The tea is good. Cute cups and packaging. 25% sugar is not sweet (which I prefer) and it satisfies the craving. We selected this place to try something new and I can say it was worth trying. Is it to die for but worth trying. The tea has a good a good balance of both. Good serving size. The price was good as well. Boba was a little tough.
I appreciate the intention of Moncha Cafe (Rosemead). I ordered the Iced Flower Tea ($5) with Brown Sugar Agar Boba (additional 75 cents). The tea is refreshing, crisp, and pleasant. Unfortunately, I sat on a sticky couch covered in long strands of old hair in a musty, unswept, grimy room while Staff casually rested by the counter. The location felt gross and unmaintained. I arrived at Moncha Cafe (Rosemead) on Tuesday - May 12, 2026 (at 12PM - Opening Time). The location was DIRTY! I quickly found parking in the small lot; it fits about 15 cars. Staff interaction felt nonexistent. Customers primarily order at the Self-Service Kiosk. I dislike how the kiosk requires a cell phone number to proceed. My drink took two minutes and 45 seconds. Quick. As mentioned, I ordered the Iced Flower Tea ($5) with Brown Sugar Agar Boba (additional 75 cents). YUM! The Iced Flower Tea is a combination of Chrysanthemum, Chrysanthemum buds, Osmanthus, and Gomphrena Amaranth Flowers. The tea is honey-like, crisp, and thirst quenching. Concerning the boba, it's floral with a grape-like texture; it's an acquired taste. On ambiance, Moncha Cafe (Rosemead) has wonderful potential. For example, I absolutely LOVE the plentiful electrical outlets, MANY boardgames for customers, and plush seating. There's also customer internet with password; details proudly displayed on the counter. And there's a gender neutral restroom. The lighting and art is also attractive. Unfortunately, during my visit, Moncha Cafe (Rosemead) reminded me of an unmaintained, public city bus. I have seen "B Grade" Businesses that are cleanlier... The crevices and corners are littered with crumbs; parts of the tables are sticky; the couches and cushions are entangled with long, old hair. Overall, Moncha Cafe (Rosemead) is not bad. I genuinely enjoyed their tasty, affordable tea. However, I don't feel comfortable enough to return if they're unable to maintain a standard of cleanliness. I was literally the first customer that day, and it was DISGUSTING. I hope this location improves... Drinks: 4.7 out of 5 Staff: 2 out of 5 Ambiance: 1 out of 5 Overall: 3.4 out of 5
I have to bump this place up to 5 stars. I keep coming back here whenever I want a snack and a place to get work done. It's such a relaxing spot to sit down with some delicious popcorn chicken and stay focused for hours. The tables and seating are spacious, so it's great for both studying alone and hanging out with groups. I also love the convenient location right off Valley.
Cute boba cafe with comfy seats, friendly service & nice decor, it's a great place to hang out. There's a private parking lot with plenty of seating. My favorite drink was the Midnight Jasmine Milk Tea with Sakura boba. It was very good, they added Peruvian purple corn in the tea, and the Sakura boba was light & sweet, it reminded me of aloe texture. The boba went well with the tea, it was like a burst of flavor with each sip. I also enjoyed the ube fresh milk & the peach limeade. I love how they have a variety of teas, coffee and non-caffeinated drinks. Will definitely return to try more items on the menu.
I stopped by in the afternoon on a Friday to get some work done. As someone who is very sensitive to caffeine, I was happy to see lots of caffeine-free options. I opted for the strawberry floral tea (caffeine-free due to chrysanthemum tea base) with brown sugar agar boba and popcorn chicken with Chinese bbq seasoning. The employee brought my drink and food directly to my table. I was surprised by the boba because I originally thought it was brown sugar OR agar boba but they flavor their agar boba with brown sugar. Agar boba is not my favorite, but it's good with the brown sugar! The floral tea was interesting, but I think I'd opt for something else next time as I found the chrysanthemum flavor a little too overpowering. The chicken is not the Taiwanese style. A nitpicky detail: I wish the chicken came mixed with the seasoning already, or at least came in packaging where I could close and shake. The flavor was great though! This is a great spot to work with lots of seating and good wifi. Parking can be hit or miss depending how busy the store is, but love to see a spot with caffeine free options + open late night!
Heard about Moncha Cafe through Yelp SGV. They just recently had a Grand Opening. Thought I give them a try since I was in the neighborhood in Rosemead. Came here with my eldest daughter. They weren't super busy at the time. Parking lot is quite small. We got lucky with parking since our visit was during low peak hours. Cute spacious inside space with reasonable amount of seating for customers to chill, chit chat, do homework, or just relax with an iced or hot drink of choice. Restrooms are available in the back. Yay, free WiFi! They have board games, too. Ordering can be done via the self-ordering kiosk or at the counter. Lady staff was super nice and friendly, but a tad soft spoken. I could barely hear her speak at times. She was kind to deliver our drinks to our table. Thank you Miss for the above and beyond service! My daughter got the Peach Flower Tea with lychee jelly. It has a hint of chrysanthemum tea flavor. Very nice and light. Flavor was subtle, but soothing. I liked it a lot. I got the Midnight Jasmine Milk Tea with sakura boba. It was smooth and refreshing. Boba was firm and bouncy. Milk tea had a very familiar flavor. What came to mind was the Bazooka bubble gum flavor. Bingo! I was right. The lady confirmed it is infused with chican which is a Peruvian corn. Cool! I would get the midnight flavor again. On our way out, I ordered two more drinks. Oolong Milk Tea for my youngest daughter and Bittersweet Love for my Mom. Both of them enjoyed their drinks very much. No complaints. That's the way we like it. I find this cafe has very unique and flavorful drinks that sets them apart from other run of the mill boba shops. Highly recommend! Was craving flavored fries and knew Moncha has them on their menu. Interior is GORGEOUS and looks so comfy for studying. Really quiet and plenty of people working inside too. For the fries, I mixed honey butter and chinese bbq. The flavor was really good! They gave me a spicy powder too that added this chinese lamb skewer taste to it. The powder combo had a nice balance of spicy, sweet and savory bbq. A big portion too for $5. My main compliant would be the size of the powder. It was not fine enough so it had a hard time sticking to the fries. I really had to dip the fries onto the powder with every bite. Fries themselves were pretty standard. Overall, I love the space and will be coming back for more fries and maybe even a drink!

Service: Chu (owner) and his staffers were nice, friendly, and offered great suggestions. Drink Of Choice: I decided on the flower tea. It's a blended of 3 different flowers (osmanthus, chrysanthemum, and gomphrena amaranth) with no added sugar. Thought the tea was very thirst quenching and had a really nice floral taste. I also liked how it wasn't caffeinated. Moncha Cafe For Thought: Will definitely come back to try more items on their menu.
Great spot for light eats and drinks, and to escape the business of Valley Blvd. Perfect study spot! The staff was attentive, and nice. Loved their popcorn chicken, midnight jasmine, and maracuya tea. Their Maracuya tea is chrysanthemum & passion fruit which was slightly tart and refreshing, and paired well with the salty and savory popcorn chicken Medium spicy level is still pretty mild, so for those who likes to handle a Thai medium, you can go hotter on the levels for the popcorn chicken
Came here on a Saturday night and got a milk tea with brown sugar boba and popcorn chicken. The guy at the cashier was very friendly and helpful with and questions I had about the menu. When the popcorn chicken got sent to the wrong table he quickly noticed and ran out to bring it over to me. The milk tea was perfect and not too sweet. The chicken was super crispy, the give you the spicy powder on the side so you can adjust to your preference. I like that this place stays open late like boba shops used to, I feel like most places close early now. Overall this is a great boba shop that has an old school vibe but modern aesthetic. Service is top notch, and it's just a chill spot to hang out to do work, play games, or catch up with friends.
My friend and I decided to co-work here at Moncha Cafe on a Friday afternoon. I got the Honey Flower Tea, which seems to be a blend of flowers. It taste just like chrysanthemum and osmanthus, which I believe are in the blend. It's brewed very well and not overly sweetened with honey, the ratio is just right! They offer plenty of appetizer snacks as well. The pictures don't do this place justice. The cafe is much nicer, brighter, and more spacious in person than how it looks from the outside and on yelp photos. They have long tables, outlets, and comfortable couch seatings that makes it a good spot to work, study, and even hang at! I believe the owner was running the shop as well unless I was mistaken, but he was very attentive towards his customers and seem passionate about the cafe. Definitely looking to come back for more remote work sessions here!
There are very few people that can get me to leave my house on a Monday night and my darling girls are at the very top of that list. Located in a small shopping plaza, Moncha Café is a cozy spot with cute décor and tables with comfy seats & couches. They are open until midnight so it's a great spot to study or work and grab a late-night snack. They specialize in boba & matcha and also offer bites such as fries, eggrolls, & popcorn chicken. This place is relatively new but already popular. There were several people on their laptops so we kept our conversation and giggles to a whisper. We shared Spicy Salt & Pepper Garlic Parmesan Fries, a Strawberry Limeade, & an Iced Matcha Green Tea. The fries were addictingly good. They had a slight crispness on the outside and were pillowy soft inside. They didn't skimp on the seasoning either. They also came with cute little forks so you didn't have to use your fingers. The Strawberry Limeade was a tad sweet but refreshing. It would be great mixed with some tequila, vodka, or gin. LOL! Their Matcha is ceremonial grade from Japan, so the Iced Matcha Green Tea was smooth and not grainy. It had a nice flavor. If Boba or Matcha is your thing, definitely check this place out. I'll be back for the fries!

Moncha Cafe (est 2025) is a new boba tea in SGV. They are located at a corner plaza in Valley blvd and San Gabriel blvd. They have a modest selection of boba tea and snacks such as popcorn chicken. I made a quick stop by to grab their Strawberry Jasmine Green tea x Sakura boba. It was light and refreshing. Their popcorn chicken was decent bit crispier than most popcorn chicken in the entire valley. I won't it order again. Staff was nice, attentive and professional. Plenty off seats but most are occupied by young people playing mind craft cards or something. Overall, it's a decent tea shop. read more
We stopped by this spot while looking for some late night popcorn chicken. The price for the size of popcorn chicken was pretty good! The chicken was tender inside and perfectly crispy outside. The employee at the front was very nice and the interior aesthetic was laidback and modern. We really enjoyed the teapot/teaset that came with two cute little glass tea cups. You can ask for free water refills as you drink! It definitely feels like a great study spot or place to chat with friends at. read more

Cute spot ! I ordered the pistachio milk tea and popcorn chicken. There is a little self kiosk system, but I suppose you can also order up front. I only saw one person working so I wasn't sure. The pistachio milk tea was yummy. I was told to be sure to stir it by the server so that was kind! (: the "chicken bites"or popcorn chicken was juicy, but I was craving something more crispy and spicy so maybe I didn't order to my liking. The kiosk is helpful, but it would be nice to have more info of items on the menu so I'm not missing out. lol! Otherwise, I would try more items again. The place is cute and a nice ambiance to bring a date and also study for a chill vibe. read more
I came here on a Thursday night, and it seemed like a nice spot to grab a drink and chill talking to friends or doing some computer work. The lady that helped me and my girlfriend when ordering the drinks was helpful and the drinks here were pretty good. The restroom here was clean as well. I would come back again to try more of their drinks. read more

10/24/25 Absolutely cool & gorgeous aesthetics at this newly opened boba/tea shop with tasty snacks, creative drinks/flavors & friendly service. Cool vibes only. You may order at the counter or at the kiosk. Ken (staff) suggested the jasmine tea which is one of their popular drinks but I was instantly drawn to the iced Ube latte. Also noticed Sakura boba-never had it so added that-- best choice! It was bouncy, chewy with a "snap", will definitely choose this over the brown sugar boba. The garlic Parmesan popcorn chicken was a great choice, too. It was crispy & flavorful. Met the owner, Chu, really down to earth, overall good guy. I do hope his business thrives. He says he's thinking of adjusting & business hours to keep open later, I said that a great idea for people who work or younger people who like to hang out or study. There's a fair amount of comfortable seating indoors. Parking is somewhat limited especially during peak hours but we had no trouble finding any on a Friday night about 9 pm. Given how delicious the popcorn chicken was & the Ube latte was so good, I would love to return & try other snacks or drinks. read more

I met up with a friend for a tea and snack. Ordered: Iced Oolong tea Shared Cajun Fries I got a chance to try my friend's Blooming tea and the Spring Egg rolls. The shared fries were perfectly crisp and delicious. I loved the Cajun spice flavoring. It came with 3 dipping sauces: ketchup, ranch and siracha. My Oolong iced tea was super refreshing. It was 50% sweet and light ice. Perfect spot for meetup, telecommuting, and/or study. They also have board games. Ambiance is nice and clean. I love the beautiful walls paintingLots of seatings. Friendly staff and great service. Management will be adding more signature drinks and snacks in the near future. I will definitely be back. read more

There is lot of seating to sit and hang out or study/work. the couches are pretty comfy! They cute chairs and decor. The staff was very kind and helpful. They have a variety of drinks and snacks as well we ordered the cajun fries, egg rolls and 2 jasmine milk teas. Everything came out quick and the teas were great! I will def be back!! read more

I went at around 10:30pm Tuesday night, and there was a good amount of people here! The room space is very spacious and has plenty of seating, great for those who want to sit and chat or study. I tried out the Peppermint Bark Oolong Milk Tea and Popcorn Chicken. Peppermint Bark Oolong Milk Tea - I thought it was an interesting combination between peppermint and oolong, but it worked! I was sipping my drink initially didn't taste as much until I stuck a straw in and drank through the ice. At 75% sweet, it was the perfect balance of sweetness and milk tea. Popcorn Chicken - The portion size was pretty generous for being $6! I was also surprised that it came with 3 sauces (bbq, ranch, and sriracha). Personally, I don't use sauces when eating popcorn chicken, but it felt nice to have a variety of options. As for the chicken itself, it's definitely a batter, so not the typical Taiwanese style popcorn chicken if that is what you are expecting. I ordered mine at Spicy level, and I think the amount of chili powder ended up affecting the chicken's crispiness. Nonetheless, I thoroughly enjoyed the chicken, and will make adjustments next time. They also have different seasonings for their popcorn chicken (nacho cheese, Chinese bbq, etc.), which is so unique! Note that Moncha is located in a plaza that is one-way, with the entrance on Valley going west, and turning into the plaza is a pretty sharp turn. read more

Hidden Gem in the SGV! Moncha is more than just a tea shop -- it's a community hub with a cozy, cute interior. They offer handcrafted Iced tea, Milk Tea, Coffee, speciality and seasonal drinks. The Midnight Jasmine green tea is a customer favorite!! Peruvian purple corn is made into a syrup and infused with carefully crafted jasmine pearls and green tea. It creates a sweet and floral drink. They have a variety of toppings like the Sakura Agar Boba, which had the perfect chewy texture!! These translucent pink pearls with a cherry blossom flavor are my favorite!! Handmade Strawberry Jam is added to their Strawberry Matcha (ceremonial grade Matcha from Japan) Latte! I love to get Blooming Tea whenever I get a chance! Such a lovely tea set!! They have snacks also: popcorn chicken, fishballs, fries and fried egg rolls. My favorite was the fishballs!! Been waiting for this place to open ever since I saw their new signage, and glad I finally got to try it out! When I entered, the interior was very nice! My favorite color is purple, so I really loved the purple theme inside haha. It also had plenty of tables and chairs and a bathroom. I just ordered their popcorn chicken with Chinese BBQ seasoning. They also had different spice levels (no spice, mild, spicy, and extra spicy), so I just ordered spicy. Order took a few minutes, and when it was done, the employee (or it might've been the owner!) personally handed it to me which was much appreciated! Regarding the popcorn chicken, it's not the typical Taiwanese popcorn chicken that's common at most boba shops. However, I still thought it was tasty! It was hot and had a nice crisp. It had lots of the Chinese BBQ seasoning, and it was actually spicy! Almost every time I ask for spicy at other places, it's barely spicy LOL. It came with 3 sauces: ranch, BBQ, and a red sauce (kinda tasted like a mix between cocktail sauce + sriracha lol). I honestly didn't need the sauces since the chicken was seasoned well! I also thought the portion was quite generous, so for the price ($6.57 including tax), it's very affordable! Overall, would recommend giving this place a try! Cute place for simple drinks. There are lots of tables with spacious seating for people to hang out or work. The parking lot is a one way entry, but shares with unbusy stores so theres plenty of parking. Drinks were fine, nothing special. read more
Drove by this location multiple times and I finally have a chance to try. They have a spacious spot with many tables. You can order from the kiosk or talk to the friendly staff. The owner happened to be there and explained the menu to me. He is Peruvian Chinese so his menu is inspired by that. The midnight milk tea comes from infused purple corn syrup that he makes in house. He was very friendly and offered me a variety of samples to try before ordering. I decided to order the mango green tea for my husband. He said that it was a good mango flavor, but could use more tea. I ordered the midnight jasmine milk tea because I really liked the purple corn syrup that he let me taste. I got that with the Sakura crystal Boba because that was infused with actual Sakura . I liked it a lot. It tasted yummy and not too milky and not too sweet. I also ordered the popcorn chicken. I like that there was a variety of seasoning you can choose. I got the garlic Parmesan for my child since she couldn't eat anything spicy and it was pretty good next time. I really wanna try the Chinese barbecue because it does have a hint of spices and that's what I like. Overall, if you want to come to a place to drink tea, have some snacks and play a variety of games with your friends, then this is the spot. They do offer card games, board games, and I did see a small set of Mahjong. Lastly, there are many parking spaces out front. read more

Saw the signage open up months ago when I drove down Valley but wasn't aware that it had recently opened until I saw the lights on one night. Browsed through Yelp and social media and saw that they're currently in their soft opening. Seems like they were in Pasadena in the past and doing catering events and selling out of small businesses - now they finally opened a storefront in Rosemead! Stopped by on a weeknight and ordered a few drinks. Menu is pretty simple with tea, milk tea, coffees, and specialties. I was intrigued about the midnight jasmine green tea, but the barista described it as a bubblegum flavored tea which I wasn't fond of. I ended up ordering the matcha latte, less sugar and ice - $6. This was my favorite drink out of the bunch. Wasn't too sweet, and had a good matcha flavor. I will say that I wished the matcha flavor was a little bit stronger. Would definitely order this again. Oolong milk tea with brown sugar agar boba ($5 + $0.50) with less ice and less sugar. The drink was good, but I felt that there was a lack of oolong tea flavor. It was a little bit on the milkier side. I did enjoy the agar boba, but the brown sugar added an extra sweetness to the overall tea. Assam black milk tea with brown sugar agar boba ($5 + $0.50) - less sugar and ice. I enjoyed this drink! They use nondairy creamer for the teas, which muted the sweetness. I could taste the tea flavor, and the agar went well with the tea. Currently they're having a soft opening promotion for 20% off and a free Assam tea with purchase. The Assam tea almost tasted like an herbal tea. Very refreshing, and not overly sweet. Interior is very spacious with lots of tables for studying or chatting. They have a lot of cute wall art, and I did see some games that customers can play. The workers were very friendly. It would be nice if they eventually add food to the menu. Also would be nice if they have a chewy boba option, as well as a cream top, but that's just my particular preference Parking lot is fairly spacious. Doesn't seem like there is much traffic in this plaza. tl;dr - another new mom and pop boba shop in the SGV! Hoping they continue to improve and be a stable boba shop in the near future. read more

I checked out this new boba spot with a friend and decided to try their Arnold Palmer! I didn't really look into what they were known for. I just wanted something light and refreshing and it totally hit the spot! The drink was perfectly balanced: not too sweet, not too sour, just really refreshing overall. I'd definitely come back to try more of their drinks! The shop itself was spacious and super cute, with fun decor :) Parking was easy, though I can see the entrance being a little tricky since it's right by a busy intersection. I think my friend and I might've met the owner because he was incredibly sweet! He surprised us with free fries on the house! They were fresh, crispy, and perfectly seasoned. Heard great things about this new tea spot in Rosemead, so I decided to stop by. It looks like they're in their soft launch right now and gearing up for a full opening. Upon entry, it's a cute little tea spot to hang out and chill, with a few photo areas. They have Wi-Fi and a good number of tables to relax or study. I came with a group of friends, and we tried a large assortment of teas. The owner even told us about some of their new Halloween drinks, which we got to try out. All the drinks I tried were perfectly made, and one standout was their Sakura Boba -- I 100% recommend getting it. They definitely have some unique drinks, so I'd love to come back and try some of the wilder ones. Parking: There's a small lot in front shared with a few other spots. It's not too big, but it was empty when I came at night. read more

So new tea shop on the block so I had to go try it. It's currently on soft opening so they have two promotions and you can use both at the same time. The first promotion is 20% off and the second is a free assam iced tea (which is black tea). The free tea is sweetened. I ordered a Oolong Milk tea and I got it with regular sweetness and I would have to say it was good. They don't fill the cup with like 90% ice and it's not too sweet for regular sweetness. I usually like to try the full sweetness when I first try a place. The free assam tea was good too. It's sweet ice black tea. Not overly sweetened either. I like the cups they use, it's a premium cup that's nice a thick. Pricing of this place is very affordable, even without the promotion the drinks are affordable. It's around 5 dollars per drink, not filled with ice, so I would say it's worth the 5 bucks. The service was good, I had questions about the menu since it was my first time here. I asked about dairy free options and luckily the milk tea does have a dairy free creamer option. Yay for lactose intolerant people! They also have just regular tea as well. The inside of the place is very nice and clean. Has a upscale vibe and the music choose is quiet and not too loud. The music is pretty calm and smooth and definitely a place you can sit and chat or study. Parking for this place is good too. The parking is a one way so you need to enter on Valley and exit off Walnut Grove. It's a pretty low entry so it's low car friendly. Since it's a one way parking lot, you can take over the entire ramp if your car is super slammed to the ground to get up. I didn't have to take an extreme angle. Overall, solid 5/5! Highly recommend checking this place out. Their soft opening goes until 10/2 and currently has 2 promotions which you can stack! Not picking one or the other but you can use both! read more
