Molly Tea is a very popular boba tea spot with distinctive branding and good quality tea. There are very limited parking spots in their lot but there's plenty of street parking nearby which I recommend. Ordering is at the kiosks to the left when you enter and is very quick and easy. You're assigned a number when done and all that's left to do is wait. There are screens that show which orders are being prepared in the queue and which ones are ready. We went on a weekend and there is not much standing room when it gets busy. Most of the tables tend to be taken by people studying (?!) at the shop even though it was crazy packed and very loud/bustling. It's probably a lot more peaceful during the weekend. The drinks were on the expensive side - ~$8 for a regular size which to me was tiny. They seal your drink like most places but also place a multi use cap on the top so a boba straw can be used or you can sip from the cap. Pretty neat! The branding is a Sakura pink and reminiscent of LV's logo. If you order 3+ drinks you get an insulated bag. There's also some merch available for sale too. Overall I liked Molly Tea and would come again if I was in town, but wouldn't go out of my way due to the price point and value.

The parking lot is on the smaller side, so I'd recommend using any of the apps to order ahead. I promise it makes the whole experience much smoother. My go-to is the Jasmine Milk Tea with matcha foam. It is a combo I keep coming back to. The Jasmine Milk Tea on its own is also solid if you want something simpler. If you're in the mood for something fruitier, the Oolong Peach is a decent option, though it's not quite as memorable as the jasmine drinks. Overall, a solid tea shop if you're into aromatic, floral teas over traditional boba. The decor is super cute with the pink cups and merch.

Luckily, it wasn't busy, but there were a lot Numbers being prepared, I asked the staff about the wait time in case it was long; surprisingly, she said it was less than 10 minutes. Ordered at the kiosk, ordered the premium Jasmine milk tea with oat milk, and 70% sweetness came out quickly. The milk tea was fragrant and delicious.

I'm all about that tea esp jasmine tea (in case you didn't know mo li is jasmine in chinese, hence the name). Chinese tea brands are known to focus on tea quality so that got me excited to try this! The parking lot is a bit small and cramped, I wish they can expand for more parking because the place itself is pretty spacious and aesthetic. And not to mention smells like jasmine tea!!! We got premium jasmine tea and premium jasmine. Orders came fast and both drinks were delicious, floral and refreshing but the standout was the premium jasmine tea. The matcha was good too but the jasmine and matcha were muted. I'd definitely come back and maybe try other drinks that had more jasmine in them!

If you like trendy spots, Molly Tea is definitely a great choice. The shop is beautiful, modern, and especially very clean. The staff are polite, welcoming, and professional. As for the drinks, they are good and easy to enjoy. The tea flavor is not too strong, and the drinks are not overly sweet, which makes them very refreshing and easy to drink. However, parking is quite difficult to find. Honestly, for just one drink, I probably wouldn't want to struggle too much looking for parking

There's a reason this spot is so popular--the tea is really good! I went with the classic premium Jasmine milk tea since this was my first time there, and I got it iced at 50% sweet. They recommend 70% sweet, but I thought 50% was just right. I also got boba, but honestly the brown sugar boba just ruined the flavor, I think I'll get crystal boba next time. I love the packaging as well! Such cute pink cups. They definitely need more areas to sit and park, there was a ton of people there on a Sunday afternoon. The service was honestly not fast, but they were super slammed so I understand. We waited quite a while, but at least they had a board showing which orders were being made. Hope to try more of their drinks soon!

Molly Tea is a popular boba chain in China with its first store opening in Shenzhen, China in 2021. They opened their first US store in Flushing, New York in April 2024. Molly Tea has over 2,000 stores worldwide as of November 2025. This San Gabriel store location isn't exactly the luckiest location as many boba shops have opened and closed here over the past decade (Boba Ave 8090, ID Cha House, 85C Tea House), but it looks like Molly Tea is having great success here. [Parking]: Limited free onsite parking. I came at 3 PM on a weekday so I was able to find an available street parking spot. [Atmosphere & amenities]: About 12 indoor tables and 4 outdoor tables. There is one giant pink teacup in the patio area to take pictures with. They host events like Furry Friend's Party on Saturdays and Sundays (bring your pets to the store and receive a free pet-friendly whipped cream with any purchase - one pet per cup & each customer may receive up to 2 cups per day, limited to 100 cups per day). There is one unisex restroom. [Ordering]: Customers place their orders through one of two kiosks and customers can also purchase Molly Tea souvenirs. Once an order is placed, customers can monitor the screen at the pickup counter to track their order number. They offer large-order discounts: over 20 drinks get 10% off, over 30 drinks get 12% off, over 60 drinks get 15% off, and over 100 drinks get 17% off (orders must be placed in the app). I waited about 25 minutes for my drink and there is a sign stating that during peak hours wait times can be 30 to 45 minutes. [Menu]: There is a sign recommending that drinks with foam should be consumed within 15 minutes as the foam dissipates quickly. Another sign states that their drinks are not very sweet and recommends a 70% sugar level with less ice. The top drinks on the menu are Premium Jasmine Milk Tea, Snowy Jasmine, Premium Jasmine Matcha, Pistachio White Champaca Coconut, White Champaca Milk Tea, and Pistachio Jasmine Coconut. *** Premium Jasmine Milk Tea (regular milk, less ice, sugar 70%, $6.99 + brown sugar boba $0.99): The drink was surprisingly refreshing and quite good with perfect sweetness, but the boba tasted mediocre. *** The drink was a bit expensive and the wait was not ideal, but I can certainly see the appeal. I like Molly Tea better than Chagee, but Chagee has a better price point. A solid 4.5-star on drinks, but bump down due to the mediocre boba, long wait during not-so-busy hours, and limited parking.

I hate that I love this place. The drinks are insanely good but so pricey. The space is absolute chaos and there are more people inside than should be allowed. You'll also wait 20 minutes for a drink and never get a table. Still worth it though.

    Ana T.

I feel like their teas are similar to other places so i usually get their apple milk tea, tongmu lapsang, or camellia. They're very yummy. Though a bit pricey for a small cup :')

    Chloe Y.

Very good teas. The matcha tea was the perfect balance between creaminess and sweetness. The flavor of the cream was not overpowering yet didn't taste bitter. Highly recommend. Also try their plain teas. Full tea flavor and refreshing. Not at all watered down. Worth the wait! Come with enjoyable company, the wait will not seem that long.

I would say this was an average spot - it's like a typical boba place, wouldn't say you need to go out of your way for it but if you're near it, pretty decent choices and place. There's plenty of space to sit and parking in the front and back and street parking but gets filled up pretty quickly. I wanted to try this place because I heard from a friend that it was sooo good- compared to regular boba places, I would say this is a little stronger in the tea but otherwise it's about the same. I got the premium matcha jasmine tea, but curious to come back to try the champaca and pistachio ones.

    Megan L.

I can't say enough good things about Molly Tea. You have to try it and order as many drinks as you can because a visit here will probably be really busy. My friends and I hacked the system and ordered delivery instead, and they did such a phenomenal job of packaging all of the drinks. You can't go wrong with anything because everything truly tastes so good.

    April V.

Yesterday, got the peach milk tea with 70% sugar which was recommended & i really liked it! It was a perfect sweetness & the tea has a floral scent but is light & tastes smooth. Came Wednesday afternoon & there was no line. My friend has waited over an hr at night before which I don't think it's worth it unless I order online & pick up

    Do they accept cash?

Yes at the counter. Think the kiosk are cc only.

    Do they have WiFi?

There was not an open access WiFi network to join. They did have private WiFi, but there aren't any instructions posted anywhere (nor did I ask), so it's unclear if that's only meant for them rather than customers.

Gave it a second chance since Uncle Fung was packed. I'm glad we came back. The service was good and whole experience was not bad. DRINKS: Iced Hojicha Latte, add agave & Sea Salt Foam 4.5/5 $9.25. Liked it, but slightly too sweet. It was okay after I added more ice later. Ended up combining leftover Hojicha & coffee together. Tastes pretty good. This drink got pretty expensive. Didn't realize the Sea Salt Foam was $1.25 extra. Thought it was free (came with the drink) when the cashier asked which sweetener & cold foam I would like. Hot Latte, Add Vanilla Syrup 4.25/5 $6.50. The matcha itself was pretty weak and a bit flat, missing that rich, earthy depth you'd hope for, so overall it just fell a little meh. The sesame cream added a nice richness, but didn't bring much of that distinct nutty sesame flavor and mostly just tasted creamy. That said, the space is beautiful. It's clean and minimalist with lots of natural wood, high ceilings, and an open, airy layout. There's plenty of seating, making it a great spot to work, study, or just hang out. I'd still be open to coming back and giving it another try, maybe the double matcha will hit better next time.

It's nestled in a little plaza with minimal parking. Luckily, we went on a weekday and there were at least 2 parking spots open. The shop itself is small-- as soon as you enter, the register is right there with the self service kiosk to the left and the waiting area to the right. Even though there was only 1 party ahead of us, it took around 15-20 minutes to get our drinks. But I'll give them the benefit of the doubt since we ordered a lot of drinks. For myself, I was able to try the traditional roasted oolong milk tea with pearl and the hojicha latte-- both at 70% sweet. I have a sweet tooth, so the sweetness was at a perfect level for both. However, I didn't get that much of a strong roasted oolong taste in the milk tea as I've gotten from other boba shops. The hojicha latte was good enough, but also did not have that strong, nutty taste in comparison to others. I am more of a milk tea person, but maybe next time I'll try the honey osthamnthus tea since a lot of people seem to love it!

It was the fastest I have ever got a drink, he was so on top of things. I hope the owners are reading this and really consider rewarding top employees like him. I got the viral Pear and Matcha drink, which was surprisingly really good. I wasn't sure at first about how it was going to taste, but that secret pear syrup did the trick lolol. The drink itself is $5.99, plus $2.00 for the oat milk, so it came to over $9+. They honestly should consider lowering the oat milk to $1.00 cuz $2.00 is higher than other places, so then you're basically paying $10+ for boba.
