Bun mam

Went for the bun mam and seriously the best bun mam ive had! Will def go back to try more dishes!

Spring rolls. Super freshly made.

Mom wanted to eat and I had a lot of things to do at home so needed to go somewhere close. Found this nice Vietnamese restaurant in the middle of nowhere but don't miss it because it's pretty good. I'm pretty sure this place opened ed up not too long ago. Number of staff is really small but very friendly. It was also pretty cool they had football on. and it was not loud at all so I could listen to the game. Was pretty busy at home so was awesome I could eat and watch some football on this downtime. I got 3 dishes and all 3 were delicious and fresh. Check out photos to see what we got! Bonus: promotion till November 27th 10%off Black Friday (11/29) and Cyber Monday (12/02)- 20%off

Dipping Sauce for the Fried Tofu

We ordered Fried Tofu, Pho Tai, Pho Chin, and Pho Ga. We had very good service. Our server was low-key and friendly. When we got there we were the only customers. The tables, utensils and condiments were very presentable. Our food came quickly and hot, well prepared and very delicious

Grilled shrimp spring rolls

Under new ownership and even better! Great service and even better quality food. My mom was new to this restaurant and she loved it and said she was going to come back with my dad. We ordered the grilled shrimp spring rolls, a beef noodle soup and the chicken chow fun noodles. Everything was great. Don't let the location fool you.

Pho Dac Biet and Pho Ap Chao

The pho was great. Soup was perfect and the portion size was huge. I will definitely be coming back again.

I'm shocked this place has such a good yelp rating…read more Pho was good, 7.5/10. Meats were soft and cooked right. Broth is on the lighter side but still good. Noodles were thin and cooked properly. The bone rib was a hard miss. It was very chewy and almost hard, as if it was old. Cooked a while ago and sitting for someone to order it. The rib itself is 4/10, if 5/10 meant acceptable. I ONLY recommend this spot if you're on your lunch break and gotta stay in the area for work. Otherwise, you should make the drive to eat better. I assume the good rating they have is due to lack of competition in the immediate area. They have a B rating as if 9/25/2024! 1.5 years and they still haven't made the effort to get right? I've eaten in many hole in the wall spots and have pretty normal standards for cleanliness as I understand how things get. But this place made me feel dirty. I'm a dude who can just stand and piss over any drain, but the restroom was disgusting. If my family was with me I would feel horrible allowing my wife or kids to have to use it. Washing your hands would make you feel dirtier, that's how bad it was. Bottom line. 6/10 If you must remain in this area, go for it. The pho is good enough. If you have options and time 4/10, steer clear from here until they put in the effort. If the bathroom didn't gross me out so much, I woulda took a photo.

The decors were cool. We signed in to the waiting list. Waited outside and before long, we were called in and got our table. The staffs were courteous and friendly. This is a Vietnamese restaurant that also serve Chinese Foods. They have two sets of menus. One for Vietnamese dishes and the other one for Chinese dishes. Both menus offer a variety of selections. They even have Set Dinner Menu that comes with pre-set items. Have to give that a try one day. We ended up ordering the Bún Bò Huế and the Vietnamese Braised Fish. The Braised Fish did not come with steam rice, so we had to order the steam rice. For the drinks, we had the Peach Oolong Iced Tea and the 3-Colored Dessert. The Bún Bò Huế was very good. The Braised Fish was a little salty but still tasted good. The Peach Oolong Iced Tea was refreshing. The 3-Colored Dessert was very yummy. I enjoyed the sweet taste of it. They gave us orange slices for dessert on the house. The orange slices were so sweet and delicious. Will be back to try their other dishes I saw on their menus.

Haven't been here in a while and seems like quality has gone down. Started with the fried shrimp with salted egg. Shrimp wasn't crispy and the Salty egg flavor wasn't the best. Wasn't crispy and seemed like it didn't get to rest properly with the oil still on. Braised pork belly with egg tasted just like something you can make at home but still tasty. Came with 3 eggs and thick cuts of pork belly. Could be more tender as some pieces were tough. The pho was ok. Broth more on salty side. Hot stone kept it hot but the beef ribs were not tender. The hot and sour soup was decent. Not too sour and good amount of catfish inside. The ice mojito mocktail was refreshing. Felt more upscale before eating in here.

I grew up eating pho in Saigon and IYKYK, the pho in North America vs in Saigon are distinct. One isn't inherently better than the other, it's just a matter of taste. But, I was very pleasantly surprised that the pho here comes very close to pho in Saigon, a taste I've often craved (and this is also how I cook pho at home), but haven't been able to come across in North America. Didn't think I'd find it here in the SGV vs in Orange County where I lived for 10+ yrs. Broth at Viet Huong is richer vs the clear broth favored at most places here. The brisket (thịt chín) has a little bit more fat to it which makes it less dry, cut with a meatier cut vs paper thin. The rare beef is minced a little. All the good things that remind me of the good old Saigonese pho flavors. The staff is very friendly. They all speak English really well which made me doubt the authenticity of the food (lol) but that worry was put to rest soon after my pho bowl came out. This will become my new favorite pho place.

The iced coffee ($4.95) was alright.

The nem nuong rolls were so good -- each roll had a generous piece of nem nuong with that perfect smoky-sweet flavor. You can tell they don't skimp on the good stuff here. Every bite had a great balance of herbs, noodles, and that delicious grilled pork. The bun bo hue was a huge bowl of comfort. The broth was deeply flavorful with just the right amount of spice, and it came loaded with big, meaty pork feet and pork blood that made it feel extra hearty and authentic. Definitely one of those dishes that warms your soul. We also tried the banh beo. The flour mixture was a little on the thicker side, but it was still really tasty--especially with those crispy little pieces of pork fat on top that add such a great savory crunch. On top of the food, the service was friendly and attentive, which always makes the experience even better. All in all, a great meal and I can't wait to come back and start working my way through the rest of the menu.

A helpful tip for anyone planning a visit is to order the catfish in advance when you make your reservation, as it is a popular item that takes some time to prepare. The dining style is interactive and fun since you wrap your own rolls using the catfish and various meats accompanied by fresh vegetables and vermicelli. That's right, 5 minutes. Although I did go around 9:50AM so there wasn't a line nor another party in the dining area. Food: I woke up craving Vietnamese and this place didn't disappoint. The Bon Rieu had the depth of flavor that I crave. Honestly, I judge most Vietnamese pho restaurants by their Bon Rieu because some places simply use seafood powder in their stock to fake it. What results is a very thinly flavored broth that has very little umami. Bon Rieu should have THE MOST umami of any soup dish because of its tomato and crab base. That's how you can tell if a place is cutting corners. The Nem Cuom is huge and the dipping sauce is generous. The House Special Tea is reminiscent of a passion fruit green tea from a boba place. Sweetened just enough to not be saccharine. Ambiance: Quite small. I believe one of their main issues may be parking during peak hours as it shares a tiny parking lot with many other businesses. HOWEVER, neighborhood parking is plentiful and just around the corner past the Sheridan Hotel and Starbucks. Round the corner and you'll find plenty of parking throughout the day.
