I never would've known this boba place existed if it wasn't for the SGV passport, the portions that they give are more than generous. And the sweetness is just that, actually sweet. other boba places that charge an arm and a leg give you very little tea flavor and a lot of ice. You can definitely taste the difference here. A gentleman took my order, stamped my passport and gave me my drinks in a prompt manner. The mascots of this place are 3 dogs and there's a drink based on each one of them. It had a nice interior, a pretty good sized boba place. I've been seeing their advertisements and noticed they have popcorn chicken and other snacks, so I can't wait to come back and try them to see if they're as good as the drinks!
Stage Of Establishment: They've been officially open for about 5 months. Background On Visit: Due to the heatwave, I decided that I needed to cool down and quench my thirst. Credit Card: They're accepted. Restroom: There's a restroom you can use. Location/Parking: Located between Forest Grove and Woodville dr on Peck Road. Parking can be found in the shared parking lot Ambiance/Decor: Neat ambiance with modern furnishings. If you see some dog pictures on the wall, those are the owners' dogs. There's also some drinks named after them. This place can be a nice place to study or do some work. Entertainment: If you want to kill some time with your friends, they have board games towards the back of the shop to get get and play with. Service: Service was good. The staffer that took my order and made my drink was friendly and was informational about the shop. Drink Of Choice: I decided on the passionfruit green tea with boba, no ice, and 50% sweetness. Thought it was good and was able to taste the green tea. The boba was QQ (chewy, soft, springy, and tender). Comika For Thought: I would like to come back to try their popular oreo boba milk or their Lumi (Mixed Fruit Green Tea w/ Chia Seeds).
Customer service was really great! I came for the MySGV boba passport, and I was able to choose between a fruit tea or a boba milk. I decided on a passion fruit green tea (and it came with boba for the passport). I like the little bits of sweet passion fruit in the drink. The tea itself though was not the best in my opinion. The aftertaste after certain sips reminded me of cigarette smoke for some reason. But the boba itself had a good flavor! I would recommend trying it out if you're in the area. There are lots of tables to do work at too!
Came during a weekend afternoon. There was parking, but not many available. There were tables and chairs inside. It was busy when we went. Wanted the Matcha Brulee Boba Milk, but they said the SGV Passport only allowed for the redemption of Brown Sugar Boba Milk. Got the Brown Sugar Boba Milk less sweet. Did not like our drink at all. In fact, we couldn't finish it because it tasted so artificial and made our stomach hurt. Also, the boba was hard. Will not be returning.
Passionfruit tea with boba with 100% sweetness: It tasted like 75% sweetness to me not complaining because I usually less sweet. Their cafe was clean and great place to study. There are a couple of outlets on certain designated tables but not all the walls have outlets. Tables can range from 2 chairs to 4 chairs. There's a 10% discount for students.
Another great place to redeem a few drinks from the My SGV boba passport! I was not familiar with Comika, but I am now. The spot has generous amounts of parking in this complex. It's a quiet place with large tables for seating. You can find yourself here studying, working and/or relaxing. We ended up getting the Oreo and Taro Milk Teas for our SGV Boba Passports. The staff were nice enough to make them with oat milk without additional charge. The staff took great of us and we gave a cash tip. The drinks were completed quickly and we hung out there to drink them. My first impression was the boba was delicious. Some boba spot's boba don't taste that great, but their boba was made right and the complimented the drinks well. I'd definitely recommend the Oreo Milk Tea if you are a fan. The chunks of Oreo + boba made that for a great milk tea. Overall, great first visit! ( ^_^)b

My husband got the Oreo Boba Milk Tea with oat. The drinks only took a few minutes to prepare. Be sure to mix well. If you don't remember to do so, the cashier will remind you. My drink was yummy! I was impressed with how well the boba was cooked and tasted. I hardly ever get boba in my milk teas anymore, I was glad I didn't ask to take it out. It was coated in brown sugar, or at least that's what it tasted like to me. The taro flavor still came through, despite the boba being sweet. It was delicious, subtlety sweet, and easy to mix. I really enjoyed it! I finished my drink before my husband. Comika is a spacious location and very quiet. They have a few tables and a shared public restroom. You order at the counter, there's no kiosk. The cashier will help explain which drinks apply to the passport. Parking is shared with other businesses in the plaza. Lots of parking and shared with other establishments. They serve both small bites and drinks. The snack set has really good value because of its portion and pairing. Offers free wifi and a quiet environment for work or study. Restrooms are cleaned and well maintained. I had the creme brulee boba milk, and for the happy hour combo (for mom) i got it with a jasmine tea and the popcorn mushroom- just the right amount if sweet and saltiness. Great place overall!
Comika Boba House (El Monte) is not bad. I ordered the Honey Milk Tea ($5.50) with Boba (no extra cost). It's unmemorable, but it's a "good enough" budget drink. I enjoyed the flat tea taste; however, I disliked those boba pearls. The boba had the texture of gummy, melted marshmallows. I liked its sweetness, but they were not bouncy nor perky. Unfortunately, as time progressed, the boba started to grow rigid and rubbery. I arrived at Comika Boba House (El Monte) on Wednesday (around 1:02PM). Parking is simple. There's a busy, competitive customer lot. I quickly found a parking spot. Staff is pleasant and welcoming. Staff worked quickly and diligently. When finished, Staff speedily moves to the back. My drink took three minutes and 25 seconds. As mentioned, I ordered the Honey Milk Tea ($5.50) with Boba (no extra cost). The drink is not bad. It's unmemorable, but it's also thirsty quenching, big, & very affordable. It's a harmless drink. My biggest gripe was its bad boba pearls. If I ever returned, I wouldn't touch that poorly prepared boba. At the very least, the drink is definitely a little better than tea prepped at a McDonalds. On ambiance, Comika Boba House (El Monte) is a breath of fresh, welcomed air. This business is a GOOD study/work spot. It's clean, comfortable, and has a cute dog aesthetic. There's customer internet with password; details are displayed on the wall. Also, there's about four electrical outlets. There's a gender neutral restroom for customers, and there's an appreciated Game Corner. The Game Corner includes Settlers of Catan, Chess, Connect 4, Uno Cards, and more. In addition, Comika Boba House (El Monte) is well-ventilated and plays clear instrumental music. The location has about six tables. It's a very comfortable spot for locals to work, study, and gather. Overall, Comika Boba House (El Monte) is not bad. It's a GOOD place for local students to study/work/chat. It's also a solid BUDGET spot for locals. The cashier was very nice we had a conversation of what we tried from the passport, but we kept our conversation short because there was a line. Our drinks were quickly made. Comika is somewhat new, and had their soft opening some time in March. It's located in the same plaza as Ocean Bo dim sum, and the large parking lot sometimes does fill up. The name Comika, from what I heard, is taken from the last 2 letters of their 3 dogs: Coco, Lumi and Luka. On the wall near the rear, there are many photos of their pups, plus some of other fur babies. Their menu is posted on the wall by the counter. Tables can seat 2 to 4 and there are some board games in a shelf in the back, which gives the impression it's a cool place to hang out. Drinks: the mango and strawberry cloudies are very good at 50% sweetness. They're fruity, smooth and refreshing. The Coco, which is brown sugar boba milk with cheese foam is also good, but need to be stirred and sipped with the lid off. Side note, these aren't the best lids as they capture the drink and leak everywhere once you take the lid off. I also tried their Vietnamese coffee, and have to say it was one of the weakest I've had. Even with light ice, it wasn't bold at all. It's a nice spot to grab a drink and/ or snack. I would recommend the cloudies, but not the Viet coffee if you like 'em strong and bold.
Stopped by because of the SGV boba passport but will be a returning customer! The strawberry matcha latte was fresh and well balanced. The popcorn chicken portion was generous with cuts of meat that are juicy. I don't like the anemic popcorn chicken that are super crispy cuz there's no meat. No problem here! Nicely seasoned and tender. Lastly the lime fruit tea is refreshing on a hot summer day. It sits in a plaza with easy parking and lots of yummy food for dine in or Togo!
(Review based on 3.5 stars) Comika Boba House is the newest boba tea house in this plaza, on this side of El Monte. Located in the same plaza as LA Houseware and Corner Beef Noodle House, specifically next door to Ocean Bo Dim Sum Cafe. There is shared parking in the plaza. Comika Boba House is named after the owners' 3 shih tzus, Coco, Lumi and Luka. You can see a cute cartoon version on them on the menus. But if you want to see a photo of the actual 3, you will find them in the unisex restroom. My husband and I stopped by this tea house this past Saturday, taking advantage of their grand opening for the buy one get one free drink special. We found parking and walked in a little before 3:30 pm. We were greeted when we came in and ended up ordering the following: The Lumi, $6.50 prior to tax- This drink is a green tea made with mixed fruit and chia seeds. My husband ordered this drink to be made with 0% sugar and no ice. My husband did not like this drink very much because the chia seeds were not mixed in and felt it was way too much in the drink itself. He also didn't think the drink was was refreshing and felt the drink was watered down. I didn't try any of his drink. The Luka, 6.50 prior to tax- This drink is a strawberry shortcake cloud, made with "house milk" and a strawberry puree. I ordered this drink to be made with 25% sweetener. If I was to order this next time, I would order this as 0% sweetener since the strawberry puree does add sweetness, which the employee who took my order did warn me. I thought this drink was good but a little on the sweeter side for myself. This drink it s blended drink and was nice for the hot day that we came. --------------------------------- (Total= $7.20 after tax and special buy one get one free grand opening special) Wait time for our drinks was ~12 minutes. There are a few small tables with chairs. We just ended up sitting and relaxing a bit while we were here. I really like the cute logo and the meaning behind the name. But honestly, I probably wouldn't come back, as I am not normally in this area. But I do wish this business all the best and hope they will make it (as this location has been a few other tea houses in the past).

Rating for Study + Remote work: 5 out of 5 stars! Ordered the mango matcha latte with 50% sweetness and it's perfect if you prefer to taste the hand-whisked matcha but still have some sweet flavor :) Service was good - got served right away and the worker was pretty chill! Came at around 11am and needed a place to do some remote work and had plenty of seating to choose from. There are outlets for the seating close to the bathroom if you need to charge devices, and the free WiFi works fine! No music was playing when I got here, so it's great if you love to have a quieter environment to study/work in. They had bunch of pictures of dogs around the cafe, and this provided some motivation whenever I needed some extra serotonin during my focus session lmao Will come back when I need to work remotely in this area :) read more
Came here because it was feature on the SGV Boba Passport. The choices were one free fruit tea or one free boba milk. I decided to try the orange green tea and my sister ordered the pudding boba milk. The orange green tea was really refreshing and tasted like fresh oranges. My sister enjoyed her drink as well. Parking is not too bad here but the parking spots is a bit tight. read more
Parking: This place is located in a shared plaza with a dim sum and dumpling place. The lot is pretty big and has plenty of parking spaces. You won't have trouble finding a spot. If you do there's street parking available. Brown Sugar Boba Milk Tea: I got this drink at 25% sweetness and it was still a tad too sweet for me. I think it was because of the brown sugar boba. Other than that the drink was pretty decent. I loved that their boba is very fresh. Dog Wall: If you have a fur baby you love, make sure to DM them on their Instagram (@comika_bobahouse) to have your baby be featured on their photo wall. Overall: This is a really cute place to bring friends to hang out and enjoy drinks. I would say the menu is a bit basic but the worker was very friendly. I found out about this spot from word of mouth! Such a great boba spot! The strawberry and mango boba were so good both tasted like they were made with homemade syrup! The shop has a cute dog theme, and I'm pretty sure the dogs featured are the owners I think they were even there when I visited, which made the experience even better. The space is modern, clean, and really inviting. Prices are affordable, they have WiFi if you want to get some work done, and even games if you're just there to hang out with friends. This boba spot has changed hands a few times. I noticed they were in soft opening and decided to check it out since it replaced Mana Tea House and the boba shop that came after it. The service was very friendly, they explained their drinks to us and mentioned that many more items will be coming soon. We ended up ordering their signature drink named after the owner's dog, "The Luka." It was quite tasty, though even at 25% sweetness it was still pretty sweet, so I think 0% would probably be just right. It felt almost like a dessert, very milkshake-like, but overall we enjoyed it. I really hope this spot survives since we're always in the area. They mentioned fried items coming in the future, and I'm especially looking forward to when they open their kitchen and start making popcorn chicken. read more

We used Comika Boba's catering service for our daughter's graduation party and I cannot recommend them enough! They came fully prepared to serve 100+ guests and did not run out of anything. We chose 3 drinks, strawberry matcha, taro boba milk, and Thai tea. Everyone was ranting about the delicious handcrafted drinks and loved their positive vibes and friendly service. And another thing: THE BOBA WAS SO FRESH. The personalized menu was such an adorable touch. Thank you SO MUCH for helping to make our event so memorable. read more

Very clean and cute boba place that is dog friendly. I got the chia seed fruit tea with lychee jelly and found they put so many slices of limes it took a bunch of volume out of the tea and the seeds were not pleasant to find as I'm taking sips of my drink. It was like a whole lime they put in my drink! One or two slices I get, the amount didn't add but rather took away from enjoyment. Came to grab some tea after work and I got the brown sugar milk tea, it wasn't super sweet but I lowkey wanted that sugar, but that's just me. I do prefer the coco one of their signatures! It's good! They serve snacks too, my son really liked their fries. We ordered it mild not too spicy. I often stop by when picking up vapes next door. The guys at the cash register is really helpful and is a fairly quiet and clean inside. read more

I got the drink called the Luka. The drink itself tasted like strawberry shortcake. When asked Taylor, the owner/cashier she said that the drink itself will be on the sweeter ends. I gotten my drink at 50% and it was still a bit too sweet for me but surprisingly I finished the whole cup before I got home. My drive back was at most 10mins. I'm usually not a chugger but it just proved that it's really good. Must go back and tried their non blended drink next time. Menu will be expanding in the future. cutie new boba shop! love the vibes and cozy and modern aesthetic. very clean and spacious and plenty of tables - great for students to study at or to hang out and play table games. music isn't too loud, which is a plus! ordered the luka at 25% sweet (I love a good blended drink) and got hubs the lumi. luka was perfectly blended and the perfect sweetness (I order 75% at other tea shops). the salted cheesy cream balanced out the drink so well. my daughter says it tasted like ice cream and I agree. sadly missed out on their free boba promotion (my own fault). lumi was so refreshing and fruity. loved the chia seeds for textural contrast and the lime slices for presentation. can't wait to come back and try the other drinks! give this small boba shop a try instead of the chains with +1hr lines! read more

Love Comika!!! The matcha latte was both creamy and earthy at the same time, and the strawberry added a really nice sweetness to the drink. I thought the fried tofu would be pretty standard to other boba shops, but this one was pillowy soft on the inside, and perfectly crispy on the outside! This boba place has been changing the owner fews times but this time COMIKA finally has "coffee" in the menu which is a plus for me who works in the same plaza. All of the staffs is nice and friendly, cleanliness is a must that I always look at. The new design is simple, bright white color is nice and it will be great if have some greens. Music is not loud but enough to chill. The air conditioning is not bad, not too cold compared to most of the restaurants or boba place I have been. I can't wait for their grand opening. So I can try more drinks on the menu especially the three signature. read more

I'm reviewing just the popcorn chicken only. It took about 15 minutes for it to be ready but it was worth the wait! The popcorn chicken was definitely made fresh to order, hot and delicious. Perfectly cooked with crispy batter. The seasoning was close to authentic Taiwanese spice, and missing the thai basil but other than that it was pretty dang good! read more

New boba shop in El Monte and I'm excited to give it 5-stars. I don't usually like soft openings because it's messy, people are learning, and you really, really need to have limited expectations. But we were swept off our feet by their service, patience, and friendliness. Then, we were wowed by their drinks. They were very accommodating and answered all our questions. Even questions we were probably not supposed to ask! A big plus is that the boba pearl toppings are free (if you want it)! We got everything 75% because most boba shop drinks are full of sugar and so yeah... Their drinks were not too sweet and definitely good. Since we drive by often, we will be back to try other drinks and popcorn chicken, when their kitchen opens up. Note: It was a clean refreshing interior that was recently remodeled. It looks like a nice place to sit and study or catch up with friends. BTW, parking lot seemed to be busy and packed. It's next to a dim sum restaurant, so not sure if that makes the plaza busier. read more

Love that they use fresh fruits for their signature drinks. The Luka 50% sweet was perfect for my taste, and there was a noticeable difference in freshness. Popcorn chicken was great too. My friend and I enjoyed studying there...it had outlets, board games, and overall a clean and chill vibe. There were some Wi-Fi issues when we went but the owners were apologetic and attentive on resolving it. I'll update for when I try their signature taro. read more

Cute new boba spot opened up in El Monte. We were in the area and saw that they were set up for the ribbon cutting ceremony. We were greeted by friendly staff when we walked up and the workers were all very nice. We tried their Passionfruit Tea with Lychee Jelly and Mango Matcha Latte.
