With all the boba spots in this area, where does one go? I recently stopped by UG Tea and it is now my favorite spot. I've tried Osmanthus Oolong Milk Tea and 15 Jasmine Milk Tea so far. It's smooth, milky, and carries a vanilla aftertaste mixed with matcha. I sipped happily. I arrived at UG Tea (San Gabriel) on Monday (around 11:24AM). Parking is simple. There's reserved parking for customers; I counted about 20 parking spots. It's also really charming how the parking lot has a sound system that plays powerful, upbeat party music. Customers can order at counter or self-service kiosk. Staff is cordial and friendly. Staff provided wonderful recommendations, but Staff seemed a little skittish when asked questions. My drink took about two minutes. Fast!! As mentioned, I ordered the Next Level Matcha Latte ($6.95 - 16oz - Recommended 30% Sugar). It's refreshing!! It tasted balanced & purposeful, and I liked how the usual earthy matcha felt subtle as it mingled with the vanilla and milk. YUM!! On ambiance, UG Tea (San Gabriel) is gorgeous and upscale. It's SHINY! The floors sparkled. The music also felt very fun. When I'd arrived, it was fairly empty, so the place felt very spacious. I also really enjoyed all the plush cushion seating. However, UG Tea (San Gabriel) is not an ideal study/work spot. I found about one easily accessible electrical outlet. Ugh... Thankfully, there's customer internet with password; details are available from Staff. The location only has four normal mini tables and nine miniature stool tables. Ordered the matcha cookie smoothie with the recommendation of the barista. It's a matcha smoothie with a layer of Biscoff cookie at the bottom, which adds a really nice sweetness and texture. I asked if I could adjust the sugar and they mentioned that the lowest it could go was 10%. Even though you can't get it fully unsweetened, it still tasted rich and wasn't too sweet. I'm not sure if it's their special milk that they offer, but the drink was very milky and the tea flavor didn't shine through. Camellia Oolong Milk Tea - Pretty similar to the jasmine tea in that it was milky and the tea flavor didn't really shine through. Cloud Matcha Latte - I enjoyed that the match flavor was very strong and wasn't watered down or too milky. I definitely want to try their other matcha drinks next time. Peach Camellia Fruit Tea - The peach flavor was very strong and paired well with the camellia oolong tea. this was my third favorite. It was nice that for the introverted soul, the store had a screen to order from. We got the hibiscus roast milk tea at less ice and 30% sweet, and I can't say I was impressed. Like their name says, Unique Green Tea, my wife and I had to try their matcha. Tried both their Cloud Matcha Latte, Next Level Matcha Latte, 15 Jasmine Matcha Cream Latte, and their Peach Camellia Fruit Tea through multiple visits. One thing I like about their drinks are the cups. Pretty underrated in my opinion, very sturdy, hard to spill, and overall a cute design. A decent cup is always a sign of a solid boba shop and UG Tea is definitely one of them. They also have one of the best "reusable" carry out bags that come with your drink if you order online or request a bag. Sealable bag, with handles, solid design, and good material. To the drink itself, all 4 drinks I've tried are plenty refreshing. The flavor is certainly on the stronger side but with higher level of ingredients, it's expected. The fragrant flavors are not too overwhelming which makes the drink very addicting to a point. The unique types of drinks they sell are eye catching so I'll certainly try another drink in my next visit. Overall, a great addition to the congested boba space in the SGV. It's a creamy matcha smoothy with some cheese to add a bit of savoriness to it. It's alright, but nothing that can compare to the heavy hitters that are taking over the boba scene in SoCal, or even just up and down this street if you think about it. Think of a light cheese milk drink with a very subtle taste of matcha. You're not going to get something on Yamari level, but I expected a little bit more out of a place with green in the name and this being a "green" drink. Or maybe that wasn't the theme or intention of the business and the green was about restoring green spaces in the world (they do plant a tree for x number of drinks purchased which is pretty neat). Interior decor feels like an art museum more than anything else. A spectacular place if you love the color green. Seating is basically a singular bench that lines the store walls. I was so amazed at how delicious and high quality tea it is. Boba was nice and chewy. The drink was very floral and like litteraly so perfect - not too sweet. Spacious, modern, and clean space. Staff were nice and friendly. Can customize sugar and ice levels* for most drinks. Some things to note: They don't have hot drinks. Also, the matcha drinks have a preset amount of ice, so *both the matcha drinks and smoothies are not customizable for the amount of ice. Got the Cloud Matcha Latte, was surprised to have whipped cream as a default but I'm sure you can ask for no whip. I got 10% sugar and it was equivalent to when asian desserts are described as "not too sweet". I think anything above 10% would've been too sweet for me. Also, got the Matcha Cookie Smoothie, which was more desserty. 30% sugar was maybe a little too much because the cookie crumbles (I think they use Biscoff) are already sweet and mixed in. They also have a parking lot which we were able to park in - however it was pretty full. There are lots across the street though, and parking in SG is never too bad. Was finally able to try this place. Both next level and cloud matcha were amazing. I think i prefer floud matcha more because of the whipped cream. Ordered 100% and was confused when the cashier said 30% but apparently thats their recommended level. It was actually perfect but id try 50% next time to compare. The space itself is huge and super spacious, and I couldn't get over how green everything was. The nature-inspired theme is so cute. There are also plenty of photo spots, including a photo booth inside. Their menu includes pure teas, milk teas, fruit teas, smoothies, and of course their signature Uji Matcha drinks. I ordered the Matcha Cookie Smoothie and the Cloud Matcha Latte. Both had a rich matcha flavor paired with their unique milk blend. The toppings were also really good. Maybe I'm too internally old for these hype boba places. I wasn't blown away by it. I don't think I would come back unless someone brings me here. The interior is...something. A huuuuge vast open space with lots of "hype" decor. Lots of space for the line yet there was no menu displayed on the screens above the cashier. Instead, it was only posted at the cashier counter so good luck trying to figure out what you want while you're in line. Seating is only available on these teeny benches that run along the wall. The decor feels half unfinished and fell short. I got the matcha cookie smoothie, one of their top drinks. It was fairly icy. Matcha taste was mild at best. It ended up tasting more like an icy milky cookie butter drink. There was a decently long wait. The queue of drinks being made is only displayed on one screen to the left, so unless you're standing in front of it, you can't see the status of your drink. The drink came inside a bag and there were also individually wrapped spoon and straw. Can't imagine the amount of waste produced just for the aesthetic. Anyway. Drink was very meh. And I'm not impressed by the "hype" of this place. read more

Small parking lot available The interior design is very aesthetic! Love it! I got the camellia oolong milk tea which became my favorite! Very high quality tea and there's this nice bold flavor in the drink! I got 70% sugar and thought it was the perfect sweetness also got the next level matcha latte but I still think the camellia wins for me. read more

UG Tea has really great service and their app makes it convenient to order ahead of time. The staff is also always friendly. They also do variety of promotions (discounts, giveaways) so check in with them to see if they got something going on each month. My personal favorites is their matcha drinks, like the matcha cloud or next level matcha. Bf really likes the strawberry hibiscus fruit tea. read more

Came here with a friend after dinner nearby and this spot was such a chill surprise :) Cozy little tea house vibe, quiet enough to chat but not awkwardly silent. Staff was friendly in a low‑key way, helped us pick something without being pushy. Tea came out hot, super fragrant, and you can tell they actually care about brewing it right.
