I have been at this brewery a few time with people from work, but I recently revisited it with my family. The brewery moved from it its previous location on the front on the street to a building in the back, but the beer is still the same quality. The place provides ample space with large picnic tables. There is also a back patio with tables, heaters and even misters, My husband and I are not big beer drinkers and don't like IPAs or Sour beers, we we both had tasting flights and were able to find some very good lagers and stouts. During our visit there was a pop up cater, Burger Boy Joy serving smash burgers and chicken tenders. I thought theirs was the best bur I've had in a very long time. The beer selection is good and we enjoyed everything we tasted. I would have preferred to have it a little bit colder, but that is just my own taste. Prices are great and service was really good. We will have to come back soon and check out their new beer releases. read more

First visit to this casual-vibes brewery located in an industrial building/complex. Long picnic table style seating inside, which lends itself to sharing tables and meeting new people. They also have a large back patio with a couple covered tables, misters, and heaters. They don't serve food but have various pop-ups to provide munchies, and I noticed that some people brought in their own food. Parking is limited to on street only. The beer selection was fantastic, and we started off with a 6-pour taster to see what we wanted to have with our lunch. Everything was tasty, but they could have been served a little colder for my taste. I will say that the beer prices were very reasonable. During our visit, they had a pop-up caterer onsite, Burger Boy Joy (@burger_boy_joy), and they provided some delicious eats. Their smash burgers were some of the best we've had, and their chicken tenders were huge and juicy. Will definitely look for them again at a future location. Here for the 1st time, and it's eehhhh.... No food here, but rumors has it they have food trucks from time to time, today I guess this is not that time and it's a FRIDAY NIGHT. They do allow you to bring your own food so that's cool I guess. There's no options other than their beer list, and even though I know this is a brewery, I'm sure they would make much more money if they sold some ciders or had wine option for those that don't drink beer. Finding this place felt like a thriller movie. The building that actually has the logo is NOT where the tap room is. But it does look super sketchy. Lights flickering, windows with bars, and not a soul in sight. I sat in my car for 10 minutes to wait and see where this place was... finally a guy came out of a garage from a separate building and I soon realized that was the place. The guy with the weed wacker didn't help the walk to the entrance, it only made it more creepy. Once in side it feels like a typical brewery. I don't drink beer so I was unimpressed with my can of squirt. Restrooms are "male and female" and as I entered I was actually impressed how clean it appeared until I looked up at the ceiling and saw the grossness up there. As I look around I notice that this is definitely a locals place. Like all breweries, Parking sucks... and the longer I sit here I'm finding out more info. Apparently they no longer have food trucks here but their OLD venue is where they had food trucks and ciders. I guess I should have checked this place out before they moved here. Overall, if you're a locals only type of person or you're on a mission to try all the breweries in town go check it out yourself. As a seldom beer-drinker, I have to say these beers are delicious! I tried the sandia, piña and the michi and all were amazing! The flavors are unique and I love that extra citrus taste. One thing to add would be that they don't sell growlers onsite so you need to bring your own container for them to fill. Otherwise, it's a great place for a group get-together. read more

Beer selection was pretty good. Surprisingly, I liked their Michi even though I don't like tart or sour beers. But they had the perfect balance of lime to michilada. It was freezing this day we went. Inside was so cold. They had heaters outside but no one was sitting out there. The pizza out back will feed you if you're hungry. But don't expect much. The dough/pizza was so sad.. frozen microwaved pizza would have been much better. Hopefully they change something out because that's a lot of work for not good pizza... Not worth $14. read more

But she came down to us with an attitude, as if we interrupted them/her. She hesitantly gave me a sample. And when I asked for a receipt, she said "we don't do that." Can't expect too much for El Monte...but was really surprised with how great the music was (Friday night). There's a dance floor. There's a pool table. You gotta make your own shameless fun here. Their beer specials are good as well as their events but the beer itself unfortunately might need a bit of work. If you're into light beer and michis then this place definitely will work for those that drink those beers. But as far as the other options are concerned, the IPA's have a dry and sharp finish with a hard aftertaste, the seltzers are bit too light and not enough carbonation. The sours were rough on the pallet and the only thing that saves your pallet to chase it all down is pounding a lager or their pils. I've been coming here for the past couple of years but the beers are nothing special to write about. This place has a very spacious outdoor seating and the service is great. But they need to focus on quality control and thorough tasting. My friends like coming here because all they drink are lagers and pils, but not much for me. The menu is fairly vast but lack in taste. Their events and game nights are what saves this place. But until the OTHER beers are given the time and care to be prepared as well as their Mex lager and their pils I give it a 3 star. read more

First time here! Once I walked in I fell in love with how spacious it was. It's very wide and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating! They have quarter game machines on the left hand side that automatically made me wish I had change on me. I headed to the bar and the menu options were nicely written out and explained, They had a variety of beer options, wine and agua Frescas! I tried the Providencia beer which was really Smooth and tasty! The description next to that one was creamy ale And it definitely satisfied my taste buds! They also allow you to sample the beers on tap so I went ahead and tried the sandia loca which had chamoy instilled inside the beer already! We found this place on yelp and wanted to stop by for the beers and board games. When we arrived, we thought it was closed because all the doors were gated up. After driving around, we saw that they were located a couple buildings over from the corner that the directions led us too. It was kind of difficult to spot. There were a lot of beers to choose from and it was fairly priced. My boyfriend only paid $18 for three beers. There were arcade games but the change machine was broken when we were there. They also had board games but not a lot of options, we ended up playing apples to apples. There was a live DJ outside playing really loud music. My boyfriend was a little bummed because he wanted to play music in the indoor TouchTunes jukebox. It was also a super hot day and there was only one fan but we weren't seated near it. This is ground zero for Dodger fans. It's always a great place to visit. Their brews are very unique and stand on their own. There's something for everybody. The service is very professional and friendly and they're very well versed in their beers. The ambience is a very peaceful except when the Dodgers are playing, which on the other hand is very exciting. It's a great place to go when you want to see sports on any afternoon. I love the vibe of this place! I came here to catch up with an old friend. They have some interesting drinks including the Aqua Frescas. My friend and I tried out the passion fruit and guava and I definitely recommend the guava. The passion fruit was a little too tart and didn't really mix well, but the guava was really great! The drinks are decently priced as well! They average around $5 or so. There's indoor and outdoor seating and some arcade games you can play. It's also dog friendly!They also have TV sets for both the outside and inside. They have a taco stand located in the outdoor seating area and the tacos were pretty decent. It is an extra 50 cents charge for card, so make sure you bring cash! It is easy to miss. The parking lot gets filled pretty quickly on weekend nights but there is street parking available. A Real Handcrafted Beer Folks!! I swear I am not a beer person, but this place made up my mind. Finally somebody took the time and the effort to create a not mediocre or random drink that only gets people drunk! This place has a different mentality and I am very glad I discovered it. The owners succeeded in creating a beer that is special and unique. I tried what they call "Wolverine Amber Ale" and was pleasantly amazed by unusual chocolaty flavors. Friendly stuff is constantly helping you to recognize specific aromas you can find in their creations and I absolutely loved their "flavors and aromas" collection. The only issue I had was finding the new entrance since I was use to the old location the only reason we found it was a person walked us over so maybe post it somewhere online where it actually is. What's up: Heard about this brewery from friends and found out it was located in our neighborhood. We decided to head there on a Friday night to check it out and grab a drink. Parking: They have a decent size lot in their immediate area. When we arrived, we managed to snag the last open spot; they looked pretty busy. There's also street parking nearby but the area is not as well lit and is a bit on the darker side. Environment: Before entering, we had to show our IDs to the security guard in front. The place was very lively with loud music playing from the jukebox. Games can also be borrowed. Restrooms are located towards the left, around the corner. You'll see the bar as soon as you enter; the line formed on the left side of it. There's also several TVs scattered throughout the area as well as retro arcade games. The right leads to the outside patio area where there were more tables, a couple of gazebos, and a taco truck! There was also a lot of security guards walking around. What was ordered: We ordered the Fat Henry, Solera Vulture, and the Strawberry Kveik Blonde. Yay/Nay/Meh: Yay. The atmosphere for this place was definitely very lively and there was a pretty good crowd. A bit on the loud side, but it was a fairly enjoyably location to hang out and grab drinks. This is a COVID-era review. Gotta give 5 stars to Progress Brewing. UCLA Anderson and UCLA alumni started this place! And around the city I grew up in! Super proud of the representation! Parking is really easy. During COVID, they will check your temperature and you will be seated at a table. You cannot leave your table unless you have to use the restroom. The staff is attentive so they will be walking around to take your orders and bring your beers. We didn't really have to wait long and they actually got to us a few times before we even finished! So I was at The End of the Santa Fe Trail, I am lost making turn after turn trying to find my way out of El Monte until I came across this hidden treasure. It's was like the beer gods guided me toward this destination to cleanse my soul of all the chocolate milk I drank during breakfast with my children. I am not leaving this place, this will be my new home. Someone please tell my kids that I love them and that when they turn 21 they can come here to look for me. This reminds me of my childhood. This is a great brewery and one of my favorites in San Gabriel Valley. Not only is the atmosphere pretty cool, the service is great and there is a wide selection of beers on tap. Like most craft breweries, Progress is tucked in a commercial/industrial area. There is ample parking and a huge outdoor space when weather permits. The inside is big with picnic tables, a large bar counter and flat screen TV's. It's also pet friendly so you can bring your dog here while you enjoy a pint. There's often a food truck outside or you can bring your own food which is nice. Also, the bar has an assortment of snacks like chips, jerky, peanuts and candy bars. Growlers are pretty reasonably priced and come in different sizes. They even fill up other labeled growlers from other breweries. My favorite is the Red Turner, which is a red dark ale - very smooth and delicious. I love tasting several at once via a flight (six 4oz glass for $12); here, I enjoyed the Cattleman, Redcoat and Bayonet. If you love IPA, their Sidewinder Double IPA is excellent. Nice golden blond color, slightly hoppy and smooth. Overall, great place to hang out and enjoy good beers. Definitely will be back again soon. read more

Decent beer with decent service. I stopped by on a recent short trip to LA and happened to be on this side of town. There aren't many breweries (from what I could tell on yelp) so this one was my and only try this trip. The alley to get here is a little narrow like many in South California so if you're not local just don't be a dumbass and try to get your massive SUV through there. There's plenty of street parking. Once inside, the place is pretty spacious. There's also an outdoor space, which I didn't take advantage of. The beers were decent enough, specifically the Guera or Wera and the blonde. I was more a fan of Wera than the blonde but that's just my take. The IPA are pretty high ABV and seemed to be traditional west coasts. No hazy or NE IPAs just yet. The staff were nice enough, especially after some drunk guy came up to me and started randomly talking about abortions...they shut that sh-- right away by taking his beer order and getting him happily on his way. ladies, beware. read more
