Such a cute hidden spot on Valley! I stopped by late at night craving something to cool me off and ended up here for dessert. I've been here before, but ever since Salju went viral on TikTok, it's definitely gotten a lot busier compared to past years. That said, the quality is still great. I ordered a regular milk shaved ice with mango and mochi, plus condensed milk drizzled on top. The shaved ice itself and the toppings were delicious, but I'd probably skip the condensed milk next time since it made everything a bit too sweet for my taste. Portion sizes are generous. The small is easily enough to share between two people, and the medium is massive. Finally tried out Salju! Last time I came with friends it was packed so we went elsewhere but I'm glad that I came back another time to try. I came for an afternoon snack and was able to find parking in their lot and a table inside to sit. I ordered the Lychee Snow with Strawberries and Mochi toppings. In addition to their normal register where you order with an employee, they have a kiosk off to the side. I placed my order through the kiosk which was easy. My snow dessert came out pretty quickly and for a small size, it was plenty in a serving! The snow was light and fluffy and fully of flavor. Salju is in a small plaza with some parking spaces to be shared with the other businesses. Finding parking in their lot during busy times will be difficult but there's also some street parking available. They several tables inside and a restroom for customers. Friendliness of service could be better but the employee was working the entire front (taking orders, making orders) all alone while someone else was taking care of the back. My family and I did a weekend trip to California where we tried 3 different Asian shaved ice/bingsu places. While this was our least favorite of the bunch, I still think it tasted great! Very unique flavors were provided, I think we maybe just chose the wrong ones. I got the black sesame which maybe was the wrong choice. A bit too thick and kinda chewy? The traditional injeolmi one was a much better flavor. My family is more used to a Korean style of shaved ice and I believe this is a Taiwanese style, so this also could have been just a lack of knowing this style of shaved ice. The space can get quite packed and because of the nature of the dessert, tables can get quite sticky and messy fast. At peak hours, it can be hard to find a place to sit and eat shaved ice. Even when people leave, the tables usually aren't clean and it's hard to ask staff to clean them when they're so busy. However, the main stars of the shaved ice and desserts themselves are delicious. I loved the milk-based fluff ice and despite the prices seeming high at first glance, they definitely make your money's worth by filling the containers up to the brim. My friend even noted that they gave too much fluff ice and had trouble finishing it! I love how they have a wide variety of toppings that range from crunchy chocolates to chewy mochi to fresh fruits. We decided to get two Small shaved snow ($8.50 each), one with guava flavored snow and the other with Thai tea. Each order also comes with two toppings of your choice so we opted for the almond jelly and mango to top our guava snow, and egg pudding and mochi to top our Thai tea. The snow had a creamy texture and I enjoyed the flavor of the Thai tea snow. The guava snow was pretty disappointing as I didn't get the guava flavor. Additionally, I wish they were more generous with the toppings as it was only enough to last through our first few bites so we had to eat the remaining snow on its own sans toppings. The shop appears small from the exterior, but there is a decent amount of seating indoors, about 4-5 small tables.
