wow I've never been to a vegetarian place that made food so similar to non vegetarian. The food is absolutely amazing. I am a meat eater and I come here pretty frequent because it's so good. The portions are huge and super affordable. The staff are always so so sweet! Also at the end of your meal they give dessert. Yummy

Flavors were off and didn't taste good. Food took forever to come out and they also ran out of some stuff on the menu for a restaurant that closes at 9pm. Would not return.

#55 Thit Quay Banh Bao (Vegan Pork Belly w/ Steamed Bao)

4.3 stars This is a long overdue review. My mom and I tried this place a while back and ordered 2 items: Banh Cuon (aka rice rolls $12) and Thit Kho (aka braised "pork" belly $14). The banh cuon was surprisingly really good. Typically, it is rolled with minced pork and onions. I don't know what kind of vegan meat they put in here, but it tasted exactly like the non-vegetarian version. We were impressed. 4.5/5 stars The thit kho was also pretty impressive. I believe it's a combination of tofu and a type of tapioca/rice starch mixture that is layered to mimic the texture of pork belly. When served fresh, it was quite tasty. Mom and I decided to get the steamed buns as well to sandwich it (this was extra cost). We took some leftovers home and, unfortunately, it wasn't quite as good the next day. 4/5 stars Service was ok. Interior was clean. I think it's a good option for people who are vegetarian/vegan. We will definitely be back to try other dishes.

I'm honestly amazed every time I come here--everything tastes so good that it's hard to believe it's completely vegetarian! The flavors are rich, authentic, and incredibly satisfying. This has quickly become my go-to spot whenever I'm craving a Vietnamese vegetarian fix. The restaurant is always nice and clean, and the service is consistently warm and attentive. I also love that they give a small complimentary dessert after your meal--such a thoughtful touch that makes the experience feel even more special. If I had one tiny suggestion, it would be for the restaurant to switch to warmer lighting, since the current bright white lighting can feel a bit harsh. But that's truly the only thing I would change. Overall, I highly recommend this place to anyone who loves great food--vegetarian or not. A fantastic spot that never disappoints!

Very nice homey place. Clean and well lit and plenty of parking. Menu offers a good variety. Portion sizes are generous; especially the side vegetables. The veggies are super fresh and plentiful. The taste for each dish are quite bold and matches to a meat version. We enjoyed all of our dishes. I especially enjoyed the bitter melon soup. There were about 6-7 pieces and the 'meat' inside the bitter melon was just like the real deal. The Bi cuon was huge and really stuffed! They even provided 5 bowls of fish sauce! Very generous indeed! What a gem - Will definitely return!!

It was my husband who came across KH Veggie Life, and since I love me some good vegetarian food, I wanted to try this place out. We ordered the Bánh Xèo, Bún bì chả giò thịt nướng and crispy egg noodles (Mì xào Don) - everything was made fast, fresh, and delicious! One of the aunties noticed from afar that our crispy noodles didn't have quite enough gravy (it needed more sauce so the crispy noodles could soften). She came over with a bowl of extra gravy, I was so impressed! It really showed how much care they put into making sure the dish was just right, instead of letting it be a dry noodle dish. Prices were also very reasonable, averaging around $12 per plate, which is a steal for the quality and portion size. There's ample parking in the plaza, and overall, I'd highly recommend this spot if you're in the mood for vegetarian food or have a vegetarian friend w/lots of great options to choose from!

    1) 2 ladies in the front desk were just not professional! They can barely speak English while getting so nervous to answer my question about parking on the green zone! Older one answered me: No, we don't hv it on the menu!!! 2) Nothing attractive on the menu: Deep fried soy bean products on almost every single food items, either w/ rice or noodle dishes. But it's all printed as of" MEAT" items, its substitution not the real meats! The old lady even told me this is "Beef", that is " Pork", etc. Please, be 100% clear about your " meat" items as it's all Vegetarian" style! I ordered the rice noodle w/ roasted " meat". It's deep fried soy bean w/salad. No good flavors. And they don't hv business. I don't suppose they will get business w/none professional services and tasty food items. They do not know how to do business.

Be still my heart! A Vietnamese veggie place opening close to our home?? Yes please! Partner and I came by after voluntarily getting stabbed in the arm by a well-meaning health care practitioner....for our health. So we were looking for some early dinner. Stumbled upon this place - they said they were only open for a couple weeks when we came by. We got the bun and some curry. They also have iced or hot tea for free, and we got some dessert on the house too (I think this is standard - we are not that special). However, their card machine was down that day, and we didn't have cash. I asked the woman who seemed to be the owner if they took Zelle or Venmo (they do not). She offered for us to just come back later "when you have time" to pay. Nooooo....we didn't want to do that. So we left our leftovers on the table and ran out to BoA across the street and got some cash. Upon coming back to the restaurant, the proprietor packed up two larger bowls of the dessert soup (mung bean with tapioca and coconut milk - SO GOOD) for us. And I'm kind of obsessed with their spring rolls, so we got some to go. As some of the others have pointed out, you can't beat the price here. We came mid-afternoon, so the place was kind of empty and quiet. Very casual feel in here. Go give them some love!

Saw recs for this new veggie restaurant on Facebook and decided to give it a try. They have 10% off their first month of opening (Sept 2025). I took my Vietnamese in-laws and they were impressed! I was also pleasantly surprised because Vietnamese dishes I usually don't like (and my mother in law loves...) I actually really liked it! She loves the banh xeo and the crepe is usually too oily and soggy. Plus, bean sprouts aren't my favorite. The one here though had the right amount of crisp and flavor. Amazing! The duck and mushroom soup also was a nice surprise. Instead of coming with raw veggies like other noodle soups, it came with a side salad with sliced vege duck on top and a dipping sauce. The wonton noodle soup was a favorite as well. The wontons were ever flavorful and skin was thin. My MIL nodded approvingly telling me that she can tell they use fresh noodles for the yellow noodle. Not previously dried! We tried their noodle salad with egg roll too. The egg rolls were also very good and freshly made. Everything was good! My kids loved the food too and the waitresses were friendly. They have people that speak Viet, Canto, Mandarin, some English. The interior seems to have been renovated prior to opening. It's clean. My MIL wants to go back before the grand opening discount stops. She's a fan! So am I! We can now both agree on something! Jk jk.

They are normally closed on Tuesdays but will be open on full moon/ new moon days

Man this place is over due for a review. Me and the fam loves this place when we want to eat vegetarian food. Super flavorful! We ordered bun rieu, bun bo hue, banh cuon, lemon grass chicken with rice, pan fried rice noodles and veggie squid with basil. Every dish was so yummy. Although I love their banh xeo, roasted pork and shredded pork rolls. But these were also so good! Will come back and try the other stuff on the menu next time. Also they are open on Tuesdays that fall on "ram" days which is full moon/new moon days.

Bun thit nuong with egg rolls

Very happy to see a vegetarian Vietnamese restaurant nearby so my mom and I decided to try it out. We ordered the bi thit nuong with egg rolls and the other one without the thit. Each portion was quite big so we felt it can be easily shared by two people unless you are super hungry. Each of these toppings were very delicious and made quite well. The nuoc mam sauce was also not too sweet which I prefer. My mom is really picky but she liked her order and so we will definitely come back! Well lit restaurant and parking gets busy on the weekends.

There is not a lot of vegan Vietnamese restaurants in the San Gabriel Valley area and I am so glad that KH Veggie Life just opened up. My family and I have eaten here three times since they opened a few weeks ago. Their prices are so affordable especially for vegan food. The dishes we ordered were really tasty: bun bo hue, banh cuon, bun rieu, vermicelli with egg rolls and grilled "pork", and banh hoi with bo la lot. You have to try their dipping sauces; they are so yummy! Food came out a little slowly but it is understandable since they just opened and my family was a big group of 15 people. This is a family-run restaurant and the ladies who run it are so friendly and hospitality. Come out and try this restaurant and help out a female-run business.

I came here for brunch after taking my son to the dentist, with all of my immediate family. KH Veggie recently opened up in Monterey Park, with a wide variety of various Vietnamese vegetarian dishes. Given the variety and how close it was, we had to give it a try. The restaurant staff were super nice and attentive. The restaurant itself was quite small, but clean. We had vegetarian pho, vegetarian chicken stir fry, and stir fried egg noodles. I loved the stir fried chicken which had a mild kick to it. The pho had various vegetarian "meats" such as spam, tofu, and "fish" cake. The stir fried noodles were awesome too. The restaurant served complimentary dessert with red bean at the end. The portions were quite generous, and we had copious left overs to take home. Overall, very solid vegetarian restaurant that I would come back to.

The veg fish was an all time favorite. When I do happen to go to a vegetarian restaurant, I would order it (if available). We all loved the sauce in the fish. Even if you don't like the fish, mixing the sauce with rice would be good. Corn soup was a nice start. The corns could be a bit better, but would order it again. The almond pastry was yummy. I enjoyed the tofu the best then the crispy chicken. The fish I think had five spice seasoning and seaweed (nori) to give it that fish flavor. Since we were eager to try the different types of food, we did a family style and that was the best decision. We also got eggplant, and the rice cake/egg. I thought the rice cake looked underwhelming, but our entire group had a consensus and voted that as the top fave of the night. Everything was super tasty and we left happy and full and with leftovers! Super excited to return and to recommend to others. I look forward to come back to try some of the other items such as the "beef" noodle soup or the bun rieu or pho! I also appreciate that some of the dishes came with rice included -we actually ended up with too much rice, but perfect for leftovers the next day. Upon checking out, there was delicious thing by the cash register that was green and resembled a bundt cake in slices. It was labled mochi pandan, and it was AMAZING. so spongy, so delicious and a little sweet. Perfect end of the night that my buddy got one to go right after. It was made fresh and you can tell by how soft it was. I appreciate that this restaurant has vegetarian versions of common vietnamese and chinese dishes. I would have preferred for it to have some kind of spice that lacked too. The drumsticks were the main item I visited for and they were good; however, they were on dowels vs. sugar cane... just a different vibe, not a deal breaker. Two issues with my visit here: 1. asked for a sweet chili sauce, but it has no chili in it, just a sugary sauce AND when I got my bill I was charged extra for the sauce but no mention of this when I ordered it. I have no issue paying for extra sauces 1. If the sauce is worth a hoot and 2. Awareness that I'm paying for it. Prices are a little high for the quality of food. The parking lot is a little undersized for the amount of businesses in the little strip mall area. One MAJOR complaint and issue 2. They claim the restroom is out of order (which I saw on previous reviewers posts, which was over 1 month ago)... idk how a business can operate without a restroom for customers. I get emergency situations, but how have they gone this long without a working restroom for customers? To make this situation even worse, it doesn't appear they have any neighboring businesses to partner with on this issue because if you need the restroom they tell you to go across the street to Trader Joe's. Next time I'm in the area, I'll just grab something from TJ's to eat and not worry about dining at My Vegan.

Thien Tam Vegetarian Restaurant proved me completely wrong. The standout dish for me was the vegetarian Bún Bò Huế, and honestly this is where they won me over. The broth was deeply flavorful, rich, and aromatic with that signature Huế spice and lemongrass heat. It had real depth and complexity, not a watered-down substitute version. The plant-based proteins had great texture and absorbed the flavors beautifully, to the point where I never felt like anything was missing. This wasn't "good vegetarian food." This was just excellent Vietnamese food, period. Everything tasted fresh, portions were generous, and the balance of spice, savory, and brightness was spot on. Even as someone who regularly eats traditional Bún Bò Huế, I was genuinely impressed by how satisfying and comforting this version was. Service was friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere made it an easy place to relax and enjoy the meal. If you're vegetarian, Thien Tam is a must-visit. If you're an omnivore who thinks vegetarian food won't hit the same, I assure you the food here will make you rethink that assumption.

My friend is vegan so was looking for some vegetarian/vegan-friendly restaurants and stumbled upon…read morethis one. I usually only order pho when I go to viet places so I wanted to expand my tastebuds and try other things. We came around 9:30 AM on Saturday morning and they open at 8 AM. Parking wasn't an issue as they have a decent-sized lot. We were greeted by friendly waiters and ordered the following items: 1. Bun Hue: 6/10 Standard noodles with veggie meats. Nothing too surprising but this was one of their more popular items according to Yelp. I appreciated the amount of veggies. 2. Banh Xeo: 7/10 This was really interesting! I didn't expect the dish to look like that but I enjoyed eating the rice noodle patties. They were delicious and the veggies were all charred well. The "gravy" was a bit weird but I used it as a sauce for the patties. 3. Pho Ap Chao: 7/10 Never had a vegan omelette before so this was a first! Lots of bean sprouts and daikon (?) radish inside. The exterior was crispy and tasted like curry? Very filling dish and they also provide lettuce/fish sauce that we eat it together with. Overall, it was a good place to try and I appreciated how they let us sit for almost 3 hours since there weren't any other customers until 11ish. Felt very healthy afterwards since it was all veggies and price wise, it's decent.

5 Stars - A Hidden Culinary Gem in Alhambra! I brought some…read moreold friends to Sage Bistro in Alhambra once again, and we were treated to another incredibly satisfying feast. I am genuinely thrilled to have such an upscale, quiet, and relaxing restaurant right here in my neighborhood. You can truly taste the chef's passion and dedication in every dish. Every time I bring friends here, they are absolutely amazed and delighted by the flavors. We ordered quite a few dishes today. The highlight was the Chilean Sea Bass. The chef served a massive, beautifully thick cut--which is actually the hardest to execute. If overcooked even slightly, Chilean Sea Bass becomes dry and tough. But the timing here was absolutely perfect. It had a gorgeous, golden-brown exterior, while the inside remained incredibly moist, tender, and delightfully springy. The seasoning was spot-on and never overpowering; it wasn't too salty, perfectly preserving the natural, fresh flavors of the sea. We also had the Chicken Bowtie Pasta. I typically avoid chicken dishes at restaurants because they often turn out dry and lack the rich aroma you get from beef or lamb. However, Sage's chef elevates chicken to another level. Rather than using the traditional Cantonese technique of quickly flash-frying in oil (which yields a smooth texture but sacrifices the natural meat aroma), the chef here expertly pan-sears the chicken over extremely high heat for a short time. This creates a deliciously crisp exterior that locks in all the juices and rich flavor. Tossed with perfectly cooked bowtie pasta and cheese, the result is so flavorful and well-balanced that we simply couldn't stop eating! Another great thing about Sage is their incredibly generous portion sizes--we left completely satisfied! We finished our meal with a great cup of coffee and the chef's handmade Tiramisu, drawing a perfect, sweet close to our evening. Highly recommend!
