Came here looking to see if i could get a cake without preordering and they said yes! There were a few in display that you could choose from. I ended up choosing the lychee sakura and it was super yummy. Not too sweet, floraly and had peach fruits in it. They let you choose the toppers and she added bees in it to make it look better.. They have a blind bag and alot of other pastries. Got the bolo bao with butter and that was tasty as well. Would definitely come back
Review is for a Too Good To Go pick up order only. Arrived shortly after the bakery opened. Only one woman working behind the counter. Very generous assortment of pastries included in the TGTG bag. The taro marble bun and matcha pastry were my favorite. I will be back for the super cute paint yourself and character themed cookies.
A very interesting bakery for me. Everything they had was new for me. I wanted to try it all but I controlled myself. I got a bun and this tricolor bread that tasted amazing. I made a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and loved it. Will go back just for that. The bun was ok a bit too sweet for me. Customer service was friendly. They also sell cakes and tea and coffee. Some indoor seating is available.

In their mystery bag, they had variety of baked goods. Plenty of parking in the lot at the front of store. Service was nice and quick. Will come back to try other bakery items next time.
TooGoodToGo app: Included apple danish pastry, black sesame mochi bun, matcha buns with matcha coconut shavings, sugar cookie, and coconut pastry. There's a dedicated parking lot and spots for bakery customers. I would say all their pastries tasted good, except their sugar cookie. The cookie was more on the dense and sweet side for my taste. All the pastries were filled with a generous amount of filling. Personally, I think the bag would be great option if you wanted to share bread with multiple people because the carbs and sugar add up.

Going on a trip tomorrow and need food to take on the plane Excellent friendly service and delicious pastries! Karen was so helpful today! She helped me identify the pastries in my goodie bags! Love the varieties here. Many of their creations are so unique that you can't find them anywhere else!!!

A lack of forethought left me scrambling to find a good birthday cake for my kid (the bakery I planned to visit -- and the backup -- were both closed that day). So we came here to see if there's a nice cake the birthday girl would like. The choice was a hard one. That day they had the following cake flavors available: black sesame, lychee rose, hojicha, Oreo, taro, and taro ube. The birthday girl chose lychee rose, which was delicate, floral, and not too sweet. The cake was light and fluffy, and the whipped cream frosting like a cloud. And the kids fought over the pieces of lychee on top. But that was later. While we were in the store, the staff put the cake we chose in a beautiful clear box, decorated it further, and tied it up nice and tight with a ribbon. This make transporting the cake easier -- the cake did not move at all during the car ride home. (Although we did have to drool the whole way home because we could see that cake right there in the clear box!) As we were leaving, we saw their selection of decorated cookies, including those with labubus and k-pop demon hunters characters that are all the rage with the kids. So we got a couple of those too. They were pricey and hard, but the kids loved them.

Super not sure how to feel about this place. They do some thick "toasts" that are basically fancy thick slices of bread, actually quite good (and priced accordingly). Sponge cake was just okay. Croissants did not look great, but they had a massive chocolate chip cookie that was tempting (sadly I had to resist). Some more traditional Chinese bakery items as well-- a customer in front of me was picking up a beautiful looking cake-- but my overall impression was more middling than memorable.
I was looking to buy a Birthday Cake for my partner from an Asian-style Bakery and was passing through SGV visiting a friend and his family. Around the corner from his home was D'ange. When we first got inside (entering from rear as that's where the parking lot is), I was worried they didn't have cakes because the bulk of the store was set up to display breads and small pastries but towards the front was a small display case full of beautiful (but small) cakes. FYI - The breads we passed did look very good and we picked up a few curry buns, taro breads and coffee breads to go. We asked the employee which cakes were what flavors and which ones were available to buy (as many has sales slips tucked underneath). The employee kindly told us what we wanted to know and we settled on the black sesame since that was the most common cake with sales slips (so you figure it'd be good, right?). After picking the cake, the employee packaged the cake with a birthday sign, a candle and cutter and rang up our purchase. I wouldn't be surprised if she was the owner, she was very sweet and attentive. At our party later that evening, everyone loved the cake though many of wished there was maybe more cake and less frosting on the top and sides. The inner black sesame frosting layer itself was excellent though, that's the one frosting we wished there was more of. Overall very happy with the cake and wished I lived closer to go to D'ange more often. I guess I'll have to visit my friend more often!
01/30/26 Friday Came around 10:30 AM to pick up a Too Good to Go (TGTG) order. TGTG is an app that allows businesses to sell their leftover or flawed goods for a discounted price in a bundle of their choice. So you don't know what you get, BUT it reduces food waste (#sustainability) while being easier on your wallet. You pay a price they name and they give you the value they listed. The owner (I presume) handed us a prepackaged brown bag the moment we got there. It wasn't busy at all so the whole transaction was under 5 minutes. It's a mom & pop Asian bakery that's spacious and warm. Our surprise bag contained 7 mini breads: black sesame mochi, red sesame mochi, taro bun with filling, hot dog cheese bread, buo luo bao, ham + cheese bun, and another bread I couldn't quite identify. This is $21 value for $6.99 is what we paid. After heating them up, they tasted almost like fresh so we can't complain. However, I would say these days $3 would get you bigger buns at other similar bakeries, but their fillings were very generous, so it's hard to say. Parking has spots designated to the bakery so look out for the signs. read more

D'ange bakery is located off Las Tunas & Mission. They have a variety of buns, cakes, pastries, puffs, cookies, etc. I really, really like the Taro bun. Other items I've had was Pineapple bun, Matcha cookies, and Curry Beef Puff. All are fresh and delicious. All the pastries are made fresh in-house daily. They have a small section of day old pastries that they sell for a lot less. The Curry beef puff is very tasty. This was delicious!! Taro bun is soooo good and the bread part is elastic and moist!! All buns here are moist and fdmmmly made!! The Matcha cookies are my fave. Mildly sweet, buttery, and very Earthy, rich Matcha taste (I like my Matcha strong). The lady at the counter is very sweet. She was super helpful and very friendly!! Items are slightly pricey compared to other bakeries, however, the quality of the product is outstanding. I don't mind paying more for quality pastries. Holy C**p ! I'm in love with their cake! I've only tried the strawberry shortcake so far and I'm in love. It is a 6" white cake covered in really fluffy meringue and buttercream frosting - the only kind I really like. There are massive strawberries on top sprinkled with powdered sugar. When you cut into the cake, there is more frosting/cream and strawberries in between the 3 cake layers. The cakes stand at about 4". The lady (lead baker? owner?) let me pick the Happy Birthday signage to stick on the cake, and then she boxed it up nicely in this clear box and lacy printed ribbon. She says their bestsellers are actually their unusual flavors like tarot, black sesame, red bean, and tarot+ube. I can see how these special flavors put them on everybody's radar when checking out bakeries in SG. The cakes are on the expensive side, double the price of an 85deg cake (which are 8" diameter usually). But if you're out to impress in-laws, your bosses, some new posh friends, this is probably a nice gift that will show 'em the classy person you are. Worth every dollar! I had been eyeing the black sesame cake on FB's SGV Eats for a while, so I knew I wanted it for my birthday this year. The owner was incredibly kind--it felt like chatting with an old friend. She shared that she took over the bakery less than a year ago and also owns Love to Go Café nearby. When she asked if I wanted a theme for my cake, I chose an African safari since I had just returned from a trip to Africa. The cake turned out absolutely adorable, decorated with animal cutouts, and my friends all raved about how delicious and flavorful the black sesame was. For reference, the cake was 6 inches, cost $68, and was perfect for eight people--though if sliced a bit thinner, it could easily serve 10. We also picked up some bolo pineapple buns, milky buns, and curry pan to try. While the prices here are slightly higher than other Asian bakeries in SGV, the quality of the pastries and bread is higher and well worth it. read more

Owner is from Macau so you know the egg tarts will be such a delicious bakery from all the cakes and baked goods. Highly recommend! Small cake is about $49 and larger one is $65. Cake is super soft and perfectly sweet. Presentation is also really nice, great for birthday celebrations. read more

We ordered a Black Forest birthday cake for my daughter, and it was absolutely perfect! This is her favorite cake, and she's very particular about it -- but this one exceeded all our expectations. The cake tasted incredibly authentic, with rich chocolate layers, fresh cream, and the perfect balance of sweetness. The cherries were fresh and flavorful, and the chocolate shavings made it extra special. It wasn't overly sweet, which we really appreciated. Not only was it beautiful and thoughtfully decorated, but you can truly taste the quality and care in every bite. Hands down one of the best Black Forest cakes we've ever had! Thank you for making her birthday so memorable. We will definitely be back! read more
I was looking for someone to help me make a custom Labubu cake and D'Ange Bakery really delivered! I contacted them on Monday for a Saturday pickup. I sent some inspo pics and asked for the cake to be blue. I didn't know what to expect but when I went to pick it up, I was blown away. The details and color were just what I wanted. The inside was chocolate cake and it was delicious. Very moist and not too sweet. Sundi and her team were amazing. I would definitely recommend this to anyone that needs a custom cake done. The store is also clean and welcoming with many breads and pastries to choose from. They even had Labubu cookies that you can color yourself. Super fun for kids! read more
Ordered the sesame cake here. Personally I like sesame and while this cake was good, I didn't love it. It is sweet and creamy with good sesame flavor. I would have preferred more texture - more than cream and white cake. A tad bit too sweet for me. Customer service was good. Ordered my cake same day and got it by the time I needed. The cake box and the cake topper were cute. Overall the experience was good but the cake wasn't to my liking. read more
Used Too Good to Go to get a surprise bag of bread worth $21. There is small parking lot and it was quiet inside. Staff was friendly upon entry. There was 6 different types of bread inside: coconut toast, red bean toast, red bean bread, ube bread, bolo bread, and cheese bread rolls. Upon reheating them in the oven, it tasted fresh. We saw this cute bakery across the street and had to check it out because the name reminded us of Japanese Swiss roll cake brand Orange. We thought maybe they will also have some roll cake for sale or other small individual cakes. The shop had that fresh baked bread yummy smell when we entered. There was 1 customer and he had highly recommend the Butter Danish roll to us while we browsed around. The prices are abit higher than expected but probably considered normal here in LA? We decided to get 1 bun for us to share to try. The bun was soft, buttery and delicious. Thanks for that recommendation, kind stranger! read more

My lovely friend knew how much I love black sesame and was able to find a place nearby that made it in a cake form. The cake was spongy and the black sesame filling was so good and flavorful. Of course not too sweet, so it was perfect! I would just get the cake to eat just because, who needs an excuse to have cake. read more
The San Marino Residents gravitate to this Cake Shop for their Asian Inspired Cakes: Sesame, Taro, and Mango. Just writing this review makes my mouth drool. I love their Taro Mochi Bun. It is a winner for me! The Curry Beef Pie is a top seller and does run out if you do not get there early. Parking can be busy at peak times. People in the area buy in bulk to treat the office, family, or celebrate a special occasion, like a Birthday! The Manager threw in a topper and packaged the Taro Birthday Cake so beautifully. My Cake was $48 dollars so it is on the pricier side. read more

The shop was established in 2010 and recently had a change of ownership in March 2024. D'Ange Bakery is one of very few bakeries in the SGV (San Gabriel Valley) partnering with Too Good To Go (a mobile app that connects customers with restaurants & stores offering surplus unsold food at discounted prices with a mission to reduce food waste). [Parking]: Easy and free parking with several designated parking spots within a small private parking lot. Just be aware the parking lot has an inconvenient entrance via S Mission Dr, so I personally prefer entering the lot via W Las Tunas Dr. [Selection]: Cookies, various buns with sweet fillings (coconut, red bean, taro, chocolate, sweet butter, red bean mochi, black sesame mochi, coffee, etc.), buo luo bun (pineapple bun), toasts by slice (raisin, purple yam, Nutella, cheese, sesame, taro, green Onion & pork floss, red bean, etc.), loaf of bread (wheat, walnut, etc), danishes, and cakes. Some of more popular breads according to Uber Eat are regular pineapple bun (buo luo bun), taro mochi bun, cream cheese danish, pineapple cake, and black sesame/taro toast. [Price]: I can't say prices are super cheap as one slice of toast is $3.50 and one bun varies from $3.50 to $4.50. However, I was able to receive $21 worth of baked goods for $6.99 via Too Good To Go. *** Surprise Bag [4 slices of toasts - taro, red bean, green onion & pork floss, and plain (?) + 1 sponge cake + 1 cream cheese danish (?) - $21 worth of baked goods for $6.99 via Too Good To Go]: The taro toast I had tasted pretty solid. Sponge cake was surprisingly good with super soft texture. The danish (?) had cream cheese filling and it was another good option. *** Overall I was pretty satisfied with my $6.99 surprise bag with 4 toasts + 1 cake + 1 bread (customers are not able to pick and choose what they want if they use Too Good To Go app) and bread quality was great. While I do think few of their toasts are worth the regular prices, visitors are not likely to find any breads here that they couldn't find at other Chinese bakery shops. P.S. - 1 free Portuguese egg tart with Yelp check-in deal, but I didn't use the deal since I am only here for pick-up via a third party app (Too Good To Go). read more

We we're driving by and I saw the cakes and had to stop in to check it out - this was such a wonderful surprise! Upon entering the smell of butter just encompasses you and you know you're in for a treat. The owner greeted us so warmly and I told her that her beautiful cakes caught my eye - She described every cake to me and we ended up getting a small lychee & rose cake. We also got a few treats to go as well and she was so helpful and literally described every item. The shop is clean, service is fantastic, but the best thing was that everything we got tasted delicious. Top tier bakery! The classic sponge cake was literally perfection- light, airy, lightly sweet and moist. The coffee bun is the flavor I've been chasing in a classic coffee bun that I haven't been able to find since my favorite coffee bun place closed - it was perfectly balanced and moist. The almond crisps were delicious. Our family loved the cake, even the most critical member was raving about it. Everything was fantastic! I cannot wait to come back. They know their craft and it shows! read more

Rare to find a black sesame cake, but D'ange not only had it but they went above and beyond with decorating the cake that we ordered for my nephew's 3rd birthday. Everyone at the party enjoyed it! Went to pick up the cake but left with a bag of bread and a loaf of fresh out of the oven black sesame toast. Must try! The service was great, S who works there was really nice and attentive, and answered all the questions we had about the baked goods they offer in store. read more

Dessert in San Gabriel, California... We were having a snack across the street when James pointed and said, "That bakery is really good!" Haha... okay... let's try it! D'Ange Bakery is a cozy shop with individually wrapped pastries, loaves of bread, and beautiful cakes for sale. There's a free parking lot behind the shop with another entrance. James bought a Jalapeño Bread. I got a Mushroom & Ham Bun and a Ham & Cheese Bun (to eat on the airplane tomorrow). As I was paying, I saw the Custard Tarts in the warmer and got one to consume right there. It was on the eggy side. I've had other egg tarts that were creamier and sweeter. At least my curiosity was answered. Haha! The crust was nice and flakey! Service was efficient and friendly. I'd return if I was in the area again because prices were reasonable! read more
