Moncha Cafe serves quality drinks at what seems like all times of the day. My husband and I stopped by on a late Saturday night (closer to 10pm). The Boba SGV Passport offers 1 Free Seasonal drink + 1 free Assam Milk Tea w/ 1 Topping. What a great deal! I ordered their seasonal Lavender Milk Tea with oat milk at 50% sweetness. I also ordered the Assam Milk Tea w/ Osmanthus Jelly with oat milk, less ice, and at 50% sweetness. The Lavender Milk Tea was floral and creamy. You can definitely taste the lavender. I decided to save that one for later. The Assam Milk tea was what I needed. The Osmanthus Jelly paired very well with the drink. It was refreshing and delicious. It's one that I would re-order on the next visit. My husband ordered their seasonal Sakura Milk Tea with regular ice, 75% sweetness and Non-dairy creamer. He could not stop talking about how good that one was. The staff recommended this one. Thank you for that! We also ordered fries and popcorn chicken. The seasoning on the fries were light. The popcorn chicken was really good. The staff was friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. He made great recommendations which helped us narrow down what we wanted. Overall, I would come back to try the other drinks. Thank you, Moncha Cafe, for the delicious options!
Moncha Cafe x SGV Boba Passport. Another boba spot redeem some drinks. The offers were for 1 free seasonal drink + 1 free assam milk tea. The location has limited parking, but we were lucky to snag a spot. We came late on a Saturday and it was almost full. Many people were there studying. The location has many tables for seating and wifi is free. The staff working was knowledgeable of their menu and gave us recommendations during our redemptions from the passport. We also ordered some food items to pair with all the drinks. The drinks came out periodically as it was very packed inside. We enjoyed the assam milk tea and they allowed us to sub oat milk. For the seasonal drinks we got the Lavender & Sakura Milk Teas. The drinks were made well and had the right sweetness we requested. The food items were fine. I'd recommend the popcorn chicken if you're a fan. The fries were ok. Overall, I'd recommend coming by as the drink pricing appears affordable and the staff were very helpful. Thanks, Moncha Cafe! ( ^_^)b
Repeat after me, Moncha, Moncha, Moncha!!! I just want to give the owner a Shout-out for their service, menu, decor and overall welcoming café. On July 29th, I altered my route so I could come by to support this business. They are an asset to the community, offering a place to work, study, or leisure time to meet up with friends. I ordered a Strawberry Matcha Iced Latte ($7.50), Tempura Shrimp (6 piece $6) and Seasoned Fries ($5). My food was made to order, fresh, hot and crunchy shrimp and crisp fries. Each came with a dipping sauce of Ranch Dressing or Sweet Chili Oil. Service is great at the counter or at the Kiosk, which has photos and the products categorized for easy browsing, ordering and payment. Moncha has a rewards program for loyal customers. I think this is a good pit stop for my route in the area. Parking entrance is on Valley, it is a small lot, fortunately I got a spot in front. Sincerely, Rosemary
This place is a hidden gem. It feels spacious and is very clean. The owner is nice and welcoming. The employee taking our order was informative and patient with us. Look for the MYSGV boba passport book at McKinley Elementary to get deals here, including 15% off through the year. Ordering is easy. Can either go up to the register or use the kiosks. There is plenty of cushioned seating available. Large tables, small tables, low and high. They have music going but it's not overly loud like at a lot of cafes. It still feels quiet, a good environment to sit and study at or to get work done.
They have seasonal drinks and their regular menu. Their drinks are pretty good. I also saw you can checkout their board games. Many tables and chairs.
Good beverage. Price is affordable. Good design on cup. I like the matcha. Will be back soon. I like the vibes here. I could do my homework here!
Assam milk tea was not overly sweet and it paired well with the brown sugar agar boba. We also ordered the seasonal drink Wind which was a sparking green apple and green grape tea, it was nice and refreshing
Moncha Cafe (est 2025) is a new boba tea in SGV. They are located at a corner plaza in Valley blvd and San Gabriel blvd. They have a modest selection of boba tea and snacks such as popcorn chicken. I made a quick stop by to grab their Strawberry Jasmine Green tea x Sakura boba. It was light and refreshing. Their popcorn chicken was decent bit crispier than most popcorn chicken in the entire valley. I won't it order again. Staff was nice, attentive and professional. Plenty off seats but most are occupied by young people playing mind craft cards or something. Overall, it's a decent tea shop.
I appreciate the intention of Moncha Cafe (Rosemead). I ordered the Iced Flower Tea ($5) with Brown Sugar Agar Boba (additional 75 cents). The tea is refreshing, crisp, and pleasant. Unfortunately, I sat on a sticky couch covered in long strands of old hair in a musty, unswept, grimy room while Staff casually rested by the counter. The location felt gross and unmaintained. I arrived at Moncha Cafe (Rosemead) on Tuesday - May 12, 2026 (at 12PM - Opening Time). The location was DIRTY! I quickly found parking in the small lot; it fits about 15 cars. Staff interaction felt nonexistent. Customers primarily order at the Self-Service Kiosk. I dislike how the kiosk requires a cell phone number to proceed. My drink took two minutes and 45 seconds. Quick. As mentioned, I ordered the Iced Flower Tea ($5) with Brown Sugar Agar Boba (additional 75 cents). YUM! The Iced Flower Tea is a combination of Chrysanthemum, Chrysanthemum buds, Osmanthus, and Gomphrena Amaranth Flowers. The tea is honey-like, crisp, and thirst quenching. Concerning the boba, it's floral with a grape-like texture; it's an acquired taste. On ambiance, Moncha Cafe (Rosemead) has wonderful potential. For example, I absolutely LOVE the plentiful electrical outlets, MANY boardgames for customers, and plush seating. There's also customer internet with password; details proudly displayed on the counter. And there's a gender neutral restroom. The lighting and art is also attractive. Unfortunately, during my visit, Moncha Cafe (Rosemead) reminded me of an unmaintained, public city bus. I have seen "B Grade" Businesses that are cleanlier... The crevices and corners are littered with crumbs; parts of the tables are sticky; the couches and cushions are entangled with long, old hair. Overall, Moncha Cafe (Rosemead) is not bad. I genuinely enjoyed their tasty, affordable tea. However, I don't feel comfortable enough to return if they're unable to maintain a standard of cleanliness. I was literally the first customer that day, and it was DISGUSTING. I hope this location improves... Drinks: 4.7 out of 5 Staff: 2 out of 5 Ambiance: 1 out of 5 Overall: 3.4 out of 5
We stopped by this spot while looking for some late night popcorn chicken. The price for the size of popcorn chicken was pretty good! The chicken was tender inside and perfectly crispy outside. The employee at the front was very nice and the interior aesthetic was laidback and modern. We really enjoyed the teapot/teaset that came with two cute little glass tea cups. You can ask for free water refills as you drink! It definitely feels like a great study spot or place to chat with friends at.
The tea is good. Cute cups and packaging. 25% sugar is not sweet (which I prefer) and it satisfies the craving. We selected this place to try something new and I can say it was worth trying. Is it to die for but worth trying. The tea has a good a good balance of both. Good serving size. The price was good as well. Boba was a little tough.
First time trying Moncha cafe and a pleasant experience! The workers were very nice and explained their new seasonal menu. We tried the Sakura Milk Tea (not my pick, but a good option if you like very floral flavors)! Also tried the Assam black milk tea with brown sugar agar boba. A good choice to get it a bit on the less sweet side as it runs a bit sweeter at baseline. The cups are very cute and the interior of the store had plentiful seating and outlets for hanging out/studying and playing board games! I'll have to come back next time to try some snacks :)
I have to bump this place up to 5 stars. I keep coming back here whenever I want a snack and a place to get work done. It's such a relaxing spot to sit down with some delicious popcorn chicken and stay focused for hours. The tables and seating are spacious, so it's great for both studying alone and hanging out with groups. I also love the convenient location right off Valley.
Drove by this location multiple times and I finally have a chance to try. They have a spacious spot with many tables. You can order from the kiosk or talk to the friendly staff. The owner happened to be there and explained the menu to me. He is Peruvian Chinese so his menu is inspired by that. The midnight milk tea comes from infused purple corn syrup that he makes in house. He was very friendly and offered me a variety of samples to try before ordering. I decided to order the mango green tea for my husband. He said that it was a good mango flavor, but could use more tea. I ordered the midnight jasmine milk tea because I really liked the purple corn syrup that he let me taste. I got that with the Sakura crystal Boba because that was infused with actual Sakura . I liked it a lot. It tasted yummy and not too milky and not too sweet. I also ordered the popcorn chicken. I like that there was a variety of seasoning you can choose. I got the garlic Parmesan for my child since she couldn't eat anything spicy and it was pretty good next time. I really wanna try the Chinese barbecue because it does have a hint of spices and that's what I like. Overall, if you want to come to a place to drink tea, have some snacks and play a variety of games with your friends, then this is the spot. They do offer card games, board games, and I did see a small set of Mahjong. Lastly, there are many parking spaces out front. read more

Saw the signage open up months ago when I drove down Valley but wasn't aware that it had recently opened until I saw the lights on one night. Browsed through Yelp and social media and saw that they're currently in their soft opening. Seems like they were in Pasadena in the past and doing catering events and selling out of small businesses - now they finally opened a storefront in Rosemead! Stopped by on a weeknight and ordered a few drinks. Menu is pretty simple with tea, milk tea, coffees, and specialties. I was intrigued about the midnight jasmine green tea, but the barista described it as a bubblegum flavored tea which I wasn't fond of. I ended up ordering the matcha latte, less sugar and ice - $6. This was my favorite drink out of the bunch. Wasn't too sweet, and had a good matcha flavor. I will say that I wished the matcha flavor was a little bit stronger. Would definitely order this again. Oolong milk tea with brown sugar agar boba ($5 + $0.50) with less ice and less sugar. The drink was good, but I felt that there was a lack of oolong tea flavor. It was a little bit on the milkier side. I did enjoy the agar boba, but the brown sugar added an extra sweetness to the overall tea. Assam black milk tea with brown sugar agar boba ($5 + $0.50) - less sugar and ice. I enjoyed this drink! They use nondairy creamer for the teas, which muted the sweetness. I could taste the tea flavor, and the agar went well with the tea. Currently they're having a soft opening promotion for 20% off and a free Assam tea with purchase. The Assam tea almost tasted like an herbal tea. Very refreshing, and not overly sweet. Interior is very spacious with lots of tables for studying or chatting. They have a lot of cute wall art, and I did see some games that customers can play. The workers were very friendly. It would be nice if they eventually add food to the menu. Also would be nice if they have a chewy boba option, as well as a cream top, but that's just my particular preference Parking lot is fairly spacious. Doesn't seem like there is much traffic in this plaza. tl;dr - another new mom and pop boba shop in the SGV! Hoping they continue to improve and be a stable boba shop in the near future. read more

Thank you for your kind words Tiffany! We are honored to hear that…
I checked out this new boba spot with a friend and decided to try their Arnold Palmer! I didn't really look into what they were known for. I just wanted something light and refreshing and it totally hit the spot! The drink was perfectly balanced: not too sweet, not too sour, just really refreshing overall. I'd definitely come back to try more of their drinks! The shop itself was spacious and super cute, with fun decor :) Parking was easy, though I can see the entrance being a little tricky since it's right by a busy intersection. I think my friend and I might've met the owner because he was incredibly sweet! He surprised us with free fries on the house! They were fresh, crispy, and perfectly seasoned. I'd honestly order them next time for sure. Great vibes, great service! Will come back! read more

Heard great things about this new tea spot in Rosemead, so I decided to stop by. It looks like they're in their soft launch right now and gearing up for a full opening. Upon entry, it's a cute little tea spot to hang out and chill, with a few photo areas. They have Wi-Fi and a good number of tables to relax or study. I came with a group of friends, and we tried a large assortment of teas. The owner even told us about some of their new Halloween drinks, which we got to try out. All the drinks I tried were perfectly made, and one standout was their Sakura Boba -- I 100% recommend getting it. They definitely have some unique drinks, so I'd love to come back and try some of the wilder ones. Parking: There's a small lot in front shared with a few other spots. It's not too big, but it was empty when I came at night. read more

Such a cute/clean café with fun, unique drink options! The passion fruit lemonade was very refreshing and everyone in my group liked their matcha. Also plenty of seating/tables if you want to come here and get some work done! Check it out if you're in Rosemead. read more

So new tea shop on the block so I had to go try it. It's currently on soft opening so they have two promotions and you can use both at the same time. The first promotion is 20% off and the second is a free assam iced tea (which is black tea). The free tea is sweetened. I ordered a Oolong Milk tea and I got it with regular sweetness and I would have to say it was good. They don't fill the cup with like 90% ice and it's not too sweet for regular sweetness. I usually like to try the full sweetness when I first try a place. The free assam tea was good too. It's sweet ice black tea. Not overly sweetened either. I like the cups they use, it's a premium cup that's nice a thick. Pricing of this place is very affordable, even without the promotion the drinks are affordable. It's around 5 dollars per drink, not filled with ice, so I would say it's worth the 5 bucks. The service was good, I had questions about the menu since it was my first time here. I asked about dairy free options and luckily the milk tea does have a dairy free creamer option. Yay for lactose intolerant people! They also have just regular tea as well. The inside of the place is very nice and clean. Has a upscale vibe and the music choose is quiet and not too loud. The music is pretty calm and smooth and definitely a place you can sit and chat or study. Parking for this place is good too. The parking is a one way so you need to enter on Valley and exit off Walnut Grove. It's a pretty low entry so it's low car friendly. Since it's a one way parking lot, you can take over the entire ramp if your car is super slammed to the ground to get up. I didn't have to take an extreme angle. Overall, solid 5/5! Highly recommend checking this place out. Their soft opening goes until 10/2 and currently has 2 promotions which you can stack! Not picking one or the other but you can use both! read more

Cute spot ! I ordered the pistachio milk tea and popcorn chicken. There is a little self kiosk system, but I suppose you can also order up front. I only saw one person working so I wasn't sure. The pistachio milk tea was yummy. I was told to be sure to stir it by the server so that was kind! (: the "chicken bites"or popcorn chicken was juicy, but I was craving something more crispy and spicy so maybe I didn't order to my liking. The kiosk is helpful, but it would be nice to have more info of items on the menu so I'm not missing out. lol! Otherwise, I would try more items again. The place is cute and a nice ambiance to bring a date and also study for a chill vibe. read more
I came here on a Thursday night, and it seemed like a nice spot to grab a drink and chill talking to friends or doing some computer work. The lady that helped me and my girlfriend when ordering the drinks was helpful and the drinks here were pretty good. The restroom here was clean as well. I would come back again to try more of their drinks. read more
Cute place for simple drinks. There are lots of tables with spacious seating for people to hang out or work. The parking lot is a one way entry, but shares with unbusy stores so theres plenty of parking. Drinks were fine, nothing special. read more
I got the popcorn chicken and the oolong tea no sweet with osmanthus jelly. I thought it was perfect as the jelly is naturally sweet which adds flavor to the unsweetened tea. The popcorn chicken was made really well as it was really crispy and it included a lot of condiments. The service was friendly and lots on seating, makes it perfect for a place to play games with friends, catch up, or even study. They also open late which is a plus. Would definitely come back read more

Came in here solo today and also met a fellow Content Creator! I met the owner Chu. Really great guy! This is a nice quiet place to enjoy snacks and drinks. I ordered an Ube Iced Latté and 6 egg rolls with sweet chili sauce to enjoy inside here. For the road, I got a Jasmine Green Milk Tea with cherry boba and garlic parmesian popcorn chicken. Everything tasted so good! Come check them out! I will definitely come back here when in the area!!! read more

The drinks were pretty good compared to the other well established boba stores around the area. The employees were nice and accommodating. They were super helpful, but it may have been since they weren't as busy when I went. This is a great place to study or hang with friends! read more

All in all it's a cozy tea shop. Came on a quiet Saturday afternoon to catch up on some work left over from the week. The parking lot is kind of small and shared by another business, but I didn't have any issues finding a spot. A kind lady took my order, and my food and drink promptly came out as I got settled in. Tea actually tastes like tea, big plus for me. My drink order, the citrus emerald oolong tea had what I assume is blue curacao complimenting the oolong and giving it that dark green color towards the bottom. Very refreshing and not overwhelmingly sweet which I like. As a study spot, they have nailed it. Free wifi, of course. The seats are comfy, and along the wall they have outlets, which is ideal. And while I was here there was ac running and smooth R&B music was playing. If not for the tea, I likely would have fallen asleep, haha. read more

I stopped by Moncha because I always have to check out all the new boba shops in San Gabriel Valley! I tried the jasmine milk tea 50% sweet and my partner tried the midnight green tea, 25% sweet. The midnight jasmine green tea is really unique because they use a blue Peruvian corn, which I've never seen anywhere else before! The service was great, and there's plenty of seating! This would make a great event space or meet up for larger groups. The only downside is the parking lot is only one way, so you have to enter using a specific entrance to enter. read more
Very cute lil boba shop located on the corner of Walnut Grove Ave. & Valley Blvd., across from McDonalds's. The parking lot it's very small, but it's never busy here. Stopped by twice, once during their soft opening and second time after their grand opening. First time we ordered the Iced Jasmine Green Tea with Sakura Boba & Arnold Palmer. Second time we ordered the Midnight Jasmine Milk Tea & Ube Latte with Sakura Boba. All the drinks are really good. Good cup size and affordable prices. Both times we ordered the self-kiosks. Very quick and nice service. read more

Soo happy we stumbled upon this place. Visited twice in the last two weeks already! Great place for studying with plentiful seating, comfy chairs, free WiFi, and even outlets for charging. They don't make places like this anymore! The drinks were so pretty and tasty too! We got strawberry limeade, jasmine green milk tea with sakura boba, jasmine green tea with lychee jelly, and oolong milk tea with agar boba (all drinks customized with less sugar). Everyone loved their order and we were able to enjoy without feeling too guilty about choices since their bobas are healthier alternatives. Last time we went, we also got a tasty order of fries, though we were eyeing their other snack foods as well. The owner was an incredibly nice, knowledgeable guy that obviously pours his heart into this little cafe. We will definitely be back! read more

First time at Moncha. Got the assam milk tea with lychee jelly and sakura milk tea. Both were very good. The square cups are very cute but didn't fit in my cars cup holder so I had to hold it while driving home. I definitely will be back to try their other flavors. read more

Delicious drinks and a great overall experience. The boba was excellent--well-balanced flavors and very fresh. Parking was easy with plenty of available spaces, which is always a plus. They also offer free games for guests, making it a fun spot to hang out rather than just grab a drink and leave. The best part, though, is the customer service. The guy helping us today was extremely friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcomed. You can tell they care about their customers. We'll definitely be coming back. read more

We stopped in for lunch and tried the Popcorn Chicken with three kinds of seasoning: Salt & Pepper, Garlic Parmesan, and Rotisserie Chicken. They were all good, but we especially loved the Garlic Parmesan. It took the chicken from great to excellent! We're usually low-carb eaters so we don't drink milk teas or boba drinks, but they had hot teas so we decided to try the Blooming Green Tea Pot and the Flower Tea Pot. Both were good, though the Blooming Green Tea was a bit more earthy and savory. They included a little pitcher of honey and spoons on the side to sweeten the tea. Overall we had a pleasant lunch here and would stop in again if we're in the area. Highly recommend if you're looking for something simple and tasty while reading a book or working on a laptop. The vibe was very relaxed and it's a nice quiet spot to take a lunch break or study. read more

Great place to study and isn't loud at all so I locked in for a long time here. Theres good Wifi and outlets in every booth. Small business and kind service. The food here is pretty good too and they personally give your order to your table which is very accommodating. One thing here is that the drinks aren't too up to par with other places in the area but everything else here makes up for it. Would come again and support this small business. :) read more
