    Sweet Pork Roll
    Lucy W.

I can eat this all day, every day. Im not exaggerating! Super pleasantly surprised at the Owner's take on these kimbap twists! Don't think of it as kimbap -- forget everything you know about traditional Korean kimbaps, and dont you dare call it a sushi roll. You're more cultured than that! Thai chicken curry: quinoa with beautiful orange sweet potatoes, crunchy and sweet red bell peppers, flavorful yellow Thai chicken curry, Thai basil, and all wrapped up in seaweed and cut into bite size with a savory coconut curry dip on the side. Sweet pork: quinoa with sweet and savory ground pork, aromatic cilantro, egg, spinach, crunchy pickled radish wrapped up in seaweed and served with a side of chili maple dip. Both were phenomenal! I am so glad I tried Ganchic and would recommend it to everyone.

    Thai Chicken Roll, $16.50

Thai Chicken Roll Price: $16.50 Rating: this is so unique!! I got the Thai coconut curry, which comes with organic chicken breast, red bell pepper, roasted sweet potatoes, spinach, basil, quinoa, and nori. I loved the coconut curry, which is a bit sweet, savory, and creamy. I wished they gave just a bit more chicken. Overall, all of the ingredients together was a great combination! The rolls are best eaten in one bite since it is made with quinoa instead of sushi rice! Service was EXCELLENT!! Thank you, Christina, for your amazing service!!

The staff who delivered my order curb side was super friendly. The food tastes fresh and healthy. The spicy maple sauce had great flavor and was my favorite party.

One of my favorites spicy anchovy rolls with there famous tangy sauce bon appétit!

How do you find this place? There are no signs or doors that look like anything other than a catering kitchen

Hi, thanks for reaching out! We operate in a shared kitchen space (Crafted Kitchen) so there is no signage. We are currently not accepting individual orders but post our popups and drops on our instagram @ganchic

Are they big? Portions look tiny for the price.

Rolls are huge - totally worth the price. Not only amount of food but most importantly the flavors. I wish I can buy the sauces too so I can put them on everything 🤤

A gem, just across from The Wiltern! There are places nearby with lines...skip them, come here! Bulgogi quesadilla? Amazing. Kimchi steak taco? Beverages? Dynamite. Whiskey with fresh strawberry puree? As good as any tiki bar. Gin with lemonade and lemon cello with sparkling water? Delicious and dangerous. Not for nothing, service has been great both times Highly recommend, looking forward to coming back again!

This was one of the places that we had on a list that we were considering for event venues. It was much smaller than I expected but it could still work for our party. We originally weren't planning to eat here since we had other places to check out but my friends already had a table so we came by to say hi. They tried the food but I didn't so I will skip that part here. Service unfortunately felt very awkward and weird. This takes away from the ambiance in my opinion. We did consider ordering something like dessert (but weren't too keen on the menu) in the short time we were there as a courtesy but it felt very forced and in hindsight would have taken too much time. It just didn't feel warm or friendly at all. Same vibes from hotel staff too (it's inside the Garden Suite Hotel which makes parking slightly easier compared to the rest of the area). We may still return to book an event but to be completely honest I'm not personally inclined to visit again after this experience.

Sampa is located in the Arts District near the intersection of S Hewitt St and E 5th right next to Urth Cafe. There's a parking lot directly across the street from the restaurant but you can also park around the corner by Arts District Park for $5. If it's your first time visiting Sampa, you have to be open minded towards the concept itself. Yes, the dishes here are smaller in portion and costs more than your typical fast casual spot. All the servers here are attentive and offer to help with what to order if you're unsure. For dinner, the Crispy Pasta is their take on crispy pata but served with spinach tagliatelle. The crab fat fried rice is a no brainer and depending on the night you come, I highly recommend the Sinigang xiaolongbao special. You don't have to be Filipino to appreciate what Sampa is doing for the culture, just come by and see for yourself.

Sampa Restaurant…read more This is a review for my experience having brunch at Sampa Restaurant. Sampa specializes in Filipino dishes. "Sampa" is short for sampaguita which is the national flower of the Philippines. WORDS TO DESCRIBE SAMPA: Elevated dining, speakeasy vibes, quality food and service PARKING: Parking can be difficult since it is close to the Arts District, you may want to park in the Public Parking Lot areas FOOD: Lechon fried rice: This dish was exquisite! I loved all of the colors in the rice, which include the fried pork belly, the golden egg yolks, and the pigments of the atchara (atchara: pickled vegetables such as papaya, scallions, and carrots). When I took my first bite of the fried rice, the blend of all of them together was scrumptious! Yes order this dish! 5/5 STEAKSILOG: I would order just the steak alone! The skirt steak was savory, juicy, and mouthwatering! Yummy! 4.5/5 Kare Kare Tamales: This dish was delicious! Kare Kare is one of my favorite Filipino dishes, so when I saw it paired with tamales I was immediately intrigued. The presentation was beautiful. The flavor was rich and unique. The oxtail was tender and the peanut sauce paired well with the savoriness. 4/5 CHICKEN AND PANDAN WAFFLE: This plate was their take on chicken and waffles. The pandan flavor was there, but I wish the waffle was thick, instead it had a crispy thin cookie like texture. 3.5/5 DRINKS: Bartender has skills! Beauty in the booze! I appreciated the artistry in creating our beverages. I loved the details of the flowers and layers of color. Cheers! All in all I had a great time eating at Sampa! I loved the food and service! Maraming Salamat! Sobrang Sarap!

The staff also wears gloves when handling food. There are some hand sanitizers available for customers to use. This place is available for take outs and has some indoor & outdoor seating available with limited capacity. They are not sanitizing in between customers. I mention these things in my reviews for the sake of protecting immunocompromised people like the elderly and people sick with cancer and other illnesses. COVID-19 Vaccination Proof: This establishment currently does not require proof of vaccination. While I was eating my food in this establishment several months ago, I asked if they had any special offers and they were offering some at the moment. They currently do have happy hour. They also do not allow pets in their establishment UNLESS it's a service animal. Parking: The parking lot for this establishment is located behind the restaurant at a local medical building parking lot. It's $1 each 9 minutes with a max of $13. Or you can try to find street parking and walk on over. Food: I ordered a Lychee Martini, Saigon Summer, Mamasan's Shrimp Cake Skewers, Truffle Wok Seared Noodles with Scallop, Slow-Drip Vietnamese Coffee Flan, and Banyan Tree Ice Cream. Before I started ordering, I was immediately given some house made complimentary shrimp chips. I loved how light and airy it was. It also had an amazing crunch. It tasted just like shrimps hahaha. My lychee martini was a crisp, refreshing cocktail that perfectly balances floral sweetness with tart acidity. Order this! The Saigon summer is a spicy, tropical blend of tequila, lime leaf liqueur, agave, butterfly pea infused triplum, and a Thai chili infusion. Not really up my alley, but I'm glad I was able to try it out. I think I dislike anything spicy and super bitter in my drinks. It just tasted odd. Mamasan's shrimp cake skewers features crispy, deep-fried shrimp cakes flavored with kaffir lime and lemongrass. It is served with skewers, charred pineapple, and a sweet garlic chili dip. Definitely get this. It was so crunchy, massive, and mouthwatering. The charred pineapple provided a sour yet sweet taste that helped off set the savory seafood / fishy taste in your mouth. The truffle wok seared noodles with scallop is a dish that combines savory, smoky flavor with luxurious truffle and tender scallops, which bridges the gap between classic Asian stir-fry and Italian comfort food. As a massive sucker for Italian food and all things truffle, this dish was my favorite. The al dente handmade egg noodles were wok-tossed in a rich black truffle sauce with delicious mushrooms, fresh Brussels sprout leaves, and perfectly seared scallops. I loved that I could taste the black truffles. The truffles added a nice rich, earthy, and highly savory flavor with prominent notes roasted nuts. GET THIS DISH!!!!! The slow-drip Vietnamese coffee flan is a silky, rich egg custard infused with bold phin-drip coffee and sweetened condensed milk. It offers a perfect balance of bitter roasted coffee and sweet creamy custard. This dish was super smooth, creamy, and delicious. I loved that Star Leaf added their own twist to this dish by putting a caramel golden cage on top of this already phenomenal tasting dessert. The caramel golden cage gave this flan a nice crunch. This dish wasn't too sweet for me. As a hater of super sweet things, this flan was just right. The banyan tree ice cream was a great way to end the meal. Super refreshing! I got two scoops of Thai tea ice cream and one scoop of the coconut ice cream. Both flavors were fantastic and tasted very creamy. Not too sweet, which is how I like it. Staff: The staff here are very attentive, friendly, welcoming, and polite. Elysha waited on me when I went. She was very attentive, informative, and personable. They accept both cash and credit cards. There is no credit card minimum.
