Came here with family after dinner for a little dessert stop and it ended up being one of the highlights of our night! The shop itself is small and cozy, but super cute and full of energy. Even though it was busy when we arrived, the line moved quickly and the staff kept everything running smoothly. The moment we walked in, the smell of fresh waffles and sweet ice cream filled the whole shop and instantly made us excited to order. Since we had all just eaten dinner, we figured we'd play it safe and order the small sizes... big mistake! Their "small" portions are HUGE and definitely big enough to share. This was my first time trying snow ice and I am so happy. There is a kiosk that you can order at. We got their medium black sesame snow ice because we both love black sesame. I was amazed to see how many different flavors they offer. For the medium snow ice, it comes with three toppings. Our dessert came out within 10 minutes. I like how this dessert didn't taste overly sweet. I really liked the real taro chunks that we ordered. It tasted so good! It was pretty busy when we went, but we still were able to grab a seat at a table. The rice balls also tasted so chewy and delicious. It is a small store with a few workers. Salju is my FAVEEEE dessert place in the 626. I love how they take card now. It is so easy to order with their kiosk. I've been going here for years now. We usually get their medium size snow ice which includes three toppings + (any syrup) condensed milk. I've tried a lot of their flavors including their matcha, durian, honeydew, pandan, black sesame - all of their flavors are so good. The must topping you have to get is their rice balls. It is so chewy and has a very nice texture. They have a couple tables inside and outside where you can enjoy your dessert. I loveee salju so muchh. Their snow ice is so soft and fluffy. Parking is pretty limited especially in the evening when they are busy, but there is residential street parking as an option. I usually don't wait long at all and always end up finding a table. Finally tried out Salju! Last time I came with friends it was packed so we went elsewhere but I'm glad that I came back another time to try. I came for an afternoon snack and was able to find parking in their lot and a table inside to sit. I ordered the Lychee Snow with Strawberries and Mochi toppings. In addition to their normal register where you order with an employee, they have a kiosk off to the side. I placed my order through the kiosk which was easy. My snow dessert came out pretty quickly and for a small size, it was plenty in a serving! The snow was light and fluffy and fully of flavor. Salju is in a small plaza with some parking spaces to be shared with the other businesses. Finding parking in their lot during busy times will be difficult but there's also some street parking available. They several tables inside and a restroom for customers. Friendliness of service could be better but the employee was working the entire front (taking orders, making orders) all alone while someone else was taking care of the back. There's a small free parking lot that's shared but street parking is also accessible. Ultimately, we chose a medium snow to share, original milk snow flavor, 3 toppings of strawberries, mangoes, and mochi, along with condensed milk as the syrup. Order didn't take too long to come out, presentation is as you would expect, very cute and most definitely social media worthy. The toppings we chose mixed pretty well with the "snow." The toppings were all fresh but the only complaint we had was that we thought there should be a bit more toppings added for the amount of snow given. The space can get quite packed and because of the nature of the dessert, tables can get quite sticky and messy fast. At peak hours, it can be hard to find a place to sit and eat shaved ice. Even when people leave, the tables usually aren't clean and it's hard to ask staff to clean them when they're so busy. However, the main stars of the shaved ice and desserts themselves are delicious. I loved the milk-based fluff ice and despite the prices seeming high at first glance, they definitely make your money's worth by filling the containers up to the brim. My friend even noted that they gave too much fluff ice and had trouble finishing it! I love how they have a wide variety of toppings that range from crunchy chocolates to chewy mochi to fresh fruits. I once had a crepe here that I actually enjoyed a little better than T-swirl in Temple City because it wasn't as sweet and was slightly more fresh with the fruit selection.
