I have been following Vic & Jeff YouTube A Day In videos. They shared their wonderful drink experience at Formosa Aroma. Thought I give them a try. Thanks V & J. They specialize in customizable tea drinks made with 20 different tea types imported from Taiwan. You have the option to choose your own tea base, milk base, and toppings for original teaspresso, milk tea, fruit tea, yogurt drinks and more. Came here on one Sunday afternoon. They are located at the ground floor of Begonia Place apartment complex on Rosemead Blvd in Temple City. Lucky to have snatched free street parking, but not sure if they have parking in the back of the building. Limited outside patio seating. Adequate interior seating in a cool, modern, and quiet space. Love the subtle yellow lighting with calm and relaxing ambiance. Tables along the windows have USB chargers. Cute little lamp on the table, too. I didn't see any self-order kiosk for use. I had to order at the counter. Staff and service was okay. Since it was my first time here, I wasn't sure what I wanted to try. They have their top 12 popular drinks posted. I saw the Taro Sago Coconut Latte on a flyer. It looked so good. I love taro so I got it and forgoed the popular ones. Price was a bit pricey though. My drink was $8+. I asked for 100% sweetness, but I found the taro drink to not be sweet if at all. Taro tasted pasty unfortunately. Sago was soft and chewy. It's probably not a drink I would order again. Although I didn't have the best drink experience on my first visit, I feel their drink quality is still good. I just didn't pick the best drink. Look forward to coming back to try some of their popular drinks such as the Hojicha Pudding Iron Buddha Milk Tea and Mango Sago Pomelo. Street parking or there's a plaza next door that has parking. The place is pretty big and modern! There's a lot of tables and the place was filled with people coming with their laptop for work or just hanging out. I came to try their BOGO special for the Assam Black Milk Tea. I had regular sweetness and thought the drink was just right! Not too sweet or bland.
First time trying! They have lots of different types of teas. That's exciting. They have variety of drinks from milk tea to refreshers. Since it was my first time I was looking at the menu quite a long time but the cashier girl waited for us patiently. She also recommended on the sweetness of brown sugar boba milk to be less because boba is cooked in brown sugar. That was a nice advice. Thank you. I wish my assam was a little stronger. We just did a to go but it seems like a good place to chat with your friends.
So much variety of teas here! I love how they have a picture and description of each type of Tea so you know what youre getting. There are kids friendly drinks as well so the whole family can get something (Yakult drinks, slushes etc.). The boba is ok, the drinks are definitely better than the boba but still ok that I would get it if I wanted a drink from here. Make the boba better and it would be a perfect combination! There are tables so people can come and do work or study as well. The place is clean and drinks can be customized for sweetness and ice level. Weekly BOGO's for a drink each week so allows us to try a different drink and see if we like it.
Ordered the taro coconut lattee. Rated this a 3.5/5, the drink itself was hard to drink because the taro is really thick on the bottom. You have to try hard to mix this drink, but it takes a lot of effort. I know the drinks are good here, but maybe just skip out on this one. The place has a decent size parking garage in the back that isn't crowded. It was pretty busy when we visited this location on a sunday afternoon.
there's a ton of options, a bit overwhelming honestly! it was hard to choose a drink i went with the iron buddha milk tea at 50% sweetness and it was pretty decent. i think i should've gone up in sweetness (75%) though. it had a strong tea flavor so i enjoyed that decent amount of seating available. staff weren't exactly the friendliest but they weren't standoffish either
This is a popular Taiwanese tea spot in SGV. They have variety of unique tea selections. You can also customize your coffee and teas. I ordered the following: 1-Hot Assam Black Tea - Extra Hot with no sugar 2-White Peach Iced Tea - 50% ice and sugar 3-Golden Phoenix Oolong tea with Creme Brulé - Nondairy creamer, 50% ice, and 100% sweet with Creme Brulé All the drinks were fragrant and refreshing. Ambiance is really nice and modern. They have tables inside and outside. I liked the unique table lamps. You can adjust the brightness. There is a small parking section in the back. Friendly staff and great service.
First time at Formosa Aroma. I was satisfied with the drinks we ordered and it's a nice place with reasonable prices. We ordered a fruit tea, and two milk teas with the tri-flavor taro balls and boba. The teas were good quality. The sweetness seemed a bit off. The fruit tea at 30% seemed sweeter than expected and the milk tea at 50% seemed not as sweet. However, this is subjective. The service was excellent and the was friendly and helpful. The interior had lots of natural light, ample seating and was clean with a relaxing environment. The menus were large and easy to read and the prices appeared in line with other places. Famosa has three locations and is Taiwanese owned, the home of milk tea.
My husband and I visited this Formosa Aroma location for the first time this past Sunday, 2/22 around 2:00 PM. This is a new location that's opened up in Temple City. We got lucky because there wasn't too long of a line when we first came, but the line just kept growing. It was out the door by the time we got our orders and left! We ended up getting 4 orders of Iron Buddha Oolong Boba Milk Tea - $7.50 (BOGO offer during 2/16-2/22) - The drink was pretty good, we got them with light ice and 75% sugar. The sugar was definitely on the light side so I wish we had actually ordered one full sugar to compare. The boba was warm, chewy, and had the qq texture. I wish the iron buddha Oolong flavor was stronger as the drink was a little on the light side. I would prefer a deeper roasty flavor. Customer Service: The staff member who helped us was friendly. From start to finish, it took us around 20 minutes to get our order and drinks ready. If you're in a time crunch, just be aware. Parking: I saw another reviewer mentioned that the store has their own underground parking. We ended up just parking real quickly on the street. All in all, I would consider coming back and trying out some other drinks. The drinks are a little on the pricey side, but having the BOGO deals from time to time are a good way to try some new drinks.
Formosa Aroma is located across the street from the plaza with CVS pharmacy and Burger King. Parking available on the curb and in the parking structure. My husband I came by this past Thursday evening, around 6:40 pm. There was a small part of 2 people ahead of us. When it was our time to order, we ended up getting the following (taking advantage of their buy one, get one special): Rose Buddha Milk Tea- I ordered this drink to be made with 30% sweetener and no ice. This drink came with boba. I liked the sweetness level and I also liked this drink. The rose flavor wasn't overly powering the overall drink and really felt it complemented the milk tea. I would order this again. Valentine's Jelly Roselle Hibiscus Tea- I also ordered this drink at 30% sweetness and no ice. I thought the drink was a little tart but it was perfect for me though (I really don't my drinks too sweet now that I am much older). I liked the jelly pieces and thought it was a nice touch that they were red and heart shaped. ----------------------------- (Total after tax and buy one get one free discount= $8.24) My husband ordered his own separate order of the same to take advantage of the deal (have one drink now and then one to take with him to work). He didn't like the rose buddha milk tea as much I did but he did like the hibiscus tea though. Service could have been friendlier. The guy who took our order didn't seem to want to be there. But I was surprised that his mood seemed to have change when he offered us a bag for our tea drinks when it was ready to pick up. Had no idea this tea house existed and just discovered that they seem to have buy one get one free tea specials often. I will definitely be back in the near future.
Didn't know Formosa came to Temple City, and this spot was pretty empty, at least on a weekday. The flavors were solid. It's a bit pricey, but the quality is good. The drinks were made quite quickly too, and overall I was satisfied with what we got.
My first time at Formosa Aroma in Rosemead was during a raining weekend, and it was so memorable because the fragrant smell of the shop was so comforting! I've read that the boba here is tasty so I decided to get it as a topping even though I typically do not get boba. The server was really nice and patient with me, since there are so many different drinks and teas to choose from. I eventually got the oriental beauty milk tea with warm boba and it was good. I enjoyed the white peach tea more though since I don't usually get milk teas. I find that their tea is really fragrant and aromatic, which is hard to find with all the different boba shops out there. I also think the Rosemead location makes better teas than the Alhambra location, but that could just be me. There is a parking structure on Rosemead blvd behind Formosa, which is usually pretty empty. If you drive too fast you might miss it.
So excited that Formosa Aroma just opened up in Temple City! It's located right in that new apartment complex at Rosemead and Broadway. Heads up for anyone driving,the parking is super convenient, just pull into the lot in the back. The inside has a really nice, clean decor, and they have an awesome display showcasing all their different tea selections. They have a killer promotion going on right now too, buy one Iron Goddess tea boba, get one free! The milk tea itself is incredibly smooth and has a really rich, authentic tea fragrance. Plus, the bobas are perfectly soft and chewy, exactly how they should be. The service was super friendly and helpful while picking out drinks. Definitely check this spot out if you're in the area!

The menus are all over the place it made me confused. Do I need to pay for toppings or no? One menu doesn't list the price for majority of the topping while another said its not free The drinks were alright. I would say average because I feel like putting some tea with milk is very easy to cost like $7+ per drink. They're big portion though. The teas are strong but not as fragrant as I would like them to be. The shop doesn't smell like tea though. I think it's a good place to try. I might come back for other teas but I'm not sure how to order anything from here. I ordered the hojicha latte but it doesn't look like the photo read more

I am around the area to play pickleball and decided to take Formosa Aroma's BOGO offer. This location is bigger than the Alhambra location. The store decor and vibe is similar, but this one looks more comfortable because it offers more seating area inside and out. Service is friendly, they suggest 50% sugar which is about right. The BOGO milk tea of week is honey milk tea with boba. They have really strong and good tea. Boba is good too. If you like sweeter side use 70%. read more
Stop by to pickup some drinks for my family. The inside was so cool, quiet, clean and comfy. There's so many choices to choose from, but I spotted the BOGO offer, so gave it a try. It was the Oolong blk milk tea with boba. The teas wasn't too strong to my liking, perfect sweetness because I asked for less sweetness. The boba was flavorful and chewy. I give it a 4 out of 5. Will not mind coming back to try the rest. I saw a cute tote bag, but the cashier couldn't find the supplies. Will get it next time. There's also seats outside while you wait for your drinks. Location is closer to me than Alhambra. Plenty of parking in back structure. Big fan of their BOGO's which are advertised through IG. Love their Horjicha Iron Buddha milk tea which is smooth and rich in tea flavor. What also sets apart Formosa Aroma is their variety of foam toppings. The pistachio foam is a standout, nutty and complement teas well. Friendly staff. Inviting space. read more
My husband and I really love this boba shop (specifically the Temple City location) for its high quality and delicious drinks. Two of my favorite drinks, which are also signature drinks here are: Sakura Snow Whip Matcha Typhoon: Not only a very visually appealing drink, but it's also a very tasty one. It has the perfect strength of matcha flavor with a floral, fragrant element. Super velvety texture and has a nice mouthfeel. Hojicha Pudding Iron Buddha Milk Tea: For anyone that doesn't know what Iron Buddha is, it is a variation of tieguanyin. This milk tea is smooth and creamy. Because of the silky hojicha pudding, there is a wonderful toasty and nutty flavor. The sweetness level and ice level are adjustable for most drinks. Unlike other boba spots, I appreciate that this place actually does give less ice instead of a ton of ice when I ask for light ice. Oftentimes, there are promotions going on like BOGO and new seasonal drinks available, so keep an eye out for those. read more

Parking entrance is north of the shop and there are plenty of spots inside the garage. This is a new building so not a lot of business there yet. I tried their BOGO this week, March 17 week Golden Phoenix oolong black tea, no ice, 50 sugar. Boba balls are chewy and not sweet. Tea is pleasantly fragrant and not bitter or overwhelming. Perfect combo with 50% sweetness. Staff is friendly (he takes extra time to explain what creamer and milk difference is in consistency of tea). Service is prompt. There is free chilled water. Got the BOGO deal for the Buckwheat Gyokuro Boba $7.50 and it's tasty! Reminded me of roasted rice. Boba is yuuummy. Easily found street parking out front, near closing on a Sunday night. Apparently there's parking in the back. Interior is nice! I liked how the cashier went around us to give us a heads up to use the restroom if needed as it was near closing lol. Would def come back to try other things. read more
Ooh Temple City has a Formosa Aroma, too? There is no street parking, but there is covered parking in the back. What a perfects pot to escape the sun, too; the interior has the usual, calm aesthetic - relaxing and refreshing. Speaking of refreshing, their Chrysanthemum Pu'Er Boba Milk Tea really hits the spot on a hot day. At 30% sugar and less ice, it was a burst of nostalgia, reminding me of grass jelly with condensed milk - simply delicious. Deal? Oh yes, they do have deals... check their Instagram; they sometimes have BOGOs for the week. While prices are high, the BOGO costs really introduce affordable, tasty options. Service was fast and friendly. Wi-Fi for studying? They got that, too! Come early, though, since seating is limited. read more

Last weekend, my wife and I decided to stop here for tea since we've been used to going to the Alhambra location. This Temple City location had a different BOGO offer so we decided to come here to try it out. The quality of the tea is exactly the same as the Alhambra location. The tea is very fragrant and strong. The boba is decent and complemented tea very well. The only odd thing about this location is that you cannot park in front of the store since it's a bike lane and you absolutely have to park in the parking garage adjacent to it. read more

I came around opening on Sunday and was easily able to find parking in the free garage in the back! The place wasn't packed and there was plenty of tables left with outlets! The vibe here is great with open space and lots of seating. Great for a catch up or studying. W couple of outlets if you're able to get here early! The seats are cushioned too if you plan on staying here for long as well :) Ordered 4/5: Paid $8 for their BOGO which is p good for their dancing crane I was able to adjust sweetness ice and topping (removed boba). I tried the boba in one of my drink and it was soft and chewy. I ordered less sweet and it was still fairly sweet, so if you like sweeter drinks, this might be for you! The drink is overall is more w black creamy tea and not super tea forward. love the vibe and convenience of this place and would be coming back just to work/study! read more
Came here for the bogo milk tea w/boba. I m not a fan of boba so I got mine with less boba. Not gonna lie, it was pretty good. The tea flavor can be a bit stronger, imo. We still enjoyed the drinks. I like the drinks here than the Alhambra location. I tried the drinks in Alhambra like 3 times. Didnt like any of the drinks. It was either too bland or too bitter. I had a good experience at Formosa Aroma (Temple City). I ordered the Formosa Brown Sugar Boba Milk ($6.75 - 30% Sweetness - 50% Iced). This milk tea is not spectacular, but it's also not bad. This drink's flavor improves after heavily mixing its bold brown sugar, chill milk, and hot boba. I arrived at Formosa Aroma (Temple City) on Friday (around 12:15PM). Parking is extremely easy & convenient. There's a hidden rear Garage Parking for this business. This roofed, spacious lot also has EV Charging Stations. Formosa Aroma (Temple City) has poor visibility because its exterior is very difficult to see from the road. This small business is connected to the Begonia Place Apartments. It's also across the street from the Super A Foods Market. Staff at Formosa Aroma (Temple City) is professional. Staff (receipt says Eric) is helpful and welcoming. There's no self-service kiosk, so staff helps guide the customer. Staff asks for the drink's sugar level, ice level, dairy choice, and toppings. My drink took about two minutes. Fairly quick! As mentioned, I ordered the Formosa Brown Sugar Boba Milk ($6.75 - 30% Sweetness - 50% Iced). It tasted like premium brown sugar mixed in cold milk. The flavor reminded me of cereal milk. The boba arrived very hot and fresh; however, it lacked the familiar bounce and bite. These boba are comparable to chewing a fluffy, mini marshmallow. It's a pleasant, unmemorable drink. Concerning ambiance, Formosa Aroma (Temple City) is an elegant work/study spot! The decor is sleek and shiny. I especially loved how the electrical sockets had usb charging ports embedded inside. There's about five easily accessible electrical outlets. The location has internet with password; the information stands written on a plaque by the counter. There's a self-serve water station. There's a gender neutral restroom. And the music is soft. Formosa Aroma (Temple City) is comfortable, very clean, and well-maintained. There's about seven shiny indoor tables. You had me at Oolong tea! This made-to-order hand crafted newly opened formosan tea shop in Temple City looked promising. My friend and I just ate nearby on Broadway Avenue and walked over. The tea shop was packed and looked very popular. From the look of it and their full tea selection, I knew I was in for a great tea from the start! We waited about 10 minutes in line and after ordering, about another 10 minutes to get our tea. Service was quick, friendly, and they answered some simple questions we had about the order. I got the Oriental Beauty Oolong Tea w/ Aloe Vera & Jasmine Green Tea to go. The Oriental Beauty Oolong Tea I only seen a few tea places have in the U.S. here and it is from Fujian where my family is from so I had to get it to try, they did it justice and the tea was spot on. The Jasmine Green Tea was a little chalky and had a little dry mouth feel so maybe it was steeped too long. I was tempted by all of their speciality tea drinks like ube taro mochi milk tea, toasted marshmallow cocoa latte, black sesame or macha typhoon drinks (sounds so good as I am typing this currently) but I wanted a refreshing pick-me-up after the lunch I had. The green teas were the way to go but I know I'll have to come back on a treat-myself kind of day to try their speciality drinks. I was happy to see I can customize non-dairy milk and also by ice and sweetness level, too! The only thing I wish they explained in their menu or signage is what you can expect in the taste and fragrance of the Oolong teas. Oolong tea has a beautiful spectrum and while they carry a lot of Oolong flavors, it would be important to explain them so all guests have an accurate understanding and appreciation for the tea. I have only a proficient understanding of the types of tea but I, along with some other guests in line, were left a little scratching our heads on what all the types of Oolong tea would taste like! Just simple signage like High Mountain Oolong Tea is more floral and light roast or like my Oriental Beauty Oolong Tea being more complex and has a natural fruity sweetness taste to it! Really tasty drinks! Was in the area and decided to check it out. There was a BOGO deal for the Iron Buddha Milk Tea, and I got it at 50% sugar and it was perfect. Really flavorful, slightly smoky, and just sweet enough. It seems to be a popular studying/work spot so all of the tables were filled when we came by. Highly recc! read more

Here at Formosa Aroma-Temple City, all of their drinks are made on the spot with exclusive tea leaves imported directly from Taiwan. It is a small bubble tea shop located on the first floor of a modern luxury apt building. I came one evening to grab a hot tea. It's my first time trying this new tea shop. They have a breadth tea menu - milk teas, espresso, cream foam, fruit teas, yogurt, typhoon and specialty teas. I decided to be adventurous, thus, I ordered a hot Pouchong Green Tea. It is really good and somewhere between oolong, dark, and green tea; lightly oxidized tea with floral notes. Hence, the deep green color appearance. This popular Taiwanese tea house is small with modern design and layout. Staff were mostly young, competent and professional. Service was slow but depends the time and day. Free wifi. Plenty of tables to seat on. Rear parking available. Overall, I had a nice order experience and enjoyed my hot tea. I highly recommend Formosa Aroma. read more
A friend brought me here saying this is his favorite boba shop, and it definitely surpassed my expectations! The tea is steeped so well that the flavors are strong and carry through (can't remember what he ordered, but it was the BOGO Milk Tea of the Week). The Formosa Ocean was sweet and refreshing! They have the option to make the boba pearls soft or chewy, which is a nice option because most places only have one standard. The quantity of boba pearls was generous, as it reached over half the size of the cup :) Staff ensure everything is to your personal preference: ice level, sweetness, boba texture. They're very time-efficient as well, as our drinks were ready within 5-10 minutes, very short wait! read more
The design of the store is so beautiful, and the variety of tea is awesome. There is truly so many options to choose from and for some it may be motivation to try them all. However, I thought that for a tea forward store, their regular sugar level is too high (yes, i know it can be adjusted, and i asked for an adjusted one afterwards) which overpowers the tea. The workers were nice and helped me remake a drink to lower the sugar level. In the current state, I would say the tea is really weak which makes the drinker question its price point, when I know that the sourcing of the tea must be impressive, seeing how much work was put into the design of the store. You can say its mild but other viral tea shops (you know) truly know ball when they say their tea mild but throughly enjoyable. And I just dont taste that here after trying them a few times since im just around the block read more

There's no food at this location. The service was good! I only had to wait for 3-5 minutes for my drink! The ambiance is a little less than average, there wasn't any music here but it would be a great spot to hang out with friends! This week until the 18th, the buckwheat boba milk tea is BOGO! The buckwheat tea was nice but didn't have too much of the earthy taste that I was hoping for. In addition, the boba was slightly chewy and not too great of a great texture in my opinion. I'll try another flavor next time to see if maybe another flavor is better! TIP: They have a gender neutral bathroom! You would park in the back for customer parking! Easy to find parking in the back as usual. Ambiance was nice inside with limited seated, cool lights, and a bathroom. There's free iced water on the side. We got the noble consort milk tea ($6.50) and iron Buddha milk tea ($6.50). Both were were non dairy creamer. Very authentic black tea taste. read more
My wife recommended we check out this spot since it was newly opened in Temple City. We decided to take a visit on a Saturday afternoon and first initial reaction is that this place is pretty well hidden. There's a free parking lot is huge in a indoor structure, plenty of spots along with some EV charging spaces. Absolutely love the interior of this shop, super spacious, and you could tell that the design was well made for customers who love a more chill vibe shop. Each table is equipped with a brightness adjustable lamp and outlets, perfect for anyone who wants to dine in with their devices. Music isn't that loud either, perfect for studies, meetings since they have free Wi-Fi as well. My wife and I took a bit to decide what to order as their menu is quite substantial. Plenty of names caught our eye but we ultimately ordered two different drinks to share. Cups here are well made, very sturdy and cute design. Fits the style of the shop very well. 10/10 1. Sakura Whip Matcha Typhoon One of the unique drinks that caught my eye, although I've seen it from other shops, still a rare combo to see nowadays. In translation, it's a matcha tornado smoothie + Sakura whip topping. Very refreshing, and not too sweet with sugar adjustment. Highly recommend if you like matcha. 2. Hojicha Pudding iron Buddha Milk Tea With a name like this, it's gotta be good right? Result? It's pretty darn good. The Hojicha is certainly the standout in this drink. Roasted green tea type drink, very well presented. Super light, refreshing, and could be one of their stable drinks when visiting. Highyl recommend if you're indecisive on the day. Overall, wonderful place for any type of occasion in my opinion. Great quality drinks, quick service, plenty of space, tables, outlets, restrooms, free parking, and free Wi-Fi.
