My wife and I shared two of their bestsellers: the Next Level Matcha Latte ($7.95) and the Camellia Oolong Milk Tea ($7.00). The Next Level Matcha Latte is a must-try. You can really taste the quality of the 90% real Uji matcha, which provides a bold, earthy flavor balanced perfectly by a light, savory cheese foam top. It's only served cold, and it's excellent. The Camellia Oolong Milk Tea was equally impressive. It features a red oolong base with a lovely floral aroma that isn't overpowering. Got the Next Level Matcha Latte (30% sugar, regular ice with UG special milk) - $7.40 - I was pretty bummed how milky the drink was and how the matcha tasted quite subtle. In fact, I couldn't really taste the matcha at all. I was expecting high quality matcha since I read a lot of good reviews about their matcha but it didn't seem too exceptional. It tasted like a watered down milky matcha latte but it could be because I like my matcha more bitter and less creamy. I enjoyed it wasn't too sweet but it tasted too bland for my preference. I ordered the strawberry hibiscus tea and the matcha cookie smoothie. They were offering samples of the strawberry hibiscus and we were swayed! The tea was very refreshing, you can taste all components of the drink. As for the matcha, I did not enjoy the mushy cookies or the bits of salt. I think just cookie crumbs instead of whole biscuits would have been more enjoyable, personally. We went during early evening on Saturday, and there were a couple of people lounging around and no line. The interior is unique and visually striking but unfortunately not very customer friendly. There is a ton of empty space in the center of the shop, but no tables or chairs in that area, only along the edge of the room. Even so, the parts where the seats taper and recede into the wall are not proper seats, and are more of a ledge. However, the staff is very friendly and do not hover while you look at the menu, which I appreciate! I still remember when this location was Red Rose (a karaoke nightclub and gentlemen's club) before COVID, but now the space is taken over by UG Tea. UG Tea is a modern tea shop founded by the Taiwanese brand Sharetea Group. As of July 2026, this San Gabriel location is the only Southern California location; however, UG Tea also has locations in Houston (Texas), Tukwila (Washington), Richmond (California), Milpitas (California), and Bellevue (Washington). Apparently UG Tea will plant a tree for every 1,000 cups of drinks sold. [Parking]: There is a small designated parking lot and I have had no issue finding an available spot whenever I come here. [Atmosphere]: S-tier interior decor with the entire shop decorated in green from top to bottom. One side of the shop features a mirror decorated like Microsoft Paint on Windows 95 and another side of the shop has another mirror that looked like an old-school iPod. I heard about UG numerous times from my brother who raves about it. So I finally made my way out to try it. The inside of the store is futuristic and super cool, definitely the opposite of a cozy cafe vibe. It is a big space with seating along the perimeter. You can place your order on the tablet near the register and make sure to download the app because you get $5 off your first purchase and their reward system is really good. I got the jasmine milk tea with honey boba and my friend got the mango rice tea. The drinks came in a cute bag with straws inside. Not bad comparable to 3CAT and Molly Tea. Just an odd location though. The interior still has remnants of the Taiwanese Hostess Lounge that occupied this building for decades. Finally had a chance to try UG Tea after hearing good things about it! I ordered the Camellia Oolong Milk Tea (100% sugar, no ice) through the Fantuan app. When I came to pick it up, they have their own dedicated parking lot, so there was lots of parking spaces which is a plus! I can't speak for the ambiance since I didn't stay long, but the interior was very spacious and clean! I liked the green aesthetic. Pickup was seamless as I just went up to the counter, and they handed me my drink. I liked the drink! It had a slight floral taste reminiscent of Jasmine milk tea. I don't think it tastes anything special though, but it was good. The sweetness level was good too, but I might try it at 70% sweetness next time to see if the floral flavor pops more. My drink took about two minutes. Fast!! As mentioned, I ordered the Next Level Matcha Latte ($6.95 - 16oz - Recommended 30% Sugar). It's refreshing!! It tasted balanced & purposeful, and I liked how the usual earthy matcha felt subtle as it mingled with the vanilla and milk. YUM!! On ambiance, UG Tea (San Gabriel) is gorgeous and upscale. It's SHINY! The floors sparkled. The music also felt very fun. When I'd arrived, it was fairly empty, so the place felt very spacious. I also really enjoyed all the plush cushion seating. However, UG Tea (San Gabriel) is not an ideal study/work spot. I found about one easily accessible electrical outlet. Ugh... Thankfully, there's customer internet with password; details are available from Staff. The location only has four normal mini tables and nine miniature stool tables. Like their name says, Unique Green Tea, my wife and I had to try their matcha. One thing I like about their drinks are the cups. Pretty underrated in my opinion, very sturdy, hard to spill, and overall a cute design. A decent cup is always a sign of a solid boba shop and UG Tea is definitely one of them. They also have one of the best "reusable" carry out bags that come with your drink if you order online or request a bag. Sealable bag, with handles, solid design, and good material. To the drink itself, all 4 drinks I've tried are plenty refreshing. The flavor is certainly on the stronger side but with higher level of ingredients, it's expected. The fragrant flavors are not too overwhelming which makes the drink very addicting to a point. It's alright, but nothing that can compare to the heavy hitters that are taking over the boba scene in SoCal, or even just up and down this street if you think about it. Think of a light cheese milk drink with a very subtle taste of matcha. You're not going to get something on Yamari level, but I expected a little bit more out of a place with green in the name and this being a "green" drink. Or maybe that wasn't the theme or intention of the business and the green was about restoring green spaces in the world (they do plant a tree for x number of drinks purchased which is pretty neat). Ordered the matcha cookie smoothie with the recommendation of the barista. It's a matcha smoothie with a layer of Biscoff cookie at the bottom, which adds a really nice sweetness and texture. I asked if I could adjust the sugar and they mentioned that the lowest it could go was 10%. Even though you can't get it fully unsweetened, it still tasted rich and wasn't too sweet. Overall: Very modern and artsy looking store thats relatively large. Drinks were very good and they have a lot of different variety from fruity drinks to milky drinks which can fit many different tastes. Packaging is very nice. The milk teas are on the milkier side. I preferred the matcha drinks and the fruit teas over their milk teas. The Service: We came on a weekend and there was about a 20 minute wait to order drinks. The lined moved relatively quickly. The person taking my order was nice and answered any questions that I had about the drinks. The Drinks: Jasmine Milk Tea - The jasmine tea was nice, but didn't taste as good compared to other milk tea places that serve jasmine tea. I'm not sure if it's their special milk that they offer, but the drink was very milky and the tea flavor didn't shine through. Camellia Oolong Milk Tea - Pretty similar to the jasmine tea in that it was milky and the tea flavor didn't really shine through. Cloud Matcha Latte - I enjoyed that the match flavor was very strong and wasn't watered down or too milky. I definitely want to try their other matcha drinks next time. Peach Camellia Fruit Tea - The peach flavor was very strong and paired well with the camellia oolong tea. this was my third favorite. Orange Jasmine Fruit Tea - This was my favorite of the teas - the bright orange flavor paired well with the lightness of the jasmine tea. Sometimes with orange teas, the orange flavor can overpower the jasmine tea, but this wasn't the case. Price: About $6-7 for the drinks. I think it's $7 for the larger size which is normal pricing in my opinion for that size drink. The Atmosphere: Very artsy location - its pretty large and plenty of seating. There is a photobooth that you can take some cool photos (it's an additional cost though). It kind of feels like Team Labs in Japan with the type of decor. Parking: They have a small lot next to it and there's street parking. It can get crowded since it's a popular place. read more

Always love coming here for the Camellia Oolong Milk Tea as someone who typically doesn't like floral or oolong flavors! Good parking lot and wait times are always displayed on the TV screen so you know how long you can expect your drink. So many fun photo ops and they even a high angle photo booth.
