am excited to try their stir-fry dishes next time I visit again.

Soy sauce chow mein, or "fried noodles chow mein"
    Jasmine N.

It's been so many years since I've eaten here (back when there was an arcade next door). Back in the day their soy sauce chow mein was actually good, with a lot of wok hei, and supposedly they had changed owners a while back so it's not the same anymore but let's give it a try again. Definitely lighter in flavor, not as dark, not as enough wok hei as before but there were some noodle bits that charred a little more. They give a little container of chili oil but I honestly prefer it with sriracha. It's not the same as what I remember but it's still not bad, especially for the price of $6.50.

I haven't been to Harlam's Kitchen for a while. They have been there for many years. I drove by to get breakfast at the GW Supermarket plaza on Garvey and San Gabriel Blvd in Rosemead. It's located inside of the food court. I checked the time on Yelp, and it says open at 10 a.m. but glad it was open when I arrived at around 9:30 a.m. The prices are very affordable from $7-$11. It's an authentic HK fast food place at the food court and most people get their wonton noodles, congee, steamed rice rolls, fried noodles, etc. I got their congee with pork & preserved egg and rice roll with fish fillet. The congee texture and flavor were good and had a lot of preserved egg and shredded pork meat inside. The steamed rice roll with fish fillet was okay, it had a lot of fish fillet in the fillings but the rice roll skins were thick though. It looked bland but tasted good with the sweet soy sauce. If you just wanna grab a cheap and authentic Cantonese-style breakfast or lunch for a to-go, this is a place for you. I would give them 3.5 stars to be fair (I round up to 4 stars). P.S. Cash only

I grew up in the SGV and I would love to come to their food court, especially when they use to have the arcade here. This place has been long standing and food good reason! Food: 5/5 We got the friend noodles with beef gravy and the shrimp dumpling noodles. The food was delicious and fresh to order. The veggies and noodles were nice and springy and the soup was aromatic and flavorful. The shrimp dumplings were delicious, juicy, and plump. Price: 5/5 The two dishes cost only $21 and were a lot of food for the price. We paid in cash, but I'm do not remember if they take card or note. Ambiance: 5/5 The food court is a bit out date, but it is definitely a unique dining experience. It truly reminded me of my childhood and coming to eat here with my parents after shopping at the attached supermarket. Service: 5/5 Order your food and find an open table in the food court. There usually is no wait and the food is made fresh to order. It makes take a little bit of time, but the food is well worth the wait.

Did they close down due to covid? Every time we try to go, we stop by or give them a call, it just rings and goes to a full answering machine. A letter on their gate in front says they'll be closed until March or April but that was months ago.?

Stopped by 9/6/20 and they were closed. Asked a shop nearby and was told they've been closed since March.

The beef loc lac was tough, deep fried fish sauce tasted weird with their sweet sour sauce, pea sprouts which I was trying to change to another dish but couldn't, sure enough was so fibrous & chewy. We also typically get the eggplant, which comes in a huge plate and comes with rice. My dad likes their curry but I'm not super excited about it. Its good, but not exciting, if you know what I mean.
