It's nice to see something new taking over the old Burger King spot. Da Vien quickly caught my eye. I was excited to see a coffee shop that's not Starbucks. My family and I decided to make a stop in today as it was a very hot 100 degree day and the heat was making us all tired. I ordered ... 1. Egg Cream Coffee (4/5) The egg cream topping is well-known to the Vietnamese beverage world. I've certainly had my fair share of them. Da Vien's egg cream coffee was pretty solid, but lacked the "egginess" that is known for making this drink unique. The egg cream part was subtly eggy, but mostly tasted like vanilla whilst being very thick. The sweetness of the cream was perfect and the coffee itself was solid; rich in espresso and gave me the pick-me-up I needed. Minus 1 star cause I wish they give the option to make the drink 0% sweetness (other than the sweetness from cream part). The lowest sweetness level you can adjust down to is 30%, which makes me believe that they use coffee creamer in their drinks. I say this too because towards the end of my drink, the cup was filled with that addicting cinnamony-hazelnutty aroma that usually comes from coffee creamers. These coffee creamers naturally have added sugar to them, which would make sense as to why you cannot adjust the sweetness level down any further. 2. Strawberry Milk Matcha & Ube Cream (3/5) This one was my brother's drink. He described it as drinking Nesquik strawberry milk, but topped with a thick layer of matcha and ube cream. The drink came with matcha cream, but he added the ube cream as extra, so if became matcha-ube cream. The matcha cream had a decent matcha flavor and the ube added a pleasurable sweetness that satisfied his taste buds. Despite getting "less sweet," this drink was overwhelmingly sweet, even for my brother, who is a sweet-tooth. I'd come back again if I was in the area and really craving coffee, but probably wouldn't go out of my way as their drinks are not exceptional. I do like that they have dine-in and drive-thru options. The drive-thru option will probably be what I use if I were to come back to get a quick pick-me-up sweet treat. read more

This is officially THE best Da Vien location in the 626. I've been to the other 626 locations several times, but for some reason the drinks have never tasted quite as good as the OC shops...so glad this Arcadia one opened! Normally, I get their classic vietnamese coffee but was looking for something a bit lighter and sweeter. Ended up getting the Einspanner Cream Coffee ($7 for large) and it was perfect! The staff was friendly. They came around TWICE offering complimentary samples of the Matcha Einspanner and Peach Tea. Both were delicious, although a little sweeter than my preference. I'll definitely be back to try them again with sugar adjustments. One of the biggest perks is the drive-thru. Online ordering is currently available for drive-thru pickup only. If you're ordering inside, you can either use the self-service kiosk or order directly with the cashier. Really great service and super spacious for working! Their menu is quite big focusing on lots of cream top flavors. Their coffee is quite strong but it looks like you can adjust the caffeine level. My only note is I wish they provided more milk options behind just whole and oat milk. Their drinks also tend to lean a bit sweet so I adjust down. I got the black sesame latte this time and the black sesame cream on top was DELICIOUS. It took up half my drink which is a bit much for a cream top but it is very good. read more

Da Vien is muy bien that will change a frown to a grin. From the beginning to the end it was definitely a win but you have to taste it for yourself so you can comprehend. I've been to their other locations in OC so I kinda knew what to expect. I ordered the Sesame Latte which was smooth and nutty with a rich flavor like it promised and after my first couple of sips I was blasting off man! Believe me, if you fiend for some caffeine then this is definitely a dream! The service was good and it's also a drive thru so one can get their drink in a good amount of time. The parking is challenging depending on the time of day. Oh, they also have a spacious patio area if there's no seats available inside. Was happy to hear that Da Vien was opening closer to where I live so I went to their grand opening. They have giveaway bags with a tumbler, keychain, and free drink voucher in a tote bag for the first 400 lined up. I showed up early to line up and managed to make it in the 400. I was in line for 3 hours until I made it inside. I was excited to get the free drink but turned out the free drink is only for their Marble Drip and it can only be used after the grand opening and valid for 1 month. I was disappointed since their social media was advertising free drink and didn't mention anything about it only being for a specific drink and not valid until the next day. The other goodies were still nice and cute but just sad to not get a free drink when it was ambiguous- they made it seem like you get it that day and it would be for any drink and not coffee. It just felt misleading and not very honest. For that, I had to lower my rating. I still ended up ordering an Einspanner Matcha Latte just because I was already there. They decorated the interior very nicely and have a drive-through and outdoor patio seating as well. There is also a kiosk for easy ordering. Drink was pretty good like their other locations, but matcha at other boba shops are also good too. Will be back to use the voucher and if they do promos. read more

As long-time loyal customers of the Rosemead location, we were genuinely thrilled when Da Vien announced a new location closer to home. We even came out the day before for the soft launch to show our support and grab some drinks, so needless to say, we were fully invested in this opening. When we saw they were advertising a free tote bag with goodies for the first 400 people in line, we made sure to show up at 8:30am, a full 30 minutes before the 9am opening and waited two and a half hours, committed to being part of the grand opening. What we never knew (because it was never advertised) was that a separate voucher system existed. Apparently vouchers had been handed out earlier that morning, and people were taking them, leaving, and coming back later to claim their gift bag without ever waiting in line. We had absolutely no idea any of this was happening. It would have been nice to have been informed out this while we were waiting in line, at literally any point. We only found out we needed a voucher when we finally reached the cashier after 2.5 hours of waiting. By that point, there were still hundreds of tote bags sitting right there- more than enough stock- but we were turned away because we didn't have a voucher that was never mentioned in any of the promotion. The cashier assisting us did not even attempt to speak with the manager in helping resolve the issue. If the voucher system had been advertised or made know, we simply would have grabbed one early and wait in line or come back. Instead, we stood in line the entire time while others who didn't wait at all walked in and collected their bags. We came out the day before, showed up early, and waited over two hours- and still left empty-handed. As fellow Vietnamese people we have loved this brand for years and wanted to support them. But misleading your most loyal, committed customers is a disappointing way to launch a new location. Hopefully they do better- first impressions matter, even to long time supporters. Drinks as usual though were fantastic as always. My favorite is the banana matcha, there is such a good balance of banana flavor and matcha- the banana does not overwhelm! Parking is very easy since there is a huge lot so no need to worry there. There's a lot of tables and seating with an outside patio as well. It would seem like a good place to grab a drink and chill/ study. Needless to say this was NOT a pleasant experience and I am severely disappointed. read more

I'm glad we are finally having Vietnamese Coffee options close to us in the SGV. Came around 4:18 pm on a Monday and there was no wait in the drive thru so that was really nice. My online order was already ready so that made things more convenient and not so time consuming. I tried their strawberry cream oat matcha for the first time and it was really tasty but I do have to say that the cream top was a bit thick so I had to wait for it to settle. I've tried more coffee based drinks at the Rosemead location but not their matcha so I'm glad I tried it out. I would recommend giving it a try. read more

So excited that this location is closer to me and has better parking than the Rosemead location. I especially like that you can enter and exit off of Las Tunas or Live Oak. So glad Da Vien took over the old Burger King spot! Loved their Rosemead location, and this new soft-open spot is just as good. We came right after church and it was packed, but everything moved incredibly fast. The inside has beautiful decor and amazing A/C for a hot summer day. Ordering via the kiosk is simple, the staff is super friendly, and the drive-through is insanely efficient with plenty of parking. The staff told us the name means "ice cube" and they source strong, rich Robusta beans straight from Vietnam. The bold coffee flavors pack a serious kick, and their specialty fruit teas are unique and refreshing. We got an Ube Matcha latte, it was fantastic! Roll through and get cracked out on their Cafe SuDa (Vietnamese Ice coffee for all my light skin friends in the back.) This shop took over the Burger King (RIP king) so they have the infrastructure for a drive through so literally y'all can "roll" through. Ok objectively, been to this location a couple times now; during soft launch and post grand opening. Soft launch was slow but growing pains gonna be painful, but returned and pleased with the quality and speed of service. The coffee is consistent for a family owned business, on par with other Da Vien locations and the cracked out caffeine fix I need to feel the crushing weight of life again. This place deserves another 5 stars for the price point of each drink, very fair for the quality you're getting & I hope they keep up this quality & price moving forward. I was genuinely excited when I heard this Da Vien location was opening. Since I'm no longer close to their Rosemead spot, having one just a few blocks away felt like a win. I missed the grand opening here because I was out of town, but I did visit the Rosemead opening and it was fine overall. I saw some reviews from people who had a rough experience during this location's grand opening, but honestly--what can you expect when they're giving out Pokémon cards? Of course it's going to be packed, hectic, and a little chaotic. Even though I haven't stepped inside yet, I've gone through the drive‑thru twice: once during their soft opening and once after they officially opened. Both times were great. The banana matcha is amazing! I got 0% sugar and mixing in the banana cream top really elevated the flavor, creating this rich, creamy consistency that is simply exquisite. No longer a BK and now a DV!! Major upgrade also kept the drive thru!! Soft opening this weekend June 13 to test out operations with grand opening on June 27. Everything was working right. Ordered through the Mobile app, drove down said hi to friendly workers, picked up drinks they were ready and waiting for us. My daughter ordered the new strawberry cream oat latte and inhaled it so no pics but it tasted like strawberry chocolate.. so good. and of course I had to get the banana matcha. welcome to the neighborhood Da Vien! There is plenty of indoor seating and also outdoor tables. I'm sure they'll do some sort of covering but for now stay indoors it's too hot outside or wait for the sun to set and enjoy the night outside with amazing drinks and eats. I wanted to support this new coffee shop, but my visit today visit was disappointing. I went through the drive-thru and told the cashier I would be paying with cash. Before even telling me my total, she rudely asked, "Where's your money?" The interaction felt unprofessional and unfriendly. On top of that, my order was made incorrectly. Mistakes can happen, but good customer service goes a long way when resolving them. Unfortunately, between the incorrect order and the cashier's attitude, this was not a positive experience. I hope management works on customer service and order accuracy as the business gets established. read more

What a dream come true it is for Da Vien Coffee to open up at this space!! Every single staff member I've interacted with so far has been so sweet and wonderful. The first was Cici, the second I didn't get her name but she was so kind! Anywhoo, I've tried the iced latte and marble drip so far. Neither of them really impressed me, but I am excited to try the banana latte, ube latte, and Vietnamese coffee! Also, the space itself is gorgeous. Super well designed. Dear Manager at Da Viên in Arcadia, I went to your drive thru yesterday at 2:25 PM and ordered a large Marble drip coffee , as I proceeded to pay for my drink, i also asked for a small extra cup so I could give my grandpa a small portion of my coffee so he could just have a taste of the coffee , and your employee ANGELYN V, gave me a little sauce container with a lid. The first time she hands it over , she drops it on the floor and says "opps", then I asked her if I could get an actual real cup , then says that it would be $6.50 for a empty cup . Is this how your employees are trained ? Due to this type of treatment i don't think I would ever be back here . Da viên used to be my go to place to get coffee because it's only 3 minutes away from my house but not any longer . I love me a cold brew coffee straight up black and was so excited to enjoy Da Vien's cold brew, but it just doesn't hit taste wise and sometimes it's just not very good. It's a shame because Da Vien is so convenient for me. I've had the cold brew at least 6 times now and I think I might give up on it, so sad. Other than that this new location is bright, fresh, clean and the employees are extremely friendly and provide outstanding customer service! Props to the wonderful staff!
