I got the Pu-Erh Fresh Milk tea with HongXuan Tea Jelly & adjustments: 80% sweet and 30% ice. The tea was just enough sweet for me and had a really nice refreshing taste. I wish I got to drink the milk tea with smaller straw because it would make the flavors more fragrant. Tea Jelly was fun to eat and not overpowering the drink. I tried a little bit of the peach oolong and the peach flavor was too overpowering for my preference. There is plenty of seating indoor with nice nearby stores too. Easy ordering system at the kiosk and very cute store interior. It did take a while for our order to come out because other people did large online orders. It took about 20 minutes, so it wasn't too packed.

This new trendy tea shop opened in the San Gabriel Valley not too long ago and it has been trending! I really love their drink and their oolong tea is strong in taste. I had to wait around 30 minutes for my drink, but there were a lot of people so it was understandable. They open pretty late especially on the weekends and have a good amount of seating so it is a nice late night hangout spot for you and your friends! I will definitely be coming back to try more drinks! Guiji Promo: Right now until August 15th if you buy a drink you will get your second drink for only $1! This offer only applies during their last hour

Really wanted to love it as I loved the spot, the ambiance, and the warm service despite the extreme business. Online pre-order was super easy and I could just easily swing by for pickup. Nonetheless, the tea just didn't nail it to my liking. Subtle flavor despite we picked the favorite 33 King Oolong's Milk Tea. Would expect bold deep roast tea :(

A popular boba chain from Taiwan! This is located at the remodeled plaza now called TAWA Plenty of parking available Indoor is a lot bigger than I thought with a few tables to sit. I came to try their new special drink: the pu-er milk tea. It was okay. I usually drink just the tea itself but it's an interesting taste with milk. I would try their other flavors next time instead!

While wandering around Tawa Plaza, I hopped into here for a drink. The space is clean with various seatings inside and outside. There's two kiosk where you can order from where a screen will show when your drinks are ready. We got the Jade Green Tea ($4.99) and Wintermelon Oolong Tea ($6.99). The drinks are super refreshing and I liked how tea forward it is. The pricing is not too bad either with the larger size being just a dollar more. Between these drinks, the wintermelon is sweeter compared to the jade green, but both delicious.

This Taiwanese tea chain has been a great addition to the SGV. It is located in a super busy shopping center with plenty of parking all around. What I like most is that their teas taste natural and freshly brewed. There are 2 ordering kiosks - super convenient and easy to use. They also have TV screens showing which orders are ready and which ones are in progress. I have never waited any longer than 15 minutes for my drinks. My husband and I both really like the Pu-Erh Milk Tea, which has a smooth, clean taste. It pairs perfectly with the coconut jelly topping. Some other drinks I would recommend are the 33 King's Oolong Milk Tea and Grapefruit Green Tea. It is nice that they offer free wifi here. It seems like this place is more of a grab-and-go type of place rather than a study or hangout place. There is plenty of beach seating, but only a few small tables and chairs.

I recently visited Guiji, the famous Taiwanese tea chain known for its authentic, full-bodied teas and premium oolong milk drinks. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and they suggested 50% sweetness for our drinks. I ordered the 33 Kings Oolong Milk Tea ($7.00), which is marketed as having a strong tea flavor profile. Unfortunately, my wife and I found the tea flavor to be quite light, and ironically, the sweetness was overpowering. While I'd likely skip the 33 Kings Oolong Milk Tea next time, I'm still interested in returning to try one of their signature fruit teas. Overall, Guiji is worth checking out if you're looking for a new tea spot.

Excellent boba, strong tea flavor. I haven't had Guiji before and was pleasantly surprised by how good the tea is. I got the 33 oolong and the winter melon tea. Both were excellent. The drinks took a while to be made even though there were only a few parties ahead of me. Will return again!

I didn't know they were in this plaza, but one of my friends mentioned this place to me so I decided to go try it out! Their location is in a popular plaza that has plenty of parking. I love the aesthetic of their shop! I think it's really clean and organized. I do wish that they had more tables though. We don't really interact with the servers. I've tried both their jasmine and oolong milk teas, and I enjoyed both of them! Refreshing tea taste with a good amount of milk to balance it out. I also like their boba (it's a bit smaller than the usual size? but it's not mini pearls). Overall, I'd come back here :)

Came on a Sunday evening due to a friend's suggestion and there was almost no one around. Easy parking since it's in a plaza and there are plenty of outdoor seats available. Clean aesthetic on the inside and a good amount of seating too. There's 2 kiosks but I ended up ordering with staff at the counter. I got the 33 King's Oolong Milk and enjoyed it. With no adjustments, the tea flavor was strong enough for me and I was happy with the amount of sugar. Service was fast as there was no one else in the store. I can see myself coming back to try another drink.

Got the jasmine milk tea, 33 oolong milk tea. They were just alright compared to other boba shops nearby. Interior is pretty cool with some seating area inside and outside. Service was good, didn't have to wait too long at all!

Wanted to try this place because it seemed pretry new. There was about 2 people in front before ordering. And there was a bogo deal. Didnt think itd take long but boy was i wrong. After placing the order, i realized it was only at 578 and we were 616 so it was almost 40 orders in front of us. It took about 40 minutes for our drinks to come out as well. Was not expecting that since it wasnt even packed inside.. i wishes there was wait times cause if i knew itd be that long, i couldve gone to other boba shops nearby. I got the puer with fresh milk and even though it was bogo it eas definitely not worth the wait. Ill come back to try other drinjs when the wait isnt crazy. Lots of parking because its focus plaza. This is near what used to be the fountain, close to daiso and 99 ranch.

    Tony Y.

I ordered through the kiosk and was honestly surprised by how expensive the drinks were. I got a large 33 Kings Milk Tea with 30% sweetness and less ice, which cost about $9. I waited around 15 minutes, only to be let down by how watered down the drink was. It tasted like watered-down milk, and I could hardly taste the tea. I took the cup sealing off and the drink looked completely pale and milky, with barely any tea color. The boba was also flavorless and really only added texture. Needless to say, I was pretty disappointed, so I walked to the nearby Wushiland and waited another 15 minutes for boba lol

They opened and closed the door for us which was a nice touch because it was busy inside. We ordered the pork ramen, pork buns, and pork soup dumplings. On to the food! Pork Ramen: 3/5 They give you a hefty amount of noodles and pork. They use a thin noodle here which pairs well with the broth. I truly do believe this was around average for ramen as the flavor in the broth was not as strong or savory. The highlight of the entire entree was definitely the pork, which was tender and flavorful. I probably would not order this again. Pork bun: 5/5 The pork buns were soft and fluffy, almost too good looking to eat. There was the right amount of soup and meat inside that made for a wonderful bite full of flavor. Not dry at all. Would recommend ordering this if you visit. Pork Dumplings: 5/5 The star of the show, the dumplings. They were soft and just like the buns, they had the right amount of soup + meat which made for a delicious bite every time. My toddler even ate some and she's usually super picky about meat. Overall, I'd definitely recommend coming here for the other noodles, the dumplings, and buns. You can skip on the ramen. I would 100% come back here to dine in. Quick note that parking gets full pretty quick here.

Soup and tendon can be a bit salty on its own but when you add the soup with the noodles, the noodles soak up the flavor very well and the soup mellows out. My husband ordered D1 and the regular beef was soft and had a good, evenly distributed flavor throughout the meat. Husband said he did not find the noodle soup salty and he's also on the lighter side of flavor profile like me. Beef roll: ordered this since the pics on yelp showed them rolled very evenly with filling. A little expensive, it could be a meal price, but the amount could also be a meal. Every Taiwanese person in LA and the West Coast probably had a 2 degree of separation with everyone else. And so like the Italians, you needed family restaurants to congregate at, and Aghoo precisely is that type of restaurant where Taiwanese Boomers and their children go sit down and have comfort food. This is a school of cooking that many chefs from Mainland China simply cannot replicate today. And there were only a few restaurants in Los Angeles 30 years ago capable of doing it: Happy Family Garden Pacific Plaza 新園餐館, Dumpling King 老夫子 Hacienda Heights Vons Plaza, Sin Bala 新芭樂 Arcadia, and Din Tai Fung 鼎泰豐 Arcadia Location One. That being said, I've always wanted to go back to Taiwan and apprentice under an old school chef and learn this school of stir-fry, you know, carry on the torch. Unlike Italian food, you can't premake Lasagna, Meatballs, marinara sauce and just assemble everything last minute with fresh cooked pasta. No, Taiwanese stir fry is bittersweet hard labor....very mechanical in nature, and the chef needs to understand all the inputs. So these days, Jurassic Restaurant has closed, Uncle Yu's 印第安啤酒屋 had shut down. Leaving.....Aghoos? And yes, Eat Joy in Rowland Heights. Come to think about it, if you take out Din Tai Fung from the picture, these are the last of the Mohicans..... I'll end here with my walk down memory lane. You want the Taiwanese version of that Italian style Family sit down restaurant, this is it. This is where you will find all the Taiwanese Aunties and Uncles that probably own 10,000 shares of TSMC, 30,000 shares of NVDA, and Jensen Huang eating quietly in the corner.

Came for lunch recently, and tried 3 dishes: Green onion…read moresesame pie: good portion, but the inside felt undercooked and it was a bit lacking in flavor. House Special Bean Curd: Normally love this dish, and while the flavor was good, the tofu is actually cut too thin so it lacked any chew (or QQ). Fried Red Yeast Pork Belly: Wanted to try something interesting and new, and this was a fun choice. Very interesting and also heats back up well in an oven. Service was friendly. I can't help but feel like they could optimize their table layout a lot better, and perhaps bring in an additional server - there ends up being a very long wait for 2-4 person groups. I watched as some groups ended up changing their order to go because they had waited so long. Street parking outside.

COVID-19: Social distancing is not enforced at this establishment. Some of the staff wears a mask…read more All customers are not expected to wear a mask. It's optional now. The staff also wears gloves when handling food. There are some hand sanitizers available for customers to use. This place is available for take outs and has no indoor & outdoor seating available with limited capacity. They are only doing To Go orders. They are not sanitizing in between customers. COVID-19 Vaccination Proof: This establishment currently does not require proof of vaccination. While I was grabbing my food from this establishment last month, I asked if they had any special offers and they weren't offering any at the moment. They currently don't have happy hour. They also do not allow pets in their establishment UNLESS it's a service animal. Parking: The parking lot for this establishment is pretty big. They do share the lot with several other establishments. The lot doesn't really get busy, so you shouldn't have any problems with finding parking. I did notice that some spots are smaller than others. Food: I ordered a mild spicy popcorn chicken and minced bowl/ plate. The popcorn chicken was very flavorful, crunchy, tender, and juicy. Big portion for like $10. The Taiwanese seasoning mix brought me right back to the night markets to Taiwan. It's truly the 5 spice powder that hits the spot. The batter wasn't thick, so the chicken didn't taste very battery/ cakey. That's what I hate about some places that make popcorn chicken. It also wasn't too spicy for me. It was just right. I ordered the minced bowl, which is actually a plate. For like $12, it was actually pretty good and the portions was huge. The boiled / blanched cabbage and broccoli were soft, sweet, and tasty. I could taste the sesame oil on it. It wasn't salty. The sweet corn and diced juicy tomatoes combo was good too. The boiled tea egg was pretty delicious. You can actually taste the tea and soy sauce. The egg was nice and soft. And now, for the braised minced pork. The pork was very delicious and it just melted in my mouth. I love that there were some fatty pieces of pork too in the dish. It balanced out some of the pieces of pork, which had too much meat in it. Definitely a very savory and rich dish. Omg and the sauce from the braised minced pork drizzled over the rice was just so perfect! It made the rice extremely delectable. This is hands down one of my favorite Taiwanese dishes, and it was made perfectly. Staff: The staff here are very friendly, welcoming, and kind. They are closing this restaurant down in February 2026 due to rising rent and the landlord's unwillingness to upgrade the place. So sad. I'm seriously upset to see this place go. They accept both cash and credit cards. There is a $20 credit card minimum.

I've only had their drinks and popcorn chicken in the past, which were decent. I called in a pickup order and the food was ready in about ten minutes. As of 12/06/25, they currently do not offer dine in and are only doing takeout. I ordered the Railroad Pork Chop, which is the traditional Taiwanese style where the chop is marinated and grilled or pan seared instead of fried. It came with rice and two veggie sides, and everything tasted fresh. The pork chop was flavorful and tender, and the marinade went perfectly with the rice. Overall, a pretty solid meal and I would definitely come back for it again. Not many places still make the railroad style pork chop like this, so it's worth trying if you're a fan.

SinBala - Arcadia…read more SinBala is one of the rare Taiwanese restaurants that has stood the test of time. I grew up eating here. There used to be several locations across Southern California, and I'm glad the Arcadia location is still here. Every visit brings back memories. I come for the Taiwanese classics that are becoming harder to find. The popcorn chicken is still one of my favorites--crispy, fragrant, and seasoned the way Taiwanese street vendors do it. The Taiwanese meatball soup is comforting, and the Taiwanese sausage always reminds me of night markets back home. What I appreciate most is that SinBala doesn't just serve street food. It brings those familiar flavors into a warm, home-style setting. It's nostalgic without trying too hard. Before you leave, save room for dessert. Their shaved ice is a must. I always recommend the brown sugar shaved ice topped with five mochi or boba. It's refreshing, not overly sweet, and the perfect ending to a meal. Taiwanese food is often overshadowed by other regional Chinese cuisines, but places like SinBala remind me how unique it really is. Simple, comforting, and full of character. I'm grateful this little piece of Taiwan is still here.

A bit sweeter than my preference but maybe cuz I put condensed milk on it as one of the toppings. The grass jelly shaped firm and nice cubes so possible it's from a can as opposed to in house. Sausage I had as well not the best I've had but traditional flavor and served with lots of garlic on the side (wahoo!)
