I'm not sure if it was closed early due to a family emergency, decreased operating budget, staffing, or loss, but it's disappointing to take time to drive down and find nothing about current operating hours. If they update the operating information on Yelp, I'll gladly update this review if I know when I can have lunch or dinner there. Until then, I wouldn't expect to revisit any time soon. read more

THE CURRENT NAME IS LEMON AVE CAFE. After wandering around trying to figure out where we were, we saw the La Creperie Cafe sign on the inside of the dining area. This post is mostly for that info. We ate Nutella banana French toast and Hawaiian French toast (made out of Hawaiian bread). They tasted a teeny bit burned, but they had a good consistency and they looked perfect. Well this is our second time here at this restaurant. To be honest with you, the first time was questionable, and usually, we don't go a 2nd round. However, I talked to my husband to try it again. We are both happy we did. The pictures below says it all. This meal and service were right on point. The reason I did t give the a 5 star was the first time we felt rushed because they were closing in 1.5 after we arrived. Please note: this time we arrived earlier and no customers were at the restaurant but us. I would say call prior because they close when they want to. I have now been to La Creperie Cafe twice, so it is time to review! I am so happy about this establishment having opened because I really like them! I love the crepes, and am happy I won't have to drive to Sierra Madre for good crepes now that I have them here. For the savory crepes, I have ordered the Zorba both times I have been there, and have tried the Curry because someone else ordered it. I absolutely loved both! The Zorba has an amazing tomato sauce that I really want to have on a pasta or something, lol. The Curry crepe is also fantastic, but unfortunately, I won't be ordering that because I am trying to eat vegetarian... actually, I wish they had a tofu or veggie version of this! For the sweet crepes, I have only had the napoleon, and it was great! I loved that creme brulee they put in it, such a nice touch! The service is also great! The people working there are so nice, and the gentleman that has helped me twice even calls us "family," not necessary, but a nice touch! Always a good spot for breakfast, Brunch, Lunch or dinner. Delicious food as always and George is always taking care of everyone with his great character. I had the steak omelette with extra beef, the other dish is Crepe Carbonara and for dessert we had the Martinique. Highly highly recommended! Love, love this place! I think it has officially become our Sunday family breakfast spot! Their George II omelette is amazing!! My kids love their kids options and my husband also loved their chorizo crepe. They have a variety of entrees from authentic French cuisine (frog legs) down to basic pancakes and leave room for dessert! Oh and they can serve a great margarita or michelada!! Now if you still have room for some dessert, I recommend the dulce de leche with a creme brûlée crust. There is nothing redeeming nor French about this place. Having crepes on your menu is only the apparatus you bought at the restaurant supply house. All jokes aside, the staff seems poorly trained or simply trying to catch up with things. On my first visit, I found a single person working tables while four others were behind the bar. At any given moment there were two just standing there on their phones while I was trying to get my coffee refilled. Even the heavy smoke from the poor ventilation coming out from the kitchen couldn't hide them. Their menu selection is more than just crepes. This is good because their crepes are far from amazing as other reviewers are describing them. At this price they are charging for savory crepes you would think this is fine dining, but the execution just isn't there. They even falter on the most simple French-style dessert crepe creation of butter, sugar, and lemon. Needless to say, there is little value here. This French-inspired cafe has some work to do to become par with its name. I do suggest that they start with their coffee because the regular drip coffee here was atrocious, and whoever is pulling espresso shots needs to get their machine tuned and request the owner to purvey a better coffee from the start. read more

I drive by this place often and never thought much of it, but that was a huge mistake on my part! This comfortable, cozy, local restaurant was a pleasant surprise. I've currently been there twice and I wasn't disappointed. The first time, I ordered one of their egg crepes. Phenomenal! I got my eggs sunnyside up and they were cooked perfectly. The yolk was runny, the cheese was gooey, and the flavor was top notch! Well worth the money. The second time, I ordered the southwest crepe. The balance between the avocado, salsa, and tomatoes was perfect; which left me craving more, but I was far too full. For drinks, I had the iced tea and the second time, the cappuccino. The ice tea was fresh, and wasn't that cheap Lipton most places serve. The cappuccino was fluffy, warm, but not too hot It's where I can drink it almost immediately. The staff are friendly, and very welcoming. The atmosphere is also very comforting. I often enjoy Cafe Doodling, and the staff were very open to letting me just relax, eat, and draw. I like when I get to brunch with new breakfast menus. I prefer a savory breakfast so I chose a plate with a little of everything: quiche, salad, & pomme frites = fries. We went in right when the place opened at 9 am. A little hard to find. Between the bagel place & acai bowl. An entire building of brunch options. I know quiche can be dense but the salad helps cut through the dense egg and the fries of course adds to the flavors. Three of us ordered the quiche dish. We cleared our plates. Loved the outdoor seating area especially during these hot summers evenings as it provided an intimate setting. We ordered the sangria and Moscow mule. These were fantastic, refreshing and quite strong! I especially enjoyed fresh fruit that accompanied in the sangria. My friend and I happened come here because Sal's and Bowl of Heaven was closed. We've never been here so we decided to drop in and try it out. The workers were super friendly and atmosphere was nice overall. I had the breakfast burrito. It was a standard breakfast burrito with eggs, bacon, cheese, avocado and tots. It wasn't super tasty but it wasn't bad. I think there could've been more seasoning thrown in there. The fruit seemed like it was frozen and then defrosted and put in a bowl. TL;DR. Food here is delicious with large portions; plenty for all sorts of cravings. Double check your orders if you're doing take out and call ahead to avoid a long wait. Kids menu is available, ask for a physical menu as the TV menus behind the register doesn't show it. FULL REVIEW. Came here on a Sunday afternoon to order take out for lunch. I had a large order (food for 6-7 people). The dine in service didn't seem to be too busy and there was maybe 1 or 2 groups that came in while I was waiting for my order. I ordered my food at 1:15pm and the food was ready to go at 2:00pm. This is both a good and bad thing. I watched them make all of the food, fresh, in my order so I know it wasn't "microwaved", however even though it was a lot of food, it did feel like it took forever for the food to come out. I can't imagine dining at the restaurant and waiting that long for food, especially with a group of hungry people or hangry kids. Speaking of kids, while I was waiting I did notice that the menu boards above the register don't show that the place has a kids menu. They do have options for kids, however those options are only found on the physical dine in menu. The food itself was really good. As my family was eating we were already talking about what we liked and would want to order again and what we would want to try next time. The crepes were large and could feed at least 2 people for one order (or feed 1 very hungry person LOL). The disappointing part of our meal was when we realized that we were supposed to get the fries with our mussels appetizer but they were no where to be found. The fries were not given to us. A simple mistake that can be fixed for dine in but not for take out if you don't notice this until you get home. This wasn't that big of a deal to us as we were pretty stuffed from all the food, but make sure you double check your order before you leave the restaurant. The service could be a bit quicker and servers/cooks could double check the order is 100% completed before letting it go out. With that said, I would definitely go here again as the food was delicious and they have plenty of options for almost all your cravings. read more

So I have been here several times. Once with my wife and kids and another with just my wife. One time I ordered the jambalaya and got like one piece of shrimp and 2 pieces of sausage so for being that it's not the cheapest meal I was kinda irritated. But my wife and kids loved their crepes and waffles. My wife always does the more savory foods. She absolutely loves them here. And she says the drinks are very very good. I drink water or unsweetened peach iced tea. The spicy cubed potatoes are very good. Nothing fancy but try them. The second time I got the potatoes the chorizo omelette and Martinique waffle with no ice cream. Potatoes and waffles amazing. I could eat them all say every day. Literally. The omelette was just ok. I asked for no onion because I hate onions but it came riddled with onion. It took a minute to get our food because it was very busy and there was only one server so I just didn't eat the omelette and made the comment upon checking out that it was full of onions to see if she would remove the omelette from my check considering I didn't get it as ordered and didn't eat it. Bit she didn't. So I was kinda disappointed but not enough to ruin my waffle experience. That was bommmmmbb. I'd go back again at a less busy time. I stopped in here for some breakfast before I went to my job this morning. I wasn't expecting much because I've come to expect that American crepes just aren't... right. Let me explain. I went on a study abroad to Paris back in 2018. Right outside my dorm room was an amazing crepe cart, and it ruined me for American crepes forever. I have spent the last four years being disappointed by every crepe I have come across... until today. I ordered the Crepe Madame, hoping my other favorite dish would help make the crepe better, if it were to meet my American expectation, and I was not disappointed! Right as I took my first bite, my favorite French song played, and I felt like I was in heaven! My only regret is that I live in Orange County, and I'm not in La Verne often.
