Glad a new and authentic pho shop opened up in South El Monte! Best part of that pricing is super affordable and the flavor is amazing!! Doesn't taste super salty or sweet like some other shops. I ordered a bowl of pho tai and banh mi xiu mai. Everything was seasoned well and and decent portion. The inside is super clean and well maintained. They have a big parking lot so easy to find parking. They also accept card! Looks like it's ran by a mom and pops store so definitely come support them!

I think this place is fairly new and very excited that a pretty good all around Vietnamese place opened up around my area. The place is really spacious. As soon as you walk in, you get that pho aroma and the Vietnamese music playing in the restaurant just brings back nostalgia from when I used to live in San Gabriel. The food is pretty authentic as they come for Vietnamese dishes. This time, I just got the bun rieu and a con tan bi cha son nuong to go but will definitely come back and check out the other items. Prices are fair and service is good. They check on quite often but not enough to annoy you so that's a plus for me. Definitely give this spot a try if you haven't.

What I order was pretty good. The only thing is that the broth wasn't too hot. I work roughly only 1 mile away. I need to dine in to compare.

Food- 5 Service- non-existent Ambience- untidy Since they are relatively new based on the three Yelp reviews, we'll give them a pass :). Upon arrival, there was no one to greet/seat us. LoL, one of their family/friends dining at a table next to the register had to scream for a young man to come out. This was the same at the end when we needed our bill. That said, food was very good. Recently I've been obsessed with dry noodles w/soup on the side. Of course I got it w/half egg noodles and half hutieu (chewy rice/tapioca noodles). Good flavor, al dente egg noodles...perfect, just how I like it. My only complaint is that their noodles were a bit thick. Sam Woo on Valley has the best thin egg noodles. But, this bowl was well seasoned and the toppings were on point. Pho was tasty but a bit cloudy. Spring rolls were typical. My recommendation is to get it TOGO until they hire more staff.

Great food at a hidden gem. Everything was fresh and tasted home made. Looks family owned so I'm assuming every recipe is passed down from generations ago. Loved the broth in my pho. Noodles had nice texture. Fried rolls were fresh too. Not over fried, but just right with good quality fillings. Ended up ordering a Thai tea as well and that was nicely thick and creamy without being too sweet. Makes me think of a milkshake that I can take little sips of. A must mention is how clean the whole space was from the dining room to the restroom. Surprisingly clean and well kept. Best of all is the value. For the 3 items and a drink, it came to $38 total w/ tax included. Everything was good quality and tasted amazing. Great service too! Dropped a $5 tip as I was extremely satisfied here.

So if you want to go into a sauna where they're too cheap to have you feel the ac on with a poor rendition of Korean food, this is the place for you. As soon as you get out of the car, the parking lot hits you with this wonderful aroma and you think to yourself "damn, I chose right." When you finally get your food and have been in there for a bit, you realize. You done f'd up. We were a group of 9. The service was horrible. They took their time getting our order; we had to repeatedly flag them down for refills on water and Banchan. What's worse is that we're in the heat of summer and it was hot in there. Our entire party was sweaty and my baby was overheating. I asked them if they had the ac on and they said they did. And I stared at them like "oh you kidding" and she just said she had her ac on. When I was about to leave I went to use the bathroom, you know what they had it set at? 80. Y'all 80 in the summer. This place is cheap and the service is horrible Top it off, the food was expensive and not good. The seafood pancake, I will say was pretty decent. However, we got the galbi jim combo and KBBQ combo. The galbijim was wrong. It tastes like what people who have never tasted Korean food thinks it tastes like (tangy and a bit sweet). It also looks like they cook it separately then they toss it into the dish. They forgot our steamed egg included in the combo. The Korean bbq that costs $50 is a couple of pieces. Overall, smells great but so somewhere else to spend hundreds of dollars. They'd rather be cheap than keep repeat customers.

Come for the food, but LOOK AT THIS PLACE…read more Okay, I have to start with the atmosphere because this place is absolutely STUNNING. The second you walk in, there is so much to look at. The woodwork, the hanging wooden plaques, the Japanese-inspired décor, the trees throughout the restaurant, the lighting, and especially the little honeycomb-style booths built into the walls. It almost feels like you've stepped into this little Japanese village rather than just another restaurant. Whoever designed this place understood the assignment. I went during the week, so thankfully it wasn't very crowded, and my friend and I were able to sit upstairs in one of the honeycomb booths. If one is available, DO IT. It made the whole experience that much more fun, and you get such a cool view of the restaurant from up there. Now, FOOD. I ordered the Pork Tonkatsu Omurice with curry sauce, which comes with chicken fried rice wrapped in that beautiful fluffy omelet, topped with pork tonkatsu and curry. When they bring it out, they actually ask if you'd like to record the presentation before they cut/open the egg--which, obviously, YES. It's one of those little touches that turns ordering food into an actual experience. And it was BOMB. The egg was fluffy, the pork tonkatsu had that crispy texture, and everything worked really well with the fried rice and curry. The curry itself isn't particularly spicy, so if you're someone who doesn't tolerate much heat, don't let the word curry scare you. It had plenty of flavor without being hot. Personally, I like my food SPICY spicy, so I added some extra spice to mine, but that's completely personal preference. I also ordered the Thai iced tea, and that was delicious--fresh, creamy, refreshing, and exactly what I wanted with the meal. Overall, I genuinely enjoyed the food, but I think the atmosphere is what pushed the experience over the top for me. The restaurant itself is just SO COOL. There are restaurants where you eat, leave, and that's it--and then there are places where you're looking around the entire time because you keep noticing another little detail. KYURAMEN was definitely the latter. Good food + Thai tea + an omurice presentation + sitting inside a freaking honeycomb booth overlooking this gorgeous restaurant? Yeah. I'm coming back. Tip: If you have the option to sit in one of the elevated honeycomb booths, absolutely take it. It makes the experience.

Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. When we asked for recommendations, he pointed us in the right direction. We ordered the Sapporo Miso Ramen (Mild), Tokyo Tonkotsu Shoyu Ramen, the Tonkatsu Omurice, and started with the Yakitori Platter. The ramen was excellent. The broth was rich and flavorful, and the noodles were cooked perfectly. The Yakitori Platter was a great choice because it let us sample a variety of grilled proteins, and even the grilled zucchini was incredibly delicious. The presentation of the Tonkatsu Omurice was impressive, and the curry sauce was well-balanced with just the right amount of spice to complement the crispy tonkatsu. Overall, we had a great dining experience with delicious food, excellent service, and a fun atmosphere. We'll definitely be back to try more items on the menu. Until next time, enjoy!

The place wasn't too busy but fairly full, we got a table right away by the manager and sat down, immediately a staff came and provided water and menus. It wasn't dark outside yet and so the restaurant was still bright, but once the sun settled down the restaurant got really dark and neon lights started to hit hard! It was like a night in the streets scene. Very cool but also hard to see food sometimes. We ordered a large boneless chicken (sweet chili and Korean spicy, mild), tteokbokki, bulgolgi and rice, and a side of fries. I would say that mild is really mild, definitely better for me because I cannot stand spicy but my table wanted spicy but I thought I can do mild and yes it was delicious and sweet chili was not spicy at all! Lorena spicy had a kick so I did try it but can't have much. We asked for gloves to help us eat them with our hands! The bulgolgi was the star, I think everyone liked it including my son who ate so much of it! Fries were crispy and soft, I thought they were great. My son didn't eat much of it but it's because he ate a lot of the bulgolgi. Tteokbokki was just as spicy, I had a taste and flavor was good but too spicy for me. Staff came to clean up as we finished eating and checked on us very often. Restrooms are individual and gendered, it does form a line sometimes. Overall, great staff, food, and overall vibe!

Since my husband and I were in the general area, we decided to get a late dinner on a Saturday night. We walked in around 8:45 pm and were acknowledged by an employee after waiting for maybe 5 minutes asking if we would like a table. But the strange thing was that I had told the the employee who acknowledged me that I wanted a table for 2, he didn't sit us. He looked like he was trying to clean the table but then just walked away... but luckily another employee saw us and asked how many for a table. But anyway, after looking over the menu, we ended up ordering: A11: Fish Siu Mai with Rice Roll, $13.99 prior to tax- I ordered this dish, which was plenty for one person (this dish is found under the appetizer section of the menu). I actually really love rice noodles and also fish siu mai so this was a great combination for me. And the peanut and soy sauce mixture poured all over reminds me of when I had freshly made rice noodle in Hong Kong many years ago. But my husband would prefer the rice noodle not to have any of the sauce (or on the side so he can maybe just dip it if he wanted to). I think this dish could use less of the peanut soy sauce mixture too but I still overall really liked this dish. D9: Grilled Pork Chop with Black Pepper Sauce, $16.99 prior to tax- This dish comes with your choice of either steamed white rice or noodle. My husband decided to have rice. He thought the pork chop was delicious and perfectly cooked. He also really liked the black pepper sauce that he picked to go with the pork chop (I know you can also pick a mushroom sauce but I don't recall if there was a 3rd sauce you can choose from or not). Portion wise, this is more than enough for one person since you are getting 2 pork chops. This is actually one of my mom's favorite dishes to order when she goes to any Hong Kong style cafes too. ----------------------------------- (Total= $34.23 after tax, prior to tip) Service was minimal. I spoke both Cantonese and English (well actually my husband spoke English and I spoke in Cantonese. I am just trying to make myself speak Cantonese more) so you shouldn't really have a problem ordering here. I really like the food and I am glad this place does open late. And it was pretty busy as time progressed while we were here. We also saw a few large groups come in and the staff moving quickly to put tables together to accommodate these big groups. Overall, we had a positive dining experience and would come back.
