We went here to get some authentic Vietnamese food, com tam, aka broken rice. We also tried the dry noodle, which has such a delicious, clear broth on the side. The portion was huge! And they gave free croissants/bread for the table: We waited for about 30-40 minutes before getting seated. Parking is available in the same plaza.

Got the noodle soup with the tofuskin and shrimp paste. Server asked if i wanted it dry and i was dumb and said wet. Then bf said she meant soup. The hu tieu dry version was yuummy. I prefer that broth over the one i had, but im not sure if it was my egg noodle that made it different. The portions are huge and if you go before 12 there was a long line but it probably only took about 30 minutes still. The com tam comes to you in a tray. Ive seen people sharing it. They have a parking lot but if its packed you can park on the street.

Visited here for dinner on a Thursday evening. They were busy even on a weekday with a wait list. Thankfully the wait was only about 10-15 min before we got seated. Staff was very efficient and quick in serving us. It was packed inside! I ordered the #37 as usual which is the charbroiled chicken, shredded pork, steamed egg, bean curd skin, and broken rice. Portion is still quite big for the price at $14.99 but the chicken is noticeably smaller. I was still very full and had leftovers. The complimentary bread and soup are still a very nice touch.

Best com tam in the SGV area! I've only tried their com tam and none of their menu items even though there are a lot of options like pho, hu tieu, banh hoi, etc Every time I want to try something else, the com tam looks so good and almost everyone orders com tam at the restaurant. Pros: -food is plentiful and delicious -egg quiche is with a salted egg -take out orders come in a nice fabric blue bag -quick on take out orders -takes cc -on DoorDash but prices are higher Cons: -because it's so delicious, parking in the lot in front or back or street is packed! And a looong wait to dine in during rush hour

Came back again for dinner on a weekday and there was surprisingly still a wait but luckily not for too long. I ordered the same thing as last time but looks like the portion is smaller, less meat than before. The taste is still good but sad the portion shrunk for the similar price. Still a great broken rice spot though!

I remembered coming here with my mom when I was a kid and am kind of amazed that it has survived and thrived all these years later. Since this is still one of my mom's favorite casual restaurants (says a lot since she's a tough customer), I decided to make two consecutive visits on a Friday morning right when they open at 10 a.m. They already had a good amount of people dining in, and they turnover the tables quickly. I got their Bun Rieu (no pork blood & half vermicelli) and a single egg roll my first time back and it was the biggest bowl I've ever been served. It was delicious and they do not skimp on the protein. I love how they gave me a boatload of proper Vietnamese veggies/herbs and fermented shrimp paste alongside it. Most Vietnamese restaurants nowadays serve bastardized versions of a veggie/herb plate with their soup noodles to appease a devolved palette. Second time I was here, I got their dry combination egg & tapioca soy sauce noodles with the soup on the side and an order of a single egg roll. Man, do I miss this dish especially when it is served authentically. The bowl came with shrimps, thinly sliced pork, ground pork, a fried shrimp crisp, & quail eggs. But the flavor bomb comes from bits of fried shrimp, bacon fat, & shallots. Pro tip: balance the sweetness of the soy sauce noodles with the pickled jalapeños within their condiment array. The bowl of soup that this comes with is a whole other meal with a giant pork bone (how it is traditionally served) and a bunch of fish cake in it. This was my ratatouille moment when I transported back to my childhood. I can't wait to come back and work through their menu.

This is a favorite com tam restaurant of someone in our group. We went on Thursday evening and met up for an early dinner before this place got too busy for our group of 8. There is a small parking lot behind and in front of the restaurant but there are plenty of free street parking if all the spaces are taken. Orders were taken and we were given a small basket of little buttery croissants too enjoy while we waited for our food to arrive. Portions are large. They are known for their broken rice (com tam) so that was what I had ordered. It arrived on a platter! The pork chop was juicy and tender. Everything was good. None of the ingredients were dry or bland. I will have to come back to try the noodle soups next time. Those portions were huge and the soups were full of meats and greens. It was another hit with our group too.

My family has been coming here for what feels like two decades, and it's one of those places that just keeps doing its thing well. Over the years they've really stepped it up too from a nonfuzzy hole in the wall place back in its hay days. You can tell by how busy it is pretty much any time of day. I always go for the broken rice plates. The steamed egg cake still comes with that nice yolk in the middle, and everything is served on big plates and bowls that actually get filled. The portions are generous, and not just for show. The meats are flavorful, and the shredded pork has that slightly dry, fluffy texture that tastes housemade and really satisfying. Service is quick, which I appreciate in this crowded strip mall restaurant. They clearly keep things well prepped in the kitchen, so food and water cups come out fast even when it's packed. It's one of those reliable spots we keep going back to, and with the new bakery opening in the same plaza, it just gives us another reason to stop by.

This Vietnamese restaurant has consistently provided excellent food. One of the best things about dining here is the generous portion sizes, most of the dishes are large enough to share with family, making it a great value. The restaurant is always busy whenever we visit, but thanks to their efficient service, the wait is usually only about 10-15 minutes, even during peak hours. My only criticism is that the servers could be a bit more welcoming and attentive. While they are efficient in taking orders and serving the food, they don't typically check in to see if you need anything else or make much effort to engage with customers. If you're looking for warm, personalized service, you may not find it here. That said, the consistently delicious food, generous portions, and quick service keep us coming back. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone craving authentic Vietnamese cuisine.

Always happy when I get to eat here. I got introduced this place from my parents and I'm so happy they took me here. It's always hush when you come so expect a bit of a wait. It's not like Yelp waitlist either you need to write your name down and make sure you're waiting around to hear your name called. I'd say for smaller parties of 2-4 wait times can be about 25mins. Food great and pricing is pretty fair. Portions are also good here. I've trieda variety of their dishes and everything's good. Service is pretty good and efficient too. Highly recommend their broken rice dishes - the meat is super flavorful! Bun rieu is huge and pretty good too. My favorite though had to be their egg rolls where they use like vermicelli to fry it I think? It looks super blistered compared to normal egg rolls. I don't know which one it is on the menu since my mom orders in Vietnamese but I'd recommend to just show a photo to the server lol. Highly recommend this spot. Parking in front is bad so try behind the restaurant or street parking. Can still be difficult since it's residential in the back but a little bit of a walk won't hurt.

I tried their Com Tam (broken rice) dish to go which is their namesake and it did not disappoint. The portion was huge and everything was flavorful. The steamed egg was my favorite part, it was very tasty. Would definitely be back!

I know this place is known for their huge rice plates but do not sleep on their bun rieu! It's the only thing I get here bc there are not that many places that have this on their menu. The pigs blood isn't the best (Nha Trang in MP is sooo silky), but their flavors are on point. Service is pretty quick and efficient. Looks like they are remodeling the unit in the north corner so hopefully they are expanding!

    Kara L.

Small parking lot or street parking This place gets busy and can easily get packed I've tried different items from the menu and they did not disappoint. The broken rice dish, egg rolls, bun rieu, banh beo. They were my top favorites! Staff is also super nice and friendly

Hi. Does anyone know do they still have the cute tea pot/ cup? And, what does for? Vietnamese tea or just decorate for the restaurant? Thx 2025.Dec 15

Is this place still open? Google map shows it's temporary closed

They're on vacation until 11/1. Went there yesterday and saw the notice.

    This place still open?

    Yes.

    Is payment cash only?

No. You can pay with card, minimum order $30 for no fees. Otherwise, they apply a surcharge.

I came at 7:30pm on a Saturday, why was the restaurant closed?

Is this the same owner and place as the one on valley blvd?

Yes we’re the same owner as the location on Valley Blvd. near Walnut Grove, not the one by the Hawaii Supermarket.

The broth is perfectly seasoned and really ties the whole bowl together. I always ask to skip the blood cubes and opt for extra pig's feet instead, which they handle perfectly. That's right, 5 minutes. Although I did go around 9:50AM so there wasn't a line nor another party in the dining area. Food: I woke up craving Vietnamese and this place didn't disappoint. The Bon Rieu had the depth of flavor that I crave. Honestly, I judge most Vietnamese pho restaurants by their Bon Rieu because some places simply use seafood powder in their stock to fake it. What results is a very thinly flavored broth that has very little umami. Bon Rieu should have THE MOST umami of any soup dish because of its tomato and crab base. That's how you can tell if a place is cutting corners. The Nem Cuom is huge and the dipping sauce is generous. The House Special Tea is reminiscent of a passion fruit green tea from a boba place. Sweetened just enough to not be saccharine. Ambiance: Quite small. I believe one of their main issues may be parking during peak hours as it shares a tiny parking lot with many other businesses. HOWEVER, neighborhood parking is plentiful and just around the corner past the Sheridan Hotel and Starbucks. Round the corner and you'll find plenty of parking throughout the day.
