As the name of the bakery implies, it's "Perfectly Sweet". I'm generally a bit more wary of purchasing baked goods from non-Asian bakeries since they tend to be sweeter than what my palate likes, but not here! The hours are a bit limited, but I managed to make it in time to grab some pre-made baked goods to go. I got a bag of coconut macaroons, bag of several chocolate chip cookies, 2 red velvet cookies, a baked dog cookie biscuit, and a cute Keroppi sugar cookie. Most of these ended up being gifts, but I did enjoy one of the red velvet cookies and for an already sweet flavor profile with white chocolate chips in it, I was already fearing the worse, but went perfect with a glass of milk. The edges were nicely crisped by the baking too. Delicious. Love that they had a stock of cute, pre-decorated cookies available as well (some Sanrio characters, animals, etc.) They also list all the ingredients used in each of the baked goods that they have prepackaged, which is nice. Perfectly Sweet is one of my all-time favorite bakeries! I've been coming here for years, and their Strawberry Shortcake is my absolute favorite light, fresh, and delicious every single time. I also love their cheesecake and fruitcake, which never disappoint. Whenever I need a birthday treat for a friend, I pick up one of their small cakes. They're always a hit! I especially love the edible chocolate "Happy Birthday" sign and how they package everything so beautifully in a white box with a gold bow and a lavender flower touch it's such a thoughtful and elegant detail. Had the opportunity to try their banana cream pie from the Del Mar Whole Foods, and let me start by saying I was initially skeptical. I loovvvveee coconut and banana cream pie, but it has to be made from scratch, real custard, real whipped cream, real slices of banana (or coconut flakes), and no soggy bottoms. This banana cream pie from Perfectly Sweet hits all those marks and doesn't cost a leg and an arm! Amazing and cant wait to buy again. 6/23/24 Just happened to walk by after shopping at the Alhambra fmr mkt & the delectable treats beckoned. I was in bit of a hurry coz Hubby was already waiting for me in the truck. So I chose the "safest" treat for mom & dad (not too rich & decadent), fruit tarts. The lady at the counter was helpful. Been coming since they opened just for their carrot cake. Walk-In ready to go -- they have carrot cake $4.50 petite cake/cupcake, $6.50 mini mini cake, $34 carrot cake for 6ppl. There's green loading zone in the front. This was our friend's favorite carrot cake joint. And years later, it is the same love! I really love their Tres Le Leche cake.. this 5 star is for Tres leche. the rest of the bakeries are fine.. I tried many different ones, however, sometimes, they are not fresh. One time the cheesecake didn't taste good, it was old. The other time, I got Boston pie and there was little mold inside, and it tasted bad, I returned it, the cashier girl was nice and kind, but the owner or manager-a guy- he was keep asking me why I am returning the Boston pie- and what was wrong in it. I walked into this magical bakery of delicious sweet wonders and knew I'd found my happy place. It's located in downtown Alhambra and while most people grab & go they do have four tables inside and a couple outside if, like me, you want to enjoy your purchases there. After gazing into their display case of cakes, cookies, and other sweet treats I decided on the crème brûlée (which most reviewers rave about) and also a white chocolate truffle with raspberries and something called an espresso cloud. They also have a few coffee drinks so I ordered an Aztec Maya Mocha too. The fuss over the crème brûlée is well deserved as it was excellent and the same could be said for the truffle. The espresso cloud was sort of a macaron with an espresso flavored filling which I enjoyed very much. And the mocha was delicious with a vibrant chocolate flavor with a hint of cinnamon that prevailed over the taste of coffee. There is so much to choose from here and I don't think you could possibly go wrong with whatever you pick. note: there is a single, small restroom for customers which doubles as the employee locker room. read more

It's so nice to see a business that's still running after all this time. I remember when I passed by this place everyday walking home from school. I stopped by to pick up cakes and pies for a birthday occasion. They also sell bigger cakes and I believe they said they can do any flavor as long as you call and pre-order. Everything here is pretty sweet. Don't expect "it's not too sweet" comments if you buy goods from here. Back then I'd sit down and enjoy a small cake or two inside the store but I see boxes on every tables. I guess we can't dine in anymore? I can't wait to see their Valentine's special! Stopped by this bakery after lunch at Gen bbq and found a nice place to sit and enjoy dessert! They had tables and seating for you to enjoy your treat and coffee or tea. The staff was helpful in answering our questions about the available desserts. We had ordered the tres leches, pecan pie, and Chocolate covered strawberries. The tres leches was very rich and the cake was soft and moist. This item is a little different as it is a variation including coffee. It may not be suitable for those with caffeine sensitivity. However it is very good. The pecan pie was very rich and had tons of pecan in every bite. The pecans were very fresh and tasty. It was not overly sweet but the right level of sweetness for pecan pie. The chocolate covered strawberry was fresh and tart and the chocolate had a nice thick layer. Plenty of Parking is available in the surrounding area. read more

It was so good that I snuck multiple pieces and wrote down the name and city from the box. The bakery was Perfectly Sweet. Unfortunately, I have come to realize that the individual dessert selection doesn't offer many "regular" cakes. The chocolate desserts seemed more like fudge-cake ball hybrids. Besides the pie, everything I've tried in recent times needed to come to room temperature first. The problem was my lack of patience; I wanted to eat it right then, which affected the taste. That's why I don't have the heart to give 3/3.5 stars. I feel like if I tried more items, I would find ones that I liked as much as the pie. They have a lot of baked goods. As the bakery's name suggests, their level of sweetness is the right amount for me, somewhere between "American" and "Asian" sweet. The portions are big and affordably priced (around $6). One dessert takes me 2-3 sittings to finish. The employees are nice and helpful with recommendations even when they are busy. - German Chocolate Cake ($6). It was put together like an entremet with layers of chocolate cake and a coconut frosting core. The outside was dark chocolate ganache topped with more coconut. Straight from the display fridge, the cake was not exactly moist. The actual cake part was soft while the rest was a harder fudgy mass. I can't blame them though because the employee who rung us up specifically recommended letting the cake come to room temperature. I thought the ganache was strangely sour even though it wasn't spoiled. The coconut frosting was hard and chewy (again, I should have waited), but it showcased the coconut and nuts. - On another occasion, I had a bite of my friend's chocolate "Truffle" dessert. It was similar to the German Chocolate Cake as it was hard, dense, and fudgy when cold. It tasted alright and probably would have been better at room temperature. - Banana Cream Pie ($6). An employee put a fresh batch of these pies in the display, and I knew I had to try one. The heaping mound of swirled whipped cream looked tantalizing! Underneath it was tall pile of sliced bananas cushioned by banana pudding. The crust was golden brown (perhaps a touch dark), crumbly, and crisp. Overall, the pie was light and refreshing. The crust remained airy and crispy on day two, but became soft on day three in the fridge. - Mango Blueberry Upside Down Cake. I tried this when it was cold. The result was hard and dense and somewhat dry. Heating it up changed the cake completely: the sponge was buttery and bouncy with a touch more salt flavor. Even the syrup spots reactivated and became sticky. I couldn't taste much of the mango, but the dried blueberries were present. - Cheesecake. It had a sour cream topping and a cookie-type crust studded with nuts. The taste of the crust was okay; I would have preferred graham cracker. The cheesecake itself was not bad. It was smooth and a little lighter than a NY style cheesecake. read more

I was able to find a few local ice cream shops, but they weren't quite enticing to me. I happened to stumble on Perfectly Sweet, which caught my attention because of its display cases of mini pies, giant truffles and sugar cookies, and personal-sized mousse cakes, cheesecakes, tarts, etc. What I also liked about the bakery was the homemade charm that the desserts had. It was rather difficult for me to settle on something, but I wasn't nearly as hungry to warrant one of the cakes. I ended up purchasing two types of chocolates: a white chocolate raspberry truffle and a white chocolate hazelnut crunch cup. They were bite sizes compared to the other desserts, but that's all I was really looking for anyway. but I thoroughly enjoyed the chocolates. The white chocolate raspberry truffle was huge, unlike an artisan truffle you may find at a chocolatier. It was a few notches down from the size of a chocolate covered strawberry. The white chocolate was rich and sweet, and there were actually real raspberries inside. The other piece was loaded with chopped hazelnuts, so it had a great crunchy texture. This is definitely my go to place when it comes to cakes, mini cakes and deserts in general. I love gifting the mini cakes! They are all soooo delicious especially the cheesecakes, strawberry shortcakes, crème brûlée. Every time I've ordered they package the dessert in a white box w gold ribbon and some fresh lavender flowers which makes it extra special. I understand some of the comments that service is meh but I don't think they always have staff available to work the front so the actual pastry chefs have to come forward and take the orders. Not a big deal... just takes a bit of patience which will be well worth it. You can tell it's a busy shop, there may be boxes in the customer area but the shop is cute and has tables for you to sit in and outside. Stumbled upon Perfectly Sweet yesterday and I can honestly say it will be my go to pastry cafe in LA! Inside, you'll see their assortment of pastries and many decorated cookies. I got their fruit tart, blueberry pie, tres leches, and a raspberry bar. The ones I enjoyed the most were the fruit tart (very similar to a Porto's fruit tart) and the blueberry pie (my absolute favorite).
