I love Bacio di Latte as a business and I have been to many of their locations in Orange County. This location in Pasadena is in a prime location off Colorado and De Lacey. We parked nearby in the De Lacey parking structure off De Lacey and Green. The interior is one of the smaller locations, no seating. We took our ice cream to nearby outdoor seating in the area. So this location has a lot of room for improvement. There was 4 staff working, and no other customers. 2 of the staff stood in the middle practicing their scoops and basically stood in the way of the other 2 trying to help me. Like can you move? Practice with one of the flavors on the edge? Also I tried a couple of samples, and the texture was off compared to how I know it should be at other locations. Maybe they're not busy enough here and the flavors were sitting there too long cause a few of the flavors weren't as smooth as they normally are. We ended up getting the Regular in the Waffle Cone ($11.55) and chose a Mint Chocolate Chip and their namesake Bacio di Latte, which is a sweet cream. This 2 scoop feels smaller than their other locations too. Maybe they need more practice on making these scoops consistent. If this was my first encounter ever with Bacio di Latte I might never come back. But being a fan of the brand and knowing their potential, I hope they can take my feedback and make improvements to staff training and product quality. After all... THIS ISN'T CHEAP.

After grabbing dinner in the area, my friends and I were craving dessert, so we naturally had to go make our way to a sweet little treat, Bacio di Latte. Parking in Pasadena is tricky but I believe that you can go to any parking structure and get a cheaper parking deal. They let you sample the gelato so I tried everything chocolate and opted for the hazelnut and the ferrero rocher. They have three sizes for their cups: piccolo, regular, and grande. All the flavors were wonderful - I just prefer my gelato to be chocolate-forward! They also let you add two flavors for the piccolo and three flavors for the regular. Very generous if you ask me! This is a grab and go spot so be prepared to walk around with your gelato or eat it standing up! If there is a line and a crowd inside, it may be hard to linger and take the cute photos but the inside is aesthetic, cute, and worth a moment to take in. You could potentially sit in their window sill area if you end up going late night, which is what we ended up doing.

I had lunch with a buddy near the area and we were craving dessert, so we made a stop at Bacio di Latte. You can park at the De Lacey Parking Garage right across, which is only a buck for first 2 hours. The line was almost out the door but the wait time wasn't too bad. They have a QR code of the menu so you can look through their diverse selection of gelato flavors as you wait. I got the regular cup which allows for 3 different flavors; I ordered their pistachio, hazelnut, and chocolate chip. All 3 flavors were very delicious and rich, and it reminded me of the artisan gelato I had in Italy (especially the pistachio flavor). Just be warned, as you get to the cashier area, it gets a bit hot and stuffy. You can see from the photo that my pistachio gelato was starting to melt and drip. Once you pay, be prepared to dip. Because I didn't have my cup of caffeine yet, I also ordered their latte macchiato. But unfortunately, the drink was disappointing and tasted like watered down black coffee.

    Part of the available options

I got the Chocolate Pistachio Crunch with the optional Pistachio Cream around the cup and on top. The ice cream itself was delicious, it had a really nice pistachio flavor without being too overwhelming, with plenty of crispy caramelized cone pieces and chocolate chunks swirled throughout. I paid a little over $11 for a regular sized cup, which I felt was on the expensive side; a pint is about $15-16 so I think next time I would just get a pint instead

Bacio di Latte is a charming Gelato shop with cozy vibes. We went there on Thursday night and the shop was busy.We scanned the QR code to read the menu. They have delicious and unique flavors of Gelato. They use organic milk and organic cream. I ordered three scoops; Belgian chocolate (Cioccolato belga) cookies& cream (crema & Biscotti) & Bacio Di Latte. Belgian chocolate had a rich flavor and it is perfect for chocolate lovers. Bacio Di Latte had a very creamy texture with nutty hazelnut combined with light chocolate flavor. Cookies & cream (Crema & Biscotti)was rich, creamy and perfectly delicious. The service was fast. The staff was very friendly.I enjoyed their high quality ingredients and the various and rich flavors.

We have been here numerous times and never have a bad experience. Staffs are always friendly and gelatos are best in town. People come in waves. If there's a long line, try to come back later. It's hard to find street parking but there are plenty of parking structures around. There are no tables or chairs.

I first tried Bacio di Latte when we went to Italy last year, so I was so excited (and honestly surprised) to find out we have one here in Pasadena! The line was pretty long -- we waited about 40 minutes to be exact -- but it moved steadily and honestly built up the anticipation. I got the coffee caramel flavor (I forgot the exact name ) and it was absolutely delicious. Super creamy, rich, and not overly sweet. You can really taste the quality. My husband got the hazelnut flavor and he loved it -- very smooth and full of flavor. We also got our cones dipped in Nutella and pistachios, which made it even better. The added crunch and chocolate coating took it to another level. Even with the long wait, I have no complaints at all. It was 100% worth it. The gelato tasted fresh and just as good as I remembered from Italy. We'll definitely be back to try more flavors next time!

We were coming from dinner and wanted something sweet but still a little savory ...maybe coffee, maybe ice cream, or honestly both. We came across Bacio di Latte in Pasadena and it ended up being exactly what we were looking for. Their ice cream is delicious, and I loved that they let you try different flavors before deciding. The staff was super friendly and patient, which made the experience even better. I ended up getting ice cream with two shots of espresso, and it was so good. The espresso beans tasted fresh and was perfect with the ice cream.

4 stars Mom and I stopped by to pick up a dessert here and we were kinda impressed. We got 1 scoop ($7.45) to share and a cappuccino ($6.25). I got the the 3 chocolate flavor and my mom picked the pistachio crunch and we loved the texture of the gelato. The chocolate wasn't overly sweet, but the pistachio was surprisingly salty, however the crunch was a nice sweet balance to it. The cappuccino was good. It was very smooth and, for an afternoon pick-me-up, I thought it was perfect. Mom thought it could have been stronger. I'd come back.

The first time I tried Bacio di Latte was at Victoria Gardens in Rancho Cucamonga. When I saw they have a location in Old Town Pasadena, I got really excited and had to swing on by for a sweet treat. This location is at a nice corner spot. Inside is oddly long in length though. The slender bench seating along the windows is fine, but the section near the gelato selection and payment counter can get really snugged. You're eating your ice cream and you have people standing in front of you with their backs turned... there is barely any space between you and them. I find that quite awkward. Staff was welcoming and friendly. A nice young gentleman helped me with my gelato selection. Free samples of any gelato flavors as many as you like from what I was informed. I saw 23 flavors available at the time. I tried a few flavors. Thank you! I ended up getting a regular cup up to 3 flavors for $8.95. I only got 2 flavors, Cocco Rico with creamy crunchy coconut and Chocolate Pistachio Crunch with exactly what is described in its name. Love the smooth and creamy texture. Sweetness was perfect. I would get them both again!

The shop is cozy, small, and very clean with a modern look. Seating is extremely limited, but the vibe is relaxed and welcoming. It's a nice stop for a quick sweet treat after walking around town. ::Gelato:: The gelato is made fresh in house daily using high quality ingredients and organic milk. Flavors rotate between classic favorites and seasonal options. My favorite is the Nutella based gelato with hazelnut chocolate. I can't remember the exact name, but it's sweet, silky, and very creamy. You can sample flavors before choosing, which makes it easier to decide. ::Customer Service:: The staff were friendly and helpful. They offered samples without hesitation, made suggestions, and were patient while I took my time. Even when it got a bit crowded, the line moved quickly and I never felt rushed. ::Tips:: Definitely ask for samples. It helps when so many flavors sound good. ::M's Notes:: - Very limited seating, no tables or chairs - Parking options include street parking, nearby lots, or garages

Located in Old Town Pasadena, across Miniso or Tiffanys, so you get a general idea of where it is located. Walked in and was greeted and we were able to try as many flavors as we wanted. Sad they didn't have the pistachio available at that time. I was able to try the salted caramel, mint and strawberry shortcake, you can taste the flavor and how rich the gelato is. It's really creamy and the serving that they give you is perfect. It satisfy your gelato tooth. I went with the strawberry shortcake. Taste just like cake in a gelato form, added a waffle cup and I was set.

On our most recent visit - admittedly our first in a while - I was surprised that the flavors mostly seemed like repeats from a long time ago. Of course, you want to feature what is most popular, but I remember previously seeing things that were truly one of a kind, even for them. (Out of curiosity, I visited their website and the seasonal flavor blog hasn't been updated since spring 2021). None of this is a deal-breaker, but the feeling of "tiredness" permeated my interaction with the staff, too. There was no joy behind the counter, which I found odd for ice cream that is supposedly about the love of travel. When I tried to order a scoop of one flavor, I was told that I couldn't have it because there wasn't enough left for a full scoop. When I asked if I could have the half scoop that remained and just combine it with another flavor (trying to solve the problem for them), I was told that they aren't allowed to do half and half splits anymore. Fortunately, another employee showed up at that very moment with a fresh full tub of that flavor, but it still struck me as odd. They were also out of cones because of another problem. I am giving them four stars because the ice cream is still great and definitely worth a try if you've never had it, but I hope they can maintain their spark and magic as they continue to expand.

However, when I spotted this store as I was walking around the area, I had to go. Inside, there were two employees, and fortunately, it was not crowded on a Monday afternoon, so I was helped immediately. I sampled three flavors: Hong Kong Milk Tea with Toasted White Chocolate, Jasmine Milk Tea Almond Stracciatella, and Honey Lavender. Hong Kong Milk Tea with Toasted White Chocolate: This was a special flavor. I LOVE Hong Kong Milk Tea, so I was really excited to try this one. However, I thought the tea flavor was way too strong, and I usually love a strong tea flavor. I really loved the textural element of the toasted white chocolate though. Jasmine Milk Tea Almond Stracciatella: Another special flavor. I also love Jasmine Milk Tea, LOL, so I had to try this as well. Honestly... this had the opposite problem of the Hong Kong Milk Tea ice cream: I could barely taste the jasmine tea flavor! Maybe the almond stracciatella masked the jasmine flavor? In my opinion, jasmine + chocolate don't go well together. Honey Lavender: This is one of their classic flavors, and it was easily the best flavor out of all of them. Incredible balance of honey and lavender!! Loved how floral the lavender flavor was, as if there is too much lavender, it can taste soapy. Luckily, that was not the case. It was so good as the flavors were on-point, it was creamy, and had a perfect amount of sweetness. It's a classic for a reason! I ended up getting a single scoop of the Honey Lavender which came out to $6.95. Honestly, pricey for a single scoop, but the flavor made up for it at least. Still, I don't think I'd go out of my way to go to Salt & Straw because it is pricey. If I am ever nearby, though, I'd probably visit again. They have really unique flavors during their monthly special, but I just hope that they execute them well the next time I visit. If not, the classics are there for a reason, and I'd be interested in trying them as well.

The unfortunate part is that the ice cream really isn't that good, and the portions are small for what you pay.  What really turned me off, though, was the lack of common sense from the staff. If you've been here, you know they have a display case with slices of cake and pie. Normally you look through the case and point to the piece you want. That's exactly what I did. There were about ten pieces of cake in the case, and I picked one that had the perfect icing-to-cake ratio. The employee asked what I wanted, and when I pointed to the slice she told me, "You can only pick from these two," while holding up two other pieces. Apparently those were the older slices that they were trying to get rid of. They were clearly smaller and, judging by how they were being pushed, probably not the freshest either. Since I was basically being forced to buy something I didn't want, I said I didn't want anything. She just said "okay" and moved on to help the rest of my family. At that point I told my family we were leaving and heading to Bloomfield Creamery in Altadena instead. The employee had every opportunity to use a little common sense and simply give me the slice I asked for. I work hard for my money, and if I'm paying premium prices, I expect to choose what I'm buying. Instead, they lost Madre family of customers for good.
