Amazing menu, really tasty food too! I love how late they are open! Perfect for student food or a late night date snack. I got the crispy tofu and strawberry milk, total comfort food for me. The tofu is lightly seasoned which makes it almost good enough on its own but the dipping sauce is so yummy and they give you plenty for the order. I loved the strawberry milk and the boba was nice and soft. The service was great, very friendly and fast! The atmosphere and style are great too, very well thought out, combined with an amazing menu selection it really is the whole package. One of my new favorite places for sure!! read more

Came last Friday night-- place was packed inside but ordering via self kiosk was pretty seamless. Let me just preface by saying: I've been to the Summerfield Tea Bar in Garden Grove several times, and I've never really had much of a bad experience even though they were usually quite busy. This visit was all okay until I received a text on my phone that my order was ready. I went up to the counter and simply stated I was going to pick up my order under a certain number, and the female worker was quite rude. She looked at me with a blank face and attitude stating "what's the name?!" even though the text states the order #, which also appears on their printout that they attach to their drinks and food orders. But honestly, it would've been nice to have a worker at least saying "hi or how can I help you" instead of the customer doing all the nice talk. Anyways, we got the combo with the wintermelon milk tea (came with grass jelly + added boba), osthamnthus bloom milk tea (came with crystal boba + added boba), french fries, and popcorn chicken. Milk teas were decent and had a good flavor-- not the best and not the worst. The wintermelon milk tea was better than the osthamnthus bloom milk tea in flavor profile. The french fries and popcorn chicken were made crispy, which was great. Overall, I would prefer going back to the Garden Grove location even if the menu items are the same-- at least the service is better and friendly. Every time I've gone in, there seems to be no one at the front counter because the employee is always in the back. Instead of being greeted or helped right away, customers are left standing around waiting for someone to come out. If employees need to work in the back, the store should at least have a bell or some kind of way to notify them that a customer is waiting. It shouldn't be the customer's responsibility to stand there and wonder when someone will finally come out. The lack of attention to customers makes the experience feel unwelcoming and poorly managed. The drinks may be okay, but good customer service is just as important. Hopefully management can address this issue because it's frustrating to repeatedly wait around just to place an order. read more

Went here to get away from the heat, ordered the jasmine and thai milk tea. The place was filled with students occupying all the seats. I guess that's fine and all, but sometimes the clients should probably occupy the stools instead of 1 person to the four seaters. The teas, ummm, maybe it was an off day. They all tasted diluted and not quite what I would expect as a baseline. The popcorn chicken were small pieces, over half of them were so small you were eating 4:1 batter, not great. I wish they cared more for the drinks and food, but I guess if it's a study hub, they can serve whatever they want and they'll order it anyway. Having consistently visited from time to time since their grand opening, I've come around to love plenty of their drinks. My favorites are their snow series (mango snow) to be specific. Very refreshing on a warm day and it comes with mango stars as a topping. The stars are very flavorful and not too sweet as well. Other drinks include the Osmanthus Bloom MT. One concern I had before was that their boba balls were pretty hard, but after many visits, they've seem to fixed the problem. Plenty of their problems before such as long wait times, and constant kiosks problems have been fixed. Summerfield gets pretty packed almost every evening plus they open until very late which draws plenty of people visiting to chat, play games, etc. They've been open for awhile now and it's still pretty clean. Love the consistency in their drinks and cleanliness. Staff is friendly and quick as usual. I've recently tried their House French Fries. Other places have just regular fries but Summerfield fries are absolutely amazing. It's crispy and the fries are covered with their own special BBQ mix. Texture is amazing and taste is just as amazing. Not tough and the fries are soft but not too soft. One of the best French fries I had ever in my life and it's not even close. Highly recommend purchasing some fries. Overall, very happy with the improvements as my wife and I love to visit with friends to play card games or just to chat. read more

Since its opening, I've been to Summerfields over 50+ times and it's remained my top 3 bobas of choice. I really love the drive thru option Summerfields has. It's so unique and convenient to make a quick stop for boba. Their drive thru is surprisingly fast. I also love ordering from the mobile app which makes getting my drink way faster. They use to have really great deals like bogo $1 on food and drinks but as of late there aren't any deals :( The interior of summerfields is really nice and modern. There is plenty of seating but I wouldn't recommend this place as a study spot as it can get noisy and very lively. Mango Snow: my go to drink and I get nine out of ten times. Came by here for a Friday lunch/snack, was craving popcorn chicken! This was the nearest one to me and haven't checked it out before, so sureee. Very cool that they have a drive-thru here! The space is very pretty and nice lighting. Definitely very clean and cozy. Plenty of parking. Ordering was quite easy since it was at the kiosk. The popcorn chicken was about $10, which is kinda up there for the price... also for the portion size, they use this paper to funnel it in a cup, which reduces the portions of having it actually it the cup they serve. The chicken pieces are also on the smaller end, not so chunky... I feel like the crunch texture was there, but they're missing that taiwanese spice and basil. The flavor was not quite there. I went for a late night drive-thru and had a hot green tea x boba and popcorn chicken x ranch sauce. Their breaded popcorn chicken is soft, tasty and by far the best I had ever tasted in the SGValley. Similarly, hot tea was okay. Drive-thru was convenient. Female staff was nice and affable. Prices seem fairly higher than most tea shops; they charge $1 for toppings and/or dipping sauces (ketchup, ranch and sweet sour chilli). Service was spot on. This is my 4th or 5th time here since their opening. I have tried their original boba milk tea, ceylon milk tea with mochi, Jasmine milk tea, and their new osmanthus milk tea. To be honest, all of their teas taste basic as in they taste on the lower end when it comes to tea quality. The upside is that the drinks I ordered all have toppings included in their price. I think I have always paid under $7 for a drink at this place. When I got the email about their new item Osmanthus milk tea coming out 7/1, I was pretty excited. I finally tried it out today and was pretty disappointed. The tea was overly floral and tasted artificial. I've had osmanthus milk tea from other places, and have grown a liking to it, but sadly this version was the worst one I've had. Their drinks also don't allow you to customize the sweetness more than regular, less, or none. I am glad they can do no ice though. I usually get no ice to taste the tea as is without it being diluted. The upside to this place is the interior. There is a lot of seating. This is probably the most seating I have seen at a boba shop. They definitely encourage hanging out or doing tasks indoors in their seating area. It is nicely air conditioned and has a lot of natural lighting. I'd recommend if you can find a seat to enjoy the interior. Service inside is mostly self order at kiosk. They are pretty fast with their drink preparation. I think I waited less than 5 min for my drink. Drive thru is also pretty efficient. They accept card only. All in all, if you want a place with ample seating to hang out or avoid the heat for a few hours, this isn't a bad place. Their tea isn't the best, but also not terrible. I was looking for a late night fast food place to eat that served Asian food. I wasn't in the mood to dine in so I was thrilled to find out that Summerfield Tea Bar not only served fast food but that they had a drive thru option which is quite rare! I got the miso salad paired with the popcorn chicken which came out nice, crispy and hot. I'll be back again to try their drinks and other dishes. One thing I noticed was that the host forgot to give me utensils to eat my salad, so I had to drive back to request one - but it happens. I still am a frequent customer here, and it's a consistent spot to get a nice drink while working remote! Everything is still true in my previous review, however I have noticed that the music here is often times super loud, making it hard to work without noise cancelling headphones. I sometimes have a hard time hearing my friend who is often sitting across or right next to me. Other than that, their drinks have been great and I'm so happy about the new Munchie Combo addition to the menu! The combos are super appealing because you can get a drink for essentially another couple dollars, which is a steal if you ask me since most of the time I'm getting a snack. Their app has also been really helpful so I can snag a seat during rush hours without having to wait in line for the kiosk. But the problem is when I go to pick up my order at the counter, I am simply asking to the male worker if I could get a bag for my order. And he unwillingly puts my order into the bag and throw towards me. I still said thank you and walked out but what am I even thanking for? His reluctant attitude and service? I am not happy with the customer service and if he doesn't want to interact with customers, he shouldn't be working customer facing positions. I usually end up ordering plain green tea with vanilla foam to make it creamy, and after adding boba it's around $8, which is kind of pricey. Was craving popcorn chicken so I stopped by on the way home for some. I went through the drive-through since it was a hot day, and it was convenient ordering. However, after ordering the girl gave me the receipt at the window and I noticed they selected the Sweet Chili sauce even though they didn't ask when I was ordering in the beginning. So when the food was ready, I asked them if they could give the ranch sauce. But they said extra sauce would be extra charge. I guess I should have specified that I didn't ask for the Sweet Chili sauce but it was annoying that they couldn't just give me the ranch. Also why did they default to the sweet chili sauce when they didn't even ask when I was ordering. Next time I will order through the app to avoid this kind of mistake. The worst of it all was the popcorn chicken was not as good as during the grand opening. They fried it a bit too long so some of it was hard. Also they seasoned it wayyy too salty! Without the ranch sauce, it was so hard to finish the chicken. The sweet chili sauce just didn't hit the same way as the ranch. I was super thirsty after finishing it and also just disappointed. I paid with card at the window and waited about 5-10 min for the food. However I noticed they gave me sweet chili sauce even though I didn't ask for it. When I asked for ranch instead, they said it would be extra cost. I was appalled because they chose the sauce without asking me first and then wouldn't give me a different sauce. Upon entering, the menu is largely displayed on the wall and you can order at a kiosk (or a person if they are there). Great place to hang out with friends and enjoy. They have some good combos that include a latte or fruit tea with a snack and the snacks are nicely sized. I started with a matcha latte with oat milk and basil seeds, I didn't even remember I ordered the banana flavor until the looked at my receipt. I think there might have been an error cause there was no banana flavor in my drink as I'm finishing it up now or the banana cream top is just very faint. The matcha is pretty good though. For the combo, I got the Jasmine Latte that comes with Honey Boba and crystal boba with crispy tofu (spicy). An average boba shop in the SGV. I have visited with my partner multiple times. I like that there is a drive-thru, but the line does look long sometimes. It might be faster to just order the drinks in the store. The wait time has always been pretty quick. The milk teas and fruit teas here are decent. What isn't good is the honey boba, which is always too hard (undercooked) and unenjoyable to chew. For a topping, I would stick with grass jelly or mango stars. My favorite drinks are the Aloha Tea and Remember Me, whereas the worst drink I've tried was the Uji Matcha Freeze, which was not blended well, so it just felt like eating a bunch of chunks of ice. In addition, the creme brulee spread was very faint. What I like most about this place is that it is quite spacious with an adequate amount of seating. However, I was a little disappointed when I got there and I realized the service is a little slow in the drive-thru and the drinks (at least the fruit drinks) are pretty artificial. I tried the Aloha, and it tasted completely of syrup, though I'm not sure what flavor because all of the flavors combined kind of muddled together. I also had a hard time getting the mango stars through the straw, so while I appreciated the concept of the stars, I think I'd rather stick with a good old lychee jelly. I've been to Summerfield about three times now, and honestly, it felt like a classic case of "the first time was the best time." The very first visit a few months ago was fantastic. I can't even remember the exact drink I ordered, but I do remember it being the perfect level of sweetness. I chose 75%, and it was spot on. My husband ordered the oolong milk tea, and that was delicious too. We left thinking we had found a new go-to boba spot. Then came visit number two...and three...and unfortunately, that's where things started going downhill. The second time, my cup had a crack in it and was leaking from the bottom. To their credit, they were nice enough to replace it quickly. But the drink itself, which was the exact same one I ordered the first time, tasted completely different. My 75% sweetness tasted more like 10%. It was barely sweet at all. By the third visit, it was as if someone forgot sugar existed entirely. Same drink, same sweetness level, three completely different results -- and somehow each one got worse. I'm not sure if it's different staff making drinks without following the same recipe, but the inconsistency is honestly ridiculous. When you're paying for boba, you want it to taste like the drink you ordered, not a surprise experiment every time. The place itself is great: plenty of parking, lots of indoor seating, modern vibe, very inviting atmosphere. But unfortunately, the drinks don't live up to the space.
