Really cool interior design with the chrome accents and faux grass throughout the space. There are also a lot of mirrors, which makes it a fun spot to take some cool pictures! The drinks are pretty good, with a nice selection of both tea and matcha, and even the bags they come in are super cute. The space inside is pretty spacious, and parking is plentiful, so it's convenient to visit. I got the Jasmine Matcha Cream Latte, and it was the perfect blend of jasmine and matcha. Neither flavor was overpowering, and they worked really well together. Overall, a cute spot if you're looking for good drinks and a fun, unique interior! If you leave a review you get a free gift! Ordered the limited edition Supreme Hojicha latte with 10% sugar and oat milk. UG is having a collab with Head in the Clouds and is offering sticker sheets if you order the hojicha latte as a combo (2 hojicha lattes + sticker sheet) for $13.99. The hojicha latte had a creamy and smooth texture, but fell flat in terms of the hojicha intensity. I'm not sure if it was because an alt milk (oat milk) was substituted in place of the recommend UG milk, but the hojicha flavor was muted for me.
Got the jasmine milk tea and next level matcha. Both were superb! Interior gives gentle monster in a way and they have a high angle photobooth inside where you can take pictures while your drink gets made. Service was pretty quick as well, nice seating area inside. Parking lot is smaller but enough circulation to get a spot pretty quick!
Though the drinks are good, I'm changing my review for speed of service. I ordered only 2 drinks. I came in much earlier than others who ordered at the kiosk and yet someone who ordered at the kiosk got at least 5 drinks done faster than the two I ordered. Then, a fantuan delivery person came and had a large order. Then another woman who ordered at least 10-15 minutes after me got her order of one drink before I did. It felt like poor planning in the system. It's a bit disappointing as I do enjoy the drinks. I understand things happen and come up, but it should be prioritized in order, or at least I should have been warned about the 20+ minute wait.

Got the Next Level Matcha Latte (30% sugar, regular ice with UG special milk) - $7.40 - I was pretty bummed how milky the drink was and how the matcha tasted quite subtle. In fact, I couldn't really taste the matcha at all. I was expecting high quality matcha since I read a lot of good reviews about their matcha but it didn't seem too exceptional. It tasted like a watered down milky matcha latte but it could be because I like my matcha more bitter and less creamy. I enjoyed it wasn't too sweet but it tasted too bland for my preference. Overall, I'm not a big fan of their matcha drinks but it was nice giving it another try.
I've been wanting to try UG Tea, the famous Taiwanese milk tea shop, ever since I heard they opened in San Gabriel. I missed them when they were temporarily closed a while back, but they are officially back and currently the trendiest spot in the SGV. The interior has a fantastic "new millennium" aesthetic that feels like a trip back to the early 2000s--they even have a giant iPod on the wall as decor! It's a great vibe for photos, and you'll see plenty of people using their onsite photo booth. My wife and I shared two of their bestsellers: the Next Level Matcha Latte ($7.95) and the Camellia Oolong Milk Tea ($7.00). The Next Level Matcha Latte is a must-try. You can really taste the quality of the 90% real Uji matcha, which provides a bold, earthy flavor balanced perfectly by a light, savory cheese foam top. It's only served cold, and it's excellent. The Camellia Oolong Milk Tea was equally impressive. It features a red oolong base with a lovely floral aroma that isn't overpowering. Per the staff's recommendation, I ordered it at 50% sweetness, which was a pro-tip--it kept the tea as the focal point and made for a very refreshing, lighter drink. Overall, UG Tea is the real deal. It's not just a hip, trendy atmosphere; they truly back it up with high-quality, delicious drinks. We will definitely be back!
A solid Taiwanese boba shop that's made it's landing hear in the oversaturated boba street in San Gabriel! UG's tea has a plethora of options for green tea/matcha options. It's great they have oat milk options to swap. So, a nice spot if you love floral teas! I personally love the barley/rice taste, so my go-to is the Rice Floral Milk Tea. Another great option is the Camellia Oolong Milk Tea - it's like you're drinking a flower! It's a huge space inside with a small adjacent lot. Really wish they didn't use fluorescent lights since the place feels too sanitary (not as cozy to hang out with).

UG Tea is a modern tea shop founded by the Taiwanese brand Sharetea Group. As of July 2026, this San Gabriel location is the only Southern California location; however, UG Tea also has locations in Houston (Texas), Tukwila (Washington), Richmond (California), Milpitas (California), and Bellevue (Washington). Apparently UG Tea will plant a tree for every 1,000 cups of drinks sold. [Parking]: There is a small designated parking lot and I have had no issue finding an available spot whenever I come here. [Atmosphere]: S-tier interior decor with the entire shop decorated in green from top to bottom. One side of the shop features a mirror decorated like Microsoft Paint on Windows 95 and another side of the shop has another mirror that looked like an old-school iPod. There is even a photo booth to take pictures.. [Ordering]: Customers order via a kiosk and the shop sends a text message when the drink is ready. There is also a monitor that displays the status of drink orders. My drink was ready in less than 5 minutes. [Menu]: Yelp's top recommended drinks are Next Level Matcha Latte, Camellia Oolong Milk Tea, Matcha Cookie Smoothie, and Jasmine Milk Tea. The shop offers three straws - trisip (recommended for milk tea), small straw (recommended for pure tea), and big straw (recommended for topping drinks). *** Next Level Matcha Latte (30% sugar, regular ice, UG special milk, 16 oz, $6.95): A very milky matcha latte, but I could still taste the matcha flavor. It was a fairly concentrated matcha drink and the UG Special Milk made it extra milky. The drink comes with 30% sweetness by default and the sweetness level tasted about right. *** A solid 4.5-star drink and bump up to 5-star for the trendy atmosphere. P.S. - If you still have room for more tea drinks, then the plaza across the street has four tea shops: Chicha San Chen, Auntea Jenny, ici Tea Drinks, and Macu Tea.
Stopped by Wednesday evening and I'll definitely be coming back! Yet another tea spot on Valley. They have their own building and a decent amount of parking. The interior has a lot of green everywhere just like the name implies, I thought it was unique . When I went in it was empty, but theres probably seating for 25-30 people? Service is fast, drink also came out super fast but not sure what the wait time would've been if it was really busy. Cloud Matcha Latte - 9/10 GASS MAN. Based off the concept I already had relatively high expectations. Off personal preference it's a perfect balance of matcha. it's not too bitter, nor does it just taste like straight milk. The cloud foam on the top is always a great touch.
Always love coming here for the Camellia Oolong Milk Tea as someone who typically doesn't like floral or oolong flavors! Good parking lot and wait times are always displayed on the TV screen so you know how long you can expect your drink. So many fun photo ops and they even a high angle photo booth. Lots of seating and waiting space as well. Love that they are open late too!
I ordered through the FanTuan app and was able to get a $4 off coupon - I was able to get two regular size milk teas for $10. That's a steal in this economy!! I got two camellia oolong milk teas, both 50% sweet and less ice. This milk tea is soooo good. It's fragrant and deep while still tasting light and refreshing. It's so hard to describe, but I'm happy to have found a solid oolong milk tea. A lot of boba shops nowadays only do roasted oolong milk tea, and I don't like the flavor profile of that. Parking is super easy, though the entrance is a bit tight (can't easily fit a car entering and exiting, especially if one car's bigger than a regular sedan). Service was relatively fast - I ordered and was able to pick up within 30 minutes. I'll definitely be back to try other drinks like their matchas!!
Because I live in the Bay Area, any drink place from SoCal that opens up there is super packed and chaotic. UG just opened in Milpitas and it really intrigued me to try the place while visiting SoCal. Fortunately, this location was not as crowded for a Sunday afternoon. The place was an old bar and it seems to have kept some of that vibe but obviously, more aesthetic for the matcha girlies. Next Level Matcha: 4/5. It may have been me, but I'm always afraid to get drinks too sweet, so I lowered the sugar, which I think affected the flavor of the drink. It was decent! Matcha Cookje Smoothie: 5/5. There's a reason why it's one of the top drinks! I really enjoyed the matcha flavor paired with the Biscoff cookie! Delicious. I'll definitely be back to try other drinks because they have a lot of fun and cute drinks.

If you download the app you get 5 dollars odd your first drink! Not sure if they're still having the promotion. Got the cookie matcha smoothie and it was so good. Perfect sweet and a rich creamy matcha flavor. Warnings that it's tons of calories but very worth it! The inside is a big space for people to sit and talk. I wouldn't recommend studying here since when I went their wifi did not work and there's not a lot of proper tables but they could've added more since the last time I went. read more

Unfortunately, this experience was disappointing--not because of the product, but because of the customer service. Our group ordered five drinks, with only one drink containing boba because the boba was meant for a young child. We politely asked if the boba could be packed separately, as children shouldn't be drinking caffeinated milk tea at night. The staff simply replied that "the system doesn't allow it." We even offered to pay extra if needed, whether for an additional serving of boba or an empty cup, but no alternative or effort to help was offered. Sometimes, great customer service isn't about what the system allows--it's about whether someone is willing to find a reasonable solution. We weren't asking for anything for free, only hoping for a little flexibility. It's unfortunate that such a simple request, especially involving a child, was met with such an inflexible response. Because of that, this visit left us feeling genuinely disappointed. I hope the store will consider improving its approach to customer service in the future. read more

Not bad comparable to 3CAT and Molly Tea. Just an odd location though. The interior still has remnants of the Taiwanese Hostess Lounge that occupied this building for decades. Where young women would fly out here on travel visas from Taiwan and work night shifts accompanying businessmen, drinking, playing dices, paper rock scissors....the 90s and 2000s were good times. But yes, come for the drinks...and sit on the couches and dive back into an era of nightlife, vice, Asian Triad life in the San Gabriel Valley. read more
Overall Experience - 9/10 it was a wonderful place to hangout and the hangout. It had ample seating. I was there to try their new drink. The staff were nice and good at explaining the people. Drink - I had the Avo mango drink and it was a good balance of avocado, mango, and cream flavor. Wondering balance of fruit, creaminess, and sweetness. Experience - The place had a nice ambiance and wonderful staff members. The parking can be crowded in the lot but there is ample street parking. i am not kidding when i say that i am literally here once a week. this is my go to spot if i want to just hang out or grab a drink with a friend. they even have a cute photo booth in the back and it's super cute inside. in terms of drinks, it's not the best, but it's pretty decent overall. drinks come out relatively quick as well. read more
Was good but not great. Stopped by on a Saturday afternoon and it was pretty busy. It was spacious with comfortable seating along the wall. There is a parking lot which was nice. When you first walk in, you order at the kiosk near the counter. You are given a number and a text to let you know that they had received your order. There is also a monitor where you can see the status of your order. Our order took about 20 mins. There were a lot of staff but maybe because they are new, it just didn't seem very efficient. We ordered the orange Jasmin tea with lychee jelly at 50% sweetness and the cloud matcha with 30% sweetness. The matcha was not sweet at all and did not have a strong enough matcha flavor for us. The orange tea was perfect. Would order this one again. Overall the decor and speed of service was a little disappointing. The matcha drink was also underwhelming. But will most likely give it another try, maybe when it isn't so busy or order online. read more

Date of Visit: 6/6/26 Time of Visit: 1:30pm After having lunch in the SGV area, we drove over to UG Tea based on a positive recommendation from my younger sister (who frequents the SGV area and scopes out new tea shoppes). The interior of the shop definitely matched their name. Lots of green decor all over. The interior space was also quite large, too. I believe they could have more chairs and tables if they wanted to. I ordered the Peach Camellia Fruit Tea and my wife ordered the Next Level Matcha Latte. My peach fruit tea was very tasty and the lychee jelly that I added we quite chewy and complemented the peach flavor really well. I took a sip of my wife's matcha latte and it was quite strong, but pretty good, too. Overall, this tea shop is at least Top 3 in the SGV area based on our recent tastings. read more
Found this place on my way home on Monday after stopping for XFT and finding it closed (RIP). Heard about it from friends and thought to give it a try since I was in the area. Between the two of us, we ordered the Avo Mango Dream, Matcha Cookie Smoothie and Cloud Matcha Latte. Dad really enjoyed the Avo Mango Dream drink which was a blended smoothie-type drink with avocado and mango in it. The other two were pretty regular matcha style drinks without much to add about other than their standard 70% sweetness was still pretty sweet. Their most popular drinks are in the $6.50-7.50 range. Service was quick with the amount of drinks they were getting out. Online order is available to minimize the wait. Parking lot is quite roomy. Inside had a few tables along with a wavy shaped couch that at some points narrowed to the point you can't really sit on it. read more

Came here after a friend hyped their refreshing fruit tea and it did not disappoint--super fruity, not overly sweet, just right :) Convenient parking out front, plenty of seating inside, so we chilled for a while, took pics, and just hung out. Cozy spot to catch up with friends! read more

I went at 11:30pm so about closing time. It was one of the few boba places open late, and they offered almost all drinks even that close to closing. The workers were so kind. I got the jasmine milk tea with floral tea jelly and the supreme hojicha latte. The jasmine milk tea was very okay...nothing special. The floral tea jelly was good. The hojicha latte was smooth and had a good flavor. The place is big but the parking lot is small. They had a little green photo booth in the corner. It is pretty good but expensive and the wait is usually really long because of the promotions they have. read more

Mango Floral Fruit Tea light, refreshing, and easy to drink. Perfect if you want something fruity without feeling too heavy. Overall thoughts: The drinks were solid and looked just as good as the shop itself. Not every drink was a 10/10 for me, but the quality was good and the menu offers something for different tastes. The atmosphere is definitely one of the highlights and makes it worth stopping by if you're in the area. With all the boba spots in this area, where does one go? I recently stopped by UG Tea and it is now my favorite spot. I've tried Osmanthus Oolong Milk Tea and 15 Jasmine Milk Tea so far. I usually get 70% sweet. I believe their usual is 30% sweet. I appreciate the big parking lot and it is spacious inside. Can always hang out with friends while you sip away. I downloaded the app on my phone to collect points. I'd love to try their matcha drinks next time. read more

The space is clean, decorated, and spacious. The staff are also really nice. We used their Photo Booth and had a blast as well. I got the rice floral green milk tea and it was light and refreshing but slightly too watery. My cousin got the avocado mango and it was really good. Although the mango was slightly sour, the drink was still flavorful and creamy. read more

UG was one of my favorite spots when I went on a grand tour of popular tea shops in Taiwan, so I had to try them here in the U.S. Expectations were high, but they were exceeded. I tried the camellia oolong milk tea with tea jelly at 30% sweet. It was floral perfection with a slight creaminess. The tea flavor is distinct and potent, signaling its quality. The tea jelly was tasty, though a little more crumbly than comparable tea jelly toppings at other places. I would come back to try some of their signature matcha drinks. read more

I found unexpected happiness at UG Tea (San Gabriel). I ordered the Next Level Matcha Latte ($6.95 - 16oz - Recommended 30% Sugar). It's TASTY!! It's smooth, milky, and carries a vanilla aftertaste mixed with matcha. I sipped happily. I arrived at UG Tea (San Gabriel) on Monday (around 11:24AM). Parking is simple. There's reserved parking for customers; I counted about 20 parking spots. It's also really charming how the parking lot has a sound system that plays powerful, upbeat party music. Customers can order at counter or self-service kiosk. Staff is cordial and friendly. Staff provided wonderful recommendations, but Staff seemed a little skittish when asked questions. My drink took about two minutes. Fast!! As mentioned, I ordered the Next Level Matcha Latte ($6.95 - 16oz - Recommended 30% Sugar). It's refreshing!! It tasted balanced & purposeful, and I liked how the usual earthy matcha felt subtle as it mingled with the vanilla and milk. YUM!! On ambiance, UG Tea (San Gabriel) is gorgeous and upscale. It's SHINY! The floors sparkled. The music also felt very fun. When I'd arrived, it was fairly empty, so the place felt very spacious. I also really enjoyed all the plush cushion seating. However, UG Tea (San Gabriel) is not an ideal study/work spot. I found about one easily accessible electrical outlet. Ugh... Thankfully, there's customer internet with password; details are available from Staff. The location only has four normal mini tables and nine miniature stool tables. In addition, there's also a gender neutral restroom. Overall, I found unexpected joy at UG Tea (San Gabriel). The drinks are delicious, and the cute, aesthetic photo shots are plentiful. So good!! Pulled up here after dinner with a friend and this tea house instantly felt like a chill place to hang. Spacious interior, bright and roomy, plenty of seating, so you're not elbow‑to‑elbow with strangers. Low‑key perfect for photos and just sitting around catching up with friends :) I got a light milk tea and it was exactly what I wanted sutasty not super heavy or overly sweet. They take customizations very seriously, the staff double‑checked my ice and sugar level instead of just nodding and forgetting, which I appreciate a lot. Convenient parking out front made it easy to swing by without stress. All the staff are very friendly, like genuinely nice, not fake‑polite. You should definitely check out their drinks!! read more
5/15/2026 1st time. They don't have brown sugar boba. Sad! We tried 2 drinks: - Matcha Cookie Smoothie (10% Sugar) Great concept! It has crushed biscoff at the bottom of the drink. I ordered it with 10% sugar, and it's perfect for me. I will order it with 0% next time to try. The cookie bits do add an enjoyable kick to the experience. Order it! - Orange jasmine fruit tea with floral tea jelly Another great drink if you're not into matcha and crave for something lighter and fresh. The tea jelly is melt-in-your-mouth soft but tbh I will skip it next time. I personally prefer either aloe Vera or agar boba for topping for fruit teas. I would def go back and try their other drinks! read more
