I invariably order the tuna sandwich, which I rarely finish as it is packed with tuna, lettuce & tomato, lightly toasted. The zucchini is delicious and a small usually feeds at least 2 with leftovers. My family often order the chicken club sandwich also a favorite. But lately, over the past ten days I've been consuming pastrami like, well, Joey Chestnut demolishes hot dogs every July 4th. Last night's pastrami sando from Legends marks my fourth similar order in the past eight night's. I paired it with a small fries, which are enough to share. Not gonna bother littering this review w/ extraneous pics of Legends '50s style Americana design- Everyone else snaps plenty of those... So was Legends up to their emulatable name? Mehhhh, quite solid...but not necessarily Hall of Fame caliber. The meat is plentiful, piled 2.5" high on the bread smeared w/ yellow mustard. But the flavor profile of the 'Strami is rather spartan- No palette fireworks that you experience w/ famous pastrami sandos churned out by Brent's Deli (Northridge), Katz (NYC), etc. In the vast ranking of Glendora-adjacent Pastrami Sando sellers, I'd rank em: 1.) EAT Fantastic, Arcadia- Lean, well seasoned, bread pairs perfectly. A flavorful home run! 2.) The Hat, Glendora. This IS their moneymaker, after all... 3.) Legends, Glendora. Looks like I must've ordered the WDT (Wrong Damn Thing)... 4.) Route 66 Subs, Glendora. First time trying this place out and we ordered to go. Youll see the menu gives plenty of options, ranging from breakfast to lunch. Walking in, the first thing you'll note is the decor, bright visuals (signs and art) all around that make it whimsical. Lots of parking to go with the spacious dining area. Cashiers were attentive to who walked in. We did ask if ranch was provided in order to-go order and told it'll cost extra (.55 cents). Which was fine, but then we saw that there was already 4 ranch portion cups included in our bags, once we started eating. So....we didnt need them and could have just been told it was already in there. Minor oversight. On to the food! Its diner food and you get what you expect, something greasy and filling. I got the pastrami melt sandwich which had a nice crunch from the pickles and tangy mustard to go with the salty pastrami. The jalapeño burger was alright. Jalapeño was grilled, split in half, and place on each side. Expected it to either be crunchier or fresh...and more. The chili cheese fries serving was huge and it comes doused with cheese. Can't even see the fries til you dig in. So if you get a large one, you'll have leftovers. My favorite was the neopolitan shake that was made with real icecream and was deliciously smooth. Been going here my whole life , get the tuna sandwich combo on sourdough and upgrade to a rootbeer shake ‍ always filling and the fries are super flavorful and thick. Ranch dressing for fries or ketchup. It's so good. I've been coming here since it opened around 2007? I was surprised I had not reviewed it. Literally everything here is good. The BLTs are packed with bacon. The french fries have great seasoned salt on them. The onion rings are addictive. The taquitos have great shredded beef in them and the tortilla chips are fresh fried. The burgers are more common like you get it at a Greek hamburger stand. My friends tell me the breakfast burritos are worth driving for themselves! Another thing that sets this place apart from pretty much anywhere else is the decor and the high ceilings and the ice cream parlor. There is memorabilia all over the place: embedded into the walls, freestanding on the floor, hanging from the ceilings, and a terrific surf mural on one of the walls. It is really quite spectacular and makes this place special. Glendora is lucky to have it. read more

Approximately 745 on Wednesday evening ordered a gyro. Normally these are great, but when I got home ready to eat it, I found that it was not good at all. The meat was overcooked and extra dry and the toppings were skimpy perhaps half of what they normally give you and all put at the bottom end of the sandwich. Kind of like when you get a burrito and someone wraps it the wrong direction and all the filling is on one end, exactly how this is. So based on tonight's experience, I will not be getting another gyro from legends. read more

Yesterday went with a group of people to have some lunch. I ordered pastrami, chili cheese fries which cost $12. There was plenty of pastrami and cheese but where was the chili. Fries were lukewarm. It had no flavor very bad. Service was okay. I will not be back. Probably worst Legends been to. read more

Walking through the doors of this Glendora Route 66 themed restaurant, is like walking into the 1950s! Old school jukebox, tons of 50s wall decor, vintage Coca Cola signs, with license plates and bottle caps lining the walls! If it's your first time here, try a cookie shake or coffee shake... it will not disappoint! I have a few personal favorite dishes that I've tried over my years of frequenting this establishment. If you're in the mood for breakfast, their mess burrito is great! Try the salsas or yellow peppers with it! If you are craving that typical fast food try their double cheeseburger or their avocado BLT and ask for pickled carrots! If you get fries, I always recommend upgrading them to chili fries. Now, if you are feeling like a lighter meal go for either the grilled chicken salad or the tuna salad. The chicken salad is served with dressing on the side, green peppers, tomato's, pickles, cucumbers, onions, lettuce, hot pita bread and tasty grilled chicken with melty cheese. I posted a photo below of the salad, although mine did have some modifications. The service is walk up, order, and pick a seat. You will be handed a number, and they will deliver it to your table. There are tons of spacious booths, and also tables for larger parties! If you need something like extra silverware, the front counter can get that for you. The soda is free refills for dine in... mix the Cherry Fanta with the Coca-Cola. You will thank me later. As always great food, great service... we will be back! read more

Food is good the service is not as good. They take their sweet time with many worker behind the register but two cooks and the rest talking and laughing. I counted 10 workers having a great time. It must be a nice place to work but very slow in getting your food, it doesn't matter if you're inside or drive thru, same. Funny thing is I keep coming for the food..... This is a classic staple to the community! Customer service is okay. I'd say be careful on drive thru, you may have to scream your order because they have too much background noise going on. The food is 4/5 for me. Lately the burgers have not been tasting a good as it was years ago. Maybe it's the seasoning or that they don't always have the meat well done and sometimes it's medium well. The fries are a bit on the stale side and there are times when they're super fresh and tasty. It can be a hit or miss. It's overall decent but I know it can be better! Before this visit, I think my last time at Legends may have been in high school (and I'm not telling you how long ago that was). I LOVE the ambiance of this place and wish we had more places like it. The nostalgia with the checkered floor, red stools, juke box, and classic burger/fries menu just make me so happy. There is something on the menu for everyone at Legends. On this occasion we shared some zucchini fries, which my 1-year old loved. The regular fries were also super yummy. The one downside if you need to know is just the price point is a little high, even when I was a teenager. Naturally, prices haven't gotten better. I love a good casual high quality spot where I can bring my family. I hope Legends has many years ahead for us to visit when we're in CA. read more

Service is prompt and accommodating as I decide what I want. So much to choose from but some of my faves are the fried zucchinis, they are fresh and not frozen. Their Mediterranean salad is great and serves at least 3 people. Their breakfast burritos are available any time and are a great choice any time of the day. This diner has a 50s and 60s theme with lots of memorabilia from that era. There's a jukebox in the center of the main dining room. I don't think the younger generation knows what a jukebox is and should see this one! The menu is basic comfort food of burgers, sandwiches, chicken strips, and wraps. There is a soda fountain counter where milkshakes, root beer floats, and banana splits are made. The decor and theme is really cute. They went all out on the design and furnishings. If you want to have a birthday party or group gathering, they can accommodate you in a private section of the restaurant or in the spacious outdoor patio. The hubs and I went here with a local from the area. We both ordered "small" salads and shared an appetizer platter with lots of yummy fried goodness. The appetizer platter had mushrooms, zucchini, fries and onion rings! The SMALL salad was so big I could only eat the top! The service was good and the staff was friendly. When we were there the hubs noticed a surf board hanging from the ceiling, it said South Coast on it. That shop is from our neighborhood! The food is good, but the customer service in the drive-thru is consistently horrible. This happens all the time. The staff always seem rushed and don't let you finish talking when placing an order.
