It looked great, but not knowing anything about it, I went for my usual old folk style ice cream in a cup so as to not over calorie myself. It's fun sitting outside in the evening. The streets are fairly quiet. So it's peaceful. Overall a great place to treat your loved ones. They can also be found at the LA County Fair in May. I tried the Dubai Chocolate bar at the Fair. Have been coming for years but it's always a different experience depending on the staff. However one thing that is always the same is that they never want to give a bag when we say it's to go. This time I said it's to go when ordering I was told "of course". When the order was complete the cups with lids were shoved out the window at us with one falling on the ground with no concern. We asked for a bag after the cup dropped and the server seemed annoyed. No second thought for the cup that they dropped on the ground. Still thinking about Afters days after my visit. It's like a scoop of heaven in a cup. Cookie butter flavor topped with Oreo crumbs is simply heavenly! They offer so many tempting flavors (strawberry cookie crunch, milk & cereal, Cookie Monster, etc.), that I was glad they told me in advance I can try samples. Great customer service. Also amazing ice cream. The parkour is outdoors, and super cute. I also appreciate the fact that they have an indoor place you can enjoy after receiving your order. Good late night place to get ice cream. My favorite combo from afters is milky bun with jasmine milk tea and fruity pebbles combo. Dangerous combo but super good. Beware lots of sugar tho. Decided to come here after dinner because our son had been telling us we needed to try it out. Even though there was a long line out the door, it actually moved pretty fast! There was only one person working the counter and serving the whole crowd, but they were definitely hustling. They have a lot of really funky and unique flavors to choose from. I found Afters which was conveniently located close by. I didn't tell my parents that there was ice cream nearby as I was afraid they would shoot down the idea as they still like to control me. We arrived at Afters to find a cute little ice cream shop in a repurposed gas station. Love the venue! I asked the "elders" if they would like some ice cream, but they politely declined as they were still full from lunch. I'm forever indecisive and asked to try some flavors of ice cream before ultimately deciding on Mint Monster. Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream is my all-time favorite flavor. The sample that I tried was delish. I got a scoop in a cup to-go. I started to take pictures of the ice cream for this review before I could finish taking pictures. My Mother is hovering next to me waiting to pounce on the ice cream. That's why we call her the Seagull! She grabs an extra spoon to sample the ice cream for herself. I told her that I could get her a cup of ice cream, but she's perfectly content with eating mine instead. Before I knew it, Dad wanted some too. Alas, I finally got an opportunity to try my ice cream. It was great, btw! I will definitely be back to try some other flavors. Fun flavors - seems that a lot of their flavors are based around chunky textured ingredients like cookies and brownies. I enjoyed the ube brownie and Cookie Monster. Good flavors, not too sweet, and the cookie chunks are decent sized. I got the small size, and it looked funny in the waffle cone. Solid, small location themed after a vintage gas station stop. There's outdoor tables with seating and some umbrellas too, if it's a particularly sunny day. It shares the same plaza as Hoji Tea Community, so there's a tiny shared lot, but you can always do street parking here. Although there was a line at night, it went fairly fast and we got a decent scoop of ice cream. The flavor that we shared was their ube brownie. This is so comedic-- my 2 friends and I arrived at 11:58pm. We understand it is 2 min before closing but we decided to try anyways to see our chances. We get to the counter and the employee started taking our order. However, the employee behind him said "we're actually closed" and the employee taking our order repeated the same thing out of fear? I understand that we came at last minute and we hate to be those people-- but we were ready to order as soon as we arrived. I would understand if the employee immediately turned us away, but he only turned away our order because another employee seemed annoyed. This only happened because the 2 men in front of us took a while to order which caused us to order past midnight. Terrible customer service in my opinion. I would have never treated guests like this. Satisfied with my ice cream craving. I try to look for a non-artificial tasting vegan ice cream and I think I found the spot. My husband and I were walking around the neighborhood talking pictures of the beautiful spring flowers and trying to catch the painted sky sunset on our stroll. Suddenly we both spotted a cute little ice cream shop with a couple of people enjoying their treats outside. We each ordered a scoop. I chose Saigon Coffee topped with gummy bears (don't judge me) and he opted for the bright blue Cookie Monster flavor. The scoops were quite large and the ice cream was creamy and had the perfect flavor and sweetness. The Cookie Monster flavor is a vanilla base with lots of crushed up cookies inside and a true Cookie Monster hue that does Sesame Street proud. The shop had a couple of outdoor tables with umbrellas if you want to eat there. We ate ours on the walk back home. I know it was good because before I was able to snap a picture I had finished my cup. I love coffee ice cream and this one was particularly delicious. The only problem I see is that this shop is walking distance from my home and they are open really late (until midnight on a weeknight) which may tempt me to eat ice cream even more often than I already do. In all seriousness, I am happy we stumbled upon this gem because they have a nice selection of flavors and good quality ice cream just puts me in a great mood! As someone who makes her own ice cream regularly, I have high standards when it comes to frozen desserts. While they offer fun and creative flavors, there is nothing too fancy that it will scare off those who appreciate a quality cup of vanilla.
