A must-try is the Popcorn Milk Tea with Brown Sugar Tapiochi. This is a rich blend of assam black tea and creamy milk with a toasty buttery popcorn twist. It is my husband's go-to drink. Another drink I would recommend is the Cassia Milk Tea with Brown Sugar Tapiochi, my go-to drink. This drink has a comforting aroma of cinnamon with the maltiness of a milk tea and the creaminess of a latte. Their tapiochi is made in-house daily and is super delicious. This topping feels like boba, mochi, and jelly all in one. The texture of it is nice and enjoyable to chew. It also seems to pair well with basically any drink. Torotea does something really clever instead of the usual boba, they pair their teas with flavored jellies, and it completely changes the experience. We tried three drinks and loved all of them: Mulberry Oolong with Osmanthus Jelly is floral and fragrant, the jelly added a delicate sweetness. Cassia Milk Tea with Brown Sugar Jelly is rich, comforting, and the brown sugar jelly melts perfectly into the milk tea. Ember Milk Tea with Barley Jelly is smoky depth from the tea with a subtle nutty chew from the barley jelly. The jellies are so delicious. The seating area is pretty limited and the space feels a bit narrow/tight, so it might not be ideal if you're looking to sit and linger. My new favorite tea spot! Rarely does a tea spot live up to the hype, but Toro tea has done it! We came in on a Saturday, and surprisingly it wasn't too crowded! Everyone talks about the Popcorn Milktea with Brown Sugar Tapiochi. It sounds a little unusual at first, but it ended up being SO good! The black tea with the buttery popcorn twist somehow works so well together! I usually don't like boba, but I'm a fan of their tapiochi! The texture is soft yet springy, and the best part is, it holds up really well the next day (unlike boba)! We also tried a few other drinks like their Mulberry Oolong with Osmanthus Jelly, Calamansi Oolong, Ember Milktea, and Gardenia Oolong. Having tried their other locations in Chino Hills & Diamond Bar, I had to check this location out. First impressions is that their shop is very clean. This shop compared to the other locations is that this shop is more vertical. Parking - Free street parking, no designated parking lot. Staff is quick, friendly, and very casual overall. They'll call out your name when your order is ready, very quick even when it's packed. My go to is always the Popcorn Milk Tea which is a drink that you really can't get anywhere else. Very refreshing and one of their signature and most popular drinks. Highly recommend. My wife usually gets the Cassia but this time around, she tried the Koan-im Oolong Milk Tea which is just another name for tieguanyin or iron buddha type drink. Very refreshing as well and easy to sip. Highly recommend if you want a more floral type drink. I've been to their other location in Diamond Bar a few times. This is my first time at the San Marino location. The store is small with few seatings in the back along the long narrow space. This is my new favorite place to get boba! I love their unique flavors. Their top two were their Popcorn Milktea with Brown Sugar Tapiochi and the Ember Milktea with Barley Jelly. Finally had the chance to drop by and try this place! We've always driven by and seen a line but never had the time to go! But we had the chance to go last week and wow! They have the art of lines down to a science! Their store from the outside looks decently sized, but when you go in there's like this really tiny hallway where there are like these seats that are on a concrete slab which makes that hallway even smaller. I didn't really like the flow of the store because of that because there's this big square room that sticks out (I think this is there kitchen?) It feels so unnecessary, aren't boba shops suppose to feel welcoming? Because the size of this shop it can make the line stack up even when there's not a lot of people. Pretty smart for them because what drew me is was the line and this shop is on the main room with a subtle sign so it can be hard to miss But aside from that I enjoyed their drinks! I think that I generally prefer standard boba to the tapiochi topping, it is more of a mochi style, easily chewed than swallowed. Went on a Saturday late morning and got parking right in front! Saw a Nice seating area in front and walked in. I was instantly saw how. Ice the interior looked. I'm a big critic of boba. I grew up in the 626 and have been through the craze with Half & Half, ShareTea, GongCha, and more. When I saw another trendy boba shop open up in the area, I was initially skeptical despite hearing all the rave reviews about Torotea. But after coming here around 7 times now, I can confidently say Torotea is worth the drive and wait. When you arrive, you're introduced to a modern, sleek space with a minimalist look. There is very little tabletop seating, and it's very much an order-and-go place. (Don't recommend trying to study here.) BUT the boba and tea are where they stand out. My personal favorite so far (and the one I've gone back for time and time again) has been the crème brûlée ice milk drink. Trust me on this one: it's the PERFECT combo of creamy milk mixed with roasted tea and the satisfying chew and texture of their grass jelly boba. I'm completely obsessed with this combo and recommend it to everyone who asks me what to try. You won't be disappointed! Plus, breaking the creme brûlée top is so fun! On the plus side, they also have samples up front of their most popular tea flavors, which is great, especially if you want to try something new but don't want to risk buying a whole drink. (Trust me, I've been there!). Service is quick, friendly, and attentive. Even if the line looks long, the most I've waited is 15 minutes. Had to check out what the hype was about. Came here at 2:30pm on a Sunday. There were quite a lot of people inside and outside but the line to order was only about 3 people. The lead took our order. She was very enthusiastic and friendly. She walked us through the drink and her recommendations and listened to our preferences. 10/10 would hire Joy.
