I've has the Nem Nuong Ninh Hoa (vermicelli rice with Vietnamese sausage) and the Banh Beo (individual rice noodles) and both were delicious, authentic, and just really hit the Viet food cravings. Service is so friendly, its casual dining, and always clean. I see a lot of folks get the BBH so that's on my list to try next here! read more

I love going here for some vietnamese comfort food that is not pho. We got the nem nuong tray with banh hoi. It also comes with the crunchy fried egg rolls that are so delicious and has a nice crunch. The nem nuong is perfectly seasoned and grilled nicely. I've had takeout and eaten in at this restaurant and I keep coming back. There's a small parking lot behind/next to the restaurant-lots of turnover in the lot so there will be parking. Food here is great! The most recent time I came here I got the nem nuong rolls and com tam. I personally think the nem nuong rolls here are better than the ones in brodard chateau. This restaurant is easier to get a table than the one in Temple City just due to the numbers of people going put to dinner on that mall. The Summer Rolls restaurants offer northern Vietnamese specialties like nem (fermented pork), banh xeo, and banh beo, alongside staples like vermicelli bowls, banh mi, and Vietnamese iced coffee, with vegetarian options. You can come here with your friends or come here to eat by yourself, as I have observed others coming here for a quick meal during a lunch break. The wait staff are nice, and the way you pay is to go to the cash register. If you want to have dessert, they do have a few bean/jelly/coconut milk desserts, plus there is also a Paris Baguette next door if you want a pastry, and an Old Ferry Donut shop a few doors away. There is parking at this outdoor mall and also around the corner, but parking can get packed during meal times. You can also go and get a nice milk tea at the Half and Half Good Old Time Restaurant (Taiwanese) at the same mall, plus there is also a Korean Bon Chon Restaurant, Bay Poke, a Japanese sando shop, Korean Yuk Dae Jang, the Hong Kong "Phoenix" Restaurant, so there are a lot of choices to rest for a party having a picky eater. I really like the Cuốn Nem Nướng với Cha Ram Tôm here!! Tried it once and had to come back. I recommend eating it relatively soon after getting it so that the Cha Ram Tom stays crispy. My friend ordered the Bun Bo Hue and said she liked it. She just wished that it was a little spicier (she has very low spice tolerance). I didn't try it so I can't speak to it. I was looking out for new and unique foods to try in SGV, and I saw that this particular Vietnamese restaurant had a special banh mi that used ciabatta bread instead of a baguette. The bread is a very large size and there were multiple slices of steak and two eggs. I shared it with my wife. I loved the combination of runny egg, the banh mi vegetables, mayo, and beef. Everything came really well together. The sandwich itself was quite large so I ended up using a knife and fork. But overall it was amazing. I would come back to this place just to eat their banh mi. The woman server was polite, but the younger male server was dismissive and noticeably rude. First time trying summer rolls, it's next to an In-N-Out so parking might seem packed but they have their own parking lot somewhat separated from in n out. Upon entering the staff immediately seated us, the place is very clean and the mirror walls is very nostalgic. The server is friendly and very fast giving us the menu and drink order. We ordered Vietnamese coffee, Nem Nuong Cuon Voi Cha Ram Tom, Dac Biet Banh Beo Chan, and Banh Xeo. We also ordered dessert for later (Che Ba Mau). They also gave us a plate of veggies to accompany our food. The spring rolls were delicious, filled with plenty of vegetables and a shrimp egg roll to accompany the pork. I've never had Dac Biet Banh Beo Chan before, there's 12 bowls and they come out hot and steamy. Very delicious with fish sauce. This place has been around for long time . This is the best place to get nem Nuong cuon . The rolls came with the special thick dipping sauce and the steamed rice came with the fish sauce. As you can see here, the Nem Nuong platter is not just Nem Nuong, it also has Cha Ram Tom, Cha Gio Tom; Nem Chua Nuong, a small fermented pork sausage seen on top; more pork wrapped in banana leaves. I really like their nem bò , they have a strong aroma of lemongrass. While it is perfectly fine to eat on its own, the magic of this dish is served with a plate of rice paper prepared to be dipped in water and wrapped around the meats and greens you choose from the mountain of herbs and lettuce that comes with it. It tastes amazing. While the decor here may not be as modern as their newer location in Temple City but i came here for long time I still like this place . The service was quick , efficient. Oh how I would be a regular here if I lived in LA.. Viet food in Houston is good but doesn't hold a candle to Summer Rolls rice plates. I ordered #15, the charbroiled lemongrass beef with bean curd wrapped shrimp cake and shredded pork skin and for roughly $16, it was a Texas sized serving that lasted me two meals. The beef was deliciously charred, the rice was soft and fluffy, and the shrimp cake was bouncy and savory. I wrapped the beef with some cucumber and pickled carrot in the lettuce and dipped it in the fish sauce and it was a home run. I wasn't the biggest fan of the pork skin because of the grainy texture, but there was so much other food on the plate to enjoy. The service was very nice and Ivy made our visit so pleasant and memorable. Definitely give this place a try if for some reason you haven't yet!
