I've come to appreciate and enjoy green Thai tea a LOT. I wish there were more places that have it regularly on menu where I am, so it's always a nice treat when I do drink it. My bestie introduced me to ChaTraMue and I was so excited for their Thai Green Tea. Right by restaurants and such so it's a convenient spot to get something here after lunch or another meal, etc. Ordering was through a kiosk and the 4 of us all got Thai green teas. They have a regular option and a vegan option where they use oat milk. The default topping was the agar boba which I kept on my drink and enjoyed it. Flavor was really good, and though I got one of the lower sweetness percentages, it was still pretty sweet to me. The others didn't mind too much as they didn't find theirs overly sweet. Unsure if they made a batch of the same sweetness cause most of us did get half sweet, but the flavor was still really good. They have other drinks as well, which I'd love to try if I return here. I've been looking forward to trying ChaTraMue since I heard that their Thai tea is really good. Since I was in town, I finally found the opportunity to give them a try. I visited this Rosemead location, which is in a popular local plaza (iykyk). I decided to go with the Thai Green Milk Tea and I can confirm, the Thai Tea was very delicious. The flavors were strong and it definitely was prevalent with each sip. It's nice to see Cha TraMue brand expand to their own store front. Basically they are the source of Thai tea, for much of Thailand and most authentic Thai restaurants in the US. They've been importing, growing, and supplying tea for over 80 years. There was a time when my ex was considering opening a Thai restaurant, and we'd go to LAX-C outside of downtown LA to make sure we could get Cha TraMue tea leaves in bulk. I actually like their rose drinks quite a bit too. And their choice of plastic cups are at least more structurally hardy - unlike places like 85'C that have cheaped out into using the softer, malleable plastic cups that have a higher tendency to leach microplastics under heat. I will say, I wouldn't deviate from the sweetness level for Thai tea too much. This location is a bit inconsistent so it'll taste off if you try to go to 70% or 50%. I usually avoid boba, but I make it an exception to get their pandan boba. Although again... sometimes their at this location is inconsistent, and it'll be missing that pleasant, aromatic pandan essence. Plus the they've also been too chicken shit to call out my name. You know, you enter your name: "Fat Boy." But when my order was ready, they'd only say "Boy!" Now I don't feel so guilty tipping only 15% instead of 20%. read more

I thought it was funny how they give you plenty of warning signs that rose tea is a laxative. This drink is on the pricier side, and it was sweet, tangy, citrusy, and refreshing. It's a roasted green tea mix with jasmine in condensed milk. It's refreshing & tasty! I arrived at ChaTraMue (Rosemead) on Thursday (around 11:16AM). Parking felt easy since it wraps around the building. I parked in the Empire Commercial Center lot. Staff is professional and welcoming. Customers can order on the two clean self-service kiosks or the counter. I disliked how the kiosks require a cell phone number to proceed; however, it's easy to use. Although Staff interaction felt minimal, I appreciated how Staff put effort towards greeting me. "Have a great day!" she'd exclaim. My drink took three minutes and 42 seconds. Good pace. The milk successfully carried a crisp, fresh tea flavor. Unfortunately, I think 70% sweetness was too strong & sweet since the taste of "sugary cereal milk" eventually became the primary taste. The honey pandan boba felt playful and squishy; however, the texture resembled very soft gummy bears or Gushers. It's enjoyable, but the soft texture could be off-putting. It was great to finally try ChaTraMue! I've always relied on buying the leaves but it's a different experience trying how the brand makes it. The store was clean and drinks were ready within ten minutes of me placing the online order. The packaging is cute but I think the lids are badly designed in terms of keeping the liquid from spilling. It wasn't too bad for my drinks since the workers added some parchment paper as a seal. But for people who bought the hot drinks, the lids caused it to spill. The only solution for folks in that case is to remove the lid or the workers need to figure out something else to create a better seal. Especially if it's likely the workers cannot use different packaging. It was also nice to see the tea leaves that you can just buy. I ended up getting the regular Thai Tea leaves for $8 but if the Thai Green Tea came in a smaller tin, I would've gotten it as well. $12 for Thai Green Tea felt a bit too much. read more

ChaTraMue is located near Shin Sen gumi and Golden Delight. There's plenty of parking but it can get busy at night and on the weekends. They have self-serve kiosks with a great selection of drinks. They had some many drinks and toppings that I haven't seen before. Such as slushy teas and pandan boba! The interior is clean and is a nice place for a brief catch up with a friend. It's not ideal for studying or hangouts for big groups as the tables are small and the music is a little too loud for me to get work done. There was only one longer table for a group. But they do have plenty of outlets if you don't mind the loud music. The matcha was solid, but I don't think it's their specialty. The boba was still warm in my drink and had some good chew to it. Went around 9 PM on a Saturday night and the plaza this shop is in was packed. Finding parking was kind of a nightmare, but once we got inside, the vibe was super cute and cozy. I don't know why, but carrying around a literal bucket of Thai tea brought me so much joy. I'm a sucker for gimmicky or fun presentation, and this one really did it for me. Flavor-wise, the Thai tea was good, but I like a stronger tea taste. It felt like a 50/50 milk-to-tea ratio, and I'd prefer something more like 70/30. Still, the drink was refreshing, and the boba was perfectly cooked -- chewy, flavorful, and even my girlfriend (who doesn't usually like boba) liked it. The sala milk was interesting. It reminded me of a slightly floral strawberry milk. The flavor was good, but not something I'd personally crave again -- just not for me, even though I could see others loving it. My Mom and I were at the 888 Seafood Restaurant located in the Empire Commercial Center in Rosemead. I remember reading up on a new business named ChaTraMue Original Thai Tea that just opened about one month ago. It happened to be on the other side of the 888 Seafood Restaurant. I had to come on over and try their Original Thai Tea. It's one long Thai tea shop. Very clean and has a comfy ambiance to it. Good amount of bench seating. They also have a few bar stool seating. Self-ordering kiosks are available. Honestly, I don't remember if they have ordering over the counter. They serve signature drinks, milk tea, specialty tea, fresh tea, Yuzu series, rose tea, latte series, vegan series, expresso, and caffeine free. A good variety of options! They offer 16 oz, 22 oz, and 32 oz (in bucket form) cup sizes. I chuckled when I saw the bucket LOL. Hey, whatever it takes to get the job done! I ordered via kiosk. Got one Green Thai Tea with pandan boba for me and one Oolong Milk Tea with egg pudding for my Mom. Both with 100% sweetness and no ice. Prior to choosing the toppings, I asked if I could sample their pandan boba. The young lady behind the counter was nice to give me a free sample. Thank you miss! It didn't have the pandan flavor I was looking for, but I still got it for my drink. I thought maybe the pandan flavor may come through with the rest of the drink. Well, it didn't LOL. I still enjoyed my Green Thai Tea drink regardless. It had a good strong Thai tea flavor. Very authentic! My Mom liked her Oolong Milk Tea drink, too. Overall experience was great. Good to have them here in SGV since I'm in the Rosemead area almost every weekend. Definitely coming back to try their other tea flavors. If you haven't had one of ChaTraMue Original Thai Tea drinks, now is the time! P.S., When a biz name intrigues me, I have to find out why. Per Google, "ChaTraMue" translates to ""Tea Brand Hand," but it's more commonly understood as "Hand Brand Tea" #1 Brand Tea in Thailand. Hence, the thumb's up in its logo.
