This review is not for the location but the ice cream itself. We had their fantastic lavashak ice cream at the 2nd annual smorgasjoon event, also known as smorgasburg. The ice cream was creamy and delicious and the lavashak gave it a fantastic kick of sour that you get from a sour fruit roll. I will definitely venture out to try more of their flavors! I definitely recommend giving them a try!
One of the best scoops of Ice Cream I've had in a long time! I've had Kinrose Creamery on my list for a minute and was so happy after my wife and I got to try a scoop. They are located in Mills Alley in Pasadena just look for the bright red sign and signage promoting some flavors. We came by after having dinner. The staff greeted us as we walked in. It was empty when we initially arrived then more customers filtered in shortly after. Staff allowed to sample their unique flavor options. **To note, they offer a few vegan flavors for those with dietary restrictions**. Always a huge plus and positive! The flavors are middle eastern inspired and the details are all listed. My wife and I sampled 2 flavors and we both enjoyed our selections. The flavors are memorable. We happily decided on the Sesame Halve (vegan) & Pistachio Konafa with Chocolate Shell (+$1.00) for myself. The presentation is one of a kind! The topping with the tiny little rose is a nice aesthetic and definitely their trademark. The location offers retro and colorful style seating for 10+ customers if I had to guess . Patio seats are also offered outside. Also, OG Pac-Man arcades are available inside. My wife loved her Sesame Halva and my Pistachio Konafa with Chocolate Shell totally reminded me of a Dubai Chocolate type of vibe with each bite! My husband and I stopped by here on Monday night after eating at Edwin Mills. My husband had this spot bookmarked a while ago and didn't realize they were neighboring businesses. When we arrived, we were the only two there for a few minutes until more people came. We were greeted right away. We walked down a ramp that led us to their selections. It's a decent-sized shop with a few tables. Each table had a rose in a vase attached via velcro so you don't have to worry about tipping them over. The shop is also nicely decorated with wall art. It's been a few days since then and we can't stop thinking about coming back. They serve unique Middle-Eastern flavored ice cream. I ordered the Sesame Halva which is their vegan ice cream made of Halva ice cream with sesame & coconut. OMG, I've never tasted anything like this before. I love anything that has a sesame profile. If you like that nutty, sweet, and earthy flavor this one is for you. I could taste the coconut, but it wasn't overpowering. There were also little chunks of halva in there that added a slight bit of sweetness. The texture was similar to cookie dough, but softer. Aside from the taste, I loved the simple presentation of the small rose on top of the scoop. It made it look elegant. As you can tell, I am definitely coming back and highly recommend stopping by.
I love a little middle eastern ice cream action! They encourage you to sample as many of the flavors as you'd like which is really nice. They may even add the toppings on your sample too so you get the whole experience. Delicious flavors to choose from. Seating is limited, but it's located in a prime walking location anyways, so it doesn't matter all that much. If there is a line, it is still worth the wait.
Wow, I found Kinrose via Yelp. I wanted to try a unique local ice cream spot and saw the floss rose ice cream cup and was very curious. We got the Walnut Baklava and Sour Cherry & Fairy floss (pashmak).. both were delicious! I love how my sour cherry complimented the fairy floss so much and I love eating the floss, which I believe is the sweet cream Iranian candy floss. My bf really liked the Walnut Baklava, it was a bit too sweet for my taste, but it was full of flavor. They also encourage you to taste the flavor before committing to buying but I knew what I wanted and was so happy with my choice. Def would recommend and would def come back if I'm in the area.
The flavors are unlike anything else and it takes me ages to decide on my 1-2 scoops because I want them all. Two of my favorites are probably the Saffron Pistachio Rose and Fig and Olive. Quite hard to get seating on a Friday evening, as would be expected, but it's a nice establishment to chill out in if you manage to get a table.

Finally Checked This Spot Off My Yelp List -- Worth the Wait! Finally got to try KINROSE, which has been sitting on my Yelp list for over a year now -- and let me tell you, it did not disappoint! First things first, this place is definitely hidden in an alleyway, so make sure you have your Google Maps ready or you might walk right past it like we almost did. The moment I saw their Fairy Floss Sour Cherry, I was completely mesmerized -- so you already know I had to order it. This flavor is made with sour cherries and sweet cream dressed in Iranian candy floss, topped with pistachio dust, and it was hands-down my absolute favorite of the night. Singles are $8 and duos are $10.50, which is pretty reasonable considering how unique the flavors are. Fairy Floss Sour Cherry -- 9.2/10 The sour cherry had that perfect balance of sweet with a subtle tang, and the fairy floss texture added such a fun, delicate touch. The flavors paired beautifully together -- definitely the star of the night for me. Hubby ordered the duo, and I helped pick the flavors (of course ): Walnut Baklava -- 8/10 This one had a brown sugar and spiced walnut base topped with baked baklava bits. The walnut flavor was subtle, and I appreciated that it wasn't overly sweet. The baklava topping added a nice texture without being too heavy. Saffron Pistachio Rose -- 7/10 A delicate flavor made with pure Iranian saffron ice cream, rosebud garnish, and crunchy pistachio bits. Quick tip -- don't be like me and think the rosebud decoration is edible... because it's not lol. The flavor was interesting, but the saffron was very light, so it didn't stand out as much as I expected. This ended up being my least favorite of the three. Since there were so many unique flavors, the staff kindly let us sample a few others -- and I really appreciated that because it made choosing even harder! I also got to try: * Fig & Olive * Ahwa Qahveh Date (Creamy Coffee) * Sheer Moz Brulee * Konafa * Labna Honeycomb There are honestly so many flavors to explore, which just means we'll definitely be back. The servers were incredibly sweet and patient with us while we sampled, and even though they were busy, the service was still very fast and efficient. You can definitely tell this is a local favorite spot for a late-night sweet treat. Between the creative flavors, friendly service, and fun experience, this place easily makes it into my Top 5 ice cream spots. Kinrose located in the alleyway is a hidden gem. The staff is always friendly and emphasizes that you can literally sample as much as you want. With the flavors being so new to me, I truly appreciate that because not all ice cream shops are serviceable like that. My go to flavor has to be the Walnut Baklava with brown sugar. The ice cream is flavorful and creamy and they're very generous with the topping. The shop has plenty tables and seating indoors along with 2-3 tables outdoors. The only small complaint I have is the table decorations are permanently in the middle of the table haha but that doesn't take away from giving them 5 stars.
I went here yesterday afternoon. It's a hole in the wall, found it in an alley. Voices echo when people talk. I love the potted plants, makes it greener. I like the floor to ceiling windows. The employee asked us if we wanted to try the flavors. I chose the walnut baklava. A rose is on each table. Music plays through the speaker. I chose the single walnut baklava in the end. It had a perfect amount of walnut and baklava pieces or crumbs. A flower bud was placed on top to enhance the presentation which I appreciated. I ended up being full after eating it.
Kinrose Creamery is a cute little ice cream shop in Pasadena located on a small alley way. This ice cream shop offers very unique flavors that surprisingly mix well and actually tastes delicious. I would have to say the flavors are more of an acquired taste but nonetheless very good and worth trying!
I've never had Persian ice cream before but WOW was I impressed!! The employees were super friendly and let me sample as many flavors as I wanted. Everything I tried was super unique and unlike any ice cream I've tried before. I ended up ordering a scoop of the sour cherry and fairy floss flavor. I'm usually not a fan of cherry flavored things because the taste is too artificial for me but this ice cream tasted like real cherries and was sooo delicious! 10/10 would recommend. The store itself is super cute and is in one of the alley ways in Old Town. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. It also has a few old school arcade games, like Pac-Man, which is fun! Overall, I'd highly recommend Kinrose.
Absolutely love coming here! This time I got the Sour Cherry & Fairy Floss and the Pistachio Kanafa with Chocolate Shell, and both totally delivered. The sour cherry flavor was perfectly balanced -- not overly tart at all. It had this subtle yogurt-like creaminess that paired so well with the sweetness of the fairy floss. Such a fun combo without being overpowering and textures are amazing! The pistachio kanafa was just as impressive -- super nutty, rich, and really solid in flavor. I prefer the pistachio alone without chocolate but adding chocolate gave a fun texture difference. On top of the amazing flavors, they offer samples (including toppings!), which makes it even more fun to try new things. And there's 2 free Pac-Man arcade machines you can play while you're there -- such a cool bonus. Overall, I love it here and will definitely keep coming back!

I've seen this business on my socials & had it saved for a potential visit. It was everything I expected it to be. I drove all the way from Long Beach to visit my discount hobby mechanic Bobby; and yes it was worth the one hour drive. One because I had an amazing ice cream and two; I by passed a tune up at Fletcher Jones Toyota of Carson who for some reason didn't honor the previous warranty, because "Fletcher-Jones is now the new owner of the Carson location." In a sense, I am thankful for the grifting, because it lead me here. If you're indecisive Kinrose Creamery does offer samples. I ended up ordering two scoops of Saffron Pistachio Rose, & Orange Flower Pistachio. I definitely savored this unique frozen dessert in this unforgivable heat. Loved my choices and I will be coming back through the summer. The customer service is excellent, the establishment is very clean, & nicely decorated as well. It appears they have local art on the walls, and it's also well air conditioned. Additional information: parking is a bit of a hassle in this area. I ended up paying for a one day parking pass, which is ten bucks and having to walk about two blocks. I did not mind the short stroll but do recommend to look up neighboring businesses to get the best out of the one day pass. There's a pottery painting workshop near by, a spa, furniture shops, and also an amazing tea place adjacently across the street. read more
Stopped by this location because they were doing a collab for a perfume line. I had the pleasure to try their "true loves cake" flavor that has pieces of cake, rose and pistachios in it. I must say the iced cream was too busy for me and didn't need much added as the base ice cream flavor was good. I noticed they had a lot of great flavors and some popular ones I'm excited to try next go round. The place is small with few seats inside but they had additional seating outside. Staff were friendly and I loved the vibe. You do have to pay for parking, but there's aplenty of spaces to park. Cannot wait to be in Pasadena again to try this place again. read more
I had no idea that this place has middle Eastern roots, more specifically Egyptian flavors. I've spent a lot of time in Egypt myself and seeing that the menu has flavors that you do not get to try anywhere else unless you were in Egypt definitely makes this place really special--and more so as ice cream! I was absolutely blown away with what we picked, they nail the nuanced flavors--very rich and creamy and not too heavy on the stomach, more so refreshing. I would encourage anyone not to be afraid to pick something they've never had and sample flavors you have no clue about, they went above and beyond to sample the flavors as they would be if we ordered them, including the toppings. My friend was absolutely blown away and texted his wife that he needs to bring her here, which I myself definitely plan on returning as well. I didn't realize how unidimensional most ice creams I have had are until I visited Kinrose. Each bite contains layers--whether it be floral, spicy, sweet, or sour. The toppings add additional texture and notes, perhaps best exemplified by their bestselling Walnut Baklava, with spiced baklava bits sitting atop a brown sugar ice cream base or their IG-friendly Sour Cherry & Fairy Floss, which is beautifully decorated with a cotton candy-esque web. I didn't have the time or stomach space to try all the flavors so I went with the Labneh Honeycomb which was tart, refreshing, and perfectly creamy. It's been hours since we had the ice creams but my husband and I are still talking about it! We cannot wait to go back (and for their new location to open up in Encino)! read more
Kinrose Creamery crossed my path a few weeks ago. I thought its biz name was intriguing. I was in the Old Town Pasadena area one night and could not resist, but to drop by. So glad I did! Parking garage is nearby. Street parking may be limited. It's located in an alley way. Upon entry, my first impression was... what is this place? Interior setup is somewhat retro... there is a rail walkway or you walk pass through the small tables and chairs to get to the start of the line. There are a couple Pac-Man arcade games available for play. Some inside seating with very limited outside seating. There is one all gender restroom for customer use only. My first time trying Mediterranean and Egyptian inspired ice cream. Their signature is the rose. There were about 9+ flavors with interesting names. They offer free samples on any flavors. I tried 3 samples... Saffron Pistachio Rose, Sour Cherry and Fairy Floss, Ahwa + Qahveh Date. They all tasted very unique. I was hoping to like the Saffron Pistachio Rose, but the rose flavor didn't fly. I love to look at a rose and smell it, but tasting it is on a whole different level. Ahwa + Qahveh Date had a strong coffee flavor to it... I am not a coffee drinker so it was a pass. Now the flavor that took me to an elevated level was the Sour Cherry and Fairy Floss. I got one single scoop of it in a cup. I really enjoyed it very much. Something about sour, cherry, and floss combined made it SO GOOD! Though I should have known better than to taste the edible rose petal that was on top of the fairy floss LOL. I'll skip the rose petal next time. I'll sure to be back to try their other unique ice cream flavors. Staff weren't the smiliest, but were still cordial. Service was quick. Pricing was reasonable. Single scoop for $7.50 or Duo scoop for $9.50 includes toppings... add a cone for $0.50. Menu is very simple... ice cream in a cone or cup. Btw, they are a cashless facility. Very yummy middle eastern flavors! At a shop down Mills Alley. We tried the halva and the konafa, and went with the konafa! Very delicious with the phyllo dough crunchies on it, as well as a couple of beautiful edible rose blooms. Reminds of Booza I've had in Berkeley! Careful, if you don't know what's hiding in this alleyway in Pasadena... you might just miss some of the best ice cream in SoCal. This Persian ice cream joint has a blend of unique flavors that blend sweet and savory to fruity and nutty combinations. The staff were very friendly and patient as I tried several samples before settling on the two flavors I craved. I went with the Lavashak (pomegranate and tamarind) and the Teen o Zeytoon (fig and olive). There are plenty of tables inside and out that one could sit at. read more

Kinrose Creamery, the first Middle Eastern ice cream place in Pasadena! I have gotten this place 3 times now, and the ice cream never disappoints! The space is modern and fun, with Pacman vintage arcade machines and cute furniture adoring the shop. The staff are friendly and let you taste samples before you purchase. (They even will make the sample A1 quality, such as ensuring you get fairy floss with the sour cherry ice cream which is a very kind touch! One thing my partner and I always notice is how rich, unique, and bright all of the flavors are. We have tried the flavors: - Pistachio Konafa with Chocolate Shell -Single Fig & Olive -Ahwa Quevah Date -Sour Cherry & Fairy Floss -Walnut Baklava (All have been tasty! ) We will definitely eat the rest of our way through the menu! read more
I came here because of Omid's I.G. Brought my Persian husband with - we both agreed that this place truly lives up to the hype. The ice cream is sooooo delicious and rich - imo way better than "Saffron & Rose" in Westwood or even Mashti Malones. This place blows those two places out of the water. My husband's favorite topping was the lavashak sauce. Mine was the creme brûlée topping! The cherry on top is the service is also outstanding - friendly and generous. We loved sampling the various ice cream flavors (banana, rice & milk, labneh honey...yum). Ambience was hip and clean. Parking was a bit of a hassle but it always is in this part of Pasadena (public parking or scarce street parking). read more

Decent spot for ice cream in Pasadena - good mix of flavors and nice service. Space was clean, but a bit small. They have tables and going after dinner on a weekday, it was quite empty, but I'd imagine it gets busy on weekends. I loved the presentation and thought everything was solid. A bit pricy, but that's a given for a more artisinal spot. Overall, would be happy to come back to try more flavors! read more

Kinrose Creamery is one of the best ice cream shops in Old Town Pasadena, which says something since there's about 5-6 of them within the 3 blocks of ceah other! What really makes Kinrose unique is their flavor selection. Unlike most ice cream and Gelato, Kinrose specializes in unique Persian-inspired flavors, from Saffron Pistachio Rose to Fig and Olive. The ice cream are not too heavy either, with the right amount of texture and softness. I can't recommend this place enough, and to those I've taken there, they always leave satisfied! read more
This place is definitely a must try in old town Pasadena! If you like dragon whisker candy then you'd like their fairy floss!!! I ordered the saffron pistachio ice cream and omg the flavor is not too sweet, I could taste the saffron and the pistachio blended in with the creaminess. Nothing tasted artificial with food coloring. Then the fairy floss added a bit more sweetness and unique texture to the whole thing. Absolutely phenomenal! It's a cute little ice cream shop. The service is great and you can also sample the ice cream. read more

5/5 Stars for the ice cream! I really enjoyed the flavors especially the Olive & Fig ice cream. It has flakes of salt that are a great addition to the creamy and olive oil drizzle. The saffron pistachio was also good! Loved both flavors! 4/5 Stars for service! The guy in the front let my wife and I try as much flavors as we wanted and was kind and patient while we tried their unique flavors. 4/5 Stars for the ambience and location. I think it's a really fun place hidden in an alley way. If you walk down at night eatting the ice cream you might hit the live jazz musicians at a local restaurant or other fun places in the alley. The inside of the store look was ok but the outside location was a nice spot to hang out. Overall 4.5 stars! Choose a restaurant near by or in that alley and walk with your friends or a date to this location afterwards! It's definitely a nice treat in the Pasadena area. read more
Loved the unique flavors here! It was my first time trying Middle Eastern-style ice cream, and it was such a fun change of pace. The service was friendly and they even offered samples, which was super helpful. Parking is street or in nearby garages. I tried the Ahwa and Pistachio Konafa with chocolate shell (an extra dollar for this one), and both were really delicious. The ice cream is so cute with toppings on top, and the interior is charming as well. Definitely would come back to try more flavors! read more
Wow, this middle eastern style ice cream was amazing. The flavors were all so unique and had complimentary toppings that make it stand out so much from other places. The pistachio saffron and the tamarind duo were for me. But they give you a proper sample with the topping so you get the full flavor profile of the ice cream you're getting. they offer duo scoops if you can't make up your mind. The tamarind comes with this sour drizzle and sour tamarind belt. SO good. But you can't go wrong with every flavor with their matching topping because everything I tried was amazing. The service was kind and patient, The inside is decorated so nicely and spacious, I highly recommend trying this spot out. read more

Oh my goodness. Amazing flavors! Very different from your average ice cream parlor. I'm definitely coming back and trying all of the flavors next time! Especially the banana milk one with the chocolate shell that the employee recommended! We would definitely come back here again! read more
Kinrose Creamery is a must try ice cream spot serving up some unique Middle Eastern inspired flavors. This spot is located in Old Town Pasadena where street parking will be your best bet. Inside, they have a welcoming and colorful interior with a good amount of seating. For their menu, they have an array of different Middle Eastern inspired flavors that are typically not found at other spots. Wifey and I ended up getting a duo scoop of the Walnut Baklava and Sheer Moz Brulee and they paired so nicely together. Overall, this spot definitely stands out with its flavor options and ice cream quality. All of the staff here are very friendly and welcoming. If you are an ice cream connoisseur or just looking for a nice sweet treat, this spot should be at the top of your list to try! read more
This place used to be Sul&Beans and another dessert shop before that when I used to come years ago. What they have now is truly a gem. I tried a few flavors- fig and olive, sesame coconut (forgot the exact name), and another one I forgot. The fig and olive was all I needed, with the subtle sweetness and earthiness of the fig mixed with the cream. they topped it off with olive oil which tastes better mixed in. I also got the sesame coconut which tasted like a dessert I tried before. The coconut milk does make it less creamy, however, as someone who's tried to freeze coconut milk before knows. The garnishes also added another dimension to it. I just wish they sold the fig flavor in pints but unfortunately their pint selections are limited. The girl serving me was also courteous and welcoming. read more

I've had this place bookmarked for a while and finally got a chance to try it! Loved the orange flower pistachio with added fairy floss. Along with being aesthetically pleasing, the ice cream itself was delicious. It wasn't too sweet, which I appreciated! Service was great. The man working there was really patient and offered samples! Would come back to try other flavors. read more
