Glad a new and authentic pho shop opened up in South El Monte! Best part of that pricing is super affordable and the flavor is amazing!! Doesn't taste super salty or sweet like some other shops. I ordered a bowl of pho tai and banh mi xiu mai. Everything was seasoned well and and decent portion. The inside is super clean and well maintained. They have a big parking lot so easy to find parking. They also accept card! Looks like it's ran by a mom and pops store so definitely come support them!

What I order was pretty good. The only thing is that the broth wasn't too hot. I work roughly only 1 mile away. I need to dine in to compare.

I think this place is fairly new and very excited that a pretty good all around Vietnamese place opened up around my area. The place is really spacious. As soon as you walk in, you get that pho aroma and the Vietnamese music playing in the restaurant just brings back nostalgia from when I used to live in San Gabriel. The food is pretty authentic as they come for Vietnamese dishes. This time, I just got the bun rieu and a con tan bi cha son nuong to go but will definitely come back and check out the other items. Prices are fair and service is good. They check on quite often but not enough to annoy you so that's a plus for me. Definitely give this spot a try if you haven't.

Food- 5 Service- non-existent Ambience- untidy Since they are relatively new based on the three Yelp reviews, we'll give them a pass :). Upon arrival, there was no one to greet/seat us. LoL, one of their family/friends dining at a table next to the register had to scream for a young man to come out. This was the same at the end when we needed our bill. That said, food was very good. Recently I've been obsessed with dry noodles w/soup on the side. Of course I got it w/half egg noodles and half hutieu (chewy rice/tapioca noodles). Good flavor, al dente egg noodles...perfect, just how I like it. My only complaint is that their noodles were a bit thick. Sam Woo on Valley has the best thin egg noodles. But, this bowl was well seasoned and the toppings were on point. Pho was tasty but a bit cloudy. Spring rolls were typical. My recommendation is to get it TOGO until they hire more staff.

Great food at a hidden gem. Everything was fresh and tasted home made. Looks family owned so I'm assuming every recipe is passed down from generations ago. Loved the broth in my pho. Noodles had nice texture. Fried rolls were fresh too. Not over fried, but just right with good quality fillings. Ended up ordering a Thai tea as well and that was nicely thick and creamy without being too sweet. Makes me think of a milkshake that I can take little sips of. A must mention is how clean the whole space was from the dining room to the restroom. Surprisingly clean and well kept. Best of all is the value. For the 3 items and a drink, it came to $38 total w/ tax included. Everything was good quality and tasted amazing. Great service too! Dropped a $5 tip as I was extremely satisfied here.

Noodles were thin and cooked properly. The bone rib was a hard miss. It was very chewy and almost hard, as if it was old. Cooked a while ago and sitting for someone to order it. The rib itself is 4/10, if 5/10 meant acceptable. I ONLY recommend this spot if you're on your lunch break and gotta stay in the area for work. Otherwise, you should make the drive to eat better. I assume the good rating they have is due to lack of competition in the immediate area. They have a B rating as if 9/25/2024! 1.5 years and they still haven't made the effort to get right? I've eaten in many hole in the wall spots and have pretty normal standards for cleanliness as I understand how things get. But this place made me feel dirty. I'm a dude who can just stand and piss over any drain, but the restroom was disgusting. If my family was with me I would feel horrible allowing my wife or kids to have to use it. Washing your hands would make you feel dirtier, that's how bad it was. Bottom line. 6/10 If you must remain in this area, go for it. The pho is good enough. If you have options and time 4/10, steer clear from here until they put in the effort. If the bathroom didn't gross me out so much, I woulda took a photo.

Didn't think I'd find it here in the SGV vs in Orange County where I lived for 10+ yrs. Broth at Viet Huong is richer vs the clear broth favored at most places here. The brisket (thịt chín) has a little bit more fat to it which makes it less dry, cut with a meatier cut vs paper thin. The rare beef is minced a little. All the good things that remind me of the good old Saigonese pho flavors. The staff is very friendly. They all speak English really well which made me doubt the authenticity of the food (lol) but that worry was put to rest soon after my pho bowl came out. This will become my new favorite pho place.

We ordered the following : 1-5, 5 being the yummiest. *Hu tieu nam vang: 4.25! This dish was truly yummy. I haven't had this for a long time, and I truly enjoyed it. The broth was light and flavorful. It had the right amount of seafood and meat. The veggies refresh. It was not salty and you can actually taste the old school broth. The noodles have the right texture and chewy but not hard. *Com Bo Luc Lac: 3.75. The dish overall was pretty good. There could have been a little bit more meat since the chunks were pretty small. You can tell that it was not marinated because the flavor was really only in the sauce and the meat itself was bland. The cuts of meat are usually filet mignon, but you can tell that this was probably closer to xhuck steak. *Going Cuon and Nem cuon 4. These were good size and had a nice amount of meat and veggies. Was not overloaded with noodles. They provided the traditional sauce as well as the peanut sauce which were greatly flavored. I also ordered hot tea which they serve Jasmine tea. The flavor was just right and hot. It wasn't watered down or sitting for a while. It was perfectly brewed and went very well with the food. The service (3) is better than most Vietnamese restaurants. They took our order, and the orders came out right. They didn't check on you or come to see how the food was, but that is very common for authentic victims places. The broth was deeply flavorful with just the right amount of spice, and it came loaded with big, meaty pork feet and pork blood that made it feel extra hearty and authentic. Definitely one of those dishes that warms your soul. We also tried the banh beo.
