Small little tiny shop that specializes in banh xeo and would say the best in the near area!!! Three main types of Vietnamese crepes: pork and shrimp, vegetarian and fish. All are superb. -Can order bean sprouts on the side that are slightly cooked. -Can call ahead to order. -Large size served in pizza boxes with a small sauce fish container and large bags of super fresh greens including lettuce, mint, etc -small parking lot
This was our first time here and wasn't quite sure what to expect since I don't often eat Vietnamese food besides pho. There's a parking lot located in the back and the restaurant is located right at the corner. You can tell that it's a traditional family owned restaurant when you see that it doesn't look that renovated and seems like their family (with kids) works behind the counter haha. It's very nostalgic but you know you're in good hands and the food must be goood. They don't have a lot on their menu tbh, so they really specialize in the banh xeo. I'm pretty unfamiliar with it so I thought it was like an omelette? I was wrong haha. We ordered rather quickly since the service here is quite efficient. We didn't wait too long for our order to arrive as well, so it was pretty quick. My bf is half Vietnamese so I was following his lead how to eat this. Break the banh xeo and wrap it and dip it. Overall it was pretty good! There's also surprisingly a lot of shrimp and bean sprouts. I would say I wish it had more of a filling, or more ingredients to add to make it more filling. It feels like the fried could balance out with the lettuce wraps but it still honestly tasted more 'fried'. It does give a nice crunch, but I feel like just eating this only, I feel like it does get a bit dull. Kinda wish we could order this and something else to share! Overall, my bf also said it's kinda pricey for what it is? Which I thought the same too. It's nice but not thaaaat nice to be $18.
Took a friend out to try this Vietnamese restaurant, particularly the "Banh xeo" or Vietnamese crepes. Ambiance - felt like a small family run operation with warm smiles and energy to provide good service. The crepes were delicious with a good amount of fresh herbs and veggies to accompany. The sauce, was something my friend kept raving about - how it rounds out the dish. We also split an order of the dry noodles and it was delicious as well! Definitely, ideal to go with friends and share in some delicious Vietnamese delicacies like the Bánh Xeo.
First time trying banh xeo and it was delicious! Very unassuming on the outside but don't let that deter you. They put a lot of bean sprouts inside which I personally don't mind but my husband was not a fan. The crepe was super crispy and worked really well with the fresh greens and fish sauce. I would definitely come back and they their other flavors.
Hidden Gem for Authentic Bánh Xèo! Don't let the humble exterior fool you -- this little hole-in-the-wall serves some of the best bánh xèo I've ever had. The place isn't fancy or newly renovated, but once the food hits the table, you'll understand why it's always busy. The crepes are crispy, flavorful, and packed with fresh herbs and fillings. Everything tasted homemade and authentic, like something you'd get in Vietnam. If you're looking for atmosphere, this isn't it -- but if you're here for real flavor, this spot is absolutely worth it. Very happy to see this place is still open. I used to come here often as a kid when I lived in San Gabriel. It's very easy to miss and a hole in the wall type of place. You may heard of banh xeo to go in a pizza box. This is the place. Super simple menu but super delicious. and it was also exciting to see that "Beautiful Boy" starring Steve Carell filmed one of their scenes here! The server was also very nice and honest. I asked if one is good enough to share and instead of trying to make an extra sale, he asked how hungry I was and suggested I order 1 for now and if anything, I can order another if I'm still hungry. Also a plus, they have beer :)
FOOD I thought the noodle dishes (especially the duck one) were delicious but the Banh Xeo is where they really shine. Everyone at my table agreed that we wish we filled up more on the Banh Xeo and less on everything else. If you've got a big party though, definitely try the noodles! SERVICE The lady who served us was so kind. My friend wanted a drink and couldn't decide. Our server made recommendations and even told my friend that she'll give him a refund if he didn't like her recommendations. She checked in on us throughout the meal and made sure our glasses were full and that we enjoyed our food. LOCATION There's a small parking lot in the back and street parking in the area. The restaurant itself isn't large and feels like a homey mom and pop shop. It looks like Steve Carell filmed something here a few years back and they have photos of him in the restaurant and with the owners plastered all over the walls, which I thought was really cute! It's definitely not the best for huge parties, but we saw several parties of 2-4 here and each table got great service.
Friday morning right after they open at 10am, there was already customer. Before leaving back to the bay , I had to get my banh xeo fix. Ordered: Banh xeo- à must!!! Very delicious esp their nuoc mam dipping sauce Mi kho- was good Will always come back here when in town... a must!
The famous banh xeo everyone talks about. I wanted to try after seeing this on SGV eats. It comes in a pizza box which I thought was very charming. The banh xeo is crispy, flavorful, and huge!! I do wish they gave more seafood, but the flavor is there. I also got their mung bean drink which is a chunkier versions of 7 leaves. It's so good! Can't wait to come back!
A quaint small restaurant with the BEST banh xeo - Vietnamese crepe, in SoCal. I ordered the traditional banh xeo which came with shrimp, pork, mushrooms, and onions. There's a generous portion of fresh veggies with sesame leaves, basil leaves, lettuce, mustard leaves, mint, etc. the produce is high quality and very fresh as if it was picked from the garden that day. So what makes this delicious? It's an eggs crepe with a higher egg to flour ratio. It's light and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It's a lighter, crispy omelet for context. Not pictured was the duck soup. The duck soup has a generous portion of shiitake mushrooms, bok choy and a lip smacking marinated duck leg. The BROTH WAS AMAZING, umami flavors of licorice or star anise with sweet duck flavor. To top it all off, the service was quick and friendly. Keep in mind this is a small business and it doesn't look like much. But as they say, the best places to eat are the hole in the walls at an unassuming location. A truly hidden gem. There's a small parking lot in the back or street parking is available. Bon appetit yelpers!
There are no shortage of GREAT Vietnamese food to Banh Xeo in SoCal. But believe me, you have not had GREAT Banh Xeo until you've tried Banh Xeo Quan!!! Absolutely the BEST Banh Xeo you will ever have.. it is perfectly crispy with a very slight chew, flavorful with perfectly balanced ingredients and flavors. Oh, and their house made fish sauce is also oh - so- good. Which they also sells for $15 per bottle. Excellent and a must try whenever you're in the area!!

Bún Xèo Quán in Rosemead is absolutely worth a visit if you're looking for authentic Vietnamese food. The food is amazing, fresh, and packed with flavor. Everything tasted homemade, and you can tell a lot of care goes into each dish. One thing to keep in mind is that the restaurant is cash only, so be sure to come prepared. They also don't stay open all day, so it's a good idea to check their hours before making the trip. The food more than makes up for those minor inconveniences. If you're looking for delicious, authentic Vietnamese cuisine in the area, Bún Xèo Quán is definitely a place to try. I'll definitely be back! read more
Stopped by at Banh Xeo Quan today for lunch with some friends. Don't let the looks fool you because the food is great. They only have 3 items on the menu and they do a good job at it. We ordered the banh xeo (Vietnamese crepe) and mi kho đậu hào tôm and thit (dry egg noodles with shrimp and pork). The banh xeo was big and can be split amongst 2 people. You can choose the original which comes with pork and shrimp. They have a fish version and a vegetarian version as well. Each banh xeo comes with a bag of veggies and fish sauce to dip for $18. The crepe was crispy and light with lots of bean sprouts, onions and mushroom in the filling. The meat had a nice bite to it and veggies were super fresh. The dry egg noodles were flavorful and the meat had nice flavor as well. The soup on the side came out piping hot and was a good addition. The crispy edges of the banh xeo and flavorful noodles were a hit with the toddler in our group. Parking is found in the back or on the streets. The storefront looks like they're not opened and is pretty low-key so just go in if you're there. They have a couple small tables in the front and a big table in the back for bigger groups. Service was friendly and food came out quick. Dry noodle was $16, noodle soup $17 and banh xeo was $18. There is a $1 charge if you use credit card. read more
Best banh xeo in the USA? Not quite but it is very well made indeed! I would say this hole in the wall place does a fine job with a simple menu and I must say they are extremely efficient. Premade veggie condiments packed in plastic and cooked to order menu works well and keeps wait time to a minimum. The building appears to be an old mexican restaurant they converted and the plus side is the dedicated parking in the back. Overall, I would definitely come back! Note the limited hours of operation before you head over! read more

This is The place to get authentic Vietnamese Banh Xeo with the extra crispy crepe. I love how everything's provided and arranged in a nice little to-go box. Delicious nuoc cham is provided with an abundance of veggies. Service is quick and the workers are extremely kind. Please notice there is a merchant fee added when paying with credit card. read more
A hole in the wall place in Rosemead you can't miss if you love Banh Xeo and some other rare viet dishes. Duck Noodle Soup, Banh Xeo , and Prawn with steam rice are my go-to. The prawn is hella juicy and the sauce is crack ! The owner is always friendly and food comes out quickly. Parking is in the back and plenty of street parking. Great hole in the wall place known for the bahn xeo. Located on the corner of a street in Rosemead, they never changed the etching on the door or windows, so it still says it's a donut shop. I love it. Super friendly staff that made us feel so welcomed. We go the bahn xeo of course. It was huge and came with a side of veggies in a bag. The sauce it came with is actually a little bit sweet. I got a Vietnamese coffee and that thing was creeaammy. Overall, a great experience and the food was delicious. read more

when a restaurant has their signature dish in their name and there's only 3 items on the menu, you know it HAS to be good. the banh xeo was so crispy and filled with ingredients (pro tip: if you order it without bean sprouts, it stays crispy and not soggy) when wrapped in the vegetables and rice paper, it's a perfect balance of light and not too heavy! we also tried the duck noodle soup and it was very warm and comforting on a rainy day and the duck was very tender. the restaurant itself is relatively small but feels very homey and comforting like a proper mom-and-pop shop. I definitely recommend this place to anyone who likes Vietnamese food and especially banh xeos! read more

Love coming here for a light delicious meal! The banh xeo is so light, crispy and perfect! I love that the veggies come pre-packaged and are always so fresh. The banh xeo comes with pork shrimp mushroom egg and bean sprouts. I just wish they were open for longer hours! read more
It's no joke. The crepes were ginormous. They were fresh & crispy, & they did not skimp on the fillings. Further, you get a lot of veggies, better than lettuce, to wrap your crepe in. I enjoyed the vegetarian one with a good amount of tofu, bean sprouts & mushroom. Hubby tried the shrimp & pork one . He commented that the shrimps were not de-shelled. Another tried Duck & Egg Noodles Soup. The duck meat was very tough, but it came with a decent amount of vegetables. The menu is limited with 5 options only, 2 of which were not available on our day of visit. The restaurant is housed in a very old building at a corner with minimal decor. Total mom & pop business. Service was surprisingly pleasant. There is a small parking lot in the back. I would return for the crepes. read more

This hole-in-the-wall is an incredible spot for Banh Xeo. I stopped by with my boyfriend for an early lunch, and all the seats quickly filled up as we were eating. We ordered a Banh Xeo to share and paid extra for rice paper to wrap the Banh Xeo. The Banh Xeo was everything I hoped it would be! Very crunchy/crispy exterior, and loaded with ingredients. We got the regular pork and shrimp Banh Xeo, but I saw they have a vegetarian option on the menu. A lot of take-out orders were for the vegetarian Banh Xeo, so it must be excellent. Overall, this spot serves up the epitome of Banh Xeo and I hope to be back the next time I'm in the area. read more
I usually go at least twice to a restaurant before writing a Yelp review, unless it's a very disappointing 1-star experience, or a super amazing 5-star surprise. After just one visit, Banh Xeo Quan deserves a Yelp review... 5 stars!!!!! I've been a fan of Vietnamese cuisine for at least the last decade, but I've never heard of Banh Xeo until I saw it on YouTube the last couple of months. Supposedly, residents of Orange County drive all the way to Rosemead just to get the Banh Xeo. After one visit, I can definitely see why! Banh Xeo is a Vietnamese crepe/pancake filled with shrimp, pork, and bean sprouts. Definitely doesn't sound too exciting, but the original Banh Xeo made my taste buds scream for joy. So unforgettably delicious and so crispy, and I will definitely be back for more. Definitely will have to try the fish version next time, according to other reviewers. Thanks to YouTube Vlogger Wah for highlighting Banh Xeo Quan as one of the best places to eat in the SGV. Will definitely try taking the Banh Xeo home next time. He loves the place because the Banh Xeo stays crispy even if taken home. Banh Xeo Quan is definitely not fancy, but sometimes the best food places are the hole in wall places. The staff at Banh Xeo Quan were totally welcoming and friendly on our first visit. Ambiance is not the best here but you know what's the best here??? Their Banh Xeo will be the best if not one of the best you've ever eaten. Super crispy and ginormous!!! And for those with dietary restrictions, they have options: pork and shrimp one, fish one and a vegan one too. Ordered for take-out, which they pack in a pizza box (1$8?) is genius!) and ate it with colleagues at work and it hits the spot every damn time! read more
Banh xeo is still just as good as I remember and super crispy! The workers are very sweet and quite proud of the fact that their restaurant was used in a film with Steve Carell. Their fish sauce dipping sauce is absolutely delicious and garlicky, and I still recommend getting the rice paper to wrap your banh xeo as an easier transport method into your mouth. I liked the regular banh xeo with pork and shrimp more than the fish one today because it was a bit more flavorful, but both are good and they give you the perfect amount of veggies/herbs to eat with the banh xeo. ***Do note that they will be closed June 3rd-July 7th for summer break, and they will reopen on July 8th!!! read more
This place is a hole on a wall establishment in the corner on Garvey Ave. It had a very old school vibe from the outside, and the inside was no difference. Once we walked in, there was an oder probably from old wood? It was definitely not a pleasant smell. Other than that, I would only recommend ordering the Banh Xeo and the drinks. The other food is not recommended. The star of the show, banh xeo, was delicious. It was crispy with plenty of veggies and herbs. The pandan mung bean drink was really good. Just enough of pandan and mung bean flavor also not too sweet. The Thai tea was more on the light side as compared with Thai ice from Thailand. Banh Xeo was delicious and would only go back for that and probably take it out. read more
