Chun Yang Tea is a small shop in a busy plaza. There wasn't any parking since all the other businesses had taken up spots for visitors and employees. There was a steady stream of people coming and leaving at all times. We ordered from the self serve kiosk. We waited 20 minutes for our drinks when there were only 3 people ahead of us. The drinks were watered down in comparison to other places despite being less ice for two drinks. The hojicha latte with brown sugar pearls is only available on weekends. The tea taste and milk didn't mesh together well. Oolong tea with pudding also tasted more like water than tea. The pudding was overwhelming. It is similar (if not the same) as ones you get from japanese convenience stores. For the price point, I would have expected berger taste and quality. The wait wasn't worth it for what was being served. I don't think I'd come back to this location but might give it another try elsewhere.
Can't believe I've never tried this place despite eating in the plaza at Nha Trang! It was really hot today, and I was feeling some fruit tea and decided to check out the store. I didn't realize that the inside was so much bigger because the windows outside make it look very small. There's a bench for seating and it's largely a waiting room area. Ordering was very easy through an iPad and you had many different choices, including the free option for lactose free milk, soy milk, and almond milk. No extra charge! The staff were very nice and friendly! It's such a neat space and I have sometimes flip-flop between a milk, tea, a fruit tea, and a smoothie. Luckily this location has all three options. There's also a restroom for customers.
Decided to try this boba spot after seeing so many good reviews. I tend to resort to Chicha San Chen or Molly Tea when I'm around this area, but wanted to try something new. It's nestled in a little plaza with minimal parking. Luckily, we went on a weekday and there were at least 2 parking spots open. The shop itself is small-- as soon as you enter, the register is right there with the self service kiosk to the left and the waiting area to the right. Even though there was only 1 party ahead of us, it took around 15-20 minutes to get our drinks. But I'll give them the benefit of the doubt since we ordered a lot of drinks. For myself, I was able to try the traditional roasted oolong milk tea with pearl and the hojicha latte-- both at 70% sweet. I have a sweet tooth, so the sweetness was at a perfect level for both. However, I didn't get that much of a strong roasted oolong taste in the milk tea as I've gotten from other boba shops. The hojicha latte was good enough, but also did not have that strong, nutty taste in comparison to others. I am more of a milk tea person, but maybe next time I'll try the honey osthamnthus tea since a lot of people seem to love it!
A great new to me milk tea place that impressed me as someone who doesn't really love milk teas / boba. I know. It's almost sacrilegious as an Asian. LOL. Friendly staff who helped me with questions about the drinks. They make their milk teas with non-dairy creamer, and for the latte drinks you have milk options including regular milk, lactose-free milk, soy, or oat. Wide variety of drink options and toppings. Adjustable ice (for cold drinks) and sweetness levels. The drink quality was superb. Very fresh, expertly and carefully crafted. Maximal flavor. Clean store. Small strip mall parking. I'll definitely be back!
Parking can be a bit difficult but you can park at the lot next to it if you're not planning to stay long. I got the sugar cane green tea with less ice and 30% sweetness. This is perfect for my taste on a hot day. My cousin got the orange mountain tea that has a piece of orange inside. She think it could be better. Overall, it's a good place for a refreshing drink.
I love coming back to Chun Yang Tea. The Osmanthus Honey Oolong Tea and its milk tea equivalent are unlike any other. It's fragrant, sweet, subtle and not overly steeped. I usually opt for 30% or 50% sugar and it's perfect. My parents also love this spot for the quality of teas. If you're looking for a tea shop that specializes in oolong tea, this is it. The staff are sweet and prepare drinks out promptly too. Parking can be a pain because of the narrowness but I've always had luck finding parking along the streetside.
I was excited when I heard chun yang from Taipei was opening - it's a solid go to in Taipei. The one in LA had tea lattes which included fresh milk which I appreciate. You can taste the tea and the boba is chewy. The workers brought the drinks out very fast. One thing I wish they had though was seating. The store has no seating inside it's just a place to order and grab a drink.

This feels like a neighborhood shop-- the type where they remember your order and welcome you with cheer. If I lived closer, I think I'd be here every week! Their tea is really, really good. I got the honey osmanthus latte at their recommendation and it was so delicious. Also their grass jelly is silky smooth. The shop is small and shares a parking lot with other stores in a corner plaza. I opted to park in the neighborhood and walk over instead of fighting for parking.
I got the roasted oolong latte with boba at 70% sugar. This was good but definitely a bit too sweet, I wish I opted for 50% maybe even 30%. I believe the boba is also honey boba so it added to the sweetness even more. The drink was nutty and sweet, and boba was soft and chewy, only thing I would change is the sweetness level.

There was nearby street parking so I just parked on the street and just walked there, which was less than a minute away! Menu has a good variety of tea and tea lattes. Pricing was reasonable and most drinks were $6-$7. Toppings range from $0.75-$1.25+ Inside was very small so don't expect any tables but there is a bench to wait for your order. Definitely not an ideal study spot! Got the Osmanthus Honey Oolong Tea ($6.79) with 2 toppings (tapioca mochi - +$0.95 & green tea jelly - +$0.85). Ordered online but there's also the option to order using the kiosk inside. Got my drink 30% sugar with less ice. It was still too sweet but it was very refreshing. The tea flavor tasted strong and I could tell it was freshly brewed & good quality tea. The tapioca mochi was so delicious and chewy! The green tea jelly was fresh and tasty. Overall, this drink was 8/10 Would definitely return to try their other drinks and recommend!
Before you head back to work during lunch or before you run errands, get this drink! It's so fun to sip on! I'm here often just for the Mango Cheese Smoothie. Its got a mango puree with cheese froth and green tea gelatin. I love it so much! Service is quick and easy, but, you must take your drink to-go. There are benches so you can wait for your drink, but no actual seating to lounge.
Im giving 5 stars because suppose to rate the taste and quality and this place deserves that. Parking is pretty awful probably ranks almost most worse of any parking lot I experienced. Then many people end up double parking. This is the standard of certain developers in the past and sometimes in the present you may see shopping centers with limited parking number of spaces, because parking spaces don't make money unless you charge people for spaces. Anyways, the drinks and tea taste is wholesome and true. Be careful though if you ask for less ice it's almost kinda like added water?? just my opinion or maybe my imagination. Drinks take a little more longer to make at this place for some reason but you leave with a satisfying taste.

I arrived at Chun Yang Tea (San Gabriel) on Monday (around 6:34pm). Parking is frustrating, difficult, and cramped. I felt fortunate finding a spot in the busy, tiny private parking lot. This business is extremely difficult to find if not actively searching since its exterior is very plain. Upon entering, I was immediately greeted with kind smiles. There was no line this evening. Guests can order from a nearby self-service kiosk. Staff was brilliant & exemplary. I had a rare moment where staff actually volunteered to approach me and give me a sample of the 0% sweetness; they recommended it since its honey was already fairly sweet. Staff brought a bright smile as they explained their drink. My order took five minutes and five seconds. Fairly quick. As mentioned, I enthusiastically enjoyed the Osmanthus Honey Oolong Tea ($5.99 - Less Ice - 0% Sweetness). I happily sipped its crisp, fresh tea. I flowed along its soft notes of honey and gentle, silky liquid. It's not bitter nor burnt; rather, it carried a light cuddly sweetness that shared a brief happy hug. "Delicious!" Concerning ambiance, Chun Yang Tea (San Gabriel) is very clean, sleek, and attractive. The location's interior is small, but it's decorated humbly & tastefully. Everything felt well-maintained and very clean which is unusual in small order-and-exit locations with such a hidden location. This small business had no tables; there's only one long bench for seating. This location also has fresh ventilation, relaxing upbeat music, and one gender neutral restroom. Overall, Chun Yang Tea (San Gabriel) is a must try. I left breathless with a spectacular, memorable experience. It's humbling how something so magical can be so hidden. 5 out of 5. Go!
It is always a treat when I get to have Chun Yang Tea! I wish they'd open one in Orange County. There are so many drinks that I like from here, but my current favorites are: Mango Coconut Sago ($7.29), Lychee Oolong ($5.99), Kumquat Lemon ($6.59), and Lemon Green Tea with Green Tea Jelly ($5.99). I love that they have an online ordering system that does not charge extra fees. I still hate that this is located in a very limiting parking lot. There is often no parking space available, so it's best to come with someone else so that they can wait in the car while you run in to grab the drinks. read more

Tried plenty of tea shops in the 626, but Chun Yang is still one of my favorite! As an oolong tea lover, their Osmanthus Honey Oolong Tea Latte ($6.79) is my go to. I usually ask for less ice and 0% percent sugar since it's already sweetened with honey. The oolong is fragrant, smooth and tastes high quality, making every sip a treat. This drink instantly brightens my day. The staff are friendly and ordering from the self-service kiosk makes it quick and easy. It's definitely a grab and go spot. The only downside is that the shop is tucked toward the back of the plaza, somewhat hidden and parking can be difficult during busy times. I usually have better luck finding street parking. With so many tea shops popping up, Chun Yang continues to be one of my tried and true favorites- a perfect fusion of traditional and modern. read more

I've tried various drinks here and honestly a solid spot for tea! my go to for this spot is anything Osmanthus, oolong, or mountain tea + their tapioca mochi topping! Not a lot of places have this tapioca mochi topping besides Odd One or Toro Tea so it's nice to have the option here. read more
Came back and got the osmanthus oolong tea again at 30% sugar. Service was quick and we used the kiosk to place the order. There wasn't much people inside so we could sit at the bench by the wall. We also tried the pineapple oolong tea and it was an odd taste. It didn't really taste like pineapple at all. I wouldn't recommend (2/5). read more
Recommended by my partner during our date on a hot day, this boba shop is located in the back of a plaza in SGV, although a moderate size parking lot, it can fill out pretty quickly. The shop is small with no tables, only benches inside & outside, it could get pretty cramped in the shop since it was pretty busy when we arrived. It's always nice to have a boba shop that has kiosk ordering & ordering via register. They have plentiful of menu options including specialties in oolong teas. Cups are a huge factor for me when reviewing drink shops and Chun Yang Tea is definitely on the higher quality side of cups. They're sturdy, cute design, and no spills. My partner and I waited about 15 minutes for our drink during peak hours which is pretty quick. Highly recommend to order online ahead of time to skip waiting times. read more
Solid boba spot in the SGV. I have tried several different drinks from here and all were pretty good. My favorite is the Osmanthus Honey Oolong Tea, which is also one of their top/most popular drinks. I highly recommend it if you are looking for a something refreshing. For a milky drink, you can't go wrong with any of the tea lattes. Every time I've been here, it was pretty crowded. There are two options for ordering: from a kiosk or at the register. Don't be surprised if there's a bit of a wait to get your drinks. It is recommended to shake your drinks well before consuming. This is a very small store with minimal seating. There are only benches to sit on, no tables. read more
10/10! yes! i don't usually reach for a mango sago smoothie but this place did such a great job with this drink. real mangoes, refreshing coconut milk, and plentiful sago. i will say it's on the sweeter side but i appreciated this drink so much on a hot summer day read more

Power tip: a small but nice shop at a very busy plaza, next to a couple of my favorite businesses. Menu has a nice variety, but not too overwhelming. After a couple visits there, I realize that I like the black tea latte with 50% sugar. It's very nice that changing the ice and alternative milk options do not cost extra, like many of the other special tea places. Having a reward program is a nice bonus. Looks like I found a new place to be loyal to :D read more

Some of the best tea I've had in SGV! Come here if you are really looking to enjoy the flavor of oolong. I got the oolong osmanthus honey oolong tea with green tea jelly with 50% sweet as recommended to me by the sweet front desk girl. She told me the drinks run very sweet so I am glad I listened to her advice! The jelly was great and I could really taste the oolong in the tea. It was amazing. They have a ton of different flavors and toppings so I will definitely have to come back to try some more. You order at a kiosk but there is also someone at the front to help you and she let us try some flavors and gave us recommendations. There isn't much seating but you don't need any for a boba place! read more

refreshing teas and delicious flavors! this spot has a smalll parking lot and small storefront but it's more of a to go spot. they have a kiosk you could order from and a small seating area to wait for your drink. i got the wintermelon fresh milk, i liked how they had a lactose free milk option!! the wintermelon flavor was good!!! drink can be a bit sweeter but you can adjust the sweetness :) i loved the wintermelon mountain tea with tea jelly, ill be getting that next time read more
For the anti social, there is an option for easy self ordering kiosk or pay at the cashier. Quiet hidden boba shop at the end of the complex. There are alternative milk options, including lactose free milk for the sensitive bellies. I ordered the matcha latte with brown sugar pearl, which is only available on the weekend. The matcha is very light. Didn't taste much of it. It tasted more of a brown sugar milk tea. The boba is soft and fresh. read more
Literally a hidden gem. Tucked away in the back of the strip mall, those that know, know. I was introduced by a friend and needless to say, i will be doing the same for others. Quality of drinks here are top notch. Surprised it's taken me this long to realize we had a boba spot in this location. Parking is limited but possible. I got the passion fruit green tea with boba and wow, they were not cheap when it came to adding topping. I absolutely loved the ratio of tea and boba, and I for sure would come back. I think the only thing you'd have to do is figure out what sugar level is good for u. Also, there is a lot of parking, so you won't have to worry about that. Everytime I went, it wasn't crowded either. There are seats, but there are no tables so this isn't a place where people sit and get their work done. read more
I absolutely love it here. Chun Yang Tea uses premium quality ingredients and am particularly a fan of their Oolong Tea Drinks. They also offer your classic black and green teas, milk teas, fruit teas. Order using the kiosk or with one of the staff members at the store. Employees are helpful. The tea shop itself is simplistic and clean. Busy place but they try and move quickly to expedite your order. The overall store setup promotes "takeout only" ;however, there's a couple of benches you can sit at and sip your drink. I wanna say it's a "cashless" payment tea shop spot only;however, I usually like to use cash and they were accommodating, so maybe they take both:cash and card, but I think prefer cashless transactions. Parking is tight in the plaza that shares spaces with Nha Trang and other businesses- street parking might be easier to get in and out quickly. read more

I'm happy they opened a new location in the 626. The tea was good with no bitterness, though I wish the flavor were a bit stronger. The fruit pieces were fresh, but I'd probably still prefer Yifang's fruit tea. The boba was chewy, just as expected. My biggest complaint is the parking, it's probably the tiniest lot I've ever seen. Service was friendly but quite slow, so I'd recommend ordering ahead online. All in all, the flavors are authentic and worth trying! read more
Polite quick service. Was looking for all the boba places near Pasadena and this place showed up in my search when I discovered they have Papaya Milk which I could only have in Taipei. I have tried finding it in many places but I couldn't until now. It was a fresh smoothie taste good. This place is a 100% legit with their teas. Got a wide range of Wintermelon and sugarcane drinks. Would definitely recommend this place and try to go there again to try some of their other drinks. It is a spacious place with wooden benches till your drinks are being made. read more
Updated Rating: 9.3/10 Since my last review, bf and I have come so many times this past summer! Every time we have it, we fall more and more in love with it. So refreshing, not too sweet, and the sunny and sweet flavor of the mango is complemented by the coconut and texture of the chewy sago. This is my FAVORITE tea place in socal. They have the best honey osmanthus tea, I just wish it was closer to my place. Def better than other popular tea franchises like Molly Tea. Make sure to order your honey osmanthus tea at 30% sweetness with their signature tapioca jelly! Tapioca jellies are sooo good, they can't be compared to bobas. read more

Tea flavor is really prominent. It was my first time and I really appreciated the barista letting me know about the sugar levels! She also let me try a little bit before making the drink and allowed me to adjust my drink down to 0% from 70%. More of a grab and go spot but super yummy with great service. read more

I drink a lot of tea / milk tea drinks but I just found out about this place recently! Ordered: Honey Osmanthus Tea, 50% sweet, + grass jelly. Echoing everyone's comment that the tea is really fragrant/fresh. Love the osmanthus bits. The only thing is I'd probably order the lowest sweetness next time. In comparison to other places I would say the 50% here is 100% somewhere else. Service: There is a person at the register & a self service kiosk. Drink came out quick, less than 5 mins. Ambiance: Just a few benches against the wall, no tables. I think they could add some tables/cute seating to prompt people to stay & chat & make it feel more lively. Place was super clean read more
