Came to Boston Lobster as my friends had set up a lunch here. Haven't been to a place like this in a while! We ordered quite a bit. Obviously, you can't come to a place that has lobster in the menu without ordering lobster, and we got the House Special Lobster (Large) with Garlic Noodle. Other items we ordered were the French Style Beef Cube, Braided Crab Meat & Fish Maw Soup, Beef Mongolian, Crispy Fried Sole Fish, BBQ Fried Rice, Clams with Spicy Sauce, Crispy Fried Squid with Salt and Pepper, and Clams with Black Bean Sauce. The portions are actually quite massive for each dish. All of it was very solid and tasty Chinese food. We were definitely very stuffed after this lunch was over! Service here is solid enough for a Chinese place. They were pretty quick with getting us extra plates to change out our dirty plates and more bowls as needed. And they were quick with the water. But yeah, you do have to flag them down to get their attention. They do have a parking lot here, and we got here early enough on a Sunday where parking wasn't an issue. However, I can see it being a problem on busier days. Boston Lobster is definitely worth a visit if you want solid Chinese food at a fair affordable price. Really good! read more

We dined here last night for the first time from a friend's recommendation. The house special crab and fried calamari were pretty yummy, but not very happy with how our food was handled... One of the dish we ordered was the house special sauce crab with market price of ~$26 per pound. We added the noodles for $10. Normal practice the server should come and advise on the size of our crab before making so we can choose how big the crab we want for our dish, because we're paying by pound for the dish anyway... but within 2 minutes of placing the order, a crab dish arrived... HA! Problem 1: The server originally tried to give the crab dish to the table next to us and the folks refused the dish... then the server turned around and placed the dish onto our table for us. CLEARLY they made a mistake and made the wrong dish for next table and decide to not waste food and gave it to us. We asked if that was really our dish and they said yes... what a lie! The kitchen took 2 mins to cook our dish? haha...dumb! Next table was there before us and their house special lobster noodles arrived 10-15 minutes later. First they made a mistake, then tried to lie to cover it up. No one is stupid here. We would have been ok if they were honest about it and ask if we would accept that dish with no complain here. Problem 2: The table next to us got their plates changed multiple times and NOT once did someone came to check on us about changing plates. Problem 3: Our bill came. They charged our crab as 2.5 pounds. What a joke! I'm a crab person. I know my crabs. That tiny crab is probably around 1.5 pounds - 2 pounds max. (Check out the picture to see the small crab shell and the tiny pieces of the crab legs and meat pieces on the edge of the plate). The $10 they charged for noodles was a huge portion, but that is not the same value as 1 pound of crab that they overcharged us for the dish. The house special crab was pretty tasty and we like the fried calamari. The veggie was decent and soup was pretty weak... our bill was $150 and I tipped $20 for the experience. I always come here for large family dinners and the food is always very delicious. Large portions, quality ingredients, and flavorful dishes. Some of my favorites are bo luc lac, lobster noodles, basil clams, and honey walnut shrimp. The interior is very large and spacious and can accommodate large parties. While we should have gone with the small sized lobster, I'm proud to say we went down with an honorable fight. Lmao!! The lobster was cooked to perfection- meat was sweet, succulent, and so darn tender. The garlic noodles soaked up all of the delicious lobster flavors and were not overcooked and mush. The bo luc lac was flavorful, juicy, and complimented the bed of lettuce, onions, & tomatoes so well. The snow pea leaves weren't tough and old- this truly was a simply yet magical dish. Service was on point and the staff continually came by to swap out our plates full of lobster shells. Above all, there was no wait with our initial arrival. Parking is easy given the fact that BL has a pretty big parking lot specifically for them. 5/5 stars!! We dropped over 3 bills here and it didn't even hurt. Lmao- this place is that damn good! Came with family for father's day meal after I tried it with coworkers and enjoyed it. We came around 6:30pm on a weekday for dinner and they were pretty busy and parking lot was quite full, but luckily we didn't have to wait for a table and still found parking. They have a lot of tables inside so it is great for small and large groups. The waiters were also fast even though they were busy. We ordered their Kung Pao Chicken, Fried Tofu, Beef Noodle, Shrimp w Walnut, and Vegetable w Garlic. We decided not to get lobster since it was pricey. They took our order pretty fast and gave tea to drink. The pot of white rice is extra $1 if you order though. And their menu book doesn't have prices for some reason. Only the to-go menu has prices. Food was served in a decent amount of time, around 15 minutes. And all dishes arrived close together so we didn't have to wait long. The kung pao chicken is so good! Not spicy at all and very nice and crispy with good seasoning. It tasted delicious with some rice. The beef noodles were also delicious! It had good wok taste and was very flavorful. The tofu and shrimp were also good. None of the dishes were too salty and all were seasoned well and in pretty big portions, though I don't remember the exact price since they took the receipt away when we paid. Yesterday(5/30/2026), I went to Boston Lobster for lunch with one of my best friends. Whenever we're in this area, we usually get a massage first and then come here for lunch. This time, we ordered the Shrimp with Cashew Nuts and the Beef with Chinese Broccoli. The Shrimp with Cashew Nuts was absolutely delicious, but unfortunately, the Beef with Chinese Broccoli was extremely salty. After just one bite, I honestly couldn't eat any more of it. I have always liked this restaurant and have been coming here frequently over the years. I've enjoyed their lobster several times with my family, and almost every dish I've tried here has been delicious. That's why I was especially disappointed with the Beef with Chinese Broccoli this time, as it was far too salty. Despite that, I still think this is a great place for lunch. Their lunch specials are reasonably priced, the service is always good, and the portions of rice are very generous. One thing I especially appreciate is the complimentary orange slices they serve to every customer after the meal. The oranges are always fresh and sweet, making a nice ending to lunch. One other thing I noticed during this visit was that the restroom now has a new premium hand soap. I don't remember seeing it before, and it was a nice little upgrade that added a touch of luxury hand soap to the overall experience. Overall, I still enjoy coming here and will definitely be back. Service was still pretty attentive even with the holiday crowd, which I appreciated because the restaurant was nonstop busy. Came to the Rosemead location to celebrate a family member's birthday on a Friday evening. We were able to call ahead earlier in the morning and ask if we could be on the wait list or reserve a table. They told us they could reserve a table for us at 6pm. We originally were hoping for 7 or 7:30, but based on how busy and popular this place is I can see why they said no. Come early and get seated right away and there's still ample parking in their parking lot. By the time we left at 7:30p, the lot was packed and people circling around hoping to snag a spot from folks leaving. The restaurant is pretty large and has about 3 rooms with different size tables and booths. No matter the size of your party, there's a table that will accommodate. The staff were very nice and attentive and FAST! We had our food out probably 15 min after we put in our order! Now...on to the food. We ordered one of the set menus for our party of 7 and it was spot on! As you can see in the pictures we had all the "classics". Our set meal could easily be enjoyed by at least 10 people. We had so many leftovers! The food was all well prepared and sufficiently seasoned. Portions of each dish was plentiful and everyone will be able to get enough to satisfy. My favorite items: lobster (duh!), kung pao chicken, pork chops, and shaking beef. The seafood soup is a great starter, and don't forget to add a little vinegar and pepper! Great restaurant in the SGV. This location is much bigger than their Rowland Heights restaurant, but the food is exactly the same. I went here yesterday for lunch. We ordered at 1:55 pm. The light fixtures are black with designs. The tablecloths are made of paper and have designs. Walls are white and have pictures of Chinese people in black and white. Each table has a lazy Susan. It's loud inside because of the plates and cutlery being moved around and constant chatter. Not every table is filled but most are. We got the first food, lobster, at 2:05. It came with noodles. It was seasoned well, I like how succulent the lobster was. Another dish we got was fish fillet with basil. It was soft and easy to chew, a bit peppery. We ordered yang chow fried rice and it was delicious. It had the right amount of ingredients. The deep fried squid with salt and pepper was pretty crunchy. It had enough salt and pepper. The pork chop with Peking sauce was great because it was sweet and tangy. Thanks to Rockstar Eater's recommendation, I headed over to Boston Lobster to try their lunch special. Their lunch special ends at 4:45pm, and offers various dishes that starts at $13.99. Both service & food was an 8/10. I ordered the Fried Pork Chop with Garlic Salt, Basil Fish Fillet, and Garlic Chicken. Out of the three dishes, my favorite was the Basil Fish Fillet. I feel like their cuisine is more Vietnamese style dishes than traditional Cantonese. They do offer a great wine selection (Opus One, Caymus, just to name a few) at very reasonable prices. They have a huge parking lot in the back. The restaurant is brightly lit which makes it feel welcoming. Definitely will be coming back soon to try their other items on their menu. read more

Boston lobster originally came from ex employees of Newport Seafood. They initially became a slightly less expensive alternative to Newport while offering almost exact copy of the menu items. The signature lobster is pretty much the same but just a couple dollars less each pound. They moved out of their old location on Valley Blvd (which is now the location of a phenomenal Hunan restaurant) because that location had worst parking lot. The new location is much much better with plenty of parking and a much more upscale decor. The lobster is obviously a must order as it has a unique Vietnamese Chinese flavor that I couldn't find anywhere else. In fact I used to drive down from SF just to have the lobster. I used to think there is a difference in taste between this and Newport but I can't tell anymore. However it is indeed a couple dollars cheaper each pound of lobster. The small is about 4 lbs and medium about 6. Large is obviously bigger but I recommend 2 medium or 2 small instead of large mostly due to taste. The after meal oranges are good as usual. The reason I didn't give 5 stars is that the fried food such as fried calamari is very underwhelming with over used oil and breading. Service is very good as they constantly come to change the plates. Come here if you are willing to pay money for good lobster. read more

Been looking for an authentic Chinese restaurant. Haven't been to one in a while. This place was recommended to us by a friend. Came at 530 pm on a tuesday, and there wasen't anyone here yet. Afterwards it filled up quickly!! The main thing I dont like about this place is they dont have the prices on what your ordering. Which I'll get too at the end. Like any other Chinese restaurant, their menu is super extensive. I love how they have a little bit of everything. And its very well organized too. We ordered the following: 1. Crab and fish maw soup- this soup was amazing. It was just the right temp. Got me sweating. Can easily feed 12 people. Great amount of maw. The consistency is just right. Tasted so good!! 2. Small lobster special- on a bed of noodles. It was about 5 lbs. Cooked well. Could do without. Basically flavors. And it was expensive!! About $30 a lb. So this one dish cost basically the same amount as all the other dishes. Which was just too much. If I knew it was that much I would definitely not have ordered it. 3. Walnut shrimp- not the best walnut shrimp I've had. But it was ok. 4. Garlic shrimp- this shrimp dish was ok. Too many bell peppers and onions. It was just ok. 5. Mongolian beef- flavors were not that great. Very tender though. Could've been better. 6. Sea trout- this was amazing!! I love the sauce. Fish was so soft and tender. The heat, the spice, the sweetness. Some of that sauce in white rice was just perfection. It was really really good. Best dish of what we ordered. 7. Kung pao chicken- this was a really good dish. Crispy bits of chicken. But so soft and tender inside. I love the sauce that it was in. It was by far one of the highlights of the meal. It was good food. Amazing lobster noodles! My family of 6 ordered the banquet course, which came with a good variety of dishes, including lobster noodles, sea cucumber, crab, filet mignon, Peking style pork chop, steamed fish and clams. They were kind enough to let us substitute the kung pao chicken with walnut shrimp. Besides the pork chop being a little too sweet for my personal taste, all the other dishes were great! After visiting a friend of my husband, we saw a restaurant called BOSTON LOBSTER , it's sounded good so I told my family to give the place a try before driving home to San Diego. The Menu was handed to us and I saw a lot of things on their Menu in a package deal, like a family style order. Our family celebrated my cousins birthday here and my uncle reserved king crab for the occasion. It requires days in advance to reserve and costs market price roughly $80/lb. Each crab is roughly 10-12lbs! It was served in two versions: steamed with garlic and fried. The fried one is the best... The king crab is fresh! They don't keep it in the tracks at the restaurant as it is shipped to them the day it is served. We got to see the live crab before it's cooked. We were seated at the private room, Max capacity of 30. The servers were very kind and accommodating and was dish came one by one. We also tried their salt and pepper pork chops (crispy and tender), honey walnut shrimp (sweet salty and crispy), steamed fish (fresh and tender), lobster noodles (savory spicy and fresh), and Kung Pao chicken (sweet spicy tender!). Getting together with friends on New Year's day to chow down on some lobster here is a fantastic experience. Since it's a holiday, they don't do reservations. But for our party of 9 people, it was less than half an hour wait at 5pm. We ordered the house special lobster with noodles and were told it was 4 lbs, but it seemed larger than that! It fed all of us nicely, although I do wish they provided more noodles. We also got the french style beef, deep fried sole fish, Chinese broccoli with oyster sauce, bamboo shoots with black mushroom, and westlake soup. Everything was delicious! Service was quick and friendly. Parking wasn't bad since we were there early, but even when we left at around 7pm, it was full but spots would open up if you waited a few minutes. Parking is limited, so carpooling is recommended. You can't park in the BHC spots, but you can park close to the back of the restaurant, or across the street at Sneider's Collision Repair. Corkage is a reasonable $15 per bottle. I really didn't want to leave a negative review, but I have to be honest. While eating the clams with bay leaves, I kept biting into a lot of sand. Then, the stir-fried beef ho fun also had sand in it -- my teeth got grated multiple times. The experience was terrible. The overall flavor was very average with nothing special. The restaurant environment looks dated and not particularly clean or tidy. The plating was also quite sloppy. What disappointed me the most was the hygiene issue -- sand in the dishes is a basic handling mistake. I hope the restaurant will pay serious attention to ingredient cleaning and kitchen hygiene. I strongly do not recommend this place. Very disappointing. read more

Visited for a celebration dinner, and wow - this place has a whole plethora of delicious dishes. The interior is minimally decorated and has plenty of seating. This place is great if you have a large party. All 10 people in my party were seated comfortably. The service was efficient, with new dishes being brought out in rapid succession. We ordered a set meal so we could have a variety of dishes to share, and every single one was phenomenal. The seafood dishes were particularly delicious. I was so impressed by the huge lobster, covered in seasoning and so savory. The accompanying garlic noodles were covered in the umami sauce from the lobster. Other impressive seafood dishes included the basil clams and a whole crab. On top of the incredible seafood, I appreciated the refreshing flavor of the stir fried vegetables. I left feeling extremely full and amazed by the variety of dishes I just had. I would definitely come back with another big party for more flavorful food! read more

We came here for a friends birthday and really enjoyed. Classic family style spot that lets you try a bunch of dishes. We did the B Set for about 12 people and had leftovers. The fish was the highlight as the flavor was just amazing but everything was good overall. Service was also great/quick. read more

Came here around 7pm right before Thanksgiving evening. Had a small wait but the food was definitely worth it. They charge per pound for the lobster so the small was 3-4lbs, and they said the medium was 5-6lbs. The market price quoted was $30 roughly as of Nov 2025 The other thing that grabbed my interest was the jalapeño strawberry lemonade. After the ice melts a bit, there's a small hint of spice but not too overwhelming! A fun little drink! The food was super delicious and everything came out quickly. read more

As my son and I were headed down Rosemead boulevard on our way to a restaurant. We had our windows roll down.And as we passed by the old Bahooka restaurant that now turned into Boston Lobster,this delicious smell of garlic and spices were in the air and we made a u turn and went back decided to try there and went inside. I did notice that the staff was Asian and every person in there was also Asian.And that's a good sign of some delicious food and authenticity. The gentleman handed us the menu.And as we were looking at the pictures, I decided on one dish and 1 noodle dish.Look at my pictures.They look as delicious as they tasted! The meat was tender and delicious....it was amazing and the flavor just woke up your taste buds , I was very impressed. The noodle dish that I ordered was seafood. Based with pieces of crab calamari shrimp\n And it also had squid and octopus I asked the waitress if it could be ordered with just shrimp and she said yes, you request it when you first order it and they can do that. I just felt bad eating the squid and the Octopus, if you ever watched,'My octopus, my teacher",(you'd understand why.) Then hot tea that was served to us in the tea pot that you serve yourself was delicious.I enjoyed it very much to the point where I asked waitress.What brand they use and we had a little bit of a language barrier , but brought out the bag to show me the type it was. We dran.\nK at least two pots full. And just to let you know, you can buy a small portion of rice for $1. If you don't want to buy a full plate of rice, it was just enough to eat with the portion of food that we were served.. Boston Lobster gets a 3/5 for me. The restaurant is a nice looking function with ample parking spaces and tables. We came here to celebrate a birthday dinner and ordered a variety of dishes to try. The noise levels were off the charts and ruined the ambiance of the space the day we went. There was a party in one half of the room and although there were large dividers to block off the view and noise, it was still extremely loud. I understand the noise levels due to a celebration but it was quite a disturbance. The food was alright in my opinion and overall not a personal favorite but other guests quite enjoyed it. The lobster was a little overcooked and I personally prefer a different taste but it wasn't bad. There was a little less meat on the lobster than we though but it could be the size choice. We had just enough food for 6 people to eat without leftovers. The service was quite good with changing our plates/bowls when they were full of bones or lobster shells. Same with refilling the tea and providing us with iced water. The noodles were alright, a little bland but tolerable. The squid seemed a little undercooked/unfavorable but nothing inedible. I quite liked the fried pork and tofu. The pork was well seasoned and fried well but was a little fatty. The tofu was hot inside and huge. They paired nicely with the seasoned soy sauce that came with it. The fried oysters were large but okay. It tasted better with the (chilli fish?) sauce but they were a little unflavorful alone. I also like the tea they provided. Overall, the restaurant was just okay and the restaurant was a little too loud for a celebration. We opted to go home to cut and eat the cake instead though it was nice of them to store it. read more

Boston Lobster Seafood is one of my dad's all-time favorite restaurants, and we will drive out of our way to eat here! We were on an LA trip and made the drive over to BLS around 12:15 on a Sunday. We probably 30-40 minutes for a table - came in at number 71 and we were 79. The parking lot is large but was already full by 12:15. Safe to say, it's best to get to the restaurant early on weekends. Between 3 people, we ordered the sauteed garlic pea tops and 4 lb lobster garlic noodles, which arrived quickly and gave us leftovers for another meal. It was my first time, and the lobster noodles were totally worth the wait! I can see why my dad drives out of his way for it. Service is quick and attentive. Important to arrive early and pick up a number at the front right away. 170$ before tip for 3 people including leftovers for lobster noodles, garlic pea tops, and rice. read more
