Good drinks but their mobile ordering pickup experience needs a change. Every time I mobile order to skip the line, I go in and the front ordering area is only manned by one person who takes a while to acknowledge you while they deal with people in line. So many times I've had to wait around for 5+ minutes for my drinks that are already ready because they're dealing with people who are taking their time to order, drinking samples, asking questions, deciding what they want, etc. It's a very frustrating experience because this could be easily solved by having another employee up there or having someone dedicated to checking if anyone's waiting for online orders... I understand that the worker is busy and trying their best- I wish management would add a second person so it's less stressful for the worker and for the customer picking up. They usually have two people work the front at their other location in Diamond Bar- they would definitely benefit from doing the same here. I hope that in the future they have someone else who can help by paying attention to people picking up online orders. My favorite tea spot. My cousin told me the Ember Milktea and Barley Jelly was good so I tried it and it was soooo good! I would have never ordered it if my cousin didn't recommend it to me because the name is unfamiliar. lol. So glad I tried it. The barley jelly is tasty and has great texture. An awesome Torotea location! The location is definitely less crowded than the OG Diamond Bar location. Parking is plentiful in the front of the business. Staff immediately welcomed us in and offered a sample of their location exclusive Pinewood Pure Tea. The aesthetics are nice at this location as compared to the others. The seating is all along the hallway and the vibe is much more chill here. We opted to try the Pinewood Pure Tea as the sample tasted really good! We received the drink within minutes. My sister and I finally tried Torotea and we were so happy we did! We got a total of three drinks but was only able to take a picture of the Uva Milk Tea with Black Tea Tapiochi. Torotea does something really clever instead of the usual boba, they pair their teas with flavored jellies, and it completely changes the experience. My new favorite tea spot! Rarely does a tea spot live up to the hype, but Toro tea has done it! We came in on a Saturday, and surprisingly it wasn't too crowded! Everyone talks about the Popcorn Milktea with Brown Sugar Tapiochi. It sounds a little unusual at first, but it ended up being SO good! The black tea with the buttery popcorn twist somehow works so well together! I usually don't like boba, but I'm a fan of their tapiochi! The texture is soft yet springy, and the best part is, it holds up really well the next day (unlike boba)! Having tried their other locations in Chino Hills & Diamond Bar, I had to check this location out. First impressions is that their shop is very clean. This shop compared to the other locations is that this shop is more vertical. Parking - Free street parking, no designated parking lot. Staff is quick, friendly, and very casual overall. They'll call out your name when your order is ready, very quick even when it's packed. My go to is always the Popcorn Milk Tea which is a drink that you really can't get anywhere else. Very refreshing and one of their signature and most popular drinks. Highly recommend. My wife usually gets the Cassia but this time around, she tried the Koan-im Oolong Milk Tea which is just another name for tieguanyin or iron buddha type drink. Very refreshing as well and easy to sip. Highly recommend if you want a more floral type drink. There were samples to try, which I believe gets rotated. These were the drinks I got: Pinewood Milk Tea ($6.85): It was good. It tasted like a lighter version of earl grey. 3/5 stars Koan-Im Oolong Milk Tea ($6.85): Also good and very light. This one was supposed to be roasted, but it didn't really stand out. 3/5 stars Both teas I got were quite light. I genuinely don't know if it really lives up to any of the tea shops in Alhambra, but it was decent. Price is on the pricier side. Customer service was great though. They have the art of lines down to a science! Their store from the outside looks decently sized, but when you go in there's like this really tiny hallway where there are like these seats that are on a concrete slab which makes that hallway even smaller. I didn't really like the flow of the store because of that because there's this big square room that sticks out (I think this is there kitchen?) The Tapiochi here at Torotea is literally the best topping in a milk tea that I've ever had. And I've been an avid milk tea drinker for almost all my life, LOL. The shop is quite small with not a lot of standing/sitting space. There are a lot of options for drinks, so I honestly had a hard time deciding because everything seemed so good. I went on a weekday afternoon and there was no line, and staff were very welcoming for my first visit and had no problem explaining what was in their tea! There is very little tabletop seating, and it's very much an order-and-go place. (Don't recommend trying to study here.) BUT the boba and tea are where they stand out. My personal favorite so far (and the one I've gone back for time and time again) has been the crème brûlée ice milk drink. Trust me on this one: it's the PERFECT combo of creamy milk mixed with roasted tea and the satisfying chew and texture of their grass jelly boba. I'm completely obsessed with this combo and recommend it to everyone who asks me what to try. You won't be disappointed! Plus, breaking the creme brûlée top is so fun! On the plus side, they also have samples up front of their most popular tea flavors, which is great, especially if you want to try something new but don't want to risk buying a whole drink. (Trust me, I've been there!). Service is quick, friendly, and attentive. Even if the line looks long, the most I've waited is 15 minutes.
