More dirty floors
A J.

I been really excited to try this after seeing it on my tiktok the ice dessert presentation looks delicious and to a certain point is really yummy, but taking all things into account, with pictures, they had a huge line, my experience was they only took orders via electrical iPad where they had the iPod on the right and and order sign on the left when you went to them to order where the sign said order here on the left side they said no not here on the right right side in the iPod, also the iPod malfunction to many customers the two in the front of me and malfunction on myself too. The floors were dirty so dirty, trash bags left out in the open, and the restrooms out off order, honestly not worth it the place is too small but do to cleanliness i will not return please see my pictures.

A little mixed feelings about this place. My first time here. It wasn't as flavorful as I expected. I was expecting more fruit and richer flavors. I'm open to trying it again soon though. Not much sitting space and it gets really crowded. Parking was convenient and service was fast.

My sister and I have been planning to try this business for months now! We finally tried it and it was worth the wait! The place is cute and intimate. Not a lot of items on the menu, making decision making a bit easier. We all got the exact same thing. Mango melon shaved ice. The portions are BIG it's definitely shareable, we honestly should have shared but we decided to each get our own. If I had to describe it, I would say the mango shaved ice was so light and fluffy it was like cotton candy but in an ice cream form. It melted on as soon as it hit your tongue! It wasn't heavy either, I didn't finish the whole thing but I definitely could have. Or was delicious and refreshing. When we asked for tops to get it to go, the cashier also gave up ice packs. I definitely recommend. And I'll definitely be back!

|[ y i p p i e ]| 3.75 stars. Warning: hardish non free parking and limited seating. Cute lil dessert spot, I love that there is a smaller size than the usual huge ones! Light and sweet, though I wished they had more toppings on it. It was sweet enough without the condense milk. Service is quick and efficient, there's an ordering kiosk. |[ v e r d i c t ]| Cute and gets the job done, opens late. Reasonably priced for the portion ($8ish for a single which we shared between 2 people) :3

Such a great spot that's totally worth the hype! The space itself is very small and was crowded when we went, but everything came out really fast. We tried the strawberry, mango melon, oreo tiramisu, and seasonal strawberry matcha. The single servings were perfect, and I would definitely be able to finish one by myself. I loved all the flavors, but the oreo tiramisu was my favorite. Would definitely come back.

UPDATED: It took 1 hour and 20 minutes to get shaved ice. We drove here specifically to try this place as kiddo and hubby wanted shaved ice. We arrived to a packed cafe but we still got in line to order something from a kiosk as the line wasn't bad. While the line was short the line didn't move very fast at all. All the tables were full but no one except one table was eating any shaved ice. While we waited to order an announcement came over the PA not to order extra fruit. Then a few minutes later, they announced that they were cutting off orders then another 10 minutes they shut down orders until 4pm. I'm an hour in and I still do not have any shaved iced. I don't care how popular or viral a place gets. When you have two people in the back and backed up orders that you can't fill, you simply don't know the operations portion of your business. You could pay two, three more kids $15 bucks and rake in more profits. Instead you have a bunch of pissed off people. Below is a picture of the shaved ice of the only people eating in the full cafe when I walked in. I wonder if we will ever get ours?

So we came today from an instagram post and so did almost everyone else here. Needless to say they were not prepared at all!! There was 1 worker all by herself and she tried her best. However we all waited well over an hour for shaved ice. She had to shut down orders because she couldn't keep up on a hot, busy Saturday!! We were told 20 min wait time but over an hour later, we finally got our order. It wasn't even in order since the lady behind us who I helped place the order got hers before all of us. 2 girls order 38&39 was waiting before us how why did 44 get hers before all of us. Who knows. She tried her best but needed help!! Once the owner finally showed up, they opened back up for orders even though they still haven't caught up??!?!! Who knows. As for the actual mango single, it was very refreshing and not too sweet at all! Great treat on a hot day. The food itself is probably a 4. However service and then having to pay extra for more parking since they took soo long was a bit much. We drive all the way from the OC so we had to be patient. Worth a try if you can go when there is no crowds!!

Gotta satisfy my girl's sweet tooth, so I caved and tried it too since it's in old town. First thing I noticed is that it's a smaller spot, so there wasn't too much seating available especially since it's after dinner time. I feel like they give a really good amount. We shared the smaller sized shaved ice and it was a perfect amount. Service was quick on the kiosk and it's bright inside. Thought they could use some decorations though. Melon shaved ice, 8/10: Refreshing and not too sweet. Probably what they were going for. They give a good amount of melon and it was sweet. Pleasantly surprised at how juicy the fruit was too.

I came with a friend to check this location out and I was pleasantly surprised: it's as good as the Koreatown location. The have a promo in which you get one large shaved ice (bingsu) with two drinks for just 26 dollars. It's totally worth it. Both drinks (Injeolmi Latte and Strawberry Milk) were great but the strawberry milk was better in my opinion. The whole place was quite busy and there was a line but we still got dispatched quickly and in a prompt manner.

The perfect light dessert after dinner or on a hot day. It's not too sweet or dense. I love how light and airy but flavor the shaved ice is. The flavor was exactly what was described. The "single" serving was honestly perfect for two people to share.

Strawberry Shaved Ice

my mom and I got the strawberry shaved ice, which was honestly big enough for 3 people haha! It was a stacked strawberry ice mound with plenty of semi-frozen strawberries and a little cup of milk drizzle which has a thin consistency to pour on top. You order through a touch screen and sit down, I'd recommend grabbing a seat as soon as you can because tables fill up fast + bring a layer cause you tend to feel colder when eating frozen dessert

Mango Melon Shaved Ice and Strawberry Shaved Ice with banana cream
Gracie P.

My family tried 3 different Asian shaved ice/bingsu places while visiting California and this was my 2nd favorite but it was the rest of my family's #1 pick. It was so refreshing and the texture was amazing. We got the honeydew mango flavor and the flavor of the month (strawberry base with banana cream). Both were amazing, but my personal favorite was the mango with honeydew. While it has a more traditional Korean texture of bingsu, I've never had one that has flaky layers the way this one does. The reason this wasn't my #1 pick was due to the strawberry flavor feeling a bit artificial at times. The location was also very busy with a long line and small number of tables so be prepared to stand or order to go if you're not lucky enough to get a table. Overall I would absolutely come back.

Regular Oreo Tiramisu

My sis-in-law recommended grabbing Korean bingsu from Oakobing after a filling Korean dinner at Sun Nong Dan in the SGV. I was looking forward to Oakobing as my SIL said their original location is in Koreatown. Parking seems to be a hassle here; you'd either have to pay an arm and a leg or find a free, but distant parking spot and walk to Oakobing. SIL dropped us off in front of the shop, so that made the experience more pleasant. She ended up parking next to the Pasadena City Hall (yes, the Pawnee City Hall from "Parks and Rec!"). The ordering process and menu itself are pretty simple--small menu at a self-service kiosk. My husband ordered three regular-sized bingsu flavors for six adults and three kids--mango melon, Oreo tiramisu, and injeolmi. My other SIL, the mom of the three kids was hoping for strawberry bingsu instead of mango melon. I didn't realize the melon bingsu was flavored with mango until I reviewed the menu while writing this review. Because we had our bingsu after dinner, most of our group had the tiramisu without the side of coffee, though my husband and I enjoyed the coffee taste. The splash of coffee didn't keep us up at night. The family's favorite was injeolmi with a side of red bean. All bingsu came with a mochi topping as well. I liked that all bingsu was evenly covered with flavor; not a single bite of plain ice as I'd find in some bingsu places in Hawaii! So grateful we can have that Koreatown experience without leaving the 626 by way of Sun Nong Dan and Oakobing!

Super cool spot, a bit squished inside so to go orders would be just as good. Somewhat pricey but the matcha ice cream tastes good.

I'm hoping that parking here at the Pasadena location is much easier than anywhere in K-Town...is it?

Old town pasadena has 3 free 90 minute parking lots ($2/hour after and there is a set amount past a certain time at night) on Green Street, De Lacey Avenue, and Raymond Avenue. The Raymond parking lot is closest to oakobing.

There are three small eateries and a nail salon located here. An adequate parking lot is located in front of these stores. Upon entering tea spots I was greeted by a friendly hello. I walked to the counter and asked questions about the types of food that they had available. The staff described a variety of selections. They are definitely more than just tea and smoothies. They have what they call 'snacks' on a large menu. These are more than snacks, they are full meals. I decided on some Ramen and Potstickers. I was impressed that they asked me exactly how I wanted things prepared. Spice levels were a prime consideration, so I decided on medium spicy. As I waited on my order, I looked at their beverage menu that was filled with different Boba coffees, teas and slushies. There are also quite a number of items on the menu that I want to try with different styles of preparation. After about 10 minutes my food was ready and I was out the door and on my way home. They do have areas inside this location to dine inside. When I unpacked my food at home, I was pleased to see how carefully it had been put together. They had everything individually wrapped. I was eager to try the potstickers first. The Pork Potstickers were delicious. Great flavor and moist with a crisp outside edge. The Japanese Miso Ramen wes filled with flavor and spice. I added some Sriracha and Soy Sauce to complete my preference. I look forward to coming back and enjoying some different beverages and flavors from the kitchen.

Recently, I got an email saying they now have new sizzling plates, and I couldn't wait to try them. They offer four different sizzling plates, and I went with the beef fried noodles. Honestly, it's not the best--the flavor is a bit off, but I was really hungry so I ate about half. It's okay after adding some Sriracha, but I wouldn't order it again. The sizzling plate comes with a tea, and I got an oolong tea with 50% sweetness. It was just okay. Parking can be challenging at times, and the spaces are pretty narrow.

When you come in, there is a sign that tells you to order before being seated. My sister and her bf had yet to arrive so I placed a sizeable order for the 4 of us. Luckily, they were there (waiting in the car) so I told them to walk over so we can be seated. I ordered 2 orders of chiayi chicken (1with white rice and 1 with brown rice), 2 orders of thousand layer pancake (1 with egg and 1 with egg and cheese), shrimp wonton, dance dan noodles, wonton noodle soup, hakka mochi and forbidden rice pudding. For drinks we had a few of the shaken iced green teas and 1 taro milk tea (my sister said it didnt taste like taro) Everything was great. I was surprised my sister's bf liked the food. The chiayi chicken was good with a bit of the chili sauce (sambal). The thousand layer pancake was good if you dip it in the black vinegar (mixed with chili oil and a little soy sauce). The shrimp wonton were surprisingly light and tasty. The dan dan noodles was balanced my medium thin sliced cucumber. Everything was portioned very small so you can try everything.we didnt get additional sides because were getting full. The desserts was what I was looking forward to and it did not disappoint. The hakka mochi reminded me of the soy pudding stalls in singapore that had mochi balls filled with a black sesame paste and peanut paste inside. This is what the hakka mochi was but in dry soft chewy form with black sesame and peanut grains to top it off. For my sister, it reminded her of the filipino dessert pichi pichi. The forbidden rice pudding reminded me of a soupy version of the filipino dessert biko. It had chunks of sweet potatoes and tapioca. Also very good but my bias is the hakka mochi. The ambiance was bright, bustling and inviting. Very small tables perfect for a quick bite. Highly recommend if you want a tapas style lunch that doesn't break the bank.
