This is the second time I've been a Green Street (because friends wanted to go there). I ordered the salmon dinner each time. I carefully explained to the servers that I was on a low sodium diet and asked them to use as little salt as possible, which was one reason I ordered the salmon--it could be ordered plain, without seasoning. My overall summary: The food was just "okay." The second time, the salmon was overcooked and somewhat dry. Despite asking for low sodium, I got vegetables (broccolini the first time and mixed vegetables the second) that were highly seasoned and, to my taste, hard and undercooked. The rice pilaf accompaniment was average, and over-salted. On my the most recent visit, my salmon dinner was around $35, which was expensive for the quality of the food that was served. I came to GSR with two colleagues and we had a wonderful time. We made a reservation in advance for lunchtime and were quickly seated upon arrival. The salads here are huge! We each got a salad and def couldn't finish them. I got the Cornucopia without blue cheese and thought it was excellent. However, my friend got the Dianne and I have to admit that was much tastier! Again, the salad portions are huge so be prepared to take some home or, better yet, share it with a friend. The zucchini bread is also very good. It's dense but moist. It comes w butter but I think it's great on its own without butter. I hope to come back again to try something else! My friends love the breakfast menu so maybe I'll try that next time. This was my second time visiting Green St. In six years. Both times we sat outside on busy Shoppers Ln. with mature planter box plants sheltering us from the street. While the Diane Salad was pretty much lettuce, almonds, sesame seeds, chicken, and fried/puffed rice noodles, it was all brought together with their Diane Salad, salad dressing. $22.50 for a large, which in 3 days you will never be able to finish so don't order that huge amount. Truly an excellent experience for my 87 years young parents who are picky! I made reservations on Mother's Day. I was worried because this was a new to us restaurant and as I stated my parents are REALLY picky. They both loved their meal and even more importantly the service was amazing. EVERY staff member was courteous and observant and VERY helpful. It first started as I was sitting outside waiting for our table. One of the staff members came from inside the restaurant and set up an umbrella to protect my mother and I from the sun which was blaring down. We didn't ask him to do this. He observed us, and did it on his own accord. Next our server was SO accommodating and courteous. He took our orders patiently and gave us all of our options. Our food came out quickly and efficiently and was so delicious. One of the servers who brought us our drinks noticed that my dad was wearing a shirt from Zion National park which sparked a lovely conversation. He showed me his pictures from his trip and I showed him mine from the trip I had just taken. It was just a simple but pleasant interaction. Before we left, my dad asked if we could come back soon. He paid attention to every customer that morning! When i walked in, I actually told Armando that I wanted a Dianne Salad. He asked me if I wanted a full order or a half. I was so excited to return to Green Street after four years had passed since my last Pasadena trip. Unfortunately the quality of the Kale Diane, a version of their signature salad, has dropped significantly. Not only was it woefully underdressed, but the solid ratio of greens to rice noodles was warped in favor of the latter. It's not super obvious in the photo but below the top layer there is only an abundance of the noodles with hardly any kale to speak of. Additionally, the rough stems of the kale are left in, adding to to the over-crunchiness of the dish. It is an immense amount of food that felt like a chore to get through. I am grateful they're willing to omit the chicken to make it vegetarian but they brought out a version with chicken at first and had to make me a new one after I pointed out the mistake. With a little extra dressing, it's still solid, but not a destination if you're only in the area for a day. I strongly recommend they review the ratios and make it a salad with noodles instead of noodles with a kale garnish. read more

They never asked how he wanted it cooked, and it arrived rare. He requested crispy fries, but they were regular and had to be sent back. This place has been around a while, a little difficult to find but once you do you walk into old Pasadena vibes a fresh new decor. Everyone goes for the Diane salad and if you can drink, the bar is wide open. They have clean restrooms and friendly staff . Parking is next-door there is a fee and they do not validate. They have an amazing breakfast that still is reasonably priced . Their dinners are a bit on the high end, but you pay for what you get. I popped in for a salad and zucchini bread and a dressing to take home. It was way more than I thought I could pay, but the flavors are divine and I peed it. Honestly, I can make this salad at home but their dressing is what makes it great! The newest thing they have are cute appetizers and I've been there for gatherings with family and we've enjoyed the trio, guacamole. Also, my son like the sliders and I liked the soup. read more
