What a wonderful experience with the family. Great customer service and delicious ice cream. Unique flavors that will please everyone in the bunch.

Stopped by Afters yesterday after eating a late lunch/early dinner. I had the coffee flavored ice cream and the milk & cereal. I love how you can do half & half. It's a cool gas station looking place, and the server was friendly and helpful too. We'll definitely be back!

Still thinking about Afters days after my visit. It's like a scoop of heaven in a cup. Cookie butter flavor topped with Oreo crumbs is simply heavenly! They offer so many tempting flavors (strawberry cookie crunch, milk & cereal, Cookie Monster, etc.), that I was glad they told me in advance I can try samples. Great customer service. Also amazing ice cream. The parkour is outdoors, and super cute. I also appreciate the fact that they have an indoor place you can enjoy after receiving your order. Since it was a rainy evening, we sat indoors and had a great "afters" treat post dinner.

Decided to come here after dinner because our son had been telling us we needed to try it out. Even though there was a long line out the door, it actually moved pretty fast! There was only one person working the counter and serving the whole crowd, but they were definitely hustling. They have a lot of really funky and unique flavors to choose from. We ended up trying the Cookie Monster (served in a donut!) and the Ube. Both were really solid--the ice cream is high quality and definitely explains why this place is so popular. The process is simple: you just pay on the iPad and then grab your ice cream. Definitely a cool spot to check out if you're in Pasadena and looking for a sweet treat!

I came here after a big lunch at Langer's with the parentals or the "elders" as they like to call themselves. My parents are weird! Anyways, they checked into the hotel and want to get some cardio in after a big lunch. I was looking for somewhere for Ice Cream nearby where they were staying. I found Afters which was conveniently located close by. I didn't tell my parents that there was ice cream nearby as I was afraid they would shoot down the idea as they still like to control me. We arrived at Afters to find a cute little ice cream shop in a repurposed gas station. Love the venue! I asked the "elders" if they would like some ice cream, but they politely declined as they were still full from lunch. I'm forever indecisive and asked to try some flavors of ice cream before ultimately deciding on Mint Monster. Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream is my all-time favorite flavor. The sample that I tried was delish. I got a scoop in a cup to-go. I started to take pictures of the ice cream for this review before I could finish taking pictures. My Mother is hovering next to me waiting to pounce on the ice cream. That's why we call her the Seagull! She grabs an extra spoon to sample the ice cream for herself. I told her that I could get her a cup of ice cream, but she's perfectly content with eating mine instead. Before I knew it, Dad wanted some too. Alas, I finally got an opportunity to try my ice cream. It was great, btw! I will definitely be back to try some other flavors. Luckily, the "elders" live in Florida and I'll be taking the wife and son with me next time. They won't refuse their own cup of ice cream and I'll have more to myself.

Fun flavors - seems that a lot of their flavors are based around chunky textured ingredients like cookies and brownies. I enjoyed the ube brownie and Cookie Monster. Good flavors, not too sweet, and the cookie chunks are decent sized. I got the small size, and it looked funny in the waffle cone. It's not that much cheaper than getting ice cream at Salt and Straw, which I think has the better quality when it comes to ingredients.

Delicious ice cream with fun flavors! I usually get the coffee flavor but opted for the salted Oreo and it didn't disappoint. Be mindful that There's plenty of outdoor seating but not a dine in type of shop. Service was quick and the staff was so kind to split my kids milkshake into two cups for us.

my friends and i come here a fair amount of times and i always get the strawberry cookie crunch. it's honestly SO amazing with the small cookie bits. the service is good! they're always friendly and work so fast because they always get a long line at night! the area is SO adorable, i absolutely love the design here and there's a couple of tables and chairs to sit at. such a cute and nicely lit place. you can do street parking since their parking lot only has 3 spots.

Wow!!!!! I got super lucky to have discovered this amazing little ice cream shop while working in Pasadena this week. I have stopped by twice so far... perhaps have time and space in my belly for one more trip!! Huge portions! Incredibly rich and flavorful ice cream, blended with cookies and other sweet things. I met two staffers and both were lovely! No wait. Outdoor seating was clean. Spacious for a small shop. Loved everything about Afters!

I got milk and cereal with fruitty pebble. I was the first to order from my group of friends and they already finished making it but they were nice enough to put on the party hat. They also have donut with ice cream. Looked every good but super sweet at the same time.

Mellow R&B tunes playing against a backdrop reminiscent of the 50's (gas station pumps and all) made this place give me all the feels. We happened to luck out and got there before the rush on a Saturday evening. The employee was so nice and let us sample the flavors we wanted. My family loved it here. We ordered: Mango Sorbet x2 (one with gummy bears that weren't expired!), Cookie Monster, and Jasmine Milk Tea (with Afters Flakes- salted corn flakes). Everyone loved their scoops. Def recommend a try!

    Lisa P.

Overpriced tiny scoop of ice cream for it to taste mediocre. I got chocolate. They were fast but it was unfortunate that they were running out of flavors and had to choose basic chocolate. This location has a cute vintage looking gas station out front and it is outdoor seating only. The workers were fast at serving us.

    Do they have a bathroom?

No, they do not. The location itself is a food-truck type.

Is coffee available? How 'bout decaf?

No coffee drinks whatsoever. They have 3 caffeinated ice creams though: Saigon Coffee, Mocha Almond Fudge, and Jasmine Milk Tea

Did Afters just change the formula of their vegan chocolate chip cookie!? This is my favorite ice cream in the entire world and the last 2 times it has been different 😭

They ran out of the ingredients in their warehouse. There is a shortage for some of the ingredients!

    Are your waffle cones vegan?

    It is not vegan

Do they have any dairy free options?

Yes, mango sorbet and chocolate chip cookie (vegan)

Do they deliver milky bun? I only see it as a side order on Postmates.

The bun has to be separate when it's order online

Do they sell ice cream by the pint?

Yes, they have pints and quarts

    Do they take Apple pay?

    Yes

    Is this place celiac friendly?

I would say no, but I did not ask specifically.

I've…read morespent a lot of time in Egypt myself and seeing that the menu has flavors that you do not get to try anywhere else unless you were in Egypt definitely makes this place really special--and more so as ice cream! I was absolutely blown away with what we picked, they nail the nuanced flavors--very rich and creamy and not too heavy on the stomach, more so refreshing. I would encourage anyone not to be afraid to pick something they've never had and sample flavors you have no clue about, they went above and beyond to sample the flavors as they would be if we ordered them, including the toppings. My friend was absolutely blown away and texted his wife that he needs to bring her here, which I myself definitely plan on returning as well. Staff allowed to sample their unique flavor options. **To note, they offer a few vegan flavors for those with dietary restrictions**. Always a huge plus and positive! The flavors are middle eastern inspired and the details are all listed. My wife and I sampled 2 flavors and we both enjoyed our selections. The flavors are memorable. We happily decided on the Sesame Halve (vegan) & Pistachio Konafa with Chocolate Shell (+$1.00) for myself. The presentation is one of a kind! The topping with the tiny little rose is a nice aesthetic and definitely their trademark. The location offers retro and colorful style seating for 10+ customers if I had to guess . Patio seats are also offered outside. Also, OG Pac-Man arcades are available inside. My wife loved her Sesame Halva and my Pistachio Konafa with Chocolate Shell totally reminded me of a Dubai Chocolate type of vibe with each bite! I try to eat healthy, so having ice cream isn't something I do often, but after my first sample I knew I wouldn't be able to hold back. I ordered a double scoop and got one of the Orange Creamsicle and one of Nut Your Average Scoop. Both were delicious, but the Orange Creamsicle was my favorite. It was a refreshing take on the classic flavor. I especially loved the bits of orange zest sprinkled throughout. The Bronte Sisters. The Jacksons... You win free ice cream on me if you recognize the pattern. Yes, that's right: these are all siblings who have seamlessly worked together in their respective fields. I raise the list to include Mia and Mark Pedersen - the brother and sister team behind the ice creamery Moo Moo Mia with locations in both Montrose and Monrovia. You won't find Mia and Mark bickering or partaking in sibling rivalry; but you WILL find them creating quality, home made ice cream for Angelinos. Mark and Mia made their way from Denmark to Los Angeles in 2009 initially working in a Danish franchise despite both having a background in ice cream-making. When Covid hit in 2020 with its path of destruction to so many businesses; Mark and Mia decided they should cut their losses and create their own company that they can rely on their decision-making and thus Moo Moo Mia was born. Moo Moo Mia strives to produce Grade-A ice cream using crème de la crème ingredients such as milk from Scott Brother Dairy cows (another sibling company where cows roam free on 900 acres and are hormone free producing sensational milk) and offer unique flavor combinations. After a recent poor gelato experience at another LA business; my boyfriend and I decided to reward ourselves with ice cream from Moo Moo Mia on Honolulu in Montrose (this was our second time at this location). Nestled in the charming central Montrose corridor; Moo Moo Mia welcomes with a pastel color wheel façade/signage and a small square footage ice cream shop. When I say 'small'; I genuinely mean small as Moo Moo Mia is tiny with a display case/order counter and a claustrophobic standing room space with a few loose tables outside. This is definitely an "order and get out" establishment. Due to this congestion, Moo Moo Mia felt a bit hectic on both of our visits which always makes one feel guilty to ask for samples in order to not hold up the line. The flavor options at Moo Moo Mia aren't super extensive (there isn't that much to choose from) BUT there do have those unique combinations Mia and Mark boast of with pride. I have sampled a few flavors at Moo Moo Mia such as Honey Lavender (Sweet cream ice cream layered with delicate ribbons of lavender and finished with a touch of raw organic honey - so good with perfect lavender notes!), March flavor of ice cream with Luck Charms marshmallows and Sweet Taro. On our second visit, my boyfriend kept it simple with a single cone ($5.50) of Madagascar Vanilla Bean (Made with imported ground Madagascar vanilla beans) and a kid's cup ($4.25) of March's monthly flavor Coconut Ube for me. Mark and Mia aren't exaggerating about Moo Moo Mia's ice cream as it truly is quite good: creamy, thick and not overly sweet; the texture is perfection. The Honey Lavender holds my heart but the Coconut Ube was also delicious although it tasted of 95% ube with a small 5% after taste of coconut water. Good thing I like Ube! My boyfriend's vanilla was, in his words, "The best vanilla!" and I agree that Moo Moo Mia truly elevates a basic flavor making it extra special. The consensus is that the ice cream is wonderful, no doubt. The customer service at Moo Moo Mia leaves a lot to be desired, however. During both visits the associates were very dry, somewhat curt - although not rude, per se - and are literally only there to get the job done and that's it. Even though this isn't too terrible; it prevents Moo Moo Mia from being a perfect experience. Moo Moo Mia is a delicious and quality option for an ice cream treat that you can truly taste but the lack of numerous flavor options, the teen-tiny shop and the customer service are flaws that keep it from being exceptional. Despite this, Moo Moo Mia is recommended for all ice cream lovers - whether you have a sibling or not!

However, when I spotted this store as I was walking around the area, I had to go. Inside, there were two employees, and fortunately, it was not crowded on a Monday afternoon, so I was helped immediately. I sampled three flavors: Hong Kong Milk Tea with Toasted White Chocolate, Jasmine Milk Tea Almond Stracciatella, and Honey Lavender. Hong Kong Milk Tea with Toasted White Chocolate: This was a special flavor. I LOVE Hong Kong Milk Tea, so I was really excited to try this one. However, I thought the tea flavor was way too strong, and I usually love a strong tea flavor. I really loved the textural element of the toasted white chocolate though. Jasmine Milk Tea Almond Stracciatella: Another special flavor. I also love Jasmine Milk Tea, LOL, so I had to try this as well. Honestly... this had the opposite problem of the Hong Kong Milk Tea ice cream: I could barely taste the jasmine tea flavor! Maybe the almond stracciatella masked the jasmine flavor? In my opinion, jasmine + chocolate don't go well together. Honey Lavender: This is one of their classic flavors, and it was easily the best flavor out of all of them. Incredible balance of honey and lavender!! Loved how floral the lavender flavor was, as if there is too much lavender, it can taste soapy. Luckily, that was not the case. It was so good as the flavors were on-point, it was creamy, and had a perfect amount of sweetness. It's a classic for a reason! I ended up getting a single scoop of the Honey Lavender which came out to $6.95. Honestly, pricey for a single scoop, but the flavor made up for it at least. Still, I don't think I'd go out of my way to go to Salt & Straw because it is pricey. If I am ever nearby, though, I'd probably visit again. They have really unique flavors during their monthly special, but I just hope that they execute them well the next time I visit. If not, the classics are there for a reason, and I'd be interested in trying them as well.

Thank you Nick! I got to sample a handful of flavors... Boston Cream Pie, Sea Salt Caramel, Death By Chocolate, Caramel Macchiato, and Cinnamon. Thanks for the samples! All the flavors were very good except for the Cinnamon which I thought was very light in taste. Since I was driving, I chose an ice cream shake instead of a cup or cone. Caramel Macchiato was my pick! It had a really nice caramel flavor with coffee bean bits. I was slightly disappointed that they didn't pile up the ice cream to the top of the lid. It stopped at the top of the cup. I felt I was shorted some ice cream unfortunately. Hence, 4 stars! Nevertheless, Nick was amazing. His service was fantastic. Wonderful conversation and experience.
