Chicken Parm sandwich
michelle y.

Tiny little joint but really good food. Though not celiac safe there are heaps of GF options. Chicken parm sammy was epically good. Thin cutlet, super moist. Sauce was nice. Bread was crunchy but not hard. Pizzas were all good. Little greasy. Bruschetta was a free amuse bouche. Delicious tomato mix. Acidic, spicy 10/10. Only serves beer and wine in limited amounts. Would go back for sure !

BBQ pizza

Omg this place is so comforting and the staff are phenomenal! Super nice and happy to answer any questions we had about the menu. The Spicy Pasta -- the sauce is DIE for! (Pro-tip: order the stuffed mushrooms w sausage and make those babies swim in this sauce). Pasta is cooked perfectly al dente. The sauce isn't too spicy (so if you have wiggle room to make the pasta MORE spicy if you want). Stuffed Mushrooms -- these are little crack bombs. They are savory, salty and have the "lingering taste" that makes you want to order more. Burrata Salad w/ Seasonal Fruit -- The Burrata cheese is fresh and delicate and whatever balsamic the kitchen gave us --- it's a hit! This dish is a refreshing additional that compliments the pizza and pasta entrees BBQ Pizza -- the pizza didn't feel too overwhelming. Not overloaded w/ toppings. I really like the bread (we spit the crusts by dipping it in the balsamic and the pasta sauce). The dough has a nice soft crunch to it but it is soft/chewy enough that it doesn't hurt your teeth. I like pizzas that have a bit more sauce to them (personal preference) but pizza is a nice "lighter version" to enjoy w some wine. This place has limited indoor seating and an outdoor seating area. I am really excited to try more of the menu!

The pizza and free toy

The food here was really good I had the spicy jojo's pizza and it was one of the best pizza's I ever had. The service was so good and they were also kind enough to give my kids toys. Our waitress Cynthia was really kind and showed us all the dessert's and helped us what to order. The Ambiance was like I was in Italy and it had a dodger game on the 2 tv's outside.

Had a quick dinner with a friend here in Pasadena on a Friday night. We ordered two pasta dishes, and it came with a complimentary appetizer. As much as I would love to give this place five stars, unfortunately, I found a piece of white hair in my appetizer sauce, which made the rest of the meal a bit harder to enjoy. The spicy pasta I ordered was still good overall (8/10). The cheesy bread it came with was great, and I liked how rich and thick the cream sauce was with the seasoning well incorporated. Service-wise, the cashiers were a bit rushy, likely because it was close to closing time. The ambience inside was nice and cozy, and there was also outdoor seating available. Parking is available at the parking structure across the street for around $7 on a weekday night.

Vegetable Minestrone Soup

Our favorite part of the meal was the complimentary bread & dip as well as the soup. Both Tomato Bisque and Vegetable Minestrone were so flavorful. Don't be alarmed. The food was good too. The Shrimp & Crab Ravioli, a special, had a good amount of crab. Jo Jo's Spicy Pasta is deservingly a popular dish. The portion was generous. The restaurant is tiny with a few tables. The patio is more spacious although I didn't step outside. I believe diners were watching a game on TV outside. Service was friendly and attentive. Our server offered us more bread & dip after we devoured the first round. I look forward to returning.

We stopped in for a good meal. And a great meal we had! Chicken Parmigiana, Lasagna and Ravioli. We had soup and salad. The soup was hot and the salad was fresh and crisp. We even brought home a little for tomorrow. Our server was so helpful. There several menus due to Valentine Day. We dined outside and were do happy to have a heater. The outside dining was so nice. They have nice lighting and great music playing. However I know they can't help it but flocks of birds kept flying over squawking. So glad they have a covering over the dining area so we didn't get pooped on.

What a Pasadena gem! We really loved this small business and found the pasta and pizza to be abundant and delicious!! I particularly loved the Pasta (though it wasn't spicy at all). Service was quick. We sat outside on a busy Friday night but got taken care of quickly. Ambiance is nice; there is a small indoor seating area and a really lovely outdoor patio perfect for upcoming fall nights :)

Ice House

We were a party of 4 looking for dinner before an Ice House show and were more than pleasantly surprised when we found this amazing spot. There is both inside and patio seating with a very home style atmosphere. I had the pasta carbonara which was comparable to pasta in Rome. It came with cheese toast, a very nice addition. Our party also had soup and a very large walnut salad that filled a very large plate. Our server was very attentive, informative and helpful.

Found this hidden gem in Pasadena, tucked away on a quiet street, it almost looked abandoned at first, lol. I was craving pasta, and this place did not disappoint. Honestly, I've never been big on pasta or Italian food, but after eating at Tardino, I was hooked. The food is immaculate, so good I ended up coming back every week. The owner/chef even hooked me up with some red and green onions, which added the perfect flavor. I'm officially addicted. If you're visiting LA (or even if you live here), you have to check this cute little restaurant out!

31. Death Star Meat Lover Pizza(no ham)
Gizelle F.

Patio dining. Street parking only. Music videos playing on a screen, very kid and dog friendly! Was pleasantly surprised by how tasty and filling the pizza is. A 12 inch pizza is enough for two people! We ordered the death star with no ham. The JoJo's spicy pasta, despite being highly recommended on the menu, didn't really have much flavor for me. I didn't find it very spicy. It just tasted somewhat oily. I also thought the pear and Gorgonzola salad was just ok. They were very kind towards my family with great service. I would return again, definitely for the death star pizza, and possibly try a different salad.

Can we reserve for 20 people?

Does this restaurant allow customers to bring dogs to the outdoor eating area?

Yes, I believe they allow dining with the dogs if you are dining on the patio. They now serve brunch on Sunday mornings.

Any vegan options? Thanks

I usually order a personal size pizza without cheese, add green olives with extra sauce. I don't believe there is any dairy or meat. They also have a minestrone soup that is Vegan friendly. They like to accommodate as much as possible but they don't… Read more

There were an abundance of ready made slices to select. Per the staff, they have vegan cheese options for whole pizzas, but none for ready made slices. Just as an FYI. They also offer a number of sandwiches as well. The number of items is vast and of great variety. Now for the pizza. The selection was a mix NY slices and square slices. I was looking for some to go. So I decided on the squares cause I love those slices! I went with Pepperoni Grandma and a Pepperoni Honey DeNiro. The staff will heat it up for you on the oven and even cut slices in half to enjoy them. I loved the flavors and the crisp edges. It had a great crunch in each bite and taste was solid. My favorite of the too was the Pepperoni Honey DeNiro. The hot honey on this slice made this option stand out to me. The mix of sweet and savory paired with heat is my kind of combo of flavor. :) I would come back again if I'm craving pizza and would think of the trying a sandwich too in the future because their menu looked good. Thanks, Brooklyn Square! ( ^_^)b

Beautiful marinated chicken wings, pork rib-lets and pork belly greeted me as I walked into protein bliss. The meat offerings were abundant!! In addition, there was a selection of marinated olives, cheeses, salmon and even pastries (located in front of the cold cases). Gaspar, (I'm not sure what his role is there) was so warm and welcoming. He assured me that I will not find better marinated meats. I bought the spicy wings. It was always a real treat. As a teenager I dated a couple of the girls that worked there so I was there on the regular in those days. In my 20's I lived right up the street and hit them up quite often. I don't get there as much as I'd like nowadays but when I do, it is always consistently great. Times have definitely changed but Connal's quality food and super customer service has not! I am a huge Combination Grinder fan and have not ordered anything different for well over 30 years. They are always stacked with lots of high quality cold cuts and delicious Provolone, crisp shredded Lettuce, thin sliced Onions and Vinegar and Oil on a delicious French Roll. In my teens and 20's I did try many samplings on their vast menu and as memory serves, everything was always delicious. Today's Grinder absolutely hit the spot! It had been a while since I last tasted one but the Combo Grinder most definitely never disappoints. I went for it, and got Zings (Zucchini Sticks and Onion Rings). Super hot, crisp and very tasty, especially with some Bleu Cheese Dressing. Jesse took my order and he was very personable and showed me some excellent customer service. But the crown jewel of the meal, as it has always been, is the fried zucchini. I have never found better fried zucchini, and trust me, I've been trying for years. Service at the window was just as friendly as I remembered, and we grabbed a spot tucked under the patio instead of staying inside--perfect for people-watching as folks came and went. There's something really special about being welcomed back by a place that tastes exactly like you remember. Connal's still delivers.
