Stopped by Afters yesterday after eating a late lunch/early dinner. I had the coffee flavored ice cream and the milk & cereal. I love how you can do half & half. It's a cool gas station looking place, and the server was friendly and helpful too. We'll definitely be back!

Fun flavors - seems that a lot of their flavors are based around chunky textured ingredients like cookies and brownies. I enjoyed the ube brownie and Cookie Monster. Good flavors, not too sweet, and the cookie chunks are decent sized. I got the small size, and it looked funny in the waffle cone. It's not that much cheaper than getting ice cream at Salt and Straw, which I think has the better quality when it comes to ingredients.

Delicious ice cream with fun flavors! I usually get the coffee flavor but opted for the salted Oreo and it didn't disappoint. Be mindful that There's plenty of outdoor seating but not a dine in type of shop. Service was quick and the staff was so kind to split my kids milkshake into two cups for us.

I came here after a big lunch at Langer's with the parentals or the "elders" as they like to call themselves. My parents are weird! Anyways, they checked into the hotel and want to get some cardio in after a big lunch. I was looking for somewhere for Ice Cream nearby where they were staying. I found Afters which was conveniently located close by. I didn't tell my parents that there was ice cream nearby as I was afraid they would shoot down the idea as they still like to control me. We arrived at Afters to find a cute little ice cream shop in a repurposed gas station. Love the venue! I asked the "elders" if they would like some ice cream, but they politely declined as they were still full from lunch. I'm forever indecisive and asked to try some flavors of ice cream before ultimately deciding on Mint Monster. Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream is my all-time favorite flavor. The sample that I tried was delish. I got a scoop in a cup to-go. I started to take pictures of the ice cream for this review before I could finish taking pictures. My Mother is hovering next to me waiting to pounce on the ice cream. That's why we call her the Seagull! She grabs an extra spoon to sample the ice cream for herself. I told her that I could get her a cup of ice cream, but she's perfectly content with eating mine instead. Before I knew it, Dad wanted some too. Alas, I finally got an opportunity to try my ice cream. It was great, btw! I will definitely be back to try some other flavors. Luckily, the "elders" live in Florida and I'll be taking the wife and son with me next time. They won't refuse their own cup of ice cream and I'll have more to myself.

Milky bun. Honey bun split in half with ice cream. Pressed in waffle maker and added fruity pebbles to ice cream inside

Great hidden spot in Pasadena with amazing ice cream with unique flavors. I had the milky bun which is a honey bun split in half with ice cream in the middle. A hot bun and cold ice cream in the middle. It was amazing. I joked with a friend if epicurean delight and decadence had a baby, this would be it. Very cool ambience as it is an old gas station and service is perfect. Try the Ube ice cream. A must try if you are in Pasadena.

Wow!!!!! I got super lucky to have discovered this amazing little ice cream shop while working in Pasadena this week. I have stopped by twice so far... perhaps have time and space in my belly for one more trip!! Huge portions! Incredibly rich and flavorful ice cream, blended with cookies and other sweet things. I met two staffers and both were lovely! No wait. Outdoor seating was clean. Spacious for a small shop. Loved everything about Afters!

I got milk and cereal with fruitty pebble. I was the first to order from my group of friends and they already finished making it but they were nice enough to put on the party hat. They also have donut with ice cream. Looked every good but super sweet at the same time.

Overpriced tiny scoop of ice cream for it to taste mediocre. I got chocolate. They were fast but it was unfortunate that they were running out of flavors and had to choose basic chocolate. This location has a cute vintage looking gas station out front and it is outdoor seating only. The workers were fast at serving us.

Mellow R&B tunes playing against a backdrop reminiscent of the 50's (gas station pumps and all) made this place give me all the feels. We happened to luck out and got there before the rush on a Saturday evening. The employee was so nice and let us sample the flavors we wanted. My family loved it here. We ordered: Mango Sorbet x2 (one with gummy bears that weren't expired!), Cookie Monster, and Jasmine Milk Tea (with Afters Flakes- salted corn flakes). Everyone loved their scoops. Def recommend a try!

Stopped by on Saturday, 03/22/25. This is a smaller Afters compared to other locations. Got the 2-scoop cup which was $7.95. Got the Saigon Coffee and Mint Monster flavor - so delicious!!!! You can also try out some samples too!

Looking for some late night ice cream? Afters was the only place open! Not my first time there and I got to say it always hits the spot. Quick service and pleasant vibe all around. Super delicious and I will be back!

Ask the Community - Afters Ice Cream

    Do they have a bathroom?

No, they do not. The location itself is a food-truck type.

Is coffee available? How 'bout decaf?

No coffee drinks whatsoever. They have 3 caffeinated ice creams though: Saigon Coffee, Mocha Almond Fudge, and Jasmine Milk Tea

Did Afters just change the formula of their vegan chocolate chip cookie!? This is my favorite ice cream in the entire world and the last 2 times it has been different 😭

They ran out of the ingredients in their warehouse. There is a shortage for some of the ingredients!

    Are your waffle cones vegan?

    It is not vegan

Do they have any dairy free options?

Yes, mango sorbet and chocolate chip cookie (vegan)

Do they deliver milky bun? I only see it as a side order on Postmates.

The bun has to be separate when it's order online

Do they sell ice cream by the pint?

Yes, they have pints and quarts

    Do they take Apple pay?

    Yes

    Is this place celiac friendly?

I would say no, but I did not ask specifically.

They are located in Mills Alley in Pasadena just look for the bright red sign and signage promoting some flavors. We came by after having dinner. The staff greeted us as we walked in. It was empty when we initially arrived then more customers filtered in shortly after. Staff allowed to sample their unique flavor options. **To note, they offer a few vegan flavors for those with dietary restrictions**. Always a huge plus and positive! The flavors are middle eastern inspired and the details are all listed. My wife and I sampled 2 flavors and we both enjoyed our selections. The flavors are memorable. We happily decided on the Sesame Halve (vegan) & Pistachio Konafa with Chocolate Shell (+$1.00) for myself. The presentation is one of a kind! The topping with the tiny little rose is a nice aesthetic and definitely their trademark. The location offers retro and colorful style seating for 10+ customers if I had to guess . Patio seats are also offered outside. Also, OG Pac-Man arcades are available inside. My wife loved her Sesame Halva and my Pistachio Konafa with Chocolate Shell totally reminded me of a Dubai Chocolate type of vibe with each bite! When we arrived, we were the only two there for a few minutes until more people came. We were greeted right away. We walked down a ramp that led us to their selections. It's been a few days since then and we can't stop thinking about coming back. They serve unique Middle-Eastern flavored ice cream. I ordered the Sesame Halva which is their vegan ice cream made of Halva ice cream with sesame & coconut. OMG, I've never tasted anything like this before. I love anything that has a sesame profile. If you like that nutty, sweet, and earthy flavor this one is for you. I could taste the coconut, but it wasn't overpowering. There were also little chunks of halva in there that added a slight bit of sweetness. The texture was similar to cookie dough, but softer. Aside from the taste, I loved the simple presentation of the small rose on top of the scoop. It made it look elegant. As you can tell, I am definitely coming back and highly recommend stopping by.

The Bronte Sisters. The Jacksons... You win free ice cream on me if you recognize the pattern. Yes, that's right: these are all siblings who have seamlessly worked together in their respective fields. I raise the list to include Mia and Mark Pedersen - the brother and sister team behind the ice creamery Moo Moo Mia with locations in both Montrose and Monrovia. You won't find Mia and Mark bickering or partaking in sibling rivalry; but you WILL find them creating quality, home made ice cream for Angelinos. Mark and Mia made their way from Denmark to Los Angeles in 2009 initially working in a Danish franchise despite both having a background in ice cream-making. When Covid hit in 2020 with its path of destruction to so many businesses; Mark and Mia decided they should cut their losses and create their own company that they can rely on their decision-making and thus Moo Moo Mia was born. Moo Moo Mia strives to produce Grade-A ice cream using crème de la crème ingredients such as milk from Scott Brother Dairy cows (another sibling company where cows roam free on 900 acres and are hormone free producing sensational milk) and offer unique flavor combinations. After a recent poor gelato experience at another LA business; my boyfriend and I decided to reward ourselves with ice cream from Moo Moo Mia on Honolulu in Montrose (this was our second time at this location). Nestled in the charming central Montrose corridor; Moo Moo Mia welcomes with a pastel color wheel façade/signage and a small square footage ice cream shop. When I say 'small'; I genuinely mean small as Moo Moo Mia is tiny with a display case/order counter and a claustrophobic standing room space with a few loose tables outside. This is definitely an "order and get out" establishment. Due to this congestion, Moo Moo Mia felt a bit hectic on both of our visits which always makes one feel guilty to ask for samples in order to not hold up the line. The flavor options at Moo Moo Mia aren't super extensive (there isn't that much to choose from) BUT there do have those unique combinations Mia and Mark boast of with pride. I have sampled a few flavors at Moo Moo Mia such as Honey Lavender (Sweet cream ice cream layered with delicate ribbons of lavender and finished with a touch of raw organic honey - so good with perfect lavender notes!), March flavor of ice cream with Luck Charms marshmallows and Sweet Taro. On our second visit, my boyfriend kept it simple with a single cone ($5.50) of Madagascar Vanilla Bean (Made with imported ground Madagascar vanilla beans) and a kid's cup ($4.25) of March's monthly flavor Coconut Ube for me. Mark and Mia aren't exaggerating about Moo Moo Mia's ice cream as it truly is quite good: creamy, thick and not overly sweet; the texture is perfection. The Honey Lavender holds my heart but the Coconut Ube was also delicious although it tasted of 95% ube with a small 5% after taste of coconut water. Good thing I like Ube! My boyfriend's vanilla was, in his words, "The best vanilla!" and I agree that Moo Moo Mia truly elevates a basic flavor making it extra special. The consensus is that the ice cream is wonderful, no doubt. The customer service at Moo Moo Mia leaves a lot to be desired, however. During both visits the associates were very dry, somewhat curt - although not rude, per se - and are literally only there to get the job done and that's it. Even though this isn't too terrible; it prevents Moo Moo Mia from being a perfect experience. Moo Moo Mia is a delicious and quality option for an ice cream treat that you can truly taste but the lack of numerous flavor options, the teen-tiny shop and the customer service are flaws that keep it from being exceptional. Despite this, Moo Moo Mia is recommended for all ice cream lovers - whether you have a sibling or not!

Caramel Macchiato was my pick! It had a really nice caramel flavor with coffee bean bits. I was slightly disappointed that they didn't pile up the ice cream to the top of the lid. It stopped at the top of the cup. I felt I was shorted some ice cream unfortunately. Hence, 4 stars! Nevertheless, Nick was amazing. His service was fantastic. Wonderful conversation and experience.
