Hojicha Latte iced with oat milk
    Jennifer S. M.

Cute little cafe in the SGV area. There are a few tables good for groups and for studying. The interior and furniture gives this place a nice cozy, vibe. The music was present and played at a comfortable level. I ordered the Strawberry Matcha Latte with oat milk. This was pretty good! I really appreciated the smooth and earthiness of the matcha while also tasting the fresh cut strawberries at the bottom. I would order again. My husband ordered the Hojicha Latte iced with oat milk. It had all the notes: caramel, roasted nuts, light cocoa, and a smoky undertone. It was good! I would order that one again too. The staff were friendly and the cafe was very clean. Parking was easy to find - they share it with the other businesses in the plaza. I would come back here and try their other drinks.

First time coming here! Nice amount of seating inside was the first thing I noticed. Two communal tables plus a couple other tables and some couch seating. Came here to journal and draw and Hop Cafe offered a nice space to do so. The interior felt very warm and inviting but the the ambiance was a little off because they had some odd music playing - it sounded like music from an action movie haha. The volume was pretty low too and since people were mostly working, it felt like you could hear a pin drop. Since they have jazz nights weekly I thought maybe their music vibes would be more jazzy/bossa nova/chill so that caught me off guard haha. Maybe bring headphones. For the drinks- I got an iced matcha latte with oat milk and asked for it half sweet. I wasn't expecting much - sure, the SGV is filled with places that serve matcha, but most make it poorly... or too sweet... or use bad quality matcha. BUT LISTEN, this place makes good matcha!! The matcha is smooth and not bitter. It's on the lighter side for flavor and it had a beautiful green color. Definitely one of the top places I've found for matcha in the SGV. We tried the popcorn chicken and the curly fries and both were a delicious treat to share after a long day! I'd def come back to journal again sometime. I love that they're open later than most cafes too. Can't wait to go to jazz night in the future!

I'm not a matcha girly but this drinkkkkk hitssss. Perfect amount of sweetness. The strawberries are a perfect combination for this drink. They also offer popcorn chicken and other little treats such as icecream and cookies. If you need a little pick me up, this is your spot

My bike group made this place its destination so I rode along cause I have never been. I can never say no to boba. We pulled up and the place was packed! A live band was playing that we weren't aware was there that day. The drinks were going out slowly because they were currently brewing more jasmine green tea. Appreciated the workers apologizing for the delay. It was cool though. I was just enjoying the music while I waited. The buy 3 get one free deal is great! I took 4 home to slowly drink over time. All of them were great and satisfying. Would definitely come back!

Im sorry but this place is price gouging now. I got their full size, which is actually pretty small a portion for $12, on March 1st, 2026. Its April 4th, 2026 and its now $14?! In a month it went in $2! Thats too much for so little food.

Visited here specifically for their ice cream egg waffles (personal craving) and I really enjoyed it. They make the waffles fresh so it takes longer than ordering a drink, but needless to say, the aroma from it makes you eagerly wait for the order. Love the interior here, plenty of seating, very much a hangout vibe cafe, very cabin like & very clean. My partner and I both love hot/cold type combo of food and this was the perfect choice. The egg waffle is presented nicely in a round cup with a scoop of ice cream of your choice, we decided on cookies & cream which was the perfect choice to balance the flavors. The egg waffle itself is very soft and very much a shareable order, highly recommend to add ice cream, can even go for a double scoop. Hop Cafe has plenty of menu choices, streaming from savory snacks like popcorn chicken & fries, to plenty of popular drinks like matcha & milk tea. Will definitely revisit to try not just the egg waffles but the drinks.

I came back on a Wednesday afternoon specifically to try the Hojita Latte and I really enjoyed it! Subbed for Oat milk (no charge) The Hojita flavor was strong and nutty but the drink was super smooth and tasty. If you're a fan of less sweet and earthy drinks, this one's for you.

Super kind staff!! I really like their milk tea and I tried their iced latte and it was pretty good! And I'm super picky with coffee! This is a nice place to meet and catch up with a friend (they have couches for lounging and some games to borrow while at the store). Will be returning!

Hidden Gem in Arcadia! Been here a few times now and I have to say that my fam bam and I pretty much love this gem that we wished we discovered sooner. Ordered: *Popcorn Chicken *Ice Cream (Strawberry and Chocolate) *Bubble Egg Waffle *Brown Sugar Boba Milk (I always sub the boba for grass jelly and ask for oat milk instead) *Da Hong Pao We pretty much love everything that we have tried and when we come back, we always order the same items again. Staff are always pretty nice. Sometimes the cafe can be pretty packed with people so seating can be difficult. Their decor is bright but brings in a classy old school feel with Jazz records and honestly its such a relaxing atmosphere. If you cannot tell already, we definitely love this spot and will continue to come back to support. 2 thumbs up from this Yelper! Tips: *Credit card accepted *They have an Instagram page *Restroom available for customers *Free wifi *Free parking shared with other local businesses (i.e. CVS) *They offer boardgames for you to utilize when you visit. *Some nights they have live musicians perform. *They have a rewards program for frequent consumers. *Outdoor seating available (Two tables)

    Raspberry Matcha Latte

Came by with some friends and got some drinks. It's located in the shopping plaza by the CVS. The last time I was here, it was a different tea shop chain (ChaTime), so it's been a while. I spoke with the friendly owner and he said that he opened this back in December 2024, kept the name of the cafe, but rebranded the shop and changed the decor. I love the bunny logo, the yellow and the music themed decor (vinyl records on display!) and the cozy vibes with the cozy seating. He said they have jazz nights as well, so a great place to hang or have a date night if you want to listen to some music on a Saturday evening! Their current seasonal special is the Raspberry Matcha latte, he said he makes the raspberry jam himself (so it's limited quantity - giving me Meghan Markle vibes....lol), and he uses ceremonial grade matcha, so I had to try it - It's super good! Popcorn chicken and bubble waffles are available if you want a snack. They even have ice cream!!

Soonheene actually started in Seoul's famous Gwangjang Market where they were known for their pancakes, so I was excited to check it out. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by Esther (the owner) and her daughter. They both went out of their way to explain the menu and answer all my questions with genuine smiles. That kind of hospitality really sets the tone for a meal. We ordered the Pork Mungbean Pancake, Rose Tteokbokki (creamy rice cakes with fish cake and sausage), Bibim-Naengmyeon (spicy cold buckwheat noodles), and a whole fried chicken split into two flavors. Everything we ordered was delicious and tasty. For half the chicken, I went with the original but added green onion and their special oriental sauce drizzle. The other half was spicy soy garlic. I'll admit, I liked the original better. I second-guessed myself when the owner's daughter mentioned soy garlic was their number one most popular flavor followed by honey butter, but I thought I would be different and try the spicy version. The spice kind of drowned out that garlicky soy flavor, so lesson learned. Next time I am going straight for the soy garlic and honey butter combo. For drinks, we tried the Korean coffee and cold yuzu drink, both refreshing and a nice complement to the food. By the end of the meal, everything was so good that I even found myself asking about catering their chicken for future events. The vibe inside is really comfortable with soft K-pop playing in the background. It is just enough for atmosphere but not too loud, so you can talk easily. The only tricky part is parking since it is in a busy plaza with a lot of other restaurants, but at least it is free. Overall, this was one of the most unique dining experiences we have had recently, made extra special by Esther and her daughter's hospitality. I love supporting family-owned spots like this, and I will definitely be back to try that famous soy garlic and honey butter chicken next time.

Coco raised the white flag after just one bite of the Reaper chicken burger…read more Coco is from a province in southwest China. Although her province is not as famous for spicy food as Sichuan, it is still a place where people truly love heat. She was the one who taught me how to use chili properly and how to cook in a Sichuan-style spicy way. But even she could not handle one bite of the Reaper flavor at Dave's Hot Chicken. She called it "chemical spicy", not the joyful, flavorful kind of spicy you get from serious Sichuan food. This was my first time visiting Dave's Hot Chicken. I am not really a fried chicken person, and I am definitely not a fast-food person. But I became curious after reading a Business Insider newsletter that ranked Dave's Hot Chicken as one of the most popular restaurant chains in America in 2025. With that kind of praise, how could I not try it? There is no Dave's Hot Chicken near my home, even though the company is headquartered in Pasadena, so I had to drive all the way to Rosemead. This location is inside a plaza with The Habit, IHOP, Chipotle, and other fast-food chains, right in the middle of a heavily Chinese residential area. The restaurant is easy to spot because of its funny screaming rubber chicken logo. I used to like that chicken a lot, especially the screaming sound, even though it is honestly very noisy. The interior has a modern industrial, almost nightclub-like style, with neon lights and graffiti-style murals. Everything is designed to feel wild, young, and HOT. When I walked in, every table was occupied by Latinos, and about half of them were teenagers, loud and clearly having a good time. What surprised me was that there was not a single Chinese staff member inside, even though the restaurant is right in the middle of a Chinese neighborhood. Since there were only two of us, and since I am not a big fan of fried chicken, we only ordered one combo with two sliders. One was Hot, the third heat level, and the other was Reaper, the extreme level. I had the Hot one. It was actually very good. The chicken was crispy outside and tender inside. Even though it was chicken breast, which is usually not my favorite part, it was still juicy. I would probably rank it as my second favorite fried chicken. Jollibee is still number one for me, but Dave's was better than I expected. The chicken itself was good, except for the Reaper one. My recommendation is simple: do not even try it. Coco was sweating and her face turned pale after one bite, and she is a well-known spicy lover. That should tell you everything. Another recommendation: eat the chicken with Dave's signature sauce. I do not know exactly what is inside, but it tasted like it had some honey mixed in, and it worked really well with the chicken. The waffle-cut fries were also good. They were crispy outside, soft inside, and not too dry. Again, the Hot level, which is the third level, is just right. Trust me. Do not go higher unless you are doing it purely as a challenge.
