Every once in a while the universe lines up and you find a completely unexpected gem. Today was one of those days! We had actually ventured out to visit another local place nearby and that didn't pan out. So... Yelp (and Perry) to the rescue!! When you come for the first time, it's a little hard to find as the sign isn't easy to see from the street and we drove by twice before spotting it. Well, thank goodness we did because this was the best sandwich I've had in a loooooong time! After a difficult time making a single selection, i almost got a hotdog instead, I chose the Hey Joe. The second I laid eyes on my basket, I knew I's made the right choice and I also knew I was in trouble. There were instantly serious doubts about being able to finish this behemoth. This offering had roast beef, pastrami, and a hot link all surrounded by fresh veggies and sauce. there was even a small side of Perry's secret recipe sauce that has a slight kick without hijacking the show. Be ready to eat, once you pick it up. It's hard to put down. I can't say enough good things about my experience at Perry's Joint today. I had to dissect the last 1/4 of my sandwich because I wasn't going to be able to polish it off in full form. The pastrami was some of the best I've had anywhere, the quality of the hot link was outstanding, and the roast beef was tender and flavorful. Any of these alone would make an outstanding sandwich on its own, but combined they're impossible to beat. Perry, you deserve a medal for coming up with this! I can't wait to come back and try something else. Maybe one of the dogs too! When I was done eating I went to express my gratitude for the food and service and was greeted by Perry himself. He and his staff and I talked for several minutes and we got a little back story and found he's been there since 2004. You don't stay in the culinary business for 20+ years unless your food and service are great. The interior is simple but warm, clean, and well taken care of. There are a few tables inside and I think I saw some outside as well. I'm guessing there's a busy to-go time at the lunch rush. What Perry's Joint does: they feed you PLENTY of great food. They use only the best ingredients and you can taste it, they smile and treat you extremely well. What Perry's Joint doesn't do: They don't skimp on portions, if you leave hungry, it's because you stopped eating, not because they didn't give you enough food. They don't rip you off, for the size of my sandwich and the obvious quality and love that went into it, it was an extremely fair price! If you're in the neighborhood and they're open, you'd be doing yourself an injustice by not checking out Perry's Joint. I know I'll be back and my local friend will be putting this in the rotation. read more

Man this the BEST sandwich I ever had in my life!!! The venue is next to my dental office and I needed a bite to eat in between time of my appointment. So the dental assistant recommended. I walked and when I entered the venue is very homey. The menu is colorful with tons of delicious options. Carter is the manager of the establishment he is very vibrant and welcoming. He offers his best option and leaves no biases. While managing he also helps clean and prepare food. Hope helped create my sandwich and when I say, she put that thang together. Listen I'll let your taste buds speak for itself Akayla was managing the phones and helped me see the fresh fruit juices they offer. This team is the real deal. Dope vibes and very attentive to detail. Sean helped me take my order and he recommended the "Guru " sandwich. Seeing as though it was my first time, I needed a professional choice to pick the right one. When I say the "Guru" sandwich on that croissant was life changing ! Listen ! Mouthwatering deliciousness. Mind you this in the middle of a dentist appointment. Very few places live up to their hype. Perry's has phenomenal food offerings. I've seen numerous complaints about order processing, but I planned ahead and had zero problems. I simply picked my sandwich and phoned my order in. Took all of 2 mins to collect it, about 15 mins later. Staff was super friendly and the ambiance was great. I considered dining in. I will say I had a bad impression going in because I had their sandwich before at airport but who knows how long those have been there. I'm glad I made the trip. They have a good variety of sandwiches to select from but I went with chicken salad on white, they were out of croissants. The sandwiches are pretty packed with stuff. They actually put chicken salad on both sides of the bread with lettuce, tomatoes, and apple slices in between. The chicken was very tasty with the apples giving it a little tartness. Second time at this location. I've frequented the Lincoln Ave. location in the past. To my pleasant surprise, this location has a fresh juice bar. It's called Omi's Juices (or something close). I ordered both a sandwich (this time the turkey, last time the Hip Bird) and a fresh juice. Service was that same level of top-notch service I have come to expect with Perry's establishments. As with the Lincoln location, the food here is consistently amazing. The juice (I ordered "Liver Love" both times) was so much better than I expected. Refreshing, delicious and healing. Both the food and the juice are super fresh. This venue is roomier, cozy and very inviting. You're tempted to hang out and listen to a couple jazz LP's or read a book. That's the vibe it gives off. There is also covered outside seating. Perfect for small groups, book clubs, meetups and more. The only drawback is that the parking could potentially be an issue. However, on my first visit, I stumbled upon Perry's when I had business at the post office (directly across the street on Lincoln & Orange Grove). So I strolled across the street. First time coming here! It won't be the last :) Right when I entered the vibes were very sweet local. A lot of people waiting but no one seemed angry that they were waiting. The people at the counter were so friendly it felt like I was giving a friend my order. My sandwich was probably the best sandwich I ever had. They did take a bit longer for my son's chili cheese hot dog to come out but the lady at the counter was so sweet and gave him some ice cream for waiting. Definitely recommend. One of my favorite sandwich spots in Pasadena. I've had the chance to meet the owner twice, and both times he was incredibly kind and welcoming. You can tell he genuinely cares about his customers and the community. I also appreciate the variety on the menu. There's something for everyone. I've tried several of their drinks, including the milkshake, the green drink, the beet drink, and the Ginger Gobana. Every one of them was fresh and delicious. The Perry's Classic Detroit hot dog was bomb and I added jalapeños which was the cherry on top for me. The chili, the sausage, and the jalapeños all came together perfectly. It was messy in the best way and packed with flavor. The staff has always been friendly, the gentlemen with who is tall, long hair, (forgot his name) making our sandwiches was awesome. You can tell they take pride in what they serve. The Hey Joe is exactly my kind of sandwich. It's loaded with pastrami, roast beef, hot links, and more. Big, hearty, and absolutely delicious. The biggest surprise for me was the tuna sandwich. I honestly don't like tuna, but one guy making the sandwiches told me to trust him and give it a try. I'm so glad I did because it was hands down the best tuna sandwich I've ever had. It completely changed my expectations. IT TOOK ONE HOUR JUST TO GET MY SANDWICH. Ten minutes wait just to place an order after the customer before me ordered and 50+ minutes just to get my food. I understand they were really busy but the irritating part was the lack of notice or heads up it would be a long wait. Had my coworkers and I known it would take this long we would have gone somewhere else. Even when placing an order, not even an acknowledgment of "hey, thanks for waiting, I'll be right with you," nothing. The best (worst) part is after all this, they gave me the WRONG FOOD. I ordered the hip bird and they gave me whatever this is. I love to support small businesses and I hate to be the one to leave a bad review but there were a lot of frustrated customers today, not just me. This is not it you guys, sorry (not sorry). We were looking for a place to stop by along the way and wanted to try this out. We went ahead to order in advance by placing our order through the phone, which is pretty convenient tbh. When we got there, we found it's located in a medical plaza, so it's not at an obvious place to find! Street parking would be your best bet. The joint itself was very spacious, ample of tables, but also many others waiting for their order. We saw that even though we placed our phone order ahead, it seemed like the employees were working pretty slowly... which makes sense for the hold up of people waiting for their sandwiches. Getting our sandwiches, we got the Hip Bird and the Hey Joe sandwich. Honestly the Hip Bird is a very classic sandwich, although I wish there was more avocado on it. Everything tasted fresh but the more I ate, the more I thought about how I could've just made this sandwich at home lol. Nothing too impressive, but it's not really worth the price you're paying for it unless you're lazy. Also the mustard sauce in it didn't seem like it enhanced it that much. Wish there was something more special about it. As for the Hey Joe, it's definitely all the meats in one sandwich that my bf enjoys, but that destroyed him LOL it was so heavy, very greasy, just heart clogging. The sandwich is good, but makes you feel pretty terrible about yourself (unless you enjoy it all the way). Otherwise, service was mid, sandwiches are okay. I typically only write reviews when I'm happy. But, today I'm a Karen. We arrived at 1:00 on a Saturday- post lunch rush. There were 5 people in line. Not super busy. We ordered food at 1:16. TWO sandwiches - a turkey and a roast beef. Once the 5 customers ordered, hardly anyone came in to order - maybe 3-5 people. We got our food at 2:13 (see photo receipt). (Maybe wouldn't have been as irritated if they gave us a heads up when we ordered that they were backed up/behind) Sandwich was a large portion but for 30 bucks and an hour wait, not worth it. Turkey was thin and slimy. Roast beef came with onions - which wasn't listen on the menu, and totally soggy. We had an hour drive home and decided to stop here because the reviews were good and thought we would get a quick bite. Would have been better off driving all the way home and making our own sandwiches. It's not like they're baking the bread fresh and slaughtering the turkey in the back. We watched them make the sandwhiches on sliced bread out of a bag. If you have nothing to do all day - take a chance. Perry is often present at the restaurant and stops by to say hello to customers. You just don't see that kind of personal attention much. He runs a great shop. I tried the veggie dog Detroit style. It's pretty good. Of course veggie dogs aren't the same thing as beef hot dogs, but putting on some delicious toppings makes it very enjoyable. Parking seems to be relegated to street parking. I walked in today Friday August 4 2026 i was walking into buy omis juice and I greeted all workers with a good morning and was ignored. I stood there for about 2 minutes waiting to ask if the juice was available and all I got was ignored they were all busy making food and nobody to service cashier or greet guests? . I looked at 2 workers directly and got no response. Very unfortunate situation I had to walk out and didn't want business there anymore.
