They're not as crowded as they used to pre-covid days, but that's always a plus on my end as a customer due to not having to wait for a table. I can describe them as a Hole-In-The-Wall kind of bar as they are definitely not trendy and updated (Think: Christmas decorations all year round). They have Bogo deals on their beer and you get to save any un-redeemed pitcher for your next visit. Highly recommended for anyone to just want to chill with their friends and have a good time playing Liar Dice.

The decor is also very nice, it's like a transformation walking into a tasting area in a winery. I get why this place is the way it is, it is a different persona from the other owned establishment, but wine can be intimidating. You have the reds, whites, the sweets, the sparkling and etc. Not only the difference in profile, but you can pair it with food to enhance the overall flavor. There's potential to display educational decor or have sessions to educate. They do provide a wine club, but small steps can establish commitments with a new customer base. The pizza is delicious. The sauce is great, the crust is solid, and the toppings are of quality. If you want something light and fresh, the Margherita. The most underrated pizza since we are all accustomed to a lot of toppings on pizzas. This is a must try. This place out of the other owned spots has burrata cheese. I think adding mozzarella with burrata would improve this pie, but nonetheless still good. The truffle pig pizza was also good. If you're looking for meaty and something not too light, this would be a good option. I definitely will be back. Thanks for everything!

The brewery was a cool spot with a chill environment and about 16 options to choose from, they allow for tastings before committing to a drink. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and very chill. I had the Sonrisa Mexican lager once with michelada and once without; the michelada wasn't great. I also liked the prickly pear which tasted more like a cider but tasty all the same. My partner had the hibiscus tequila infused sake which was ok but not a real cocktail. I'd return for the Sonrisa when back at the Boulevard marketplace . Know that this place only accepts card payment no cash.

Unfortunately this place has closed as of July 2026…read more Progress was an amazing brewery in South El Monte. Progress felt like home and the owners made you feel like you were hanging out in someone's backyard bar. Besides seeing someone piss themselves on a chair I never saw anything negative here. They had amazing michelada beers that were perfect for summertime heat. Progress had the best Dodgers postseason watch parties. They would roll out the big screen and the place would be full of fans cheering. It terrible seeing this progress close. There is going to be a big hole left in South El Monte community. I hope the brewery cat finds a nice home!

I got the elote egg rolls to start and the chimichuri steak sandwich and BKB burger to share. The elote egg rolls were pretty good but, IMO, would have liked some more chunks of corn to represent the OG elote. BKB burger was ordered medium and was juicy and tender. The chimichuri steak sandwich was disappointing, however. I wasn't a fan of the chimichuri sauce or the lack there of it as the flavor was very subtle and too herby for me. I'd definitely come here again tho to try more of their drinks, especially the beers. I got the cali creamin which was a nice smooth stout and the mango tango soju cocktail that was pretty light. Parking is in the back if you're lost on parking details. There's indoor and outdoor seating where doggos are welcomed too!

Their food is all so fresh and real, you can taste the quality in the bite! Fish was fresh, not old at all. The fish tacos were good, lime had no juice but nonetheless it was good tacos. Their burgers were a thick patty and the meat was fresh and lean, not fatty at all. This is the first place I tried with beef that tasted fresh and legit, no crazy salty seasoning or oily at all. Juicy but light and my burger was not messy, I felt clean after eating! Incredible service and our waters were often refilled. Pulled pork sandwich was good but definitely on the dry side, hoped for more sauce. Chicken wings and pizza were finger lickin good, loved it! I was happy and would definitely come back.

Food came out fast and fresh. We stuck to the e happy hour menu but I'd bet their regular menu items are tasty as well. Drinks: Stuck to beer and they have a great selection. If you like Pliney they always have The Elder and The Younger on tap. If you're not sure what to get you can make your own flight! One bartender said they come in 6 but the trays hold 4 each, so might as well get 8!
