The tea itself was really good, but we also don't get too many water refills. The help you the first time, the water stays hot by your side to refill yourself we were able to get two pots each. The food came out on a little rack, so presentation was great. However, the food was just ok; it was basically boxed items you could buy in the store up front, but tasted just average. It was also heavily sweet, so we kind of wished we'd eaten first. However, that osmanthus tea jelly was amazing. Highlight of the whole tea! Their tea rooms are exquisite, and are inspired by traditional Chinese tea houses. I felt like I was in a high end jade shop, and interestingly enough, they have a teapot museum in the middle of the large establishment. In addition to selling loose leaf teas and tea ceremony cupware, they also offer afternoon tea service as well as a few select individual teas/milk teas that are brewed-to-order. I opted for the 913 King's oolong tea and the Cassia milk tea from their iced tea collection. Both drinks were smooth and mellow. The 913 king oolong tea is a signature blend of oolong with ginseng. It was vibrant in color and had a lovely sweet floral taste. My favorite of the two was the cassia milk tea, which was a little on the richer side with a malty flavor profile. Came last week to hang out with a friend and finally try the tea experience at Chaffee | Ten Fu's & Ten Ren's Tea Boutique. It's located upstairs in Camellia Square Shopping Plaza, right by the iconic floating teapot fountain. Walking inside felt like stepping into a traditional Chinese tea house. The space is beautifully designed with elegant décor, display cases filled with various teapots, and an impressive wall of teas available for purchase. We were led to a quiet semi-private room featuring gorgeous mahogany and cherry elm wood tables and chairs, intricate carvings, abalone inlays, and beautifully crafted wooden partition panels separating the rooms. Our room also had views overlooking a portion of Rosemead Blvd. and a nearby side street. I did have to wait a little before being greeted, but it appeared the staff member was assisting other guests in the back, so it was understandable. The menu offered a wide variety of teas to choose from, and we each selected our own pot. Alongside the tea came a beautifully presented assortment of traditional Chinese tea snacks. Everything was thoughtfully arranged, and the staff explained the proper steeping times for the first, second, and third infusions. An electric kettle maintained the perfect water temperature throughout our visit, allowing us to fully enjoy each subsequent brew. The entire experience felt relaxing, elegant, and unhurried--an excellent way to spend an afternoon catching up with a friend. The teas were enjoyable, the setting was stunning, and the service provided a nice introduction to traditional tea appreciation. My only downside was the price. At about $65 per person, I felt the tea snacks didn't quite match the premium cost of the experience. My only note is that the day we went the ice cream was a bit crystallized and the whole dessert was full of tea sediments which I was told is not typical. It is located in the same plaza that has many tasty food options and also a beauty store on the bottom. This place is located on the second floor and it has a super cute interior. I did like some items like the custard taiyaki, but some items such as the spicy peanuts and spicy bean curd were not very good at all. The bean curd in particular was hard and not palatable. The tea selection was good. Each member of your party gets to choose their own tea. I chose the pearl jasmine oolong for myself, but my favorite was the Bai Hao Oolong (Oriental Beauty). Called for a cold 913 kings oolong milk tea half sweet, no ice for pick up. Was told 10 mins which is the perfect amount of time to find parking and come up the stairs to grab it after a long 95° day. It was surprisingly hot, stuffy, and smelled of foul BO when I walked in. No AC, not even a fan. Bad first impression. Drink was not ready at 10 mins so I wait outside, at least there's a breeze and doesn't smell like a gym locker. After a few mins I go back in but it's still not ready, so back outside a second time. Several more mins pass before I go back in and IT'S STILL NOT READY. It's now about 20 mins and the lack of service with zero communication is as bad as the putrid stench. Lady goes to check and said it is ready, so I hold my breath and continue to patiently wait. Guy finally comes out and hands me a HOT drink. He didn't understand a cold drink with no ice should not be hot... The smell is unbearable and it's so hot and stuffy, I rush back outside a THIRD TIME so I can breathe. Drink is finally ready 30 mins after it's been ordered. THIRTY! But the problem with this place is that theres no where to sit (as all the tables are reserved) for those who are just ordering at the counter. So we were relegated to just walking around aimlessly in the front of the store looking at things, while eating our soft serve. We almost felt like we were in the way or just loitering. All their tables were reserved for tea tasting. Problem was, no one was there for that. So why not open the tables up to those who were actually there so we could sit down? Yes theres a lot of interesting teas and tea paraphernalia that they sell here. Good for a tea connoisseur or an avid tea drinker. But for me, everything seemed overpriced. We ordered there chaffagato as well as 2 matcha icecream soft serves. On certain days, like a tuesday, they have a buy one get one half off offer on their soft serve. The orders do come out quickly. Their chaffagato is their 913 kings oolong with a shot of espresso. It is creamy and good. Taste the bitterness od the tea, then that real bitterness of the espresso. But it was good. Their matcha soft serve is bitter as well. They have other drinks available for order also. Such as milk teas, coffees, iced teas and their signature teas. For those who really enjoy traditional teas this is would be a nice experience. But for me (someone looking for a dessert or a sweet treat), its gonna be a hard pass. Chaffee is located on the second floor of the "Floating Kettle" plaza on Las Tunas and Rosemead. When you walk in, you're greeted with many loose leaf teas, tea adjacent ceramics that range from tea sets and other items, and some Taiwanese and Chinese afternoon tea snacks available for purchase. The menu is simple as they focus on bringing you quality tea brewed with real tea leaves and organic milk and non dairy milk alternatives. I usually opt for just pure tea made less sweet because I enjoy the real tea flavors. If you don't like what's on the menu, you can also select any tea from the store to be brewed. Their chrysanthemum is quite good, but as of Jan 2026 they are out of stock! Aside from their teas, they also have a full afternoon tea set which I believe has a minimum of 2 people to order. There's also special tea rooms for folks who reserve the afternoon tea, so it's a great place to bring guests you want to impress, and reminds me of the afternoon tea service spots in Taiwan. They also have some of the best tea soft serves around, with my favorite being their oolong flavor, but they have matcha as well. The store itself is ornately decorated, with high ceilings, lots of lights, and heavy emphasis on Taiwanese and Chinese culture. There's also a small room full of fancy displays of clay, ceramic, and glass tea sets that are also available for purchase. All their staff and their owner are very friendly and have only made me feel welcome the many times I've frequented the store. Parking is plentiful but can be a struggle at peak hours. I had the most amazing Gong fu afternoon tea experience for my birthday here! Gong fu (as referenced on the In Pursuit of Tea website) is "a method of brewing tea with skill, using small vessels and short steeps to infuse a large proportion of leaves." It was my first time having tea served in this method, as I always had British style afternoon tea and never Asian style afternoon tea. Stepping into the establishment, my partner and I were welcomed warmly and serviced immediately once our reservation for the afternoon tea experience was confirmed. We noticed how wonderful the interior was - the amount of beautiful dishware, imported tea, and tea accessories was breathtaking! We were led to a semi-private, large room with 2 tables (the room can be private once the room divider is up). The interior of this room was beautiful as well. Our server /tea curator was very kind and knowledgeable, explaining how the Gong fu tea method worked, explaining the difference between the tea leaves on the menu and what would be best recommended based on our preferences, and pouring our tea frequently throughout our 2 hour stay there. We got the Bai Hao Oolong tea and the 919 Tea King tea. The delicacies served with the tea had a pretty presentation and tasted delicious with our tea pairings! I got the hubby an Oriental Beauty Oolong iced tea latte which was much sweeter with strong honey notes and more floral - it was very nice. The iced tea lattes are plain teas with a cream top which was a thinner cream than most other places but very nice and subtle. They also have regular style milk teas as well as a "Chaffee tea latte" that comes with espresso. The interior almost feels like browsing a museum with all the beautiful tea pots and gifts. They even had an adorable persimmon tea set that I loved haha! This would be a great place for some unique Christmas gifts. Prices for their drinks are reasonable for the area. Their afternoon tea is $65pp so a little steep - and their gifts are a tad pricey as well but seem like one of a kind gifts of good quality. According to the staff helping me (maybe the owner?) it's still the Ten Ren company but with a rebrand to make the name "easier". I visited about 10 mins after they opened for the day and she initially seemed a little put-out that I came in around opening time - but she warmed up a little after I offered to come back later. They seem to still be working out their new opening a bit. They're located on the second floor with stairs on either side - I didn't see any elevators nearby so handicap access may be an issue but it's a large shopping complex so I'd be surprised if there wasn't an elevator somewhere. Parking is a bit of a challenge as this is clearly a popular shopping center and the spaces are also very narrow. The signs above the door still say Ten Fu and Ten Ren with an acrylic banner saying Chaffee so the location may be a little confusing at first if you don't know that they're all the same company lol.
