A very intentional space which felt like a spa. The server/drink maker was super helpful in explaining everything and guided us to some good choices. I had the pinewood milk tea, unsweetened with the creme brûlée topping. Delicious. It's hard to get a Milk tea to the perfect level of tea to milk ratio and this needed a little more tea for my liking. I will go back and try one with the brown sugar jelly cubes which my daughter loved.
Another Torotea location we can cross off! My husband and I have visited the one in Diamond Bar prior. Same friendly service and the drinks are just as good! We came here on a Sunday afternoon. It was super chill, we were able to enjoy our drinks inside. I ordered their location exclusive Pinewood Pure Tea. It's described as a black tea delicately smoked with pine wood, with a fragrant earthy essence and a whisper of campfire warmth. It was a perfect summer drink that could be enjoyed inside or outside while strolling down the shaded side walk. Overall, I highly recommend! They have so many delicious options. I'm glad we could add this as one of go-to spots in San Marino. Thanks, Torotea!
Stopped by here for some milk tea. There's several parking spots located right in front of the store including some 20 minute parking spots that made it easy for to go. The interior is very clean and aesthetic, love the vibe. There's plenty of seating to wait for your drink. Not really a place to sit and study as no tables. Service was good. I was pleasantly surprised at the popcorn milk tea! It was pretty good although a bit sweet for my liking with the perfect sugar level 70%. I liked the ember milk tea at 50% sugar more, although wish it was more tea forward as I prefer less milky milk teas but still very good and refreshing! I absolutely love their tapiochi jelly's!!!
An awesome Torotea location! The location is definitely less crowded than the OG Diamond Bar location. Parking is plentiful in the front of the business. Staff immediately welcomed us in and offered a sample of their location exclusive Pinewood Pure Tea. The aesthetics are nice at this location as compared to the others. The seating is all along the hallway and the vibe is much more chill here. We opted to try the Pinewood Pure Tea as the sample tasted really good! We received the drink within minutes. Took some time to relax and wind down inside Torotea. It was nice and cool inside on these hot summer days. That Pinewood Pure Tea was top tier! Shout outs to the staff for the hospitality and service! This location is solid! Good vibes! ( ^_^)b
Solid spot for creamy popcorn milk tea and plenty of decaf options! This is one of my go-to places when I'm craving a more dessert- or latte-style boba drink. I usually get the popcorn milk tea, which is sweet and creamy and pairs really well with the boba jelly. The tea flavor is a little harder to pick out in this drink, but everything works well together. I also love that they have several decaf options, including the barley milk tea, which has nice roasty flavors, along with other milk tea and fruit tea choices. The interior is also really aesthetic and inviting. I know that whenever I bring a friend here, they'll enjoy it--it's a spot that seems to be a crowd-pleaser with everyone around me!
We were in the neighborhood for some Vietnamese rolls and pho. I wanted to try boba tea around San Gabriel and found this place on yelp. Tried the Cassia Milk Tea at Torotea in San Gabriel and, unfortunately, it was still way too sweet even after making two sweetness adjustments. I asked the nice staff I like less sweet and she first recommended "perfect" which was still sweet then "less" sweet was also still too sweet. The cafe has many tea selection I am not too familiar with. The cafe itself is really cute and chic--kind of narrow, but with calm, minimalist decor and a unique selection of teas. The staff was also very nice and welcoming. I'd definitely come back to try something else, but I'd probably skip the Cassia Milk Tea next time.
Love the teas and the tea jellies here! The teas have a great strong flavor and I love the addition of the tea jellies which aren't available at other tea shops! I enjoy their pinewood milk tea which is only available at this location. They are also very accommodating and will provide water and umbrellas when it's too sunny outside. Amazing service and also provide samples of some teas inside. They also have a small seating area indoor but the space itself is pretty small.

The staff was helpful since it was our first time here. I ordered their popcorn milk tea with brown sugar tapiochi since it was their signature drink. I wasn't sure what to expect with the flavor, but I thoroughly enjoyed my drink and wished it came in a larger size. The space was pretty small at the San Marino location. It was clean and cute. Looking forward to visiting the new Santa Ana location soon!
I absolutely love the drinks at Torotea. Their drinks taste fresh and distinctive. They look aesthetic too. You can tell that they use high quality tea and ingredients. A must-try is the Popcorn Milk Tea with Brown Sugar Tapiochi. This is a rich blend of assam black tea and creamy milk with a toasty buttery popcorn twist. It is my husband's go-to drink. Another drink I would recommend is the Cassia Milk Tea with Brown Sugar Tapiochi, my go-to drink. This drink has a comforting aroma of cinnamon with the maltiness of a milk tea and the creaminess of a latte. Their tapiochi is made in-house daily and is super delicious. This topping feels like boba, mochi, and jelly all in one. The texture of it is nice and enjoyable to chew. It also seems to pair well with basically any drink. Definitely check this spot out if you have not yet. It is unlike any of the other boba shops around. There are plenty of parking spots directly in front of the shop.
Found my new favorite tea spot! The line was a little long for a Friday afternoon. Torotea does something really clever instead of the usual boba, they pair their teas with flavored jellies, and it completely changes the experience. We tried three drinks and loved all of them: Mulberry Oolong with Osmanthus Jelly is floral and fragrant, the jelly added a delicate sweetness. Cassia Milk Tea with Brown Sugar Jelly is rich, comforting, and the brown sugar jelly melts perfectly into the milk tea. Ember Milk Tea with Barley Jelly is smoky depth from the tea with a subtle nutty chew from the barley jelly. The jellies are so delicious. The seating area is pretty limited and the space feels a bit narrow/tight, so it might not be ideal if you're looking to sit and linger. Best for grabbing your drink to go or a quick sit down.
Having tried their other locations in Chino Hills & Diamond Bar, I had to check this location out. First impressions is that their shop is very clean. This shop compared to the other locations is that this shop is more vertical. Parking - Free street parking, no designated parking lot. Staff is quick, friendly, and very casual overall. They'll call out your name when your order is ready, very quick even when it's packed. My go to is always the Popcorn Milk Tea which is a drink that you really can't get anywhere else. Very refreshing and one of their signature and most popular drinks. Highly recommend. My wife usually gets the Cassia but this time around, she tried the Koan-im Oolong Milk Tea which is just another name for tieguanyin or iron buddha type drink. Very refreshing as well and easy to sip. Highly recommend if you want a more floral type drink. Very happy about our experience with Torotea overall, one of the best shops with very high quality drinks. I hope one day they can add drinks with bigger cups, it's just too addicting!
My new favorite tea spot! Rarely does a tea spot live up to the hype, but Toro tea has done it! We came in on a Saturday, and surprisingly it wasn't too crowded! Everyone talks about the Popcorn Milktea with Brown Sugar Tapiochi. It sounds a little unusual at first, but it ended up being SO good! The black tea with the buttery popcorn twist somehow works so well together! I usually don't like boba, but I'm a fan of their tapiochi! The texture is soft yet springy, and the best part is, it holds up really well the next day (unlike boba)! We also tried a few other drinks like their Mulberry Oolong with Osmanthus Jelly, Calamansi Oolong, Ember Milktea, and Gardenia Oolong. The Gardenia Oolong comes in a larger glass bottle as a pure tea. We enjoyed all of these drinks as well, but the Popcorn Milktea was our fave!
Whenever folks ask me what my favorite drink spot is, I immediately think of Torotea. I remember visiting the Diamond Bar and willingly waiting in line to order a whole tray of drinks before the San Marino location opened - that's how good this place is. I feel like this location is a minimalistically artistic cave. I also really appreciate that there's always spa water, sunscreen, and umbrellas for those waiting outside if lines get long. In terms of drinks, my go to is always the osmanthus citrus refresher with osmanthus jelly, but you really can't go wrong with anything you order here. The drinks take time as they're made to order, but they are absolutely worth the wait.

Patient zero at Torotea I love this place. If you've never been, what are you doing? Go try the famous popcorn milk tea! I also recommend the koan in milk tea, but honestly, you can't really go wrong with anything here. Whatever you get, you have to try the tapioca mochi with your drink. It's so unique, chewy, and delish. I definitely prefer tapioca mochi over regular boba. Also, you can choose between 3 different cream tops: Himalayan sea salt, vanilla cold foam, and crème brûlée, which are all so good! read more
The menu is pretty staggering for someone who has never been here before. A friend got me this drink while visiting me and I was blown away that I just had to come here myself. This location is much closer to me than the other one. The workers were happy to assist with any questions I had, which I had several. The store itself was cramped in my opinion. It's elongated so it can be pretty squishy if you visit on a busy day. read more

Second time visiting this location, and it was just as good as I remembered! I hadn't been here in a few months, and it looks like they've expanded their menu. They also added more outdoor seating, which is nice since the interior is pretty small. Parking is street parking only, but I've never had any trouble finding a spot. Emily, the cashier, was incredibly friendly and helpful. She took the time to walk us through the new seasonal drinks and menu additions, which made it much easier to decide what to order. Popcorn Milk Tea with Brown Sugar Tapioca ($7.85) - My go-to drink! - Perfect level of sweetness without being overpowering - Rich, creamy, nutty flavor - Brown sugar tapioca had the perfect soft and chewy texture (only wished it was cut a bit smaller) Pinewood Milk Tea ($6.85) - Similar to the Popcorn Milk Tea, but with a lighter, more subtle nutty flavor - Still delicious, though I personally prefer the Popcorn Milk Tea Jasmine Oolong Milk Tea ($6.85) - A great option if you're looking for something lighter and more refreshing Everything was made well, and the service made the experience even better. 3 stars After hearing some friends rave about Torotea, I decided to pick up some drinks to try. The service is spotless! The cashier knew his tea and really helped me pick my drinks. There were samples to try, which I believe gets rotated. These were the drinks I got: Pinewood Milk Tea ($6.85): It was good. It tasted like a lighter version of earl grey. 3/5 stars Koan-Im Oolong Milk Tea ($6.85): Also good and very light. This one was supposed to be roasted, but it didn't really stand out. 3/5 stars Both teas I got were quite light. I genuinely don't know if it really lives up to any of the tea shops in Alhambra, but it was decent. Price is on the pricier side. Customer service was great though. Parking is street parking, which is free. I'll come back to try other drinks with their toppings. But for now 3 stars.... read more
Fantastic boba tea shop. The interior is stunning and I love the natural stone like design. I got their most popular popcorn milk tea with tapiochi and it was absolutely incredible. The unique buttery like flavor complimented the milk tea and the tapiochi was smooth, soft, and chewy. It is very pricey though, I paid about $9 for a drink... but it's definitely worth trying if you are a sucker for a fire milk tea. read more

Expect to wait in line, but there is cold cucumber mint water available outside so you can cool off while you wait - such a caring and thoughtful touch. I was surprised that all the drinks with oolong was an additional 15-min wait. Since it's the base of so many of their drinks, why would that not be constantly brewing? There are seats inside and outside, but it can feel a bit crowded. All the drinks on the menu taste refreshing, unique, healthy, and upscale. There's a natural feel to the inside decor. read more

Very cute boba shop! Boba barista answered all the questions i had about the menu and was very patient. They have street parking in front of the stoor Jasmine oolong milk tea 4/5 it is caffeinated and was the perfect pick me up for studying. The milk tea flavor was light. I got it with black tea tapioca and this really stood out to me. I reallyyyy like the black tea tapioca!! It reminds me of when my mom used to make it at home Popcorn Milktea with Brown Sugar Tapiochi 4/5. Imagine yourself walking through Disneyland and you smell popcorn. This is what the drink reminds me of, the popcorn flavor is very very subtle and not overpowering. It's great to try but i would personally try other drinks when i come back Oojicha Einspanner 5/5!!!!! So yummy!!!!! I would get this drink again!! My sister and I finally tried Torotea and we were so happy we did! We got a total of three drinks but was only able to take a picture of the Uva Milk Tea with Black Tea Tapiochi. Their Popcorn Milk Tea is so unique in flavor but surprisingly it was very good. We will for sure get this drink again next time. It was very busy when we came on a Sunday past lunch time. There were plenty of seating inside the shop which is a big plus for a very busy place. read more
First was greeted by one of the friendly staff with a sample of Zesty Oolong. I was debating to order other items but that sample just left me with such impression and I had to order it (perfect sweetness and perfect ice) While waiting, my husband found me and ask what am i doing in a spa needless to say, the ambiance is definitely a world apart from other places. To me Zesty Oolong is similar to a HK lemon tea but this is much more elevated. read more
The popcorn milk tea was recommended as the drink to try if it's your first time at Torotea. It definitely has a "popcorn" test (mainly in the jelly!) which is unique from other drinks I've tried. Very strong tea flavor which is nice. The matcha einspanner was good but tasted mostly like milk honestly. Inside, the layout is a bit difficult for groups because it's mostly a long hallway, though a very cute aesthetic. They're super friendly to dogs and I was able to bring mine in while waiting! read more

I definitely came at a good time when it was not very busy so not sure how it is when it is more crowded, but this is a nice location with some seating at the store. Shoutout to the staff there for being so kind and patient with answering all of my parents questions too I have been OBSESSED with the Popcorn Milk Tea with the brown sugar tapiochi. I've been to their other location in Diamond Bar a few times. This is my first time at the San Marino location. The store is small with few seatings in the back along the long narrow space. The interior is nice and clean and decorated with a minimalistic aesthetic. There was a also a line when I got here however went fairly quickly. I really love the different types of specialty jelly they have you can add to your drink. I ordered the misty oolong milk tea with osmanthus jelly added. Omanthus jelly is my go to depending on what type of drink. The drink was not too sweet and had a hint of oolong while balanced with a slight sweetness from the osmanthus jelly. Always like to come back! There are always different drinks to try! read more
This is my new favorite place to get boba! I love their unique flavors. Their top two were their Popcorn Milktea with Brown Sugar Tapiochi and the Ember Milktea with Barley Jelly. My girlfriend and I tried these two and they were so delicious. I love the tapiochi and the popcorn milktea actually tastes like popcorn but not in like an insane/weird way. The drinks here really do manage to capture the essence/vibe of the flavor. The ember drink has a smoky taste that reminds you of the taste of fire somehow. I also love the tapiochi! Never had anything like that! Also shoutout to Yoyo B who was really cool and funny and offered us great suggestions on drinks based on what we typically would order. read more
The drinks here are really good! I had the popcorn milktea with less sweetness and it is great if you don't like super sweet drinks! I came later at night so it was zero line and the drinks came out fast! The service is also really good and it does have a seating area but it's not the biggest place. They also give free samples! Aesthetic boba shop with unique drinks in the San Marino area! I got the popcorn milktea with brown sugar tapiochi and it was good, but felt that it could've been better. I was skeptical about the 'popcorn' flavor, but I actually liked it. However, the drink was on the milkier/watered down side. I would've liked more flavor. I did enjoy the brown sugar tapiochi which was soft, chewy, and provided a good amount of sweetness. For around $8, it was on the pricier side for a boba drink. The interior is pretty and I like how the staff does crowd control. They only have a hallway where you can sit with no tables, so not the most ideal for a longer stay. They do have tons of free and easy parking in front which is a plus. I would definitely come back to try the other drinks before I decide to recommend this chain to others. read more

It was ok, had higher expectations. Ember Milk Tea with Barley Jelly ($7.85) Tea flavor could be stronger. Has some oolong taste, and a bit nutty after taste like the staff member mentioned. Not too sweet, creamy but not too creamy. The barley jelly is my favorite! It has so much flavor!! Perfect ice is perfect. The ambiance is nice just like the Diamond Bar location. It does feel a bit smaller and crammed though. Parking in the front is free. Had to park more to the left side though. They offer free lemonade water (spa water) right outside the entrance and sunscreen too! Even though there's a lot of people, I didn't have to wait too long. The staff member that helped me was very nice. I've like their other drinks before but just not the drink I got this time. Also, the price point is very high. read more

Finally had the chance to drop by and try this place! We've always driven by and seen a line but never had the time to go! But we had the chance to go last week and wow! They have the art of lines down to a science! Their store from the outside looks decently sized, but when you go in there's like this really tiny hallway where there are like these seats that are on a concrete slab which makes that hallway even smaller. I didn't really like the flow of the store because of that because there's this big square room that sticks out (I think this is there kitchen?) It feels so unnecessary, aren't boba shops suppose to feel welcoming? Because the size of this shop it can make the line stack up even when there's not a lot of people. Pretty smart for them because what drew me is was the line and this shop is on the main room with a subtle sign so it can be hard to miss But aside from that I enjoyed their drinks! Their boba is so unique, it's like a mochi boba fusion - really yummy! I got their popcorn drink and my fiancé got their osmanthus drink They both were really good! I tried their limited edition matcha duo einspänner and really enjoyed it. The dark green layer on top looked beautiful and tasted just as good. I also appreciate that their drinks aren't overly sweet. It was perfectly balanced without needing to adjust the sugar level. The place itself is very aesthetic and I was warmly welcomed by the friendly staff. Overall, a great experience. I'd give it a solid 4/5. read more

Popcorn milk tea?!!!! I've seen this place viral online for this tea, so I of course had to try it. I went on a weekday afternoon and there was no line, and staff were very welcoming for my first visit and had no problem explaining what was in their tea! The interior is very modern sleek with a touch of boho - it lacks your traditional tables (except for 1 in the back) so it's not good for groups or staying for a long time but it's great for tea on the go! I loved that they had sampler tea by the register to try (garden oolong cold brew tea). Outside they have complimentary citrus water to drink while you're waiting. Such amazing hospitality! I got the Popcorn Milk Tea with their speciality tapiochi (tapioca and mochi hybrid- SO unique and yummy). You truly can taste a buttery rich flavor like popcorn which is so fun. My partner got the Ember Milk Tea with barley jelly, that has a light roasted barley tea and dark roasted oolong tea mix base. He liked the mixture of the tea and the barley jelly, which I also loved as well as we are barley tea lovers and never seen it in jelly form before! I got some Torotea deliver by my friends who were in the area so take note that I got this tea probably an hour past when I was supposed to drink it lol. I ordered the Koan-Im Oolong milk tea with their tapiochi, and the misty oolong milk tea with creme brulee and also tapiochi. I think that I generally prefer standard boba to the tapiochi topping, it is more of a mochi style, easily chewed than swallowed. As for the teas themselves, I greatly preferred the Koan-Im's darker flavor to the light of the misty one, and the creme brulee top was pretty tasty. I don't think this is one of my preferred places, but also maybe it is because I didn't get their specialty popcorn milk tea. No clue about the ambience inside, since I got it delivered, but their website and cup holder that the drinks came in were very aesthetic! read more
