3.5 stars, rounding up to 4. The setting was really nice, the service was also friendly, but the price for what you get is....well, the cost of tea was quite high. The tea itself was really good, but we also don't get too many water refills. The help you the first time, the water stays hot by your side to refill yourself we were able to get two pots each. The food came out on a little rack, so presentation was great. However, the food was just ok; it was basically boxed items you could buy in the store up front, but tasted just average. It was also heavily sweet, so we kind of wished we'd eaten first. However, that osmanthus tea jelly was amazing. Highlight of the whole tea! Overall, it was an experience, but one we wouldn't partake in again. Ooh, but after lunch (we were still hungry), we headed back to try the tea soft serve and that was super tasty!

Chaffee is located on the second floor of the "Tea Pot" plaza in Temple City on the corner of Las Tunas and Rosemead Blvd. The ambiance was quiet and relaxing. Service was really good too. The presentation was nice. What I found lacking was the food. The food quality could have been better. I would have appreciated more savory dishes and less store-bought cookies and pastries. I wanted fresh baked goods.

Background On Visit: Recently bought the mysgv passport and felt quite happy that Chaffee is a participating vendor. Restroom: Restroom is available to use. Credit Cards: They're accepted Location/Parking: Located on the second floor of the teapot plaza on the SE corner of Rosemead Blvd. and Las Tunas. Parking can be found on the ground floor, but it would be recommended to park in the underground parking structure. Ambiance/Decor: Nice ambiance with modern asian furnishings. Plenty of seating through out the shop. Service: Kim, staffer, was friendly, attentive, and informational about the shop. My tea didn't take long to be made. Drink Of Choice: I had the 913 King Oolongs Tea. Loved the floral tea flavor and felt refreshed after drinking it. Chaffee For Thought: Would love to come back to the shop and participating in a tea making class in the near future.

The food is cute and palatable. The san Gabriel mountain views are amazing. The service is really quick and the host is kind. The afternoon tea the ambiance is nice. This is a really nice experience. There's a lot of food. We got two tea afternoon tea set for four people and the other two people got a personal Tea set and it's more than enough food. I really like the light floral tea, White Peony. I like the jelly too. It's not too sweet. They give samples of the tea. It's like a honey jelly. It tells you the steep times on the menu. There's at least 15 different varieties of teas for the afternoon tea. They have spicy bean curd and spicy peanuts as some savory elements. There are tea cakes and other not too sweet desserts. Taiyaki, nougat. The hojicha and oolong tea soft serve is really delicious and has good flavor. Parking is the same plaza as baekjeong and dive. Underground.

Such a fun and enjoyable tea experience! The place is very nice, cozy, and welcoming. We had a great time enjoying the tea and spending time together. Definitely a fun place to visit with friends!

#124 in my Teaholic Diaries. Located on the second floor of the plaza, Chaffee is an elegant tea house that incorporates traditional Chinese tea culture into a modern tea experience. Their tea rooms are exquisite, and are inspired by traditional Chinese tea houses. I felt like I was in a high end jade shop, and interestingly enough, they have a teapot museum in the middle of the large establishment. In addition to selling loose leaf teas and tea ceremony cupware, they also offer afternoon tea service as well as a few select individual teas/milk teas that are brewed-to-order. I opted for the 913 King's oolong tea and the Cassia milk tea from their iced tea collection. Both drinks were smooth and mellow. The 913 king oolong tea is a signature blend of oolong with ginseng. It was vibrant in color and had a lovely sweet floral taste. My favorite of the two was the cassia milk tea, which was a little on the richer side with a malty flavor profile. Overall, I enjoyed the two drinks and would be interested in trying their other iced teas. ****************** My Ratings: 1 Star: Terrible; just thinking about it makes me angry. 2 Stars: Wasn't a fan so Not likely to return. 3 Stars: Meh. Average. Might return if others drag me. 4 Stars: Yum! Likely to return. 5 Stars: Amazing! Would plan my day around it.

Currently if you want to book reservation for tea group it would be $65 per person. Parking: Good luck finding parking on the top floor, cause this plaza gets busy. Most of the time you'll be able to find a parking spot on the underground parking structure. Tie Guan Yin soft serve: texture was nutty like black sesame. It had a slight roasted taste to it with tea underlining. Definitely, would recommend getting their soft serve here. SGV boba passport book: I got to try their 913 King Oolongs Tea with 50% sweetness. They really hit it right on the mark with the sweetness. It was still sweet but not too sweet. Tea mix was inbetween light. Not much seating inside if there are a lot of tea serving reservations booked on the day of. Very spacious, and very beautiful if you're a tea lover like looking at tea pots, tea cups, and different tea bags to buy this is your place to drop by.

Came last week to hang out with a friend and finally try the tea experience at Chaffee | Ten Fu's & Ten Ren's Tea Boutique. It's located upstairs in Camellia Square Shopping Plaza, right by the iconic floating teapot fountain. Walking inside felt like stepping into a traditional Chinese tea house. The space is beautifully designed with elegant décor, display cases filled with various teapots, and an impressive wall of teas available for purchase. We were led to a quiet semi-private room featuring gorgeous mahogany and cherry elm wood tables and chairs, intricate carvings, abalone inlays, and beautifully crafted wooden partition panels separating the rooms. Our room also had views overlooking a portion of Rosemead Blvd. and a nearby side street. I did have to wait a little before being greeted, but it appeared the staff member was assisting other guests in the back, so it was understandable. The menu offered a wide variety of teas to choose from, and we each selected our own pot. Alongside the tea came a beautifully presented assortment of traditional Chinese tea snacks. Everything was thoughtfully arranged, and the staff explained the proper steeping times for the first, second, and third infusions. An electric kettle maintained the perfect water temperature throughout our visit, allowing us to fully enjoy each subsequent brew. The entire experience felt relaxing, elegant, and unhurried--an excellent way to spend an afternoon catching up with a friend. The teas were enjoyable, the setting was stunning, and the service provided a nice introduction to traditional tea appreciation. My only downside was the price. At about $65 per person, I felt the tea snacks didn't quite match the premium cost of the experience. Overall, it was a fun and unique experience to try at least once, especially if you enjoy tea culture, beautiful surroundings, and a slower-paced afternoon with friends.

Chaffee tea house offers such a unique Chinese high tea experience. The set comes with 10-11 small bites with your choice of tea. The treats are quite small but cute. Their presentation is so adorable. One tip: try your tea before diving into the treats because the sweets will overpower your tea. Mine at least. I ordered Bai Hai Oolong. The interior of this tea house is also so beautifully designed. I visited on a Friday afternoon and peaceful and quiet which I love. Our server was wonderful and helped recommended options. At a $65 per person, is definitely a splurge, but for the presentation and overall experience. It's worth giving it a try!

I love their oolong soft serve but I usually come for the Chaffee tea latte, which is an iced oolong tea with espresso and agave. Delicious! Came in today and it seems like they are finally getting more business. The main appeal is the vast collection of teas and you can even relax in one of the many rooms with a nice aerial view of temple city, haha. Very good, quick and friendly service! 5 stars.

    Vicky H.

Beautiful interior and service was very good! We went in just for the soft serve. Even though both types of oolong (913 and Tieguanying) were on the menu they only had matcha and Tieguanying. The oolong flavor in the soft serve was really good - fragrant and strong but not overly so to where it's bitter. My only note is that the day we went the ice cream was a bit crystallized and the whole dessert was full of tea sediments which I was told is not typical. Personally I wouldn't serve something if it was not the normal standard. I still give it a 4 due to flavor and because I could see the potential. I hope to go back to solidify the review.

Hidden Gem located upstairs in temple city's teapot plaza. Teas from everywhere, tasting rooms, tea tasting programs. Great selection of hot and cold premium teas. Reserve your group tasting in the private rooms. Very nice decor super stylish. Soft serve match green tea and also affogato available. Espresso based drink menu too for coffee lovers.

When we first came in we were given a sample of one of their teas. Once you order your drink, you go to the back and wait as that is where the drinks come out. there are chairs. The milk tea here taste so healthy. But i guess its a good thing. You can taste the 3 ingredients they add to the drink. The only bad thing was 1 of the teas ran out and it wouldve taken 30 minutes to brew up more. You can also buy from their tea selection and i suppose the many types of pots and cups then have for the tea. They have pretty cute ones. It looks like they also do afternoon tea which is a cute event with friends since you might get a private room.

We went in and my goodness the place is colorful, like a circus of random things of toys, trinkets, accessories and fridges full of packed desserts. I was eyeing their fresh slices of pies and cakes, especially the carrot cake (someone before us bought one and I was curious too), but their late chocolate chip cookies looked super good, too bad the ice cream sandwiches in the fridge only had snickerdoodles, but their hand written menu and ice cream flavors was our final decision. Today's Flavors definitely means something special, but their triple organic milk was unique. It tasted like fresh sweet milk, tastes even better on top of a brownie and with an extra topping (chocolate balls). More people started coming in and given the space we decided to go back with our ice cream, they have chairs outside where lots of people were eating their ice cream too. Overall, I can tell this place is special, very cute and the staff are very friendly. May come back for that carrot cake next time.

I'm updating my previous review because I recently tried the Tamarind Lime Chili soft serve, and it is an absolute 10/10 must-get. I trusted the staff's expertise and went with their recommended pairing: Chamoy gummy bears, Tajín, and pomegranate molasses. It was an incredible flavor combination--fruity, tart, and gently spicy--serving as a fantastic homage to Mexican candy profiles. It's a bold, refreshing choice, perfect for anyone who loves tangy, savory-sweet, and spicy flavors. A big shout-out to Donny for his excellent service! He was patient, friendly, and incredibly helpful in guiding us through the menu and offering samples. I'll definitely be back, even if my wife continues to tease me for choosing "spicy" ice cream. One thing I've learned is that the experience here really shines when you lean into their expertise. While the soft serve is solid on its own, adding the right toppings elevates it significantly. When I try to guess the combinations myself, it can be hit or miss, but sticking to their recommendations was a home run. Overall, it's a 5/5 for flavor. While the pricing is a bit premium--I paid $20 for one large with three toppings and one small--the quality is high enough that I don't mind paying for the experience. The girl working the counter was a young girl just getting by her summer day job. She was nice but timid. It was our first time there and a little more energy on her end could've been better. Ordered the ube swirl, pineapple dole whip, mung bean taiyaki, and a custard one togo. The taiyaki that goes onto the ice cream is a lot bigger than one we ordered to go. I thought it would be as big, but when I got it, it was so much smaller and flat. Also, the taiyaki that goes on top of the ice cream was old. It had been sitting there for a while or was made earlier as it was hard and difficult to bite. The red bean inside I also assumed was a paste like how they make the Japanese version, however there were whole pieces in there. It was okay, but I thought they'd be like paste. Overall, the only thing that was good was the ube swirl and the pineapple dole whip. It was also extremely warm in the shop, like no AC in the triple digits summer heat. Had to eat it elsewhere. I most likely won't be back.
