This place is never opened based on their hours. Twice I've been here hours before closing and place is locked up.

This venue is a disaster. Bathrooms were filthy and unstocked, furniture was dirty and mismatched, and the drinks had BUGS in them. The "owner" hovered at my event like an uninvited guest, cut our time short, and ignored every concern. Even worse -- after I told him not to, he still used MY decorations, setup, and music to promote his venue as if it was his work. That's dishonest, disrespectful, and predatory. Dirty, unsafe, and run by a scammer with zero professionalism. Avoid this place at all costs. read more

I had an event booked with Mariscos La Palma in El Monte for Saturday, January 31, 2026. I personally booked with Danny and paid him a deposit directly on October 20, 2025. Two weeks before my event, I texted Danny to confirm that everything was good and to go over final details. He completely ghosted me--day after day--until Sunday the week before my event. That's when he finally responded and told me he had double-booked my date. He then tried to blame a "booking agent," even though I booked with him directly and paid him directly. To make it worse, he tried to send me to a different location 20 minutes away. After being ignored for weeks and having to chase him down myself, I had zero confidence trusting him again. The worst part? He still has not returned my deposit. Despite canceling on me, he has refused to give my money back, leaving me with no choice but to pursue legal action just to recover what I'm owed. This was extremely unprofessional, stressful, and costly. If you're planning an event, be very careful. Based on my experience, this business cannot be trusted to honor bookings or communicate responsibly. read more

Server took our order then we waited normal serving time to ask again our order... Drinks are good. We ordered tacos governador but they were alright. Chips and salsa were good. We were the only people there and still the service wasn't great. We had to ask for water and forks. Almost seemed like they were hoping no customers showed up. We only came here to try something new but not worth it, the menu choices are also minimal. Spend your money somewhere else. This place definitely not worth it. read more

This review is very specific regarding their hosting experience. We host a Real Estate networking meet up at the end of every month. Their staff has been great. They attend our group as if we are VIP and go out of their way to make sure our event goes smooth. Due to the hours we are there, our dining selection is limited, but we totally get it. Hidden gem in El Monte off Main Street. Park across the street. The menu mainly features seafood, but they also have enchiladas that you can order and chile verde. They're super flexible so I was able to get shrimp and made enchiladas rather than chicken. I plan to come back and try their shrimp tacos next and their ceviche. read more

Can we get an update on hours and days open? We came on a Friday night, 7PM and the sign says OPEN in bright green letters but doors are locked with employees staring at us as we try to open the door. We've enjoyed the food here but it always seems sus because you never know what you're going to get. I also called ahead of time! Waste of time and no consistency. read more

Honestly has high expectations and was very disappointed. Came on a Friday afternoon, just 1 family in restaurant, sat myself down.. after no one came to greet us. Finally a waitress came by rushing to take our order. We asked for water, a botany and tacos to start, but tacos gobernador had nothing special at taste.. in need of some salsa to compliment. We had a botana de mariscos, also not great, seafood did not taste fresh. Honestly our of everything I ate only the salsa given with chips at first was the only decent thing I tasted. We got regular water in very small cups and were charged for basic tap water.. had I know the charged would of asked for bottle. I also ordered a paloma that basically tasted of nothing but squirt.. couldn't even taste alcohol. Service was rushed and bad even though it was empty.. only checked on us once. Waitress seemed upset when asked for water refill. Another family showed up when we were only couple left in restaurant and they told them it would be a 40 min wait... ridiculous it being empty. Apparently thye had an event at back of restaurant which is why they seemed to busy to have staff in restaurant.. but if you can't handle both, then why have the restaurant open. Will never come back, nothing was great. Surprisingly they are still open.. go anywhere else, believe me you'd be better off. read more

I really wanted to like this place. From the pics looks like a place that I would enjoy but unfortunately the drinks were not it. I asked for a Paloma and I basically got a squirt with tajin rim. My friend asked for a mineral water michelada, mind you we've had delicious micheladas with mineral water but this time it did not make the cut. I never give bad reviews but I have to for this place. I went for oysters and they didn't have any. So i ordered the blue fin tuna sashimi and they didn't have that either. The food was terrific. Although I personally don't like spicy food, it was also spicy and very flavorful. I ordered the chicken mole enchiladas, and my wife ordered the Rojo enchiladas, which were fantastic. I have been to a lot of Marisco places, and this one hits the spot with its Micheladas. My wife and I came here on a Saturday night and there were maybe about 3 other tables occupied. There was live music which was great. We didn't see anyone working so we sat ourselves in a booth and patiently waited for someone to take our order. Ended up ordering the botana la palma and ceviche de pescado. About 5-10 minutes later we were informed there were no more fish for the ceviche, so we decided to go with shrimp instead. The service was a bit slow or non existent. Maybe because the restaurant was hosting a paint&sip on the other side and required the waitress' attention. Nonetheless the food was amazing! Seafood tasted fresh and full of flavor. Where it went a bit wrong was when we got our bill. I typically just double the tax for a 20% tip, but didn't realize until afterwards that 1. The tax was off and 2. We got the wrong bill. The botana la palma was $25 and ceviche i believe was around $19, but was charged $25 for sashimi de atun azul. The tax was only $2.49 so our tip was unfortunately lower than intended (sorry, I was tipsy). My fault for not checking, but I was in a rush. Don't trust their posted hours! Came here today (Sunday) and realized they weren't open. It was 11:30 with opening hour at 11am. A staff member was sitting on the outdoor patio waiting herself, and mentioned "they were opening at 12:00 today." Fine, so we killed 30 minutes and came back at 12:15. Still closed, and the employee too had left as we saw her walking over to her car and drive off. Super unprofessional. I run my own business and can't imagine just opening whenever I feel like it... Easy parking at Valley Mall and we were seated right away. Great food and good service. We ate the aguachile negro, ceviche de pescado, and enchiladas de mole. Aguachile negro was my personal favorite, great depth and smoky chili flavor without losing any of the brightness you would expect from an aguachile. Mole was very complex without being overly rich and totally hit the spot for my boo who was craving mole. Ceviche de pescado was also quite good but was just outclassed by the two other powerhouses on the table. Drank a michelada and a paloma. Very generous pour on the paloma. Probably my one complaint from the meal is 13 bucks is pretty pricy for a michelada but it was a good one at the very least. All in all definitely worth checking out! I've eaten a lot of mariscos in El Monte and this is for sure one of the better ones. Throw em some business cuz I want em to stick around for the long haul. read more

This restaurant is amazing! My friend and I tried their Lunch Buffet on different days and they switched up the entree and soup selections each time and it all tasted delicious. The flavors are excellent. On one occasion the buffet wasn't available so we ordered from the menu. I had their Chilaquiles with eggs, and my friend had chicken molé enchiladas and we were blown away at how delicious it was. I highly recommend this place. The waiter was also extremely nice. Their customer service is A+. The restaurant ambience was clean and comfortable. My family owns a Mexican restaurant so I tend to be picky when it comes to eating at restaurants, I pay attention to details, food, service, and presentation. Lol it's annoying to myself and whoever goes out to eat with me, but I can't help it. Hahaha. Thank you to Mariscos La Palma for excellent food and service. I will be back. First off the service was amazing i was immediately greated by the owner of the restaurant reall energetic and super nice guy. My Server Isabella was really nice and sweet and was constantly checking up on me to make sure i was satisfied. The first time i ordered an alcoholic drink called La Santa Recommended by the owner and boy was i satisfied. When it came down to the food the Ranchera Steak was so worth the money as soon as i took that first bite it just melted in my mouth like butter it was literally just a burst of flavor that chimichurri sauce was on point Second Visit This time that i went to the restaurant there had been a change in there menu but boy o boy was i amazed the milanesa de pollo was so good. So much flavor and the crunch was just amazing. A plate like this and including drink for 13.99 dammmm such a great price I Would tottally recommend anyone to come and eat here and the drinks are really good the second time i tried a drink called blue magic omg was it so delicious couldn't taste the alcohol but boy is that the dangerous part cause i went through 3 of them and got tipsy but over all 10 out of 10 best restaurant food wise and best service in my opinion.
