We hosted our Covina Picklers Early Birds pickleball team's birthday celebration here. It was an absolute smash! The staff accommodated our team's needs perfectly, helping us coordinate table space and bringing out the birthday treats right on cue. The entire staff is absolutely wonderful, very friendly & attentive. Coordinating a meal for a large group can be a nightmare, but they were incredibly fast & organized. The portions were hearty and delicious, perfectly refueling the team, and with the quality of the food shining through despite our large numbers. A special shout-out to our server "Kayla" who kept up with our rowdy energy and our endless coffee refill requests with absolute grace. We love you Kayla! Everything that I've tried here has been really good. Their portions are large and fulfilling. Pancakes, waffles, steak, you name it, it's delicious. The waiters/waitresses are excellent and very quick with their orders and drinks, this includes the kitchen staff working their magic as well. The place is really busy but it moves quick and you get a table before you know it. The place is full of cool artifacts and pictures of Route 66 so there's a lot to see and read as well. This is my second time here! I came the first time back when it was Flappyjacks and I've been wanting to come back to see if it was still the same. I ordered the breakfast wrap and my friend ordered the classic Benedict and they were both so good! Definitely huge proportions and we could not finish our meals at all lol so bear that in mind. However, I really wanted to try something sweet and the customers across from us ordered the banana nut pancakes that looked DELICIOUS. I definitely want to come back for those. I will never eat here again. We use to eat here years ago when it was Flappyjacks. And let me tell you, it has gone down the toilet! The service was absolutely terrible! It was so slow. It was a weekday at about 1130 and it took them forever to bring us our water and beverages, to take our order and to bring our food. We never got refills either. We also noticed a lot of other tables were having problems with their orders or were missing something... it was not just us being picky pants.. Flappyjacks lets you sub a pancake on your omelette or skillet order for an extra charge, these guys don't. So we got banana nut pancakes and got bacon and eggs on the side for an extra $5! If you wanted a side of hashbrowns that was gonna be an extra $7!! I'm not one to ever complain about my food, but my banana but pancakes were raw... so we had to send them back.. it took quite awhile for them to bring the pancakes back out.. we should've just told him to cancel the order altogether... when they brought us our bill the guy told us "oh I discounted it 10% for your inconvenience" .. WOW. Not that was I was expecting anything but %10?! They didn't bring us syrup... We had to look for it on another table... They didn't ask us if we needed ketchup or hot sauce... We had to look for it on another table... Came on a busy Sunday morning, put our name down with a man manager? and we were given a text message to check in, we thought it was odd to have to check in after we had just put our name down. Message on app said we could track our spot in line. After about 35-45 we were first on the list. We were sat in the lobby right next to the host stand and waited (overall wait was like 45 min) after seeing 2-3 people being sat inside (they slammed the outside with little to no wait. Finally went to him and said we've been first on the list and you keep sitting ahead. He tells me you should have checked in with us. I said I checked In with him personally, and to wait more. Then he puts us in a far corner when walking to the table noticed like 5 tables/booths open. I understand holding a wait, but needs to be ran better. This placed used to be Flappy Jack's, and I believe they are under new ownership. However, their menu is still the same. I came in on a weekday, and there was no line. Line was usually long on weekends. Our server was very friendly, attentive, and kind. He kept offering us to fill our water and coffee throughout our brunch. We ordered my favorite stuffed French toasts with strawberry sauce, country Benedict, and country fried steak. My stuffed French toaster was stuffed with cream cheese, and it was the perfect combination with the strawberry sauce. The hash brown was crispy, which was what I love. Unfortunately, this place is still a chaotic mess. The waitstaff felt rushed and weren't very helpful, especially when ordering off the menu. I wasn't asked which fruit compote I wanted, even though there are options, and since I'm not very familiar with their menu, it slipped my mind to specify. I really dislike compote. When my server brought the plate, I clearly looked unsatisfied and even said, "Oh, I forgot this came with compote," but there was no effort to fix it or even suggest having it removed or served on the side. I brushed it off and said it was fine, but the moment passed without any attempt to make it right. I don't enjoy this restaurant, and just like I mentioned in a review I left about nine years ago, the only reason I came back was because my daughter likes their sweet waffles. We usually come for breakfast fare, but we recently had lunch and we decided we had to come back soon to try more lunch fare. Our breakfast faves: Irish Benedict, stuffed French toast, Banana Nut Pancakes, and the Veg Omelette. If you're craving lunch, their tuna melt is BOMB. A thing I love about diners is their amazing service; our server was so friendly and always checked in on us for coffee refills and to ask if we needed anything. Needless to say, my pancakes were huge and everything I had hoped for. Served hot, so fluffy and thick, and even more delicious when I drowned it in maple syrup. I saw other photos that the waffles here look really unique so I convinced my fiance to order it so I can take some bites. The waffles are indeed just as good as they look, if not, even better. They definitely got the waffle part down too. They are crispy/crunchy on the outside, and soft on the inside. Both our breakfast plates came with a side of our choice so we went with eggs, bacon, and hash browns. Everything was delicious and we ended up taking some leftovers home to enjoy the next day. I think we got too excited so we went in a food coma afterwards, and a happy and heavy one at that. I recently visited Stacks On Route 66 Pancake House in Glendora and left feeling very disappointed due to multiple cleanliness and food safety concerns. Although the restaurant displays an "A" health rating, the most recent inspection posted was from 2024. Based on my experience, I believe a more current evaluation is needed. When I was first seated, the chair at my table was visibly dirty. I attempted to move, and the server did assist by switching the chairs, but the original dirty chair was simply placed at another table without being cleaned. The issue itself was never addressed--just moved. One of the most concerning moments was when our food arrived. My guest's plate of toast was brought out in a way where the bottom of her plate--which had likely been sitting on a counter or other surfaces--was placed directly on top of my toast to hold her plate up. This means the underside of a plate was resting directly on food that I was expected to eat. That is extremely unsanitary. Plates should be carried separately or on a tray, not stacked in a way that contaminates someone else's food. The ketchup bottle on our table was sticky and visibly dirty, making it uncomfortable to even touch. My knife also appeared unclean, as if it had already been used. I also observed a staff member take a used to-go box from a table and place it on top of other "clean" boxes. Combined with seeing stacks of to-go containers openly exposed in the dining area, this raised serious concerns about cross-contamination. Additionally, cleaning tools like a broom were left out in a walkway near the steps where customers pass by, which not only looks unprofessional but also creates a potential safety hazard. The food itself did not help the experience--my sausage was excessively oily, and my egg whites were greasy, which made it difficult to enjoy the meal. I asked to speak with a manager and later realized I was speaking directly with the owner. I appreciate the conversation and the 20% discount offered, but it did not reflect the seriousness of the overall experience. I came in excited to treat a guest and left feeling embarrassed and uncomfortable. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and that improvements are made to both cleanliness standards and overall food handling practices. read more

This place has been on my "To try list" for so long and I'm happy to have finally stopped by! This place is right on historic Route 66 and honestly it's my new favorite American style diner. The hashbrowns are a must here! They're potato-y yet still crispy, but not too greasy. The omelette was amazing and the eggs were perfectly cooked. I'm used to veggie heavy omelettes not having enough of the protein but I got the gyro meat in every bite. The country fried steak was covered in delicious gravy yet still crispy. Staff are really friendly and you can see how hard they work. I got the Cali skillet with no broccoli and it was so good & a big portion. My waitress came over promptly and asked if I'd like something to drink, so I ordered a coffee while deciding on my meal. I ended up getting the cinnamon raisin French toast with hash browns and scrambled eggs. That said, the decor and atmosphere were nostalgic and inviting, which I really enjoyed. I actually came here after seeing it on TikTok and decided to stop by after my hike. Would I come back? This is my first visit to Stacks On Route 66. I have fond memories of Flappy Jacks until it became so popular that it wasn't worth the hour and a half wait to be seated. I was surprised to see all the outdoor seating they have created. It's a nice option to be able to choose whether you want to dine in or out. The menu looks much the same as it did when it was Flappy Jacks. However, the food was of average quality and nothing memorable. Hubby mentioned his pork chops were a bit dry and the pancakes were not as fluffy as he remembered and slightly burnt. Polish sausage was okay. But...how much can go wrong on basically sausage and eggs. My friend seemed to enjoy her double cheese omelette. The toast and the pancakes were a bit slow in making their appearance. For starters, the vibe you get from stacks is throwback. Like you're back in the 80's or 90's. Our waiter was polite and made sure we were good. If you're a big coffee person, the coffee isn't very good here. I had to add a few packs of creamer to drown out the burnt taste of the coffee. The 3 pancakes were huge! My cousin was barely able to finish 1 1/2 and he usually eats a lot. The pancakes were soft and delicious. Very good. The eggs and hash browns were a solid 7.3/10. I like my hash browns with salt and pepper and these didn't have any flavor. The eggs were ok. Nothing to rave about. Now for the main dish... the banana nut waffle. It was a 10/10.
