    Green omelette

Ten years ago, they were a sit down restaurant but have since transitioned to a "order and grab a table number" system. They now only offer outdoor patio seating. Came for brunch one chilly morning and the huge heat lamps kept me pretty toasty. Ordered the green omelette and was expecting some green eggs and ham type dish but it was essentially a broccoli taco. Not bad, but it was alot of broccoli. Food is overall pretty good and they have a pretty unique menu too. I would come back but probably only on the weekdays as I can see it getting pretty crowded during the weekends.

I went to Julienne for breakfast after a night shift and it was such a lovely way to start the morning. The space is cute and cozy, and they have an adorable little store attached with Christmasy trinkets and pastries I would love to try next time. They have patio seating with very strong (maybe too strong) overhead space heaters but it was nice to have that option. The staff were kind and welcoming which I really appreciated after a long night. I tried the popular open face smoked salmon sandwich and the breakfast burrito which were both pretty well fresh, clean, and well made. Julienne is just adorable. A peaceful easy breakfast spot, and one I'd happily return to again. I'll definitely be back.

Julienne is an opulent local cafe and pastry shop tucked in one of the prettiest neighborhoods in LA County. And one of the oldest cafe business in the area. This cute little cafe has small outdoor patio, with a French setting. Thus, a very popular breakfast spot for locals. They serve coffee, tea, pastries, salads and American-Mexican breakfast items. I have drove pass by this cafe for years on weekends but always find it too busy or have a long wait. So we decided to go on a weekday. We came on cool Monday morning; we grabbed a table first before placing an order at the counter inside. We had a coffee, croissant and berry waffles. All three taste good, just the way I liked it. Food presentation was beautiful. Staff were very affable and competent. Service was brilliantly spot on. Prices were higher than most cafe shop/restaurant. Overall, I enjoyed my breakfast. I'd recommend you try this French cafe.

Love this breakfast spot. Little far from where I live but worth the drive. Nice beautiful area. Went there for brunch, their omelette with a quick high protein. This spot is more like cafe, you have to order and pay ahead, quick service, Hope to be back with my family.!

Favorite place for brunch in the Pasadena area. Lots of good options everything great. There's a gift shop and deli instead too with great products. Love stopping by here to grab cute, fun, and unique gifts too. 10/10. Recommend

Rainy Day choices and most places aren't open before 11am. Remembered that I wanted to try Julienne for a while and my brother was cool with it as he's been here several times in the past. It's a quaint little restaurant nestled in a store. Very reminiscent of a little French shop. The young man taking orders at the counter was a bit busy but we weren't in a hurry and he was very apologetic as he was also making the espresso drinks as well as taking orders. His recommendations were helpful and the rest of the staff were very attentive. I appreciate that the omelette was not greasy but light and not overwhelmingly filled with vegetables. My brother had the burger and fries and he rated it more like 3.5/4 but my overall experience warrants the 5 stars. I probably will come back again as this place is pretty solid.

Came here on a Sunday morning for brunch with a few friends and it was such a cute spot. I ordered the Chicken Spa Salad, which was good just a big oily from the dressing.y friends ordered the French Toast, which smaller amazing and was a big portion. They ran out of water and didn't refill it so I'd be sure to bring your own water next time. Overall, cute spot with good brunch items!

Great Pasadena café and market with an intimate vibe, tasty food, and top-notch service. Perfect for dine-in or takeout. Bonus: wine shop and tastings of their featured selections.

Very cute spot! Lots of outdoor seating and parking around. So this place is 3 places all at once. It's a gift shop, restaurant, & marketplace and they all close at different times which I do think is off. Food was good but pricey. A friend of mine bought stuff at the marketplace and a pack of marshmallows (which wasn't good) cost like $13

The food was amazing! I ordered the breakfast burrito and my brother ordered the chilaquiles with chicken sausage. He also ordered a muffin and I ordered the raspberry muffin. I also ordered an Almer Palmer and a pumpkin spice iced latte. I really enjoyed my burrito and how perfect the size was with the green salsa. The raspberry muffin was jammed packed with flavor and so moist. The service was good. Our servers will come by every other 5 min to check in if we needed something or clean up. The ambiance is okay too but tables are a bit too close to other guests but I will for sure come back for a sandwich next time.

ambiance 10/10 cute french style place service you don't really interact with the customers, so u can't really rate on service but the bakery area had great service , super nice employee which helped me pick out an amazing fruit tart , i don't have a pic but it was pretty and probably the best fruit tart i've ever had food salmon - small portion but a good portion; and the bread is small and dense bread pudding - i'm not a really good judge of bread pudding quality since this is my first bread pudding dish green omlette - okay , not much flavor emitting from the i wouldn't go back for the dishes , i would want to try their hot chocolate and i would come back for a fruit tart but there was a lacking on the dishes, flavor, texture, and blend

Had a late breakfast here. We were able to find a seat right away. It is outdoor seating very nice place. Orders are done at counter and are brought to your table. They also have a little market inside. Very nice place

Like in Paris, they do not do doggie bags (nor take-out containers of any kind) The spirit of French dining is alive and well here, except for the fact they do not serve wine or beer (I didn't ask if it was byob or if there was a corkage fee). La Vie has been on the corner of Fern and San Gabriel as long as I can remember. When looking for eats in the SGV, Asian food comes to mind but French food from the Julia Child days?? La Vie serves up classic -- almost kitschy -- french dishes, smack dab in the middle of the SGV: coq au vin, escargots, duck l'orange, etc. I've had an itch for steak au poivre for a while, and the featured photo on their Yelp profile beckoned (kudos to the photographer!!) I ordered their L'entrecote aux Trois Poivres -- sirloin steak with black, green, & pink peppercorn sauce. Entree includes soup of the day and a simple iceberg salad. Also, coffee if you want it. Their sides of the day-- sautéed snow peas, scalloped potatoes, and carrot purée, were also really tasty as was the soup. Pretty sure the beef was "choice", not "prime", but it was prepared really well and with care. I'm also pretty sure the cut was New York, not sirloin. The ambiance is equally nostalgic and kitschy and homey. Like the cuisine and the restaurant, this place doesn't pretend to be anything it isn't. Although it's not pho, egg rolls, rice rolls, or fan tuan, La Vie is still an SGV dining institution. It's nice to know La Vie is close by.

The iconic crêpe isn't much of you think about it but the execution of what it should be isn't as easy as most people think. The food here at Monsieur Crêpe is done and executed well. It is very reminiscent of what I expect from a crêpe. Having travelled to the iconic city of lights on numerous occasions, I can easily say that what is served here is done very nicely, unlike an elitist Yelper stated. I had the gluten free option for my Normandie and it was executed well. Again, if you expect a crêpe to be packed up like a burrito, go get a burrito instead! A loaded crêpe is not iconic just for your information. Also had the Crêpe Suzette and the elasticity of the crêpe is what you would expect. French Onion Soup was excellent according to my brother, not salty, but flavorful. My brother also had the omelette with ham and brie. He did enjoy it and commented that the brie should have been melted a bit more but was good nonetheless. There are some public lots or street parking in the area. The creperie is a quaint little restaurant with French inspired décor. There are a few small tables inside. It was a rainy day so the outdoor seating wasn't set up, but I saw tables and chairs stacked up so I think they normally have more seating. We were seated and service was friendly. My boyfriend had a Forester ($19) which is one of their savory crepes with bacon, mushroom, caramelized onions, and crème fraiche. I had the Normandy ($19) which is a savory crepe with brie cheese caramelized onions, ham, topped with julienne apples and sour cream and a Vanilla Latte ($5.75). I was intrigued by the French Onion Soup ($16) too but I thought it was way too expensive for a side of soup. My vanilla latte came out first, but I wasn't too impressed with either the taste or the presentation. I prefer no design over a poorly made design. The food took a really long time to come out. Considering how hungry I was, my standards were pretty low... and I wasn't too impressed by the time the crepes came out. They weren't awful but they weren't impressive. There wasn't much filling, and for mine I didn't get much of the caramelized onion taste or visual of it. It was like a thin layer of ham with barely any brie and a soggy soggy crepe. Too soggy for my liking. Both taste and texture were underwhelming. This was an overpriced meal that wasn't too filling or satisfying. As we recently went to France a couple of months ago, we reminisced of the crepes we had in Paris and how much more affordable it was getting 5€ crepes for greater satisfaction. I would more likely go back to Paris for crepes or anywhere else than to come back here. -- Quick note cause I had some questions about if I was being harsh comparing these crepes to the ones I had in France. Even independently the price is too high and the flavors are too lacking for a bland snack.

What makes 1894 truly special is how intentionally it celebrates literature. Everything in the bar pays homage to the bookstore. The drink menu is full of clever, book-inspired names. You'll find cocktails like Pride and PearJudice Pride, Fifty Shades of Earl Grey, and other fun literary twists. Every drink feels like a little wink to readers, writers, and book lovers, and it adds such a unique charm to the experience. The vibe is super quaint and warm, dim lighting, and a creative atmosphere that makes you want to stay for hours. The wine is on the pricier side ($19-$21 per glass), but the quality delivers. Customer service was excellent. One of the bartenders spent time chatting with us. He pointed out a chalk artwork behind the bar a dramatic portrait he drew himself featuring expressive, literary-style faces, like Edgar Allan Poe, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, etc. It fits perfectly with the creative, bookish aesthetic of the bar. If you're into books, wine, and unique experiences, 1894 is a spot you absolutely can't miss. Perfect for a date, a solo unwind-with-a-book moment, or a fun night with friends who appreciate a good story and a great drink.

Cute little place inside Vroman's to get a glass of wine and read! I saw that they have live jazz…read moremusic on Thursdays sometimes so I hope to check that out. Good ambiance!
