Flavor was on the lighter side, but nevertheless delicious. They interestingly used mini tofu, which is even smaller than a pea. Hubby tried Burmese Garlic Noodle with chicken. The garlic flavor was powerful enough without being overpowering. We enjoyed the food. I had Burmese Tea for the first time, fully expecting it to taste like Thai Tea, but it was more like (Hong Kong) milk tea which I like. Service was ok. It was a holiday weekend & not busy. Only 1 person was on the floor. The restaurant is located in a strip mall and not the best area. Parking is limited on the ground floor, The day we visited, the underground level was closed.

The noodles were somewhat cold and clumped together making it hard to mix and separate. It reminded me of stale instant noodles. A little bland by itself but with the spicy sauce at the side of the table, it added that extra flavor I think it needed. The tea salad was good as well but I can see how it could be better. It was interesting having a salad mixed with tea leaves and left a good taste. The tea was subtle and not over powering. It was all just a bit mushy once mixed together. I guess I expected the veggies to be a little more fresh and crisp. Overall, I enjoyed being able to try out new foods and experience a new cultures cuisine but I just left feeling like I needed more in terms of satisfaction. The ambience was nice. Rustic, dim and homey vibes with some additional spices and things you could buy in the front. There is also plenty of parking in the lot when we came for dinner. There seems to only be one server so things can take some time but otherwise, the service is good! It's located in a small strip mall with relatively easy parking but some spots can be a bit tight. The interior is simple but definitely "mom and pop" vibes. We ordered Fried Ogo Squash, Paratha with Peas, and Tea Leaf Salad for starters and Prawn Curry and Gravy Rice as mains dishes. All the starters were delicious choices and, although the paratha was a little oily, it went super well with the peas and curry. The prawn curry was a flavor explosion with the prawns being perfectly cooked and the gravy rice was packed with veggies and a good amount of gravy. Some people in our party are vegetarian and everything besides the prawn curry were good choices for them. For desserts and drinks, we ordered RC Trio Delight, Smashed Strawberry Drink, and Rangoon Milk Tea. The RC Trio was a little on the sweet side but refreshing and the smashed strawberry was a delicious yogurt drink filled with strawberry. The Rangoon milk tea is delicious and a not too sweet option. 10/10 would recommend. Already thinking about the next time we come back.

The first thing that stood out to us was the incredibly friendly and attentive service. They were constantly checking in on us and made sure everything was to our liking. Onto the food, we ordered the tea leaf salad, samusas, and tea leaf lamb. Wow. Every dish was delicious! I'm usually not a fan of samosas because of how dense they are, but the samusas were perfect. They are wrapped in a fried and crispy shell and were so much lighter. The tea leaf salad was a must get as well. So many different textures between the pumpkin seeds, peanuts, and greens. The tea leaf lamb was suuuper tender and not gamey at all. The sauce was flavorful and perfectly coated the meat. This restaurant is a total gem and we cannot wait to come back!

The service was great, explaining some foods that were new to us(our first time with Burmese cuisine) The decor was special also . As we were leaving I saw a musical instrument on their counter. So beautiful!!!! We will be going back !!!!

Ordering was quick and we were checked in on a handful of times. The staff were attentive and smiley. I got the Nasi Lemak as that was a personal favourite of mine growing up. It didn't exactly hit the spot but it definitely surprised me in a good way. The chopped up chicken allowed for a crispier exterior but also meant less juicy meat. Cabbage as a side was new to me, but was fresh and creamy. Solid sambal, though I'd personally like it a touch hotter. Overall a different take that works and makes it a wonderful, easy to eat rice dish. Chicken satay was great! Nutty sauce with a crispy garnish. It's missing the smoky flavour but the meat was cooked very well. A casual, family-friendly, hole-in-the-wall restaurant that lives up to it's name.

One reviewer described the place as "barren," and honestly, it is quiet and low-key. But that's part of the charm for me. Not every restaurant needs to be another overly curated, gentrified "hip" spot with hip signs and then charge an arm and a leg for the food. Something is refreshing about the tranquility here, a calm place where you can actually enjoy your meal and conversation. The place is also very clean. The owner is also incredibly friendly, and I enjoy chatting with him. This place has soul. My rating is solely on the food, consistent with all reviews. More importantly, the food delivers solid value, especially given that everything is halal, and the menu blends Malaysian, Burmese, Thai, and other Southeast Asian influences. Kueh Teow Goreng - 3/5. This dish is essentially the Malaysian/Indonesian cousin of Pad See Ew. The noodles were well-balanced in flavor - savory without becoming overly salty - and the beef was tender and paired nicely with the dish. The rice noodles are fresh. While it didn't quite reach the smoky "wok hei" heights that make the best versions unforgettable, it was still satisfying and thoughtfully prepared. Goat Curry - 3/5. I also tried the goat curry, which I enjoyed quite a bit. They use the right cuts of goat meat: tender, bone-in pieces that add depth and richness to the curry. The spice balance was good and comforting without overpowering the dish. I do wish the curry had a bit more tang and heartiness to push it to the next level, but overall, it was flavorful and enjoyable. The naan served alongside it was fresh, though I personally would've liked it a little fluffier. Overall, Mutiara Food & Market serves good, honest food at affordable prices. It may not be flashy, but it offers something increasingly rare: comforting halal Southeast Asian food in a peaceful, unpretentious setting.
