6/23/24 Just happened to walk by after shopping at the Alhambra fmr mkt & the delectable treats beckoned. I was in bit of a hurry coz Hubby was already waiting for me in the truck. So I chose the "safest" treat for mom & dad (not too rich & decadent), fruit tarts. The lady at the counter was helpful. I appreciate that she boxed the 2 tarts & even put a little sprig of baby's breath flowers with the tiny ribbon. Nice touch. I have yet to know how the tarts taste like but based off this experience, they earned a wonderful 4 stars
Been coming since they opened just for their carrot cake. Walk-In ready to go -- they have carrot cake $4.50 petite cake/cupcake, $6.50 mini mini cake, $34 carrot cake for 6ppl. There's green loading zone in the front. This was our friend's favorite carrot cake joint. And years later, it is the same love! Many friends have come here (1hour+ drive away) to also get carrot cake for family or friends bday too. Staff are nice. They'll pick up the phone.
I really love their Tres Le Leche cake.. this 5 star is for Tres leche. the rest of the bakeries are fine.. I tried many different ones, however, sometimes, they are not fresh. One time the cheesecake didn't taste good, it was old. The other time, I got Boston pie and there was little mold inside, and it tasted bad, I returned it, the cashier girl was nice and kind, but the owner or manager-a guy- he was keep asking me why I am returning the Boston pie- and what was wrong in it. He seemed like he didn't trust me, or I was lying to him.. that was funny experience, though..
I walked into this magical bakery of delicious sweet wonders and knew I'd found my happy place. It's located in downtown Alhambra and while most people grab & go they do have four tables inside and a couple outside if, like me, you want to enjoy your purchases there. After gazing into their display case of cakes, cookies, and other sweet treats I decided on the crème brûlée (which most reviewers rave about) and also a white chocolate truffle with raspberries and something called an espresso cloud. They also have a few coffee drinks so I ordered an Aztec Maya Mocha too. The fuss over the crème brûlée is well deserved as it was excellent and the same could be said for the truffle. The espresso cloud was sort of a macaron with an espresso flavored filling which I enjoyed very much. And the mocha was delicious with a vibrant chocolate flavor with a hint of cinnamon that prevailed over the taste of coffee. There is so much to choose from here and I don't think you could possibly go wrong with whatever you pick. note: there is a single, small restroom for customers which doubles as the employee locker room.
Nice little dessert shop on Main Street if you're looking for some non-Asian desserts. They have a good variety of options, and everything is beautifully presented. That said, most of the desserts run a bit too sweet, even for someone with a sweet tooth. Still, I really enjoyed their cheesecakes. They're probably my favorite from what I've tried. Definitely worth a visit if you're nearby and craving a cheat meal.
The lemon tart was exquisite #ChefsKiss The tartness balanced perfectly well with the sweetness. Paired well with brandy. Appreciate the lovely service and attentiveness from the lady that helped me. Looking forward to having another treat here.
It's so nice to see a business that's still running after all this time. I remember when I passed by this place everyday walking home from school. I stopped by to pick up cakes and pies for a birthday occasion. They also sell bigger cakes and I believe they said they can do any flavor as long as you call and pre-order. Everything here is pretty sweet. Don't expect "it's not too sweet" comments if you buy goods from here. Back then I'd sit down and enjoy a small cake or two inside the store but I see boxes on every tables. I guess we can't dine in anymore? I can't wait to see their Valentine's special! I'll be stopping by for sure. I parked on the street and walked over. They accept credit cards.
Love this little neighborhood bakery! Their desserts look so pretty and present so well! This last time, I picked up 3 for the family: berry cheesecake, tres leches cake and creme brûlée. All were scrumptious! The cheesecake was perfect with a nutty crust and fruity berries to balance the richness of the cream cheese filling. The tree leches melted in my mouth! I think it's one of the best desserts here. I didn't get a chance to even taste the brûlée-family got to it first! Will be coming back soon for sure!
Stopped by this bakery after lunch at Gen bbq and found a nice place to sit and enjoy dessert! They had tables and seating for you to enjoy your treat and coffee or tea. The staff was helpful in answering our questions about the available desserts. We had ordered the tres leches, pecan pie, and Chocolate covered strawberries. The tres leches was very rich and the cake was soft and moist. This item is a little different as it is a variation including coffee. It may not be suitable for those with caffeine sensitivity. However it is very good. The pecan pie was very rich and had tons of pecan in every bite. The pecans were very fresh and tasty. It was not overly sweet but the right level of sweetness for pecan pie. The chocolate covered strawberry was fresh and tart and the chocolate had a nice thick layer. Plenty of Parking is available in the surrounding area.
The ambiance is warm and cozy, there is a few seating options inside but outside they are more seating options. A perfect way to spend people watching and enjoying a cup of coffee. I got the blueberry cheesecake, a regular coffee, and the Aztec Maya mocha. My guest got 2 kitty cookies which is somewhat like a Hello Kitty. The service was great, the WMN that was serving us was friendly, courteous, and attentive to our wants and needs. Will I come here again of course. I love little mom and pop shops that I can go support. :)
Summary: 4 stars for the portion and price, taste highly subjective and temperature dependent, depending on the individual dessert item *** 10 years ago, my mom's friend bought two custom cakes to a birthday party at our house. It was so good that I snuck multiple pieces and wrote down the name and city from the box. The bakery was Perfectly Sweet. Unfortunately, I have come to realize that the individual dessert selection doesn't offer many "regular" cakes. The chocolate desserts seemed more like fudge-cake ball hybrids. Besides the pie, everything I've tried in recent times needed to come to room temperature first. The problem was my lack of patience; I wanted to eat it right then, which affected the taste. That's why I don't have the heart to give 3/3.5 stars. I feel like if I tried more items, I would find ones that I liked as much as the pie. They have a lot of baked goods. As the bakery's name suggests, their level of sweetness is the right amount for me, somewhere between "American" and "Asian" sweet. The portions are big and affordably priced (around $6). One dessert takes me 2-3 sittings to finish. The employees are nice and helpful with recommendations even when they are busy. - German Chocolate Cake ($6). It was put together like an entremet with layers of chocolate cake and a coconut frosting core. The outside was dark chocolate ganache topped with more coconut. Straight from the display fridge, the cake was not exactly moist. The actual cake part was soft while the rest was a harder fudgy mass. I can't blame them though because the employee who rung us up specifically recommended letting the cake come to room temperature. I thought the ganache was strangely sour even though it wasn't spoiled. The coconut frosting was hard and chewy (again, I should have waited), but it showcased the coconut and nuts. - On another occasion, I had a bite of my friend's chocolate "Truffle" dessert. It was similar to the German Chocolate Cake as it was hard, dense, and fudgy when cold. It tasted alright and probably would have been better at room temperature. - Banana Cream Pie ($6). An employee put a fresh batch of these pies in the display, and I knew I had to try one. The heaping mound of swirled whipped cream looked tantalizing! Underneath it was tall pile of sliced bananas cushioned by banana pudding. The crust was golden brown (perhaps a touch dark), crumbly, and crisp. Overall, the pie was light and refreshing. The crust remained airy and crispy on day two, but became soft on day three in the fridge. - Mango Blueberry Upside Down Cake. I tried this when it was cold. The result was hard and dense and somewhat dry. Heating it up changed the cake completely: the sponge was buttery and bouncy with a touch more salt flavor. Even the syrup spots reactivated and became sticky. I couldn't taste much of the mango, but the dried blueberries were present. - Cheesecake. It had a sour cream topping and a cookie-type crust studded with nuts. The taste of the crust was okay; I would have preferred graham cracker. The cheesecake itself was not bad. It was smooth and a little lighter than a NY style cheesecake.
I found this cute little bakery 10 years ago when I lived in Alhambra. This bakery is by far my favorite place to go to when I'm in the mood for something perfectly sweet. Staff is always helpful and there is plenty of parking located behind the shop. They bake everything in the early mornings so it's always fresh. My favorite is their tiramisu, they have the best there. They have carry a wide range of goodies but it does run out fast so highly suggested getting there early. Nothing here is ever bad or just mediocre. You will not be disappointed.
While I was out with my friends, we wanted to go to a sit down dessert place in Alhambra and we saw this place. When I first came in, I was shocked by the prices (most of which were under $10 if you just wanted something small for yourself) and I was very excited because there were also quite a few choices. I ended up getting this strawberry short cake for $6. Although I was pretty shocked as I continued to eat it that it's mostly strawberries with 2 thin cake layers and whipped cream. While I do like strawberries, I wished there was more of a balance between everything because I felt like I mostly ate strawberries and whipped cream (not necessarily a bad thing). I would be interested in going again since they have a lot of variety and there were some other things I was interested in trying.
As the name of the bakery implies, it's "Perfectly Sweet". I'm generally a bit more wary of purchasing baked goods from non-Asian bakeries since they tend to be sweeter than what my palate likes, but not here! The hours are a bit limited, but I managed to make it in time to grab some pre-made baked goods to go. I got a bag of coconut macaroons, bag of several chocolate chip cookies, 2 red velvet cookies, a baked dog cookie biscuit, and a cute Keroppi sugar cookie. Most of these ended up being gifts, but I did enjoy one of the red velvet cookies and for an already sweet flavor profile with white chocolate chips in it, I was already fearing the worse, but went perfect with a glass of milk. The edges were nicely crisped by the baking too. Delicious. Love that they had a stock of cute, pre-decorated cookies available as well (some Sanrio characters, animals, etc.) They also list all the ingredients used in each of the baked goods that they have prepackaged, which is nice. It's also a cafe where you can order drinks, as well as a place you can order cakes custom order or what they have behind the glass already. There's both seating inside and outside. read more
Perfectly Sweet is one of my all-time favorite bakeries! I've been coming here for years, and their Strawberry Shortcake is my absolute favorite light, fresh, and delicious every single time. I also love their cheesecake and fruitcake, which never disappoint. Whenever I need a birthday treat for a friend, I pick up one of their small cakes. They're always a hit! I especially love the edible chocolate "Happy Birthday" sign and how they package everything so beautifully in a white box with a gold bow and a lavender flower touch it's such a thoughtful and elegant detail. The customer service is consistently amazing warm, welcoming, and always helpful. Highly recommend Perfectly Sweet for anyone looking for high-quality, delicious desserts with a personal touch! read more
Cutely decorated cookies perfect for a party. Also a lot of individual sweets both generic and unique cakes. The pecan pie is especially very sweet--got it for a friend's birthday, and he said it was great! Small location but a handful of tables. Mostly grab and go and quick service. read more

Lovely local bakery in downtown Alhambra! The gentleman up front was helpful in making recommendations. Tried the crème brûlée and it was one of the best I've had. The pastries were massive and really a great deal for the quality and quantity. read more

Perfectly Sweet is a perfect place for cakes or desserts when we have sweet cravings. We usually get strawberry shortcake as it's freshly make with lot of strawberries filling and not too sweet. Tiramisu and banana pie are others great choices. However, we decided to try the seasonal pumpkin roll this time and it was disappointed. The cake itself was hard and dry while the white frosting was super sweet. We barely ate the cake and had to toss it out. read more

This is definitely my go to place when it comes to cakes, mini cakes and deserts in general. I love gifting the mini cakes! They are all soooo delicious especially the cheesecakes, strawberry shortcakes, crème brûlée. Every time I've ordered they package the dessert in a white box w gold ribbon and some fresh lavender flowers which makes it extra special. I understand some of the comments that service is meh but I don't think they always have staff available to work the front so the actual pastry chefs have to come forward and take the orders. Not a big deal... just takes a bit of patience which will be well worth it. You can tell it's a busy shop, there may be boxes in the customer area but the shop is cute and has tables for you to sit in and outside. They also have cookies, chocolate covered strawberries and coffee drinks to order as well. Definitely worth a try. read more

Stumbled upon Perfectly Sweet yesterday and I can honestly say it will be my go to pastry cafe in LA! Inside, you'll see their assortment of pastries and many decorated cookies. It was honestly difficult choosing which I wanted to get because they have so many options. The cashier was very sweet and gave us some recommendations on what to try. I got their fruit tart, blueberry pie, tres leches, and a raspberry bar. The ones I enjoyed the most were the fruit tart (very similar to a Porto's fruit tart) and the blueberry pie (my absolute favorite). There is indoor seating which I think would be perfect for getting some work done or reading a book :) I decided to sit on the tables located right outside the establishment. I can't wait to come back and enjoy all the wonderful pastries Perfectly Sweet has to offer! read more

This place could not be more aptly named! Every treat I have tried here has been delicious! The Crème brûlée stands out, but basically anything we have tried has been exceptional and delicious. It's been here a long time because everyone in the neighborhood (and beyond) knows where to get their fix of sweet treats! read more

On a Saturday morning in late September, I arrived here to buy a small birthday cake. They sell varieties of small cakes, cupcakes, and cookies in bags. I was surprised they sell small cakes for $6 which is cheaper than going to supermarket bakery. For red velvet, I would have to special order so I will know it for future. read more

WOW WHAT A TREAT! LIFE IS SHORT, ALWAYS ORDER THE DESSERT! *HEART EYES EMOJI* Okay- while waiting for boiling crab, we walked across the street when I saw this big sign that said "sweets" it was dark/ 8pm at night but I managed to see it! LOL. I dragged my boyfriend and here I was, telling myself I'm going to lose 10lbs yet in a pastry shop- Mexicans (myself) are so annoying, right? LOL. Customer service:10/10 As soon as we walked in, the most amazing woman asked us if she can help, and that she just put out cheesecake with fresh fruits. So, of course I had to have the fresh fruit cheesecake!! Also, a creme brûlée caught my eye, so I went ahead and ordered that too! She has a soft little voice and was just so nice! Most dessert shops aren't so friendly so I really appreciate that she was honestly so sweet! Food: 10/10 Okay, that dang cheesecake is worth the extra pounds I probably gained because I didn't share ONE BIT! It was not overly sweet, the perfect amount of tart, sweet, and the crispy fresh fruit, just YES! 10/10! The creme brûlée, was also a 10/10! However, I did let it sit 2 days and it started dripping everywhere? So by time I got to it half of the flavor was gone. However, the inside of the custard was SO DANG GOOD!!!! I guess that's how instill know it's a 10+, right? After I ruined it, it was still so dang delicious! Price: 10/10 In all honesty, Alhambra can be pretty expensive. But- I feel per prices are doable! They have smaller options for 2.00 cheaper. Like a crème brûlée was 3.50 for a small, and 6.00 for the bigger one. Like, that's perfect! The big cheesecake was about 6.00 and my smaller creme brûlée was 3.00 altogether it was 9.00 I think. My boyfriend bought me my desserts and also thought it was priced pretty good. Will we be back? YES. Do I recommend this cute little desserts spot to my yelp fam? Also, YES. It really was great, and the customer service was even better. The sweet woman even told us to please not park beside her shop because they're towing people and she gets so sad when they do that. Bless her heart! Thank you for saving us a ticket, and making my dessert so great! See you soon perfectly sweet! read more
