New Filipino Ice Cream shop in the Glendale area that's worth checking out! I visited this ice cream spot on opening day and they had a buy one get one free scoop deal so my friends and I shared a variety of flavors! Here's what we tried: -Buko Pandan: The flavor was on point in this one! I loved the coconut and pandan flavors. -Mais con Queso: The flavor was also on point! I was surprised at how good this one was. Creamy and corny flavors that reminds me of the ice cream in the Philippines. Warning that this is pretty strong in corn flavor. -Milo Crunch: Chocolaty and crunchy. Indulgent and yummy. -Louisiana Banana: Reminds me of desserts Filipino aunties make. Surprisingly good and I liked the banana flavor. -Calamansi Creamsicle: Tart and creamy. -Turon: Flavor was on point, but I didn't like the texture. Would recommend crunchier spring roll bits. -Halo-Halo: This one tasted like a cake cone to me. Not my most favorite flavor. All the ice cream was generally creamy and delicious. They did melt pretty quick though. Around $6 per scoop I believe. The service here was pretty good and the staff were nice. They also explained the flavors to my friends. There's tables and seating, but outdoors only. They also have complimentary water cups which is nice. For the bathroom, it's behind the restaurant. For parking, there's ample street parking nearby.

Solid spot in the La Crescenta/Glendale area! Loved the Filipino-inspired flavor options. We got the flight and the split so we could try 6 half scoops, and it was super fun tasting everything. We tried the white coffee, ube, halo halo, calamansi creamsicle, mais con queso (corn flavor), and Milo crunch -- all were solid. Also loved sampling flavors like Turon and Louisiana banana! Only reason I'm not giving it a full 5/5 is because I usually gravitate more toward fruity/sorbet-style flavors, but I'd definitely recommend this place if you're into rich, creative flavors! Service was great. Parked in the lot.

This ice cream made me feel like I was back in my homeland of the Phillippines. So much authentic Filipino flavor options such as halo-halo, buko pandan, turon, classic ube, and milo crunch. I scooped up some ube and milo crunch, and it was absolutely delicious. Other ube ice creams I've tried around Glendale, are not as authentic as the one at Perlas. They did an amazing job at putting Filipino flavors into ice cream. Also, the ambiance, the cute seating area, and the decorations, even the menu, are all so aesthetically pleasing. Right after trying this place with my friends, I immediately texted my Filipino family to come. I definitely recommend!

Earlier this year, my friend & I checked-out Perlas Ice Cream for the first time. It was a warm Saturday afternoon, so everyone had the same idea to get ice cream! We found street parking in the nearby residential area and arrived at around 2:30pm. There was a line out-of-the-door with only two staff members working, so we waited about 10 to 20 minutes to order. Although there was a queue, the service and overall experience were great. The staff member was generous with samples and offered to keep our pints in the freezer while we enjoyed our ice cream in the shop. The shop's small, but homey with nostalgic decor and a sunlit indoor seating area. There were a few seats outside of the shop as well. My friend & I shared a flight of four flavors ($14). My faves were the Mais Con Queso (creamy & light with a good amount of corn pieces) and Calamansi Creamsicle (like a fizzy citrus drink and fun contrast to the other flavors). As mentioned, we did buy pints ($16/each) to take home; I chose a pint of the Buko Pandan, which had a pretty green color, light pandan flavor, and specks of coconut. We'd definitely return to Perlas, if we're in the area!

Perlas is a Filipino-owned ice cream shop with some amazing Filipino-inspired flavors on their menu. To get here, they have a small parking lot or street parking all around the area. Inside, they have a couple booths for seating and then some additional tables outside as well. Wifey ended up getting a scoop of the Mais Con Queso and I opted for the Calamansi Creamsicle. We really enjoyed the richness and flavor profiles of our orders. All of the staff here are very friendly and welcoming. Definitely stop by to support and try out some of their awesome Filipino-inspired flavors!

Super solid ice cream place with interesting and tasty filipino flavors! My party tried strawberry chili, calamansi creamsicle, ube, white coffee, guava cheesecake, and black sesame, and they were all so good it was hard to choose. Even my Chinese mom who doesn't like most desserts loved all the ones she tried. Staff is very nice and was happy to let us sample multiple flavors. Indoor space is cozy and bright, and if the seating inside is filled, there is plenty of shaded space on the cute patio outside. Also a lot of free parking available. If you come on a Sunday, you can find the Montrose farmer's market just down the street.

Bummer - the ice cream was just OK. Popping all over my algorithm, I was curious to try out the newest Filipino ice cream shop that had opened up. We bought two flights to try eight flavors, and I found only three decent: Black Sesame, Peach Mango Graham & Calamansi Creamsicle. The black sesame had a solid nutty flavor and wasn't overly sweet. The peach mango graham had good texture, and the flavor wasn't subtle. The calamansi creamsicle was tangy. We tried the usual Filipino flavors like Ube, Buko Pandan, & Mais con Queso. The flavors were flat. The Red Bean and Pineapple Cake was overly sweet. For two flights, it costs $37.13, including tax and tip. No notes on the service, it was good. The place is clean. Glad we tried them once! Best of luck Perlas!

I chose calamansi creamsicle for the flavor and single for the size. The taste reminds me of lemon but it's calamansi. It's sour but not overpowering. I like how pirouline or something similar is included to balance out the creaminess of the ice cream. It doesn't seem like there are tables inside, a bunch of chairs are though. A bunch of customers are grouped together in the corner where there's a window facing the front. Filipino music and pop music plays through the speaker(s). A small menu is on the counter. There are decorations on the walls, a menu is on the wall. It's well lit inside. One plant is placed on the counter. Several pink tables and chairs are outside the restaurant. My mom asked the employee for the percentage of cacao in the tsokolate ice cream but the employee didn't know. There's only one register. I like how the spoons are bpi compostable. The cups are made of paper I think, which is good for the environment.

Love this spot in the neighborhood! It took over the space that was sugarbird scones! They have seating indoors and outdoors and the ice cream flavors are amazing! My kids loved the Milo crunch and I loved the buko pandan! Family owned and operated

Cutest little ice cream shop with the best customer service! First timers and server let us sample as many flavors as we wanted!!! I literally sampled every flavor and i actually picked the first and the last flavors I sampled. Mine was mais and sesame. That sesame brought me back to my childhood! I gotta come back cuz the server said they change their flavors often! I can only come back after walking the rose bowl loop! Cancels each other out, right?

I hope this ice cream shop blows up. All the flavors are so unique and you can tell how much love/intentionality goes into each flavor! I sampled the peach mango graham, buko pandan, and Louisiana banana. It was rly hard to choose a flavor because they were all so good! I opted for the peach mango graham which had a hint of mango within the cream base, little chunks of peach, and specks of graham crackers. (Tho I do wish the mango flavor was a little stronger). The inside is very cozy and inviting and there are plenty of tables outside as well. This is a family owned shop, and the owners are so kind!

An order of their flight. Four scoops of different flavors. Ube, Black Sesame, and two other flavors.

What a nice and cozy place to go to for good ice cream. They also have chairs and tables just outside the store front.

So glad I finally got to stop by and check out Perlas Ice Cream. It was absolutely delicious. They let you try as many flavors as you'd like. I went with a split scoop of the Mais Con Queso (corn and cheese) and Buko Pandan. My favorite of the two was hands down the Mais Con Queso. if you like corn flavored things like corn cookies or cereal milk, you're going to love this flavor. Really friendly staff, and some limited but very cute and comfortable seating inside.

I try to eat healthy, so having ice cream isn't something I do often, but after my first sample I knew I wouldn't be able to hold back. I ordered a double scoop and got one of the Orange Creamsicle and one of Nut Your Average Scoop. Both were delicious, but the Orange Creamsicle was my favorite. It was a refreshing take on the classic flavor. I especially loved the bits of orange zest sprinkled throughout. It only took one visit for me to become a fan of Moo Moo Mia and I can't wait to visit again!

The Bronte Sisters. The Jacksons... You win free ice cream on me if you recognize the pattern. Yes, that's right: these are all siblings who have seamlessly worked together in their respective fields. I raise the list to include Mia and Mark Pedersen - the brother and sister team behind the ice creamery Moo Moo Mia with locations in both Montrose and Monrovia. You won't find Mia and Mark bickering or partaking in sibling rivalry; but you WILL find them creating quality, home made ice cream for Angelinos. Mark and Mia made their way from Denmark to Los Angeles in 2009 initially working in a Danish franchise despite both having a background in ice cream-making. When Covid hit in 2020 with its path of destruction to so many businesses; Mark and Mia decided they should cut their losses and create their own company that they can rely on their decision-making and thus Moo Moo Mia was born. Moo Moo Mia strives to produce Grade-A ice cream using crème de la crème ingredients such as milk from Scott Brother Dairy cows (another sibling company where cows roam free on 900 acres and are hormone free producing sensational milk) and offer unique flavor combinations. After a recent poor gelato experience at another LA business; my boyfriend and I decided to reward ourselves with ice cream from Moo Moo Mia on Honolulu in Montrose (this was our second time at this location). Nestled in the charming central Montrose corridor; Moo Moo Mia welcomes with a pastel color wheel façade/signage and a small square footage ice cream shop. When I say 'small'; I genuinely mean small as Moo Moo Mia is tiny with a display case/order counter and a claustrophobic standing room space with a few loose tables outside. This is definitely an "order and get out" establishment. Due to this congestion, Moo Moo Mia felt a bit hectic on both of our visits which always makes one feel guilty to ask for samples in order to not hold up the line. The flavor options at Moo Moo Mia aren't super extensive (there isn't that much to choose from) BUT there do have those unique combinations Mia and Mark boast of with pride. I have sampled a few flavors at Moo Moo Mia such as Honey Lavender (Sweet cream ice cream layered with delicate ribbons of lavender and finished with a touch of raw organic honey - so good with perfect lavender notes!), March flavor of ice cream with Luck Charms marshmallows and Sweet Taro. On our second visit, my boyfriend kept it simple with a single cone ($5.50) of Madagascar Vanilla Bean (Made with imported ground Madagascar vanilla beans) and a kid's cup ($4.25) of March's monthly flavor Coconut Ube for me. Mark and Mia aren't exaggerating about Moo Moo Mia's ice cream as it truly is quite good: creamy, thick and not overly sweet; the texture is perfection. The Honey Lavender holds my heart but the Coconut Ube was also delicious although it tasted of 95% ube with a small 5% after taste of coconut water. Good thing I like Ube! My boyfriend's vanilla was, in his words, "The best vanilla!" and I agree that Moo Moo Mia truly elevates a basic flavor making it extra special. The consensus is that the ice cream is wonderful, no doubt. The customer service at Moo Moo Mia leaves a lot to be desired, however. During both visits the associates were very dry, somewhat curt - although not rude, per se - and are literally only there to get the job done and that's it. Even though this isn't too terrible; it prevents Moo Moo Mia from being a perfect experience. Moo Moo Mia is a delicious and quality option for an ice cream treat that you can truly taste but the lack of numerous flavor options, the teen-tiny shop and the customer service are flaws that keep it from being exceptional. Despite this, Moo Moo Mia is recommended for all ice cream lovers - whether you have a sibling or not!

My first time was at their Rancho Cucamonga location. Nick, the staff member who helped me, was very nice and helpful. I asked for recommendations on their best flavors. He graciously offered them. Thank you Nick! I got to sample a handful of flavors... Boston Cream Pie, Sea Salt Caramel, Death By Chocolate, Caramel Macchiato, and Cinnamon. Thanks for the samples! All the flavors were very good except for the Cinnamon which I thought was very light in taste. Since I was driving, I chose an ice cream shake instead of a cup or cone. Caramel Macchiato was my pick! It had a really nice caramel flavor with coffee bean bits. I was slightly disappointed that they didn't pile up the ice cream to the top of the lid. It stopped at the top of the cup. I felt I was shorted some ice cream unfortunately. Hence, 4 stars! Nevertheless, Nick was amazing. His service was fantastic. Wonderful conversation and experience. Ice cream shake was yummy. It was finished before I arrived home. YES, I will come back to try their other unique flavors! Thank you Bruster's!
