Came here for dinner on a Saturday night. There is parking on the street as well as an underground parking behind the restaurant. The restaurant is very nice, bright, and clean. The decors were cool. We signed in to the waiting list. Waited outside and before long, we were called in and got our table. The staffs were courteous and friendly. This is a Vietnamese restaurant that also serve Chinese Foods. They have two sets of menus. One for Vietnamese dishes and the other one for Chinese dishes. Both menus offer a variety of selections. They even have Set Dinner Menu that comes with pre-set items. Have to give that a try one day. We ended up ordering the Bún Bò Huế and the Vietnamese Braised Fish. The Braised Fish did not come with steam rice, so we had to order the steam rice. For the drinks, we had the Peach Oolong Iced Tea and the 3-Colored Dessert. The Bún Bò Huế was very good. The Braised Fish was a little salty but still tasted good. The Peach Oolong Iced Tea was refreshing. The 3-Colored Dessert was very yummy. I enjoyed the sweet taste of it. There are very few Vietnamese restaurants that I've come across growing up in the SGV that offer the fermented fish vermicelli soup (aka bun mam) but Golden Delight does! This soup is so pungent that the only time I get to savor it is at home and the stink doesn't leave your home for a few days. So, it is to my delight that they offer it here during the weekdays. It is a nicely stacked bowl that has everything but the kitchen sink in it - roast pork belly, catfish, squid, eggplant, and stuffed jalapeno with fried fish cake. Very filling and reasonably priced! The only reason I gave this place a 4 instead of 5 rating is because you can only order certain items from the menu when they open. This place is always busy. Came on a Saturday around 1:30 pm with a party of 3 and still had about a 15 minute wait. Service started a bit slow. It took a while to get water and place our order, and staff doesn't really check in much after that. The menu here is different from Golden Delight #2. This location has both a Vietnamese and separate Chinese menu. The Chinese side is more family-style, while the Vietnamese menu is noticeably smaller. They don't offer things like com tam or goi here, which was a bit disappointing. I wish they were more transparent on the viet menu and then just offer additional chinese food at this location if anything. The food is just as good and portions are just as big as the other location. The space is similar in size to #2, and not quite as clean or new, but still nicer than many other Vietnamese spots. It has that same gold-themed decor that gives it a slightly more upscale feel. Parking is convenient with street spots in front or a free 2-hour lot in the back, though it does fill up. Ordered dinner here for the family. First time at Golden Delight, offering a teo chow chinese menu and vietnamese menu. Vietnamese kitchen closed at 7. Ordered dinner for the family to go on the vietnamese menu. Got pho dac biet, pho ga and pho bo vien along with spring rolls (that has shrimp and pork). Total was just under $80 which not out of the norm these days. Waited about 20 minutes for the food. While waiting, there's not a whole lot of room to stand by unless you hang around the register area, but the staff was kind to offer me a seat at the booth that was vacant to wait. The staff was very nice and easy to talk to and checked in with you made you feel very comfortable. The restaurant has a lot of seating and based on the menu has a lot of food offering especially for a place that serves both Chinese and Vietnamese dishes. I had the pho bo vien and the soup base is on par, but the meatball was meh. It lacked flavor and was not complimenting the soup or noodles at all. This is the reason for the two star deduction. It was an alright dish and likely would not try it again. My mother in law had the pho dac biet and she told me she was not a fan of it and prefers other restaurants pho dac biet. My wife had pho ga and she reports its a decent dish as well. So all in all it received an "okay" rating. The packaging of the to go order was a bit on the fancy side which i think is a nice touch but does not make up for the food being "okay". Would i come back to this restaurant? Probably if i am in the area but will likely try their Chinese menu and see how that fairs to their Vietnamese menu. This is probably the only pho/Vietnamese shop that I know that also serve Chinese food, and Chinese lunch special. $5.50 Pennywort Juice with their regular sweetness was perfect!! Not overly sweet, not overly watery here too. $16.50 Golden Delight Pho is typical beef pho, tasty. No Stone Bowl vs stone is the same price. $12.50 L5. String Beans with Chicken. It comes with 1 bowl of rice and soup. This dish isn't large but looks like better quality. The soup is like msg fish flavor soup, still tasty. Funny, how we haven't had the chance to try their spring rolls yet or maybe I've just given up on it diento so many bad/nonfresh ones; next time! Note in past visit: Bun Bo Hue is pretty spicy. I was craving for the food at Golden Delight, and I was in the area yesterday. I ordered French-style beef over red rice ($16.50), Bún riêu ($15.50), and Hainanese Chicken Thigh Rice ($15.99) for to-go. We all liked their food. My favorite was their Bún riêu (Vietnamese Crab, Pork & Tomato Noodle Soup), it was very delicious, and the flavor was rich, and it had a tangy & savory flavor from the tomato and shrimp paste. The hot broth was nicely separated into another bowl, with the cooked riêu and tofu, and then we garnished it with their fresh herbs, bean sprouts, and a squeeze of lime before eating. The French-style beef over red rice was addictive, and it was very flavorful. The Hainan chicken rice was not bad, and I liked the oily rice more than the chicken. Second time here, I had everything the same as my last visit except for the House Special Prawn E-fu Noodles. This was recommended by our server, the prawns were large and the sauce of this dish was average (savory with a slight spiciness from the black pepper). However, I didn't really like the noodle, it was thick but not chewy (felt like you were just chewing on flour but with no distinctive texture). I don't recommend it. The service was great but staff started cleaning early before their closing time and trying to get the customer out the door (which I do understand but kind of kill the overall experience a bit). Been here twice now. The most recent time I came was cause a friend was craving their fermented fish soup. Sounds less appetizing than it really is. It didn't have as fermented of a smell as I thought it would like with stinky tofu. It was ok, kinda salty. I got the hot and sour shrimp soup. The standard is catfish but I prefer shrimp. The small size is great for sharing so even after drinking three bowls, there was still plenty to share and take home. They were not skimpy on the shrimp either. It is just a soup so if you're eating that on its own, like I did, I would recommend ordering a side of noodles or rice to go with it. I got noodles cause I prefer that combo. We also got the egg rolls appetizer to share cause our other friend was taking forever to get there. I was hesitant cause it's made with taro and I dislike taro, plus it's like a cheap filler some places use instead of putting more meat. It was made the way I like with the clear spring roll wrapper and then deep fried instead of the usually egg wash egg roll wrappers. It didn't end up tasting super taro like so I would actually get it again. I didn't get it this time but the stewed catfish is always good. I wish I could make it at home. I keep saying I'll be back to try the stone pot pho but I always end up getting something else. Maybe I'll bring my kids and get multiple things. Downsides are parking sucks so we always end up doing street parking which I dislike. The booth they stuck us in was right by the bathroom but the worst part was it was tight and lopsided. Visiting LA and was recommended this place! The inside was definitely a little fancier than other pho restaurants I've been too but still casual! They had a mix of viet and Chinese food. They were super organized and efficient with the wait! They were also pretty attentive since they had quite the wait outside but we didn't feel rushed at all. Now for the food, I got the Pho Dac Biet in the stone bowl and they do give you a pretty good portion of meat, but I felt that the bowl was a little small and crowded especially when I added the raw meat and noodles in (I didn't have room for my veggies) but overall it was good and clean! Their Vietnamese food is delicious and I would recommend trying it. Hot Stone Pho: Excellent dish, with the star being the rich and flavorful broth. Serving the pho broth in this hot stone bowl keeps it piping hot for much longer than a standard bowl. The portion size is quite generous, as the pho is served with a variety of meats: rare filet steak, brisket, tendons, beef balls, and tripe. Golden Delight Noodles (Hu Tieu): Comforting bowl of noodle soup. I believe you can choose between egg noodle or rice noodle, either one is great. It contains a lot of various meats, including shrimp, ground pork, chashu, squid, and fish balls. This is a good option if you want something lighter, as the broth tastes nice and light. Ground Shrimp & Minced Crab Meat in Tomato Soup (Bun Rieu): A hearty noodle soup with shrimp paste, crab cake, and pork blood. The tomato-crab broth tastes sweet and tangy. The rice vermicelli noodles are smooth and slippery, a wonderful complement to all the ingredients. Adding bean sprouts to this is a must. Egg Rolls (Cha Gio Chien): Best appetizer ever. The outside of each egg roll is super crispy, while the filling inside is savory. I suggest wrapping the egg rolls in the lettuce provided, which adds a nice refreshing taste. A side of fish sauce for dipping was served alongside the egg rolls, but completely optional to use. Grilled Pork Rolls (Thit Nuong Cuon): Not as yummy as the egg rolls, but still a decent appetizer. The booths are very small and tight that I had to squeeze in there. They're obviously made for slender people, or maybe it's their subtle way of telling me that I should lose weight by ordering less food? Hmmm!! Had I weighed 20 pounds heavier, I wouldn't have been able to fit in there. My favorite food here is undoubtedly the vermicellis with grilled pork and egg rolls. A big bowl of vermicellis topped with freshly grilled pork and two pieces of fried pork egg rolls. Beneath the vermicellis, you'll find fresh bean sprouts, cucumbers, and lettuce, and also pickled shredded carrots garnished on top. The pork is so tender and delicious! It tasted amazing with nước mắm. Their fish sauce is perfectly seasoned, mild, sweet, and garlicky without it being overly fishy. I asked for a second cup. Add a little bit of their house chili sauce to take it to the next level! The fried egg rolls are superb, possibly the best ones I've ever had. Second time coming back to Golden Delight & this time was just as good as the previous time, if not even better. Parking here is free but the underground lot is not very spacious and is often filled to the brim. If not the underground lot, I recommend street parking as it's also free in this area. We ordered 4 menu items and that didn't take long to come out as well, very fast service. 1. Imperial Rolls (Egg Rolls) - (6pcs) This is by far the most amazing egg rolls I've ever eaten. Super crispy, crunchy, and it's great that it comes with cucumbers, lettuce to wrap the egg rolls for a "healthier" taste. Super delicious and very well cooked. Fish sauce is also provided for some extra kick of flavor. In my books, this is a must try dish when coming to Golden Delight. 2. Hanoi Style Egg Noodle Soup I asked for thin cut styled noodles for this dish and when it came out, there's a lot of toppings, very soupy, and the noodles are very high quality. Not sure what disclosed the scent but the broth had that comfort, rich feeling. In my opinion, it's the perfect comfort food for any type of day. 3. Ground Shrimp & Minced Crab Meat in Tomato Soup (Bun Rieu) - My wife ordered this dish and it was also filled with toppings. Most notably, the pig blood curd which was a surprise in the dish. The tomato broth really brought out the hot pot style in the dish. Love the presentation for this dish, definitely on my try list the next time I visit. 4. Grilled Pork Rolls - (3pcs split into halves) - Similar to the egg rolls, this was also super delicious. Of course, a bit more dry than the egg rolls since there's no lettuce to wrap it, not needed of course. Filled with pork and a various style of ingredients, the pork rolls is very savory and chewy. Highly recommend as a substitute to the egg rolls if you prefer something that's more on the chewy and soft side. I don't know. This place felt like a solid 3 to me. We parked on the street on a Friday night around 7:15. There was no wait. I ordered the pho with double brisket and rare steak. The pho was okay. Not sure what happened but I find that the flavor and quality of the food has gone down drastically in the past year. In the past year, I remember that I've dined in at the restaurant or ordered delivery from Uber eats/Postmates at least 4-5 times. If you're trying it for the first time, the Golden Delight pho comes with all the fixings like brisket, tripe, tendon, beef ball, and more and is sure to impress. But if you're not in the mood for pho, the Vietnamese crab udon, braised pork belly, and bun rieu are all excellent choices and come generously with plenty of toppings. Surprisingly, the restaurant doesn't feature that many appetizers on its menu but makes up for it in quality, judging from the delicious egg rolls we tried. Pretty solid pho spot! On a Sunday around 11am we didnt wait too long and were seated quickly. Service is quick and attentive. We ordered the stone pot pho and a regular pho! We all agreed that it needed more noodles but we all appreciated the portion of meat. Instead of pho though I got the Bun Bo Hue and it was okay! I like that they give so much various meats but I found the broth to be a little too sweet for me, however it doesn't taste salty and it is more clean broth so I still enjoyed it! We also ordered a side of egg-rolls which we finished but we found them too peppery. The fish sauce also more on the sweeter side. read more

I've been here many times but this is my first time getting to go! I cannot say how much I appreciate their packaging and care in providing the highest quality pho to go I have ever had. First of all, I called in to order and they were really friendly and helpful. Asked my basic information like name, order, and told me how long it would take to prepare. I ordered 2 pho đặc biệt and 1 oxtail pho. Parking is a bit tight underground but if you go someone they can just drop you off real quick right off Garvey on the residential street. There was a line outside but pickup was fast convenient and easy. There's also umbrellas and chairs on the patio which was nice for the people waiting outside. When I got home, I opened the plastic bag and everything was so nicely packaged. Soup, sauce, vegetables, and dry ingredients were separated. I'm the dry ingredients, cooked meat, raw meat, and noodles were separated in their own bags. Noodles were also not cooked yet! Just boil some water and you get the freshest to go pho noodles. If you can make instant noodles, you can make this haha. Then just assemble based on your liking. There was SOOOOO much meat that we were able to split it into 5 portions from 3 lol. The meat and all the ingredients were really high quality too. They are also very generous with the herbs and vegetables. Vegetables were super fresh and strong. So fresh my mom decided to plant the mint and basil stems again to grow more! Taste was great, just as you would have it dine in. They really put a lot of care and thought into creating the same experience at home. The packaging is excellent with very small details such as the lid has a safety mechanism so everything doesn't spill. Their utensil packaging was super nice. I didn't know I ordered at a fine dining establishment. Hell, not even high class restaurants package your to go orders this well. Exceeded my expectations. Love the options here. They have a Vietnamese and Chinese menu. Hu Tieu is good here!! They are also the only place I've seen that has thit kho on their menu! Gets busy but can easily find parking in residential. read more

This has been my go to spot to take my parents when they are in the mood for Vietnamese food. Golden delight has two locations but this is the OG spot. Parking can be hard during busy time since its only street parking and a small parking lot right behind the restaurant. Golden Delight offers two type of menu, you can pick from Vietnamese or Chinese dishes. I tend to lend more to the Vietnamese menu. My mom loves the fermented fish vermicelli soup called bun mam. Its a smelly dish but its really good. its hard to find a restaurant who makes this. This dish is only offer on the weekday. All their soup dishes have been a plus for me. I enjoy their pho in the stone bowl which keeps my pho piping hot to my last spoonful. Service is good. Overall, a great place if you're craving for some soupy Vietnamese food. read more

Came here for a Yelp Elite event and liked it so much I came back! Hoped to arrive before the lunch rush and was able to grab the last table before they started queuing. Service was super friendly and very efficient; menu has plenty of options, but sadly I was a party of 1 and could only order 2 items. Started with the fried tofu, but it was a little light on taste for me. They were perfectly fried though; crispy, slightly chewy, and hot and soft inside. Also a huge portion. Was planning on trying the pho, but it was warm out and I still ended up with the everything vermicelli; this was the best option for letting me eat some egg rolls too. This was still delish!
