Tried their osmanthus cloud latte today, and it tastes like their other osmanthus rice drink... I personally don't care for the rice so I wanted to try their other osmanthus drink because it's one of my favorite milk teas. I didn't like it because it's overly floral and it has the rice. Maybe I misread about the rice? But even so, the drink doesn't taste like a cloud latte. I got 50% sweetness and it tastes more like 75%. I think it's because the fermented rice is already sweetened. Service was good, I ordered ahead and picked up with no issues. The inside has some seating if you want to enjoy your drink inside. Outside, there are also some tables and benches if you prefer. Overall, the drink prices are pretty standard in today's market I'd say. The other drinks I've tried before include the osmanthus rice drink, black sesame slushy, mango pomelo, and the taro milk. Of the ones I have tried, maybe only the mango pomelo one is good. The rest are just okay. Unsure if I'd come back because there are other mango pomelo drinks out there that are better.

The value is still decent with the Chinese apps, but if they don't improve their topping game, it's going to not be the best drinks in the area.
This BenGong's Tea location is found in a small plaza that has Hengzhou Chili King with a lot in the back. The lot itself doesn't really have enough parking spots available for the 4 or 5 businesses that are in this little plaza. My husband and I have been to the location in Arcadia a few times and decided to check out this location since we were in the area. We came here last Saturday night and ordered our drinks at the kiosk (not sure if you are order with an employee or not, but the 2 employees we saw behind the counter seemed busy working on drinks, since their backs were towards us). We ended up ordering: Purple Rice Drink, $5.95- My husband ordered this drink to be made with no ice and 25% sweetener. I didn't have any but he thought it was just fine and enjoyed it. But the size was rather small. Osmanthus Rice Milk Tea $6.75 + Large Size $0.75- I ordered this drink to be made with no ice and 25% sweetener. I was disappointed with this drink because the tea was overstepped. Quite a shame because that bitter taste lingered and had a weird after taste with the osmanthus (which is a flower). But the osmanthus flavor seemed a little artificial (I really like osmanthus and usually like to order it at tea houses so I am familiar with the taste). This drink did not taste good. ----------------------------- (Total= $13.45) Wait time was a little after 10 minutes. There wasn't really much interaction with the employees. The staff just placed our drink on the counter and called out the drink order number and then my husband walked up to the counter to get it. You had to get your own straw, which is right by the area where you pick up the drinks. I really don't see myself coming back to this location and probably won't be going back to BenGong's Tea in general anytime soon (the last time we went to the Arcadia location, my drink was also over steeped).
I came in for the BOGO deal and was really disappointed with my drink. I ordered the Orange Green Tea, which I've had several times before and is usually my favorite drink here. Unfortunately, today's drink tasted nothing like it normally does. It was extremely diluted- more like water with a few orange slices than an actual orange green tea. I understand the store was busy because of the promotion, but that's something that should be expected during a BOGO event. Being busy shouldn't be an excuse for inconsistent quality. I paid for an Orange Green Tea and waited for my order, only to receive a drink that wasn't made the way it's supposed to be. That's why I'm disappointed.
Very normal tea place. And by 'normal,' I mean aggressively average. The drinks exist. They are wet. They have sugar. Nothing made me gasp, nothing made me weep, and definitely nothing made me want to come back for round two. The popping boba? Oh, it popped alright -- right into my teeth with the enthusiasm of a tiny rubber ball that's been left in the sun too long. Hard. Not crispy, not chewy -- just... defiant. Now let's talk about the adventure of getting inside. This place on Valley Blvd has more iron barricades than a medieval fortress. The door facing Valley? Locked. Barred. Rejected. You've got two options: walk all the way around through the parking lot like some kind of peasant making a pilgrimage, or -- and I quote -- simply climb over the fence. Because yes, apparently that's a viable alternative they've just accepted as normal. Service is fine. Not warm, not cold. Just... fine. The kind of fine where they hand you your drink, you say thanks, they nod, and you both understand this is the last time you'll see each other. And outlets? None. Zero. Nada. If your phone's at 5%, may God have mercy on your soul because this tea shop certainly won't. Would I go back? Only if I'm already in the parking lot. And the fence is already open. And someone else is paying. And I've forgotten what popping boba is supposed to taste like. Otherwise? Hard pass. Hard boba. Hard entrance. Hardly worth it.
I like the ambiance and they have a cute wishing tree in the middle. Drinks are good qualitea (haha) and they have seating. There are cushioned bench seating areas and while overall it's a small shop, it's a decent place to study. I don't see outlets though. A favorite of mine is their bloom teas with a nice coconut milk, sago, and real fresh fruit. Definitely a refreshing drink that is worth the price.
Came during a weekend afternoon. They had a small parking lot shared by other stores in the plaza. Place was pretty empty when we arrived. They were having a promotion for the members where some of their drinks were buy one get one half off. We got the Uji Matcha Boba MIlkTea or 宇治抹茶黑式. We upgraded the drinks to large size for 75 cents each. Got 50% sweetness. Felt the sweetness level was alright. The bobas were too sweet. Would asked to not put bobas next time. Liked that they have an outdoor seating area. But there were a lot of people smoking outside. The indoors were really cold. So be sure bring a jacket. Decor was really nice.
Tea is flavorful, not that strong. Service is efficient The place is a little hard to find / locate because parking entrances is from the back and drive to the side of the building. Inside is clean, eclectic and well decorated. Definitely will come back to try other flavors.

I had a lovely experience at Ben Gong's Tea (San Gabriel). I ordered the Mango Pomelo Sago ($6.95). It's mango slush with coconut milk, sago, pomelo, and crystal boba. It's FRESH and delicious. I happily sipped. (Important: Cash is not accepted. Bring card or contactless payment.) I arrived at Ben Gong's Tea (San Gabriel) on Monday (around 1PM). Parking is easy if familiar with the area. There's a hidden, spacious lot in the rear. There's even EV charging stations! Customers primarily order at the self-service kiosk. Staff is hardworking, but Staff appeared skittish when addressed. Staff interaction felt brief, but I appreciated how Staff attempted to greet new customers. My drink took three minutes and 40 seconds. Good time! As mentioned, I enjoyed the Mango Pomelo Sago ($6.95). The mango tasted fresh. The crystal boba had a light, playful bounce. And the drink is silky, chill, and smooth. I felt the urge to scream in joy bubble up as I sip. "SO GOOD!!" Regarding ambiance, Ben Gong's Tea (San Gabriel) is very clean and attractive. It's a pretty, calming spot. There's six tables and one long counter; there's even an outside patio with extra seating. However, there's ZERO electrical outlets for customers. There's none inside, and the outside outlets by the patio do not work. Still, Ben Gong's Tea (San Gabriel) has utility. There's customer internet with password; the details are written on a tiny paper taped onto the counter's register. There's also a game station (ex: Monopoly, Jenga, Uno, Etc.) for customers! The location also has a gender neutral restroom. And the music is fun & upbeat! Overall, I had a phenomenal experience at Ben Gong's Tea (San Gabriel). Compared to their other locations, this is one of the best. There's passion and care still within these walls. If you love tea & boba, this is a very easy recommendation. 4.9 out of 5!
First time at BenGong's Tea and ordered the Orange Jasmine Tea. I liked it - The tea was light and refreshing. The orange flavoring wasn't overwhelming either. Service was horrible though so I'm docking off one star. No hello, no thank you, just the two baristas behind the counter having a full on conversation while I sat there awkwardly waiting for my drink lol. It felt like I was inconveniencing them.
Space was nice and clean. Parking lot a bit small and about 80% full so parking is tough but not too tough. Service was really friendly. Got the mango pomelo sago for the kids (replaced the tea with water). The cashier was nice enough to point out the drink contains tea if I wanted to get that for the kids. Sugar level was well balanced. The kids enjoyed it. I wish there was a bit more mango flavor. I had the passion fruit fresh fruit tea with 25% sugar. Came with lots of slices of fruit (orange, lime, watermelon) and can see the passionfruit seeds. Needs more passionfruit flavor but it was still good. I liked that I can taste both the bitterness of the tea and the fruitiness from the fruit. I would definitely come back to try the other drinks.
While shopping nearby we were craving good boba. Other reviewers lead us here. Street parking was easy. Loved the simple chic decor and ample table seating. We quickly ordered on their screen and maybe 2 mins later, our order was ready. Service was quick and the servers friendly and helpful. My little companion really enjoyed her Brown Sugar boba drink. We'll be back especially when we're in San Gabriel again.

4.5 stars. Most drinks are good. Service is fine/alright. I usually order online/mobile. Pick up was easy. Only one time on a Saturday night, it was quite busy. So, had to wait longer than usual. I usually get 25% for sweetness level. It tasted pretty good/to our palate for most drinks. The only drink I thought could have used more than 25% sugar would be the Tiramisu Special Boba Milk Tea. DRINKS: Watermelon Cheese Slush 5/5 25% sugar. Our favorite so far Burnt Caramel Cheese Milk Tea 4.5/5 25% sugar is plenty sweet. Tiramisu Special Boba Milk Tea 4.25/5 25% sugar. I think 50% sugar would have been better. Didn't really taste the tiramisu part. Pistachio Coconut Velvet 4.25/5 Fairly good. Interesting, but in a good way. Mango Cheese Slush 4.25/5 Not bad Passionfruit Super Fruit Tea (L) 4.25/5 Fairly happy with it. Decent tea with fruits. Mango Pomelo Sago 4/5 A lot of people seem to really like this drink, even at other boba tea shops. Tried it here, it was okay for me. Drinkable, not a stand out. Again, it's personal preference. I see a lot of folks ordering this drink here and elsewhere. Osmanthus Rice Milk Tea 4/5 Alright. Nothing special. Super Watermelon 3.9/5 Watermelon juice & green tea with Water Chestnut Popping Boba. Wanted to like it, but it was okay. Drinkable, but not stellar. Jasmine Tea Latte 3/5 Bf said it was milky. Honestly, the drink I got was good, but the overall experience just didn't really stand out. The selection isn't totally my thing, and with so many boba and smoothie spots around this area, this one doesn't quite hold up as much as I'd hoped. The service was pretty mid and the inside was clean but nothing memorable. Pricing is fair though. If you're nearby it's fine, but there are definitely stronger drink spots in the area. read more

BengGong's Tea is a unique place that has creative tea drinks. Came across this place through a random search on my yelp page, so decided to go ahead and try this place out. I ordered the Passion fruit super fruit cup with Boba. Drink itself was good but didn't have that it factor for me. It was sort of just okay. I still enjoyed my experience at BengGong's Tea. Great place for a summer hang out with friends. I would come back again and maybe try a different drink. I did enjoy the fresh infused fruit that was inside my drink. It was a great creative touch from this place. The Boba was below average. The business has lots of parking available and restrooms are clean. read more

I ordered the Peach Oolong Milk Tea with Cream Top. Actually tried it twice at 50% and 75% sweetness. I usually get 50% at most places but recommend 75% for this particular drink to get a good balance of sweetness and the taste of the tea. I'd suggest getting less ice too or the drink gets watered down quite a bit. Place is clean and they have their own parking lot. I'll come back to try the other drinks sometime soon. read more
The Mango Mochi Frost ($6.95) with 50% sugar is one of their most popular drinks, and my wife wanted to try it to see if it lived up to the hype. It certainly did! It was nice, frothy, and thick, almost like a milkshake. I loved the consistency, and it was a nice, sweet treat. It reminded me of a similar drink made famous by the spot next door, and we would definitely get it again. The Burnt-Brown Sugar Boba Milk Tea ($6.50) with 75% sugar (recommended with less ice) was sweet but also a bit salty. It was a pretty good milk tea, though I'm not sure I'd rush to get it again. However, it was satisfying in the moment. We would come back to BenGong for the Mango Mochi Frost and to try other drinks. We liked the cute little milk tea shop with classic Chinese decorations and friendly, helpful staff. read more
Omg! I really enjoyed my drink here. BenGong's tea had a parking lot in the back or street parking. My friend recommends coming here because the drinks are fun to drink. What she meant was that they had different textures throughout the drinks. I ended up getting the sesame milk with added mochi. If you love black sesame this is your drink. The drink was great and the added mochi was so good together. I have been cravings for this drink every day. read more
After a fun afternoon of bowling, my Mom, brothers + family, and our cousin + family decided to grab some boba drinks. It was my cousin's treat. Thank you to my cousin and his wife! The first time I tried BenGong's Tea was at the University Town Center in San Diego. I did not know they opened a new location at San Gabriel. Cool! This location is right on Valley Blvd which is one of the busiest streets in the San Gabriel Valley area. I almost drove right past it. Anyway, parking is limited. You may need to park on the streets. Please read the signages. Cute and clean boba shop with a decorative fake tree + quotes from customers located in the center of the seating area. Inside space near the counter is kind of snug. Limited inside seating and no outside seating. One all gender restroom is available for customer use only. No kiosk for self-ordering. You gotta get in line to order at the counter. Sorry, no WiFi! Staff was friendly. I got the Taro Noro with 50% sweetness and easy ice. Drink looks pretty from the outside, but taste was slightly disappointing. It didn't taste like taro IMHO. I didn't care for the milk that was used either. I should have gone with the Mango Pomelo Sago instead. I'll get that next time. Yes, I'll be back! read more
4.4 stars Bengong has existed in the SGV for awhile, but I've never had the chance to try it until now. And I really like their tea. I got their tiramisu and the brown sugar milk tea since they had a buy 2 for $8.80 during Thanksgiving week. The tiramisu was my favorite beverage and, honestly, tasted like Tan-Cha's tiramisu roasted oolong drink. Are they the same company??? I don't know, but I'll definitely be back for more. read more
I love trying new boba shops so I was excited for this one! We ordered two special boba milk tea, peach oolong milk tea, and purple rice/taro milk tea. Even with 25% sugar, it was still really sweet for us. The purple rice/taro milk tea tasted like sweet milk. There wasn't any strong tea flavor from any of the other drinks either, so it didn't suit our taste. We ordered ahead online so the service was quick. There are some tables indoors to enjoy your drinks. read more
This place is located on Valley Blvd. in the city of San Gabriel. East of Del Mar Ave and West of San Gabriel Blvd. This is a fairly new boba place in the 626 among the hundreds of boba store in the area. I drove past the area tonight so decided to give this place a try. There are street parking in the front and a shared parking lot with a couple other businesses in the back. I would say there's at least 15-20 available in the whole park in the back. I went at night when it was about to close and it was quiet at that time so not sure how busy it is during the day. When I walked in, a lady server greeted me and directed me to the front counter to order my drink. Then a guy names Wei came and assisted me. I asked him for his recommendation on milk tea and he provided some information. So far so good until I asked about boba. The lady server said they are out of boba. I asked him what other toppings they have and she named some. The guy server named Wei that was taking my order showed me on the screen. I asked him again if the brown sugar boba is out and he said they are out of all bobas. I asked crystal boba? And he said they are just out of boba. I was thinking "do you even know what you are talking about" because the things he said was confusing and he sounded impatient when all I asked was to make sure the boba part. He doesn't speak clearly and he started getting impatient and speaking fast. That killed the whole experience. I ordered a peach oolong milk tea with crystal boba and it was pretty good. Overall experience ca be better - can be 4 star ( an above average boba shop ) but sorry your customer service especially the guy server named Wei needs to improve because he affected your business and this is unacceptable because it wasn't even a difficult question to answer. 3 star for overall experience mainly due to customer service. read more
We just needed to grab a boba before leaving the area, but this was such a find! We got the Osmanthus Rice Milk Tea, and we really grew to love it with each progressive sip. We've found that we enjoy osmanthus's subtle flavor, so we weren't shocked by that, but we were surprised to find how much we liked the rice bits! The texture could throw you off, but the rice was actually sweet and soft, so it was nice when we got some rice in a sip. It reminded me of the rice in Korean sikhye! read more

I ordered my milk tea with light ice and 50% sweetness. Their milk tea tastes like my favorite Ceylon tea, which I can only find in handful of boba places. Mochi mango was also made with 50% sweetness. The taste was perfect and boba was super fresh. They were having thanksgiving special and it $8 for two drinks. They have nice outdoor seating which is great to hangout with friends. Highly recommended read more
Needed a little sweet treat after dinner. Wanted to try a new spot and this one popped up on Yelp. Not sure how they're going to stay a float with another well known boba shop within 300 feet. It was alright, not bad but nothing special and could be better. After trying and now reading lower rated reviews, seems like this spot just opened up and did grand opening a month ago. Their grand opening promo was BOGO and get a free bag charm if you give them a good review.. Osmanthus Mochi Frost -was nothing what I expected it to taste like.. If you don't like fermented rice, this drink will taste like vomit. Frost/slush itself wasn't bad, no osmanthus taste at all. Mochi was more of a fermented rice kind which in my opinion is gross. A bunch of popping water chestnut boba throughout, added some texture. Would not order again. Burnt Brown Sugar Boba Milk Tea -wasn't bad but boba could be better. Bengong's Tea definitely lives up to the hype! I stopped by for a quick drink run and was pleasantly surprised by how good everything was. The drinks were flavorful, refreshing, and made just right and not overly sweet. My boyfriend got the special boba milk tea and it was perfect. I got the peach oolong milk tea with creamy top and surprisingly it was super good! Would get it again! I love how they have this wishing tree there and you get to write a wish and put it on the tree. Such a cute idea! read more
I tried their Mango Mochi Frost and it was so good! They cut the mango into small pieces and they had tangy flavor. Mochi was soft and sweet. This drink was refreshing with creamy and sweet flavors. My favorite mochi drink. Also got their Special boba milk tea which was really good as well. The staff recommended this and they were right about that drink being popular there. Boba milk tea had bold tea flavor and it must be made with really good tea leaves ; I can tell by comparing this place to other boba shops. Their boba was sweet and chewy just that way I like. This is a good place to drink boba milk tea in SGV area. Inside is nice, clean, and cozy with cool decorations that stand out from other boba shops. I still love this place. I think their teas are nice, fragrant, strong and you taste it even in milk teas. HOWEVER this is just a warning that their Peach Oolong Milk Tea COMES WITH BARLEY POPPING BOBA!!! Cream top or not, it'll come with barley popping boba. NOWHERE IN THE MENU/NAME DOES IT SAY THAT!!! "Peach oolong milk tea" no boba in the name and especially no barley in the name. This can be dangerous for anyone gluten free or with allergies. Flavor and texture wise I hated it. I've since ordered the peach oolong again but make sure to say no topping ... but sometimes they forget (but are nice and will remake it). It just seems like it'd be easier for everyone to let people know that the drink will have a topping inside or to get rid of the topping as a default option. The tea by itself is nice! The barley boba is horrible. Dense like dough but also pops?? No thank you!! Make sure you order it without the topping. Also they really need to update their menu because the Lychee Tea Latte is all over the menu/tv advertising but they haven't had it in about a month and don't have signs saying that. I will say the workers are super kind and will remake the drink if it comes with the topping when I didn't want it. I just think there's a more efficient way to go about this (aka get rid of topping being the default) read more
Bengong's new store location is stunning, the interior was beautiful. I tried the strawberry mango bloom, golden oolong tea, passionfruit super fruit cup, and the strawberry mochi frost -- every drink was the perfect sweetness, with strong tea flavor and super fresh fruit. I've definitely seen these cute bags around and now I finally know where to get it! This place has plenty of parking. It's got an open floor plan with high ceilings and a modern twist on traditional Chinese decor that you'd enjoy in a Chinese drama. Service was excellent. Jimmy & Jasper & Elaine were so attentive & gave spot on recommendations. Tiramisu milk tea was soooo good! The jasmine latte milk tea is refreshing & burnt caramel tea is ! Card ONLY. First time visiting this location is across Cali Nails Market and beside Chima Moutai. It is hard to find because the store name is large print in Chinese but small letters it says, "BenGong's Tea". There is plenty of parking once you pass the building, turn into the parking lot from the side entrance. What makes this place exceptionally good is their use of actual tea that is fresh ground, made and served. We bought 5 teas and will rate them in order with 1 as the least and 10 as the best. 1). Mango Pomelo Slush (no tea but made with Coconut Milk and a little milk for the topping). No changes are allowed on this drink. Rate it an 8.5 2). Burnt Brown Sugar Boba Milk we adjusted it to 50% and we should have left it at 100% because this place makes their teas not too sweet. Rate it a 6 because we adjusted it, I am sure if we left it alone it would be an 8 as well. 3). Mango Mochi Slush at 50% sugar rate it an 8-9 very good. 4). Black Rice Milk Tea adjusted sugar to 30% it was good, but I should also have left it alone as is. We tried their Ube and Pandan cookie for $4.50 and they were deliciously soft and tasty. The space here is a clean and classy meat up for 2-3 friends and not so much of a study area. It gets very busy as we heard the constant pinging of orders coming in. However, the employees were professional, served all drinks well and constantly busy. Give them a tip because they work so hard. read more
Came here to try them out and my drink was good. I liked it. However, my aunt and mom was not too big a fan. I'd say I'll need to try it one more time to see if they are worth staying on my list of boba shops to visit. The decor and atmosphere is nice. Love the tree they have. The hot cup design is nice. I came here during their grand opening weekend when they were running the BOGO promotion. I've been to the Arcadia location in the past and the drinks didn't impress me at all. But, I figured it wouldn't hurt my wallet as much to try again with the BOGO deal. First impression of the store: very nice ambiance. Definitely a great place to catch up with friends. There was a short line for ordering but it went by pretty quickly. I ordered the lychee tea latte and the passionfruit super fruit cup, both at regular sweetness. I didn't want to mess with the sugar level because when I looked up my older review of the Arcadia location I mentioned that our tea was kinda tasteless. Lychee tea latte: this one was actually not bad. But regular sugar was definitely way too sweet for me. A 25-50% probably would've been better but I'm not sure if it would end up tasting like water at that point? I do agree with other reviewers that say their milk teas taste very milky. Passionfruit super fruit cup: once again it was way too sweet but also I couldn't taste any tea flavor at all. Mostly just fruit juice or syrup flavor. We ended up brewing our own jasmine tea at home and mixed it in and the drink tasted so much better. Overall, drinks were still underwhelming. I want to actually taste the tea base and not have it be overpowered by milk and syrups. With so many tea options in the area I don't think I'll be back. read more
