New favorite find this week! Everything we ordered here was excellent. The Asian-Peruvian dish Lomo Saltado (A+) was top notch including the filet mignon pieces. It was tender and not chewy at all like other locations. The green sauce called Aji amarillo paste was perfection and complimented the dish perfectly. I also got the Hainan chicken (A) and the Pho Ga (A) which equally were flavorful and comforting to the soul. Service was prompt and staff was friendly and honest. I wanted to order something else but was advised against it due to portion size vs cost. I found that quite refreshing since people always want you to order everything on the menu. Some items are just better than others. Perhaps it was the owner so he could tell me that. The restaurant was well kept and clean. It is located outside the GW Supermarket with plenty of parking available out front. Would definitely come back here to try their other popular items. Updated review: They stopped charging people for to go containers. That was a great move. Since my last review, I've been here several more times and had pleasant experiences. I still stand by my first review in that pricing is a little higher, and I think that's why the place is always half empty. However, it is a convenient spot for us because of the variety in their menu. The most recent time I ordered a large order and one of the workers offered to help me carry it to my car. there's a plethora of pho restaurant in the SGV; we have our go to but this past weekend we decided to try a new Pho restaurant. I did a yelp search and read up on Pho Kadao. Sounded like a nice place to try Pho, especially Pho Ga as many reviewers have mentioned. It's in the GW Supermarket building on SG and Garvey. The place is bright and airy, the tables are not packed together. They have nice booths along the walls and windows, it's clean and pleasant place. The servers were attentive and very nice. I got the dry stir fry chicken rice noodle (pho kho) and wife got the chicken rice (Com Ga) with white meat. First they brought out chicken soup. That soup was the bomb. So much flavor. Yummy. We were trying to figure out, how can we make this soup at home. Man, if it was a cold SoCal day they soup would have hit the spot even more. Our dishes came out quickly after that. Pho Kho, don't think I'll get this again. To me it's basically soy sauce chicken (they noted stir fry) with noodles and you pour a sweet sauce over it. I feel like the chicken was already made and they did a quick heat up. The sauce was too sweet for me and could have used a bit more unami flavor. Honestly, I could have made this at home, the sauce I would have to experiment with. I did eat the whole bowl, was a decent portion but next time I would try the Pho Ga, which probably is with the soup. Com Ga, the Vietnamese Hainan Chicken. The rice was ok, it was as flavorful as other chicken rice we had. Definitely needs a bit more broth flavor. My wife kept saying she wished they had a few more sauces to dip chicken it. Free range chicken broth pho: Great hearty warm pho noodle dish to get if you're under the weather or if it's just plain cold day. They plate the free range chicken like Hainan chicken. It's a bit savory if you eat it by itself, but great to consume with the noodle dish. Chicken broth was light, warm, and hearty. You can taste that the broth is brewed organically. Extra toppings: The extra side of toppings like the bean sprouts looked like they had green edges at the stems. Completely normal and safe to seat, because the sprouts have been exposed to light for awhile. Service was great. Quick to order and pay. I am fairly new to the SGV food scene having moved here a few months ago, but I have found that Pho Kadao is a place of comfort and delicious food. I visited here twice with my partner before moving here and ever since then it's been our go to for a meal when we feel like eating out. The staff are very attentive and so sweet, I appreciate their way of making conversation during every visit. The wait for your food is quick, it's hot and fresh when it comes out of the kitchen. We had their chicken wings during our last visit, they were so crispy and juicy. You can't go wrong with the chicken pho, the big portion is BIG so we usually take the leftovers to go. The virmicelli bowl is a great portion and I would say a shareable size (the egg roll is so tasty and crisp, one of my favssss)! Def will have to come back soon! read more

Came here with a friend around 6:30 PM on a Monday evening. I hadn't previously tried chicken pho, but I was craving something on the lighter side! Apparently, this spot is a Vietnamese/Peruvian fusion, so you can also find dishes such as lomo saltado on the menu. My friend and I both ordered the chicken pho with glass noodles and white meat. Unfortunately, they were all sold out of dark meat, so if that's your favorite, I recommend going earlier in the day. The food took about 10-15 mins to come out and it was nice and hot. The broth has a nice, comforting aroma to it, as well as just the right amount of saltiness. The white meat ended up being a bit tough for my preference, so I'd definitely return at an earlier hour in the future. This review is based on my first and only experience so far. They have a nice variety on the menu with options like glass noodle soup, dry noodle pho, lomo saltado... I got the glass noodle soup, which I've never seen before. There was plenty of noodles and I enjoyed eating soup with this kind of noodle. The soup came piping hot which I liked. It also came with free range poached chicken that is served separately and you add as you go. The only con is that I asked for extra onion and the soup had like 4 tiny slivers of onion total and there was very little green onions either. The bean sprouts were also very wilted. Otherwise, a delicious bowl of chicken soup. I got the regular size and it more than filled me up. It came with 2 chicken breasts so I had some to take home. The service was friendly enough. Our absolute favorite dish is the lomo saltado. that green sauce it comes with ... omg drool. seriously so good. I always, always ask for extra because I can't have it without it at this point. It's been two years since I started eating here and they deserve the 5 stars. Anything from the broth to the chicken wings to the garlic noodle is excellent. I haven't had a bad dish here. The broth is light and lush, very tasty and balanced. Not too salty nor heavy, really great for a light lunch or a cozy dinner. The chicken portion is better now than two years ago I feel, there's a lot of white meat (half a breast). The dipping sauce is also great, I'd always ask for more. You can get extra broth for free too. If you like something savory, try the dry stir-fry chicken pho, it's like a fish sauce sweet chicken with vermicelli, better than expected. They give you options for different cuts of chicken like dark and white meat. Their pho was savory, lightly salted, and perfect for the cold weather when we went. I had a random craving for porridge so I went for it and did not regret the decision! They basically give you the same portion as their large bowl of pho. Not a fan of chicken but the pho ga was good. The noodle soup came with generous amount of flat noodle with clear chicken broth with some hint of aromatics. Also served were a plate of vegetable, typical when having pho, a plate of cut chicken meat, and a small bowl of ginger dipping sauce. The soup was flavorful and noodle was generous amount. Being that I am not a fan of chicken, the plate of cut of meat, approximately a greasy portion with skin, was dry and gamey in taste. However, dipping the chiken meat into the tasty ginger sauce made it much better to eat. The overall services was quick, with minimal contact as I did not speak Vietnamese and wait staff spoke fluent English. Despite language barrier, I received the correct food. The place was empty during lunch on Monday. However, it was a warm sunny day. I would assume this place would be packed on a day when it is cold and rainy. Here's to another great session of eats in my local pho Ga (chicken pho) spot. They recognize me as I'm either bringing my mom (to her favorite pho spot) or I'm grabbing a quick fast healthy solo bite. I love this place as I know it's consistent, flavor is great and the poached chicken pho is not over cooked but perfectly succulent, flavorful, and fresh. When your main protein focus is chicken you have to know that true chicken will be suuuuper feesh. I got the fried garlic wings to start and got a pho ga as well. Pho Kadao is always THE spot for my large, Vietnamese family gatherings. Not only are they super accomodating to big tables, but their food is more than enough to satisfy my picky aunties. I think Hainan chicken is such a simple dish, but I have found that few places nail it down. Their chicken is never overcooked, and seasoned so well. When I have some extra calories for the week, I reach for their Lomo Saltado fries which is my favorite dish here. The aji verde is so good, and I love how flavorful the fries are! This is my healthy food spot! Legit HEALTHY! I come here for Mien Ga (chicken glass noodle) It is amazing, taste good an healthy as well since the broth itself is chicken broth with boiled chicken. Especially their chickens are "walking chicken" which isnt raised in a factory but a farm. Recently dined here for lunch and the whole experience was pretty disappointing. Service: They were not busy at all and in fact, we were the only table dining in yet service was so slow. At times, it was hard to find staff because it seemed like they were hiding in the back. Food: We ordered the fried pork and shrimp egg rolls, a plain noodle in chicken broth, and a half chicken. The most disappointing was the noodle and chicken. The chicken was pretty rough and flavorless. The noodles were also very bland and something tasted off about it. Located in the GW market/plaza. Right by the entrance to the GW market. Usually plenty of parking unless during holiday time. It's got ample seating and good for big groups. Staff was friendly but sometimes I feel they are understaffed. English is spoken well enough. They do their best tho so I'm not complaining. They are known for their chicken pho! Pho Ga - so good. I've gotten it a few times. And if you don't like the chicken with the bones, you can ask for them to debone for you! I didn't realize that was an option until a friend told me. This was my second time at Pho Kadao with my fiancé and it was amazing again! We ordered the chicken pho with glass noodles, beef pho, and lomo saltado with chicken. The chicken pho was just as good as last time, and getting it with glass noodles made the dish feel lighter. The chicken was perfectly cooked and delicious as well. The lomo saltado was also very good but I would get it with beef on our next visit. The fries and flavors really make the lomo saltado worth it. The surprise of the meal was their beef pho. Last time we came we didn't order this as they specialize in chicken pho, but I'm so glad we ordered it this time. It was so rich and flavorful and didn't feel watered down at all. I've been here twice now. The restaurant is clean. You can bring a large family and they will accommodate. We came with a party of 9. They asked if we wanted our food served altogether or as it comes out. They said normally they'll wait but because we had children, they didn't want them to get too hungry. That was very kind. The item not pictured were garlic noodles with shrimp and a Pho Tai. The garlic noodles were a miss for me today. It was lacking in flavor. Something was missing. Overall all the food was fresh and delicious. If the garlic noodles were better it would have been 5 stars. The total with tip included came out to $162. Rating: 8.5/10 Hidden gem with affordable piping hot, savory dishes! Visited with bf on a Sunday around 5:30PM. I discovered this place on Yelp when looking for Lomo Saltado nearby, so I'd been eagerly waiting for a chance to try this place! Parking was plentiful since the restaurant shares a parking lot with a GW market and other stores in the plaza. Only two other tables were dining when we entered so we were seated immediately. Super clean inside and the Vietnamese music + ambiance reminded me of the older pho restaurants my family and I used to visit a lot when I was younger. We decided to order three dishes to share from their extensive menu: 1) Lomo Saltado with Filet Mignon + Chicken Broth Rice: 8.5/10. The best Lomo Saltado I've ever had was at Súp Noodle Bar, so I was really excited to try this dish! It smelled and tasted a lot more soy sauce-y than the ones I've had before (I want to say it tasted more Vietnamese?), but still delicious! Not too salty with the filet mignon having a strong black pepper and soy sauce taste, and the meat was perfectly cooked to medium doneness. Tender and juicy! The fries weren't soggy, and the dish paired amazingly with the green sauce they provided. Chicken broth rice is like the rice you get in Hainan Chicken Rice, so lightly chicken flavored. Next time I want to try the red rice (which the staff said has tomato sauce!). 2) Garlic Noodles with Filet Mignon: 8.7/10. My personal favorite of the three dishes! They weren't as creamy as other garlic noodles I've had before and I prefer a thicker chewier noodle, but this dish still packed a savory garlic flavor that paired so well with that black pepper filet mignon. 3) Fried Rice with Filet Mignon: 8/10 (super subjective!!!). I don't love green onions so I didn't love this dish, but still a really solid dish! This was BF's favorite dish, and he's a fried rice lover. The runny yolk paired with the rice, filet mignon, cucumber and tomatoes provided a refreshing and nostalgic taste. Not as memorable as the other two dishes but I think a solid choice for those who like fried rice! Overall, bf and I agreed that we will be back. Staff were kind and efficient. The SPECIALTY here is PHO GA (Chicken Pho) with a uniqueness of offering Vietnamese fusion dishes in addition;however, the star of the show is definitely the Chicken Pho (Chicken anything!). In honesty, the Pho GA here is incredible! From the broth to the organic free-range chicken and that garlic-chili dipping sauce! All excellent!! I never been wowed by Chicken Pho till now. I've been here a few times back when it was still called Pho Dakao. It is located in The Square plaza so there is plenty of parking around. It is never too busy so you won't have to wait to get seated. Pho Ga (4/5): I always get the pho ga with white meat when I come here. The broth is super clean and flavorful. The rice noodles are a little thicker than the usual pho noodles. They give the chicken on the side with a slightly tangy and spicy dipping sauce. You can order either a regular or large size. The portion size is pretty good for the regular. I come here whenever I want some chicken pho since it is close by. This latest time I went, we ordered some chicken wings and they never came.
